[Full Trans] C-JeS Announcement Regarding Fan Goods and Fan Support Activities

Hello. This is C-JeS Entertainment,

We, the agency responsible for JYJ’s management, announce guidelines for fans’ support activities effective January 1st, 2012.

In the meantime, we have been allowing events and sale of goods by fansites, as we considered them to be fans’ autonomous territory. However, in some cases, using artist’s name rights (namensrecht) without prior consultation and creating profit [for personal interest] occurred. Inevitably, as a management agency, we must make this announcement regarding fans’ supports. Please be advised.

Especially, it’s not only the problem of the deterioration of turning fan goods into a form of business with high profit, but the fan goods with artists’ image on them were sold at high price by the 3rd, the 4th illegal traders [T/N: We believe CJeS means that the re-selling of fan goods by those other than the creators escalated the prices]. The industrialization of fan goods actually causes problem to the production of official goods that bring back right profit to the artists. In addition, it rather influences the endorsement of the contract of MD Goods that the artists have legally signed. As [these actions put] the artists in a disadvantaged situation, goods for sale will be strictly controlled in the future.

1) Production of goods using JYJ’s name rights and portrait rights (photos, images, etc.) is prohibited.

2) In case of JYJ (Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu) fan events with over 100 attendees per event, you must share the contents of the event with C-JeS. If there is entry fee, the breakdown of budget must be approved by C-JeS after prior consultation. (Events with fewer than 100 attendees or events without entry fees are ruled out.)

3) For fan support activities or even donation activities, if involving money (entry fee, fund-raising, deposit, etc.), information must be shared with C-JeS in advance.

However, we think that rather than viewing these criterions to be the warnings by a management agency, we hope these will help fans to be self-conscious and to establish a proper fan culture. We hope for wise decision from fans who love JYJ.

Thank you very much.
