A Personal Note to Kim Jaejoong Who Surpassed an Ajumma’s Expectations!! Episode 21

Unbelievable, Jaejoong. You have just proven yourself through portraying the role of Kim Kyung Tak in such a professional way. A wealth of critics and people who have always equated your handsome looks with lack of depth in your character can no longer do so. You are a gem ablaze with many developing facets. You can no longer be labeled as just a singer, a songwriter, or an actor because there is so much more potential in you that I can see being developed over time. Keep breathing; keep growing; and some day the entire world will see a sensitive, wonderful, talented and influential person who truly loves to give of himself to help others. This is what this Ajumma can see in store for you. I pray that you will desire this for yourself..

I come from a nurturer’s perspective–wanting the best for you and your brothers that you can achieve in this life. I have lived many things that you have yet to see or experience, so I know how much you can and will grow. Jaejoong, I have always been intrigued by your acting even when you were younger, but the depth to which you have taken the character of Kim Kyung Tak is an indicator of the man still in the making, with so much more to come.

I know that you are open to learning from those who have been in the business so much longer than yourself. Keep an open mind and a caring heart and you will see doors open to you that no man can shut.  I have cried with you many times, and I want you to understand how much tears are a medicine. Tears are the beginning of healing–indicators that the emotions are being released. This is healthy and manly. Some would criticise the man who cries, yet I say that he is healthier and more in touch with his emotions than the stalwart, keep-the-stiff-upper-lip role model that young boys are taught to emulate.

Now that you are finishing this role and working on “Here Comes Jackal’, I only hope that you will be offered many more challenging roles that will stimulate you to do your very best. You have a remarkable work ethic, but remember to take time to rest, sleep, and play to heal your body, soul, and spirit. Always Keep The Faith, Jaejoong!!  <3  Momma Cha

120731 Confusion Reigns in Dr. Jin Land Episodes 19 and 20

Well, Mr. Kim Kyung Tak aka Kim Jaejoong–what’s going down? Confusion for you as well as the rest of us is the operative [no pun intended] phrase here. As you are functioning as a double-agent, you seem to be reserving certain information for one side or the other. Your father is on to you now as well as Young Hwi. You answered Young Hwi’s query a bit too blithely. Consequently, they aren’t too sure whether to believe what you say, and you’re not sure of them either. The problem is–we can’t determine your true intentions, either.  Personally, I would consider you a babo to desert your friends, because I am convinced that the Left State Minister hasn’t a clue as to what love really is–and your friends do.

At present, you have continually carried out your father’s evil orders–albeit somewhat reluctantly, I’ll give you that.  There has to come a time and a place when you must make a firm decision to either help to usher in a new age for Chosun, admittedly at the expense of your own family’s status and rule, or cling to the bloody, conniving ways of the men in your family who up front admit to using you, despite your ‘inferiority’, to commit henious crimes in the name of justice.

What I do not want to see is your failure to obtain anything of merit for yourself or for your friends due to lack of fortitude and lack of commitment  to the common good. How do you sleep at night after butchering innocent people? People have a right to be free and to make decisions for themselves, and that arguably can mean to choose, in this case, the traditional ways, or choose to begin ushering in a new age.

I have grown to love you as a character, Kim Kyung Tak, and I want so much for you. Recognition, legitimacy, respect, and more. I am hoping for a good woman to love you, share your life, and bear children for you. I want the same for Dr. Jin. Will this be possible writers? I’m not sure on this one. What I am sure of is an interesting, people dying thither and yon, heart-wrenching end to this historical drama. Great job, Everyone.

[NEWS] 120730 The Ending of ‘Doctor’ Jin Will Depend on Jae Joong’s Decision

[NEWS] 120730 The ending of ‘Doctor’ Jin will depend on Jae Joong’s decision

Viewers of Doctor Jin are now paying attention to the decision Jae Joong will make in the last episode.

In MBC TV’s drama series Doctor Jin, Kyung Tak (played by Jae Joong) has reached a crossroad where he has to decide to choose his family or his love and friendship.

In the 18th episode, which aired on July 22, Kyung Tak becomes a double spy to protect his father Byung Hee (played by Kim Eung Soo). However, after getting advice from his best friend Young Hwi (played by Jin Yi Han) and finding out that his old lover Young Rae (played by Park Min Young) is facing death because of the religious persecution of Catholicism, he also tries to save both.

A spokesperson for the series says, “Kyung Tak is the most important person for Ha Eung and Byung Hee who are in confrontation with each other, and he’s also a person who has no political ambitions.”

