Park Yoochun: “To Worry About Acting is Happy” and Enjoyable

Park Yoochun has stepped out to transform his character into a warm “city male” Yutaka in the new MBC Monday-Tuesday drama “”Ripley.”

Park Yoochun visited the Ilsan MBC Dream Center to shoot the posters for “Ripley.” He made live the attraction of untaintedness and city-like sophistication of Yutaka with a white suit that was highlighted in black on the collars.

Park Yoochun introduced his character as follows: “If Lee Sunjoon of ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’ is a someone who is clumsy at expressing his feelings and whose structure is similar to a (question with a) definite objective answer, then Yutaka in “Ripley” is a man whose emotions are full and has no hesitation in expressing them, similar to a (question with a) subjective answer.”

Continuing, Park Yoochun revealed his enthusiasm: “I learned from the previous work that it is a very difficult thing to be absolutely absorbed in the character. However, the time that I spent fiercely worrying about the character was truly a happy and enjoyable one. I am excited at the thought of being able to show a different image.”

At the time of the poster shooting, Park Yoochun devoted himself to the shooting until the last moment even though he had not fully recovered from his run to the emergency room due to the acute enteritis, and so received a round of applause from the staff on set.

At the same time, “Ripley” in which Lee Dahae, Kang Hyejung, and Kim Seungwoo appear along with Park Yoochun has as its background a hotel in the city of the 21st century that leads the economy and the market for cultural fashion. It handles work, love, and the splendored success and the failures, and the desires and the loves of the men which are hidden in them. This authentic melodrama first airs on the coming 30th at 9:55PM.

      • Nothing except Chris told me that some of the fans are fighting because they think that this a competitive situation. Lotte Duty free and the Shilla Duty Free are both branches of the same Corp, but she said that others were saying that it is competitive with the JYJ Branch.

        • I figured. Thanks for telling me! By the way, are you guys okay? I read on Elizabeth`s Twitter that you were having some trouble today. Are you experiencing rough weather?

          • “Chris and I left the house to pick up
a bridal gift for a friend and got back-ended by a transit bus that was following too close. We are o.k. but sore, and our car may be totaled. Please pray that we can get this straightened out with the city insurance people. Cha” Oh dear me! I just saw your update. Are you both unhurt? Praying that it is so. Please get a check-up if you are in any kind of pain. The fact that you cannot ever be in control of somebody else`s driving is so frightening. I can only imagine how scared you must have been. Please let me know if I can help with anything.

            • Hi YF,
We just got back from our check-ups. They never say anything but it will work its way through–but I have lived long enough to know that you go anyway and keep records in case things get worse. Chris is hurting more than I , but the doctor who examined her was very blase’. The doctor I was with wants me to go through physical therapy–so one didn’t do enough and the other wants too much. Good thing that we get to decide for ourselves. Well, now that I am somewhat sure that my ladycub is o.k. I am back to my mancubs for a while. 🙂 Cha

  1. Thank goodness you are alright. Please don`t hesitate to go see a second doctor if you feel like it – I know the expenses are sometimes overwhelming, but nothing must happen to you. Here, we have a rule that allows you choose one doctor only and no matter what it is, you must go see him or her, you cannot choose your doctor freely. Problem is, these doctors get paid per patient and so they take on too many cases and sometimes, you have to wait a month or so for an appointment…there are, I think, two private medical clinics in town but they are really expensive, charging about $100 for an appointment. So everyone pitches in when there`s no help to be had in the first place – those who are broke, drive or make the phone calls. 🙂 I am so glad your family pulls together also. I wish for a speedy recovery for the two of you.
The mancubs are good, right? All ready for the big time in the US. Someday you will see them. ^^

  2. Thank You YF for your encouragement and concern. I realized today that even though we all just write each other on the websites, over time we are all 3D. It is frightening to imagine any of you in an accident or ill also. God’s working on it all so we keep going and we keep praying Life is an upward battle but we win!!
As to our JYJCY, Dream, Charlene , Dream. The mancubs aren’t inaccessible physically. New Jersey is a day away, just everything is pulling on our wallets right now. I was hoping to make it this time. We keep fighting!! Cha

