JYJ’s fans have expressed their frustration over the cancellation of QTV’s ‘Real 24‘, a reality program that was to capture JYJ’s daily lives.
On March 2nd, the fans officially announced, “QTV’s irresponsible action is hard to see from a well-established company, and has disrespected the fans“.
They showed their anger over QTV’s cancellation, adding, “This action ultimately ignores the court’s decision to allow JYJ to keep working in the entertainment industry“.
JYJ’s international fan base officially sent out a statement, saying:
“We are writing to express our deep disappointment at the action of cable channel QTV.
On March 1st, 2011, QTV announced that they would be cancelling JYJ’s reality program, ‘Real 24′. This happened after QTV itself promoted the show and announced that it would be airing in February, raising the anticipation of the viewers to a very high level. QTV’s action is hard to see from a formal establishment, and is irresponsible and unacceptable.
On February 28th, a petition of more than 86,000 people have been sent to Korea’s Fair Trade Commission (FTC) and the Seoul Central District Court. The Korean court has ruled twice that JYJ should work freely as entertainers without any barriers placed in front of them. However, as our petition says, SM Entertainment, KMP Holdings, and other establishments have repeatedly ignored the official ruling.
QTV’s cancellation is another violation that has been added to the long list of ruling violations and shows many establishments’ outward ignorance of the Korean law. The international consumers of Hallyu show the firm faith in JYJ once again, and request that the Korean court find the group their rightful justice. If this does not happen, Korea should be prepared to accept that its cultural entity’s civil rights have been violated“.