Viewers reacted: “I feel so sad because of Kyung Tak. He’s just being used by everyone.” “I think Doctor Jin needs to cure Kyung Tak’s confused mind first.” “I want to go back to the past to save Kyung Tak.” “All Kyung Tak needs is someone’s sincere love. I’m so sad.”

The spokesperson also says, “What’s really attractive about this series is that viewers can imagine what would happen if they could change the history or what decision they would make if they were in the old days. Because the viewers can feel the concerns and pain of the time by watching Kyung Tak’s confusing situations, they’re immersed in Kyung Tak’s emotion.”

[Trans] 120727 ‘Dr Jin’ Visual Art – “KyungHwi Couple

[Trans] 120727 ‘Dr Jin’ Visual Art – “KyungHwi Couple

In MBC ‘Dr Jin’, the friendship between police bureau officer Kim Kyung Tak (Kim Jaejoong) and his childhood friend Hong Young Hwi (Jin Yi Han) has caused a development in the drama plot. Both are smart and has outstanding martial arts ability, but the friendship between them is one of the most attractive point of the drama. The strong friendship between “KyungHwi Couple” is comparable to lovers in love.

In the drama, Kyung Tak had a marriage engagement Young Hwi’s sister Young Rae (Park Min Young) and the “KyungHwi Couple” happy moment that happened when the three of them were fooling around on the streets, was pointed out by viewers to be one of the best scene. In this scene, Young Hwi held on to Kyung Tak’s hand while Kyung Tak mistook the hand that he was holding on to was Young Rae’s and thus smiling away happily. This scene spiked the viewers’ love for “KyungHwi Couple”.

However the cute “KyungHwi Couple” began to caught up in turmoil when Young Hwi, as a Anonymous member, tried to assasinate Kyung Tak’s father who is Andong Kim clan’s leader. In order to protect his father, Kyung Tak had to be in opposition satnce with Young Hwi. The turning of a pair of childhood friends into enemies made viewers felt sorry.

To this, a representative expressed, “The friendship between men can be stronger than the love between lovers. No matter how cruel their opposite stance remains, they are still very concerned with each other. These feelings were naturally revealed through the natural acting of the actors. This is also why the viewers are able to be indulged with the storyline and the love for this couple.”

120715 Dr. Jin…Jaejoong Displays Excellent Acting Skills..But Oh So Sad

       Dr Jin  Extended

Four episodes ago I wrote about what I considered to be a bright ray of hope in the midst of this painful drama.  Kim Kyung Tak had supposedly lost his best friend Hong Young Hwi through death, but had gained an opportunity to once again gather Hong Young Rae to his side. I was happy because I tend to favor the underdog at all times, and Kim Kyung Tak definitely fits this description. Even though an add-on character, I was hoping to see more positive things happening for Kim Kyung Tak. Alas, this has not come about. So far this character, being portrayed remarkably well by our own Kim Jaejoong, has yet to be given an alternative to life besides being his Father’s lackey. It is obvious that his Father’s only interest in Kim Kyung Tak is to use his youth and vulnerability to commit crimes.

Kim Kyung Tak truly loves Hong Young Rae. He has loved her since childhood. and has continued to try to woo and wed her and to help her family despite opposition from his Father. Young Rae does not love Kyung Tak in this sad story of parallel universes, time travel, and Dr Jin.

Dr. Jin is a rival for Young Rae’s heart, and Kyung Tak; despite posturing and threatening, has only managed to drive her closer and closer to Dr. Jin.

Young Rae has reneged on marrying Kyung Tak twice already, and because of her stubborness has almost managed to kill herself through refusal to obtain medical help for breast cancer. Dr Jin finally convinces her to allow him to do surgery and saves the day. However, the dilemma between Young Rae and Kyung Tak continues with no relief in sight.

Between shooting the Prince and almost killing himself–Kim Kyung Tak has backed himself into a tight corner that only by giving in to the only shelter he knows–his Father’s dregs of twisted love, does he feel as if he has any worth.

Kung Tak discovers that his beloved childhood friend, Hong Young Hwi is alive. If the Left Prime Minister finds this fact out–the ship may as well sink for Kyung Tak. All I ask is for the writers to grant this character some mercy and to not persist in turning a tender-hearted young man who started this drama with some dignity into someone who has to beg to be loved. No one deserves what they have laid on this character. Fighting Kim Kyung Tak. See you next time. <3

[News] 120714 MBC’s ‘Dr. Jin’ Extended Two Episodes

MBC’sDr. Jin‘ starring Song Seung Hun, Lee Bum Soo, and Kim Jaejoong has been extended by 2 more episodes.

