Translation 110803 Interview #2 Kim Jaejoong…

[Trans] 110803 [Interview #2] Kim Jaejoong, “What Do Junsu-Yoochun Mean To Me? They Are The Reason I Live”

Kim Jaejoong is cold? Prim? Quiet? If that’s what you thought of him, we ask you to forget that Kim Jaejoong, trapped by the image of an ice prince.

◆Kim Jaejoong is an ice prince? … “Though I may look cold, I have a hidden approachability”

Contrary to his cold and distant appearance, Kim Jaejoong boasts an approachable character and many personal connections. Popular Japanese group W-inds’ Keita and Yamashita Tomohisa, one of Japan’s greatest idols, have both revealed that they are close friends with Kim Jaejoong, bringing their friendships into the spotlight.

When we brought up the fact that Yamashita Tomohisa said, “I want to release an album with Jaejoong,” Kim Jaejoong smiled and said, “It’s just a passing comment. He always says things like that,” and showed off his close friendship with the Japanese celebrity. What interested many was the fact that Kim Jaejoong returned from the ‘Park Ji Sung and Friends’ soccer tournament in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam with a new friend, soccer star Jung Tese. The two frequently talk on Twitter and have kept their tight friendship alive till now.

What is the secret to his ‘amazing sociability’? Kim Jaejoong said, “It’s kind of weird for me to call it ‘amazing sociability’, but I think I’m the type of person who has an appearance that most people feel unfamiliar with,” and “If people like me approach others first and we get to know each other, I think we become friends quicker. There are many times when people are surprised because I don’t act the way they expected me to, and we end up talking and becoming friends.“

He smiled and continued to say, “I wouldn’t call it approaching them first, but it’s more like trying to be the first to say hi. There won’t be anyone who will refuse to greet you back if you initiate it first,” and “There have been lots of people who told me that I’m very different from what they thought I would be like.”

◆What is JYJ to Kim Jaejoong? “I live for Junsu and Yoochun”

There are two names that make Kim Jaejoong smile brighter. They are none other than his fellow members Kim Junsu and Park Yoochun. Whenever their names came out during our conversation, Kim Jaejoong tended to smile and laugh more.

Kim Jaejoong is registered as a member of FC MEN, of which Kim Junsu is the captain. But Kim Jajeoong has yet to step foot on the pitch. Regarding this, Kim Jaejoong jested and said, “I participate only in name. The captain put in our names as Yoochun and Jaejoong the soccer players but he’s never once used us in a match.” He burst into laughter after setting an attack on Kim Junsu as he said, “We’re nothing but a promotional strategy.”

At the end of his spell of laughter, Kim Jaejoong said, “But I love Junsu,” putting a sweet end to his tale and showing his affection for his fellow member.

Kim Jaejoong is the oldest of the three members of JYJ. But he depends on his younger members as much as they rely on him. When this interview took place, Kim Jaejoong was suffering hard from the sudden cancellation of JYJ’s appearance on a Jeju special program.

We asked Kim Jaejoong what got him back on his feet when he was worn out, tired and wanted to quit. And this brought us straight back to his members.

“Of course, it’s our members. I think it would have been too hard if I had been walking down this road alone. It’s only possible because I’m with Junsu and Yoochun. We split our pains in three and share our gains equally in three. I want to place great meaning on the fact that we are together, no matter what we do. The same goes with our fans and staff members.“

What do the two members mean to Kim Jaejoong? He wasn’t able to answer this question easily and thought about it for quite a while. After much thought and consideration, he turned the place into a sea of laughter when he parodied a commercial as he stated, “Ah, they’re great. But I can’t think of a way to pinpoint what they mean to me exactly.” When the laughter died out, Kim Jaejoong gave us his sincere confession.

“Actually, it’s hard to explain what those two people are in my life because they mean so much to me. Nothing can compare to them. They’re kind of like my arms in a way. You can’t live without both arms, right? Like that, I’m able to live because I have both of them by my side.”

