MBC’s Monday-Tuesday drama “Triangle” has been extended with two episodes to properly wrap up the exciting story.

A representative of MBC revealed to Star News on July 7, “The actors and producers recently discussed extending the drama. They decided on producing two more episodes.”

Originally planned to be 24 episodes long, “Triangle” will finish its run after 26 episodes. Instead of airing its final episode on July 22, the finale will air on July 29. Consequently, the follow-up drama “The Night Watchman” has been forced to pushed back its premiere to August 4.

“We have six episodes left until the end, but a lot of stories are yet to be explained, and thus we decided to extend the drama,” the representative explained.

“Triangle” is currently in the stages of unraveling the truth behind the birth of the three brothers, Jang Dong Soo (Lee Bum Soo), Heo Young Dal (Kim Jae Joong) and Yoon Yang Ha (Im Si Wan).

The drama airs every Monday and Tuesday at 9:55pm (KST).

[TRANS] 120713 Song Seung Hun & JYJ’s Jaejoong, 6 Episode Extension Under Consideration For “Dr. Jin”

[TRANS] 120713 Song Seung Hun & JYJ’s Jaejoong, 6 Episode Extension Under Consideration For “Dr. Jin”

It is currently under consideration for MBC’s weekend special program “Timeslip Dr. Jin” to be extended by 6 episodes.

According to a representative of the production team of “Dr Jin” on 13 July, talks are currently underway regarding the extension of the drama “Dr. Jin”, which has recorded ratings above 10%, and is currently being broadcast. There is a possibility of an extension of anywhere between 4 – 10 episodes. The representative stated, “Discussions are currently being held regarding the possibility of an extension by 6 episodes. This is subject to agreement on the part of the cast, and nothing has been decided as of yet.”

Broadcasting personnel also expressed, “It is a drama which is very rich in content, and there are still many deep, philosophical themes which have been left (unexplored). Thus, we have decided that a long-term extension would not be unreasonable given the story itself. The production environment is also relatively good. There has not been a case when the script was only ready on the day of filming itself.”

“Dr. Jin”, which began broadcasting in late may this year, is a mystical fantasy drama, which depicts the story of a talented surgeon who finds himself involved in a series of mysterious events, leading to him travelling back in time to the Joseon dynasty, and later meeting with historical figures including Heungseon Daewongun. The cast includes Song Seung Hun, Park Min Young, Lee Bum Soo, JYJ’s Jaejoong and Lee So Yeon.

[News] 120714 MBC’s ‘Dr. Jin’ Extended Two Episodes

MBC’sDr. Jin‘ starring Song Seung Hun, Lee Bum Soo, and Kim Jaejoong has been extended by 2 more episodes.

A staff member at the drama said on July 12th, “We have decided to add two more episodes.  Although we started with a plan of just 20 episodes it seems that it will be hard to tie up the story so for the sake of creating a more complete story, we have decided to add the extra episodes.”  Dr. Jin is now scheduled to conclude in early August.

The actors have already shown a positive response to this idea.  Lee Bum Soo recently stated, “I hope it is 40 episodes and not 20.  It is too short for the viewers to follow the overall arc in just 20 episodes.“  Song Seung Hun said, “It is hard to show everything in just 20 episodes especially for a historical drama.

Even after the positive response from the actors, the staff was still worried on how the viewers would take the news that the show has been extended.  ‘Dr. Jin’ began airing on May 26th alongside SBS’sGentleman’s Class‘ with the plan of ending on July 29th.  A staff member said, “With the extension of our show, some people might think that we are trying to take the place of the number one show in our time slot, ‘Gentleman’s Class.’  But we never thought about the ratings when we made this decision.

Are you looking forward to the additional episodes?
