Park Yoochun said, “If my lover’s attitude was full by lies, I probably wouldn’t be able to accept it.”
Park Yoochun, who is playing the role of conglomerate heir Song Yoo Hyun in MBC’s “Miss Ripley” said that he wouldn’t be able to accept the relationship if the situation in the drama happened to him in real life.
On 7 July, the “Miss Ripley” site released a Park Yoochun interview video, in which he spoke about his role in the drama as well as his thoughts and issues faced when playing the character.
He said, “I did not place any emphasis on the role of CEO, but thought more about the past and future of Song Yoo Hyun as a person when playing the role.”
About participating in the drama OST with “An Empty Space Left For You,” Park Yoochun said, “I heard it got on the charts, but I have yet to see it for myself. I recieved this song while we were touring in America. Upon returning to Korea, we recorded the song in between shootings, and made changes to the song twice. However, I personally feel that there are still parts that could have been improved.”
Park Yoochun emphasized, “When I appear on the television screen, I feel slightly embarassed.” “And while I am on screen, my song plays in the background.It feels strange.” He said, showing his embarassment.
Recently, he changed his image and is now sporting a short hairstyle, which shows off his good looks even more, and to this Park Yoochun said, “Initially, we wanted to get it cut at episode 2 or 3, but due to the worldwide concerts, (the haircut) was delayed till now.” “In the later part of the drama, there will be emotional scenes. Therefore, based on the director, screenplay and staffs’ opinions, I cut my hair.”
Also, “Miss Ripley ‘s” Song Yoo Hyun recently found out that Jang Miri had approached him with an ulterior motive, increasing the excitement level of the drama. To this, Park Yoochun said, “Currently. (Yoo Hyun) is hit hard, but despite that, he doesn’t change his mind about his love immediately, choosing to uncover the whole truth instead.”
Park Yoochun also said, “Although I would want to understand and accept her past, but to forget all this would indeed be difficult.” “If I accept her past, I would have to consider the pain that I suffer daily. If it were me, I wouldn’t be able to do it. It’s rather difficult.” He revealed in a straightfoward manner about what he would do if something similar had happened in real life, attracting a lot of attention.

[News] 110706 MBC may extend “Miss Ripley” by four more episodes
On July 6th, representatives of MBC revealed that they were in discussions for extending “Miss Ripley” for an extra two weeks.
The drama is originally scheduled for a 16-episode run, which is set to conclude on July 19th. Should the drama be extended for another two weeks, it’ll have a total of 20 episodes and end on August 2nd.
A representative revealed, “It isn’t confirmed yet, but there’s a high possibility that ‘Miss Ripley’ will be extended. We’re currently discussing the addition of about two weeks, so we have yet to also confirm the broadcast date for the pilot episode of its follow-up, ‘Kyebaek‘.”

Sports Seoul has held a survey among about 100 idol group members to pick the best acting-dols of the first half of 2011.
JYJ’s Park Yoochun who is appearing in the MBC Drama Miss Ripley became the best “acting-dol” that idol singers picked. He received praises by challenging himself properly last year at acting with the KBS 2TV drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal. He drew the attention of the viewers at his first challenge in a proper piece with his calm voice, handsome face, and the tears-acting that did not seem to be that of a rookie. Fellow idol singers evaluated that he is showing off a much grown acting ability through Miss Ripley. Viewers who saw the episode said, “Why did they use the prerecorded OST? I’d like to know the director’s thought process”, “I don’t know why they went old-school and sat Park Yoochun in front of a piano when he’s able to both sing and play the piano”, “The scene could have been more moving but then he lip synced… that completely turned me off,” and “Because he lip synced, it actually got in the way of getting into the scene. It felt like the components of a beautiful scene didn’t work at all. I was disappointed.”

JYJ’s Park Yoochun and TVXQ’s Choikang Changmin kept MBC’s staff on their toes as they filmed for their respective shows on the same day and time with just one wall separating them.
On the 22nd, Park Yoochun filmed for ‘Miss Ripley’ on set at the MBC Dream Center in Ilsan, Gyeonggi-do. He was following a rigorous schedule of filming for the drama in the morning in the MBC building and heading out in the afternoon to film in Gangnam.
Next to the indoor set of ‘Miss Ripley’ was the set of MBC’s ‘Come to Play’. On this day, many SM Entertainment singers were present after completing their ‘SM TOWN Live Tour in Paris’ performance in Paris, France. Choikang Changmin was present to represent TVXQ on ‘Come to Play’.
Fortunately, it was later found that the two did not run into each other due to their busy schedules. But as Park Yoochun and SM Entertainment representatives have not met in public since the 2009 lawsuit, MBC staff later reported that they were unable to hide their nervousness as they were kept on their toes.
Since Park Yoochun began singing as a member of JYJ, he has been unable to appear on variety shows.