  3. Yes we do. It is so good to hear that you are being an optimist in spite of everything. Your way of dealing with things, and, maybe even more so, your way of writing about them, helps me a lot. We will win. We`re still in the race after all 🙂
I fully and absolutely understand the money concern. It`s what keeping me away from Paris too. But it is not to be helped and I am not despairing, because deep down I know that there are fans out there who would probably appreciate this even more than I would, because they are real fans of the other SME artists while I am not all that into them, simply because I haven`t known about them for all that long. And if I truly love our boys, I can do it from here at this moment, right? We will have our chance.
    Thank you Cha. 🙂

  4. There is some satisfaction in sacrifice, YF, and it can have its own rewards. It doesn’t mean that we deny joy and pleasure in our lives forever, it simply says that we can, as you said, find other ways to relate to those we love. It makes it so much more special when we finally reach our goals (such as meeting our guys), and it makes our life fuller. It may be odd to think this way, but the most pleasure is in the discovery of a new person, idea, or location. Once they or it are revealed in all of their facets the bloom leaves the rose. Life then becomes reality, not as much illusion–and we feel a desire to seek anew. A little mystery is not a bad thing, it can add spice to life.
Having said all that, I believe that someday we will be able to touch our guys in some way beyond viewing and buying videos, albums, and pictures because it is a desire of our hearts to relate–and I have learned that our sincere, pure desires are given to us even though they may take different forms. Our spirits know no limitations, so for now I will relate in the spirit. Cha

    • Your’e welcome YF. I’m writing you and posting while I can. I just took the muscle relaxer prescribed by the Doctor and I’m going down fast. Everyone is home today, or at least not at work. Lot’s of prayer for Chris tomorrow. She has to help in the yearly inspection at work and her neck is very sensitive.
. BTW, did you come across her “Cute Chunnie” posting. Chris has her own sense of humor, and she always loves with respect. So Yoochun should understand that cheesy is a positive trait to her, and it’s part of Yoochun’s appeal. 😉 Cha

  5. Hello, I`m late with this… ^^ I am glad you got something to make you relax a bit and I really hope Chris is doing well also. Life goes on and people never stop demanding that you perform your best it seems, even if you`re not up to it. Sometimes work can be a welcome distraction, but not if the pain screams the loudest. Hoping for all of you to heal real soon ^^
Yes, I did – and I utterly enjoyed it. When I see that Chris has made a post, I always hurry to read it. Allow me to say (and I have thought this on several occasions) that this sort of humour has very close ties to intelligence, because it`s as you say, a sense of humour that is different and all their own. Everyone can laugh along – but not everyone can make people laugh. Your girls are special. ^^

  6. Thank You very much YF for your caring. Chris is doing much better. She worked four days this week. She is young so I am having to help her with some confusion over the accident, but she’ll be fine. She’s mourning her car-buddy, meanwhile we are looking for a new one.
If you could hear the stories that Chris, Liz, and I concoct on a regular basis. Yesterday Changmin, Junsu, and Yoochun were accidentally shrunk by an experimental ray and they were transformed into 3 and 5 year-olds. Chunnie is bullying Junsu, and Changmin is asking for food constantly. Jaejoong and Yunho are at this moment being driven crazy by all their demands, and SM has decided to shrink Jae and U-know to market them all as a miniature DBSK. (of course, they’re keeping the parents in the dark). All of this complete with Munchkin voices. We haven’t finished this one, but we’ll see how it goes. Someday, when we find the time we will write them down.
Meanwhile, I’m trying to keep up with all the material out there right now. Some websites have great stuff but they discombobulate my website when I try to pull from them. All you can do is the best you can. I’m trying to keep up with ticketmaster to post when the Seoul tickets will be offered. I’ll check on that again today. Any info? Cha