His voice seemed to shake and his throat clammed up as he expressed what he felt about his two younger members, Kim Junsu and Park Yoochun. But soon, Kim Jaejoong found his cheer once more as he discussed the right arm, left arm and body of JYJ.

The name of Kim Jaejoong’s first domestic drama is ‘Protect the Boss’. So what would Kim Jaejoong like to protect?

“I want to protect and carry on the relationship that I have with our members right now. And I want to cherish and protect all the music, performances and memories from our debut till now. And I want to keep as many of our fans around as possible (T/N: He’s using the double meaning of the word, which could mean keep or protect, depending on the context. This explains the laughter at the end).(laughter)”

Translation 110801 Why Did C-JeS Decline An Appearance On A ‘JYJ’ Special Program’?

[Trans] 110801 Why Did C-JeS Decline An Appearance On A ‘JYJ Special Program’?

‘Lee Giho’s Police Cop’ of the internet broadcasting program Radio21, which became a hot topic for giving birth to the new word ‘SoTamJaeShil(To desire Girls’ Generation and lose JYJ in the process)’, has been receiving great support from its listeners.

Last weekend, Enterpost met with a representative of the program to listen to the interesting behind-the-scenes stories. Apparently, the special program was not on the schedule; it was made and added to the schedule in a rush when Reporter Lee Giho, who has been keeping an eye on the JYJ issue, proposed its creation after coming to the conclusion that ‘Unjust forces have been applied on this issue’ when KBS suddenly cancelled JYJ’s appearance on the ‘Jeju’s 7 Natural Wonders of the World nomination commemoration program’.

As if it were taking its aim at KBS’s special program, the radio show took place for two hours from 4pm. It was scheduled so for strategic purposes, pacifying the anger of JYJ’s fans, who would have otherwise had to watch as girl groups with hot pants stood on the stage that their singers deserved to stand on.

There were some interesting behind-the-scenes stories regarding the casting of the participants. The first guest the program’s representatives attempted to reach was of course, ‘a JYJ representative’. This is because they were the victims most affected by KBS’ ‘brutality’.

When the program’s representative contacted C-JeS Entertainment, which acts as JYJ’s management agency, C-JeS expressed that it didn’t wish to appear on the program. They explained that though they agreed with the object of the program, there was a chance that their appearance on the program to reveal their stance may become an emotional battle. C-JeS turned down the offer and said, “We are cautious about appearing on the program as our actions may be interpreted as a ‘counterattack’. If we were to take action in such a way, what would make us so different from them(It’s easy for anyone to guess who ‘them’ are^^-editor)?”

And their final words moved the program’s representative greatly. “Though JYJ were not able to appear on KBS’ special program, they are still honorary ambassadors of Jeju’s 7 Natural Wonders of the World nomination. JYJ will continue to work hard to promote Jeju’s 7 Natural Wonders of the World nomination.”

Though a guest appearance by a representative of C-JeS didn’t occur, Radio21 was able to see their sincerity and instead met with Department Head Lee Jae Eun from Prain, the PR company of JYJ.

But even Lee Jae Eun confessed that she was experiencing a great amount of pressure from her appearance on the program. Though it was an interview that was conducted over the phone, the fact that the conversation was broadcasted live must have been pressure beyond one’s imagination. However, regardless of this pressure, Lee Jae Eun decided to appear on the program with the responsibility to correctly state the facts and process beneath the surface of the the issue for the listeners. She revealed many facts about the issue that had not been known before.

Though she was extremely busy, having stayed up the night before to monitor the last episode of Park Yoochun’s drama ‘Miss Ripley’ and to put the finishing touches on her work, Department Head Lee did her best to present the needed information and facts in a concise way.

The end product was a program that uncovered the hidden stories of a raging controversy that received an explosive response from netizens and fans alike. The public, not only fans of JYJ, was able to know the correct information behind the current issue that surrounds JYJ.

Meanwhile, C-JeS Entertainment has already reported KBS Jeju to the Fair Trade Commission for JYJ’s performance cancellation. But regardless of the outcome, KBS’ rash decision has lost the broadcasting company its moral image and trust. Will KBS ever be able to salvage its demolished image?
