Las Vegas, the largest tourist city of Nevada, has proclaimed that from here on, every November 25th will be ‘KPOP Masters Day’.
According to Carolyn G. Goodman, the mayor of Las Vegas, on a charter by the city of Las Vegas under the laws of Nevada, the 25th of this month has been designated as ‘KPOP Masters Day’. This is the first time in the world that a specific music genre has been given an anniversary by a specific country or state.
Las Vegas has proclaimed this anniversary to mark the KPOP concerts that will be held in the city on the 25th and 26th of this month at the Grand Garden Arena thanks to the collaborative efforts of Billboard Magazine, Billboard Korea, MGM Grand, KPMA and LLC.
From this year forth, a variety of KPOP related events will be held in Las Vegas on November 25th.
A local representative stated, “This pledge will make Las Vegas the representative city that takes the lead in the KPOP boom,” and “We foresee many opportunities to encounter KPOP in Las Vegas in the future every November 25th.“
‘Billboard KPOP Masters’ is an event to commemorate the launching of Billboard’s KPOP Hot 100 Chart and will feature singers such as TVXQ, SHINee, Brown Eyed Girls, SISTAR, B2ST, 4Minute, G.na and MBLAQ.

Congratulations toTVXQ et al for all of the hard work that has gotten you here. This includes TVXQ5, TVXQ2, and JYJ. JYJ may be excluded from many things–but they have been a crucial part of the Hallyu Wave; KPop genre.