A staff member at the drama said on July 12th, “We have decided to add two more episodes.  Although we started with a plan of just 20 episodes it seems that it will be hard to tie up the story so for the sake of creating a more complete story, we have decided to add the extra episodes.”  Dr. Jin is now scheduled to conclude in early August.

The actors have already shown a positive response to this idea.  Lee Bum Soo recently stated, “I hope it is 40 episodes and not 20.  It is too short for the viewers to follow the overall arc in just 20 episodes.“  Song Seung Hun said, “It is hard to show everything in just 20 episodes especially for a historical drama.

Even after the positive response from the actors, the staff was still worried on how the viewers would take the news that the show has been extended.  ‘Dr. Jin’ began airing on May 26th alongside SBS’sGentleman’s Class‘ with the plan of ending on July 29th.  A staff member said, “With the extension of our show, some people might think that we are trying to take the place of the number one show in our time slot, ‘Gentleman’s Class.’  But we never thought about the ratings when we made this decision.

Are you looking forward to the additional episodes?

Hi everyone

[NEWS] 120705 ‘Dr. Jin’ Kim Jaejoong, Secret To Acting Is ‘Tearful Eyes’?

[NEWS] 120705 ‘Dr. Jin’ Kim Jaejoong, Secret To Acting Is ‘Tearful Eyes’?

He entered hurriedly. The man who apologized several times and sat down was actor Kim Jaejoong. He is the JYJ member who is acting as an upright military officer, Kim Kyung Tak in MBC’s Dr Jin.

In the afternoon of Jul. 5, a press conference for MBC’s Dr Jin was held in Iljuk-myeon, Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. Even though filming was behind schedule and Kim Jaejoong was about 30 minutes late, we could see his look as he answered questions in the remaining time.

Kim Jaejoong “Ji Sung? Jin Yi Han? I like the both of them… Are there any other questions?”

Comparing to the usual actor, the time that Kim Jaejoong has with a horse is as much as the time he acts as a military officer in the drama. Kim Jaejoong said, “There are about one or two horses. As I rode on the same horse continuously, I became fond of it.” Hence, there was a buzz that he even rode the horse during the break and showed warm-hearted affection for it. When asked about the charm of horse riding, he smiled and said, “When it is cold, I feel warm thanks to the body temperature of the horse. When it is hot, it is cooling because of the wind.”

On receiving favourable comments about his stable performance in his first historical drama challenge, Kim Jaejoong said shyly, “It’s all thanks to the screenwriter and director. I’ve watched all the JYJ members act and I think I’m still ranked the last in acting. Even though my acting ability is lacking, I think I can still concentrate on acting the character. The viewers seem to be able to understand the character well and I want to thank them.”

However, he also depended on the know-how. He said, “In the beginning of the drama, the director frequently told me to show sadness in my eyes even when I’m smiling. Recently, I’ve been keeping his advice in mind and I’m trying my best in portraying tearful eyes during sad scenes.”

Kim Jaejoong has also become closer to his actor colleagues and is enjoying himself during filming. Most notably, he is close to actor Jin Yi Han who acts as his close friend, Hong Yong Hwi in the drama. Kim Jaejoong said, “We are originally close to each other, but we’ve grown closer because there are many scenes where we’ve to appear together. Even though he is eight years older than me, he treats me comfortably like a friend and we contact each other often.”

When asked candidly to choose who does he like better – SBS’s Protect the Boss’s Ji Sung or Jin Yi Han, he evoked laughter from the audience by saying, “I like them both…This is a tricky question. Are there any other questions?”

Lee Bumsoo “I want to give Kim Jaejoong a high score in acting”

Kim Jaejoong’s senior actors have given him a pass for his acting ability. Actor Lee Bumsoo said, “He sincerely wants to express the scenes that he is given. To concentrate on reaching his goal, he watches the actor’s acting and reacts to it. I think this is how actors learn from each other. I want to give Kim Jaejoong a high score in acting.”

This was his reason – “When Kim Jaejoong-ssi acts, it’s nice to see how he ‘feels’. He acts with his sincere feelings. He tries hard to convey [the character’s feelings] and focus on it.” Lee Bumsoo said, “It is good to see him concentrating and working hard to convey the feelings. I look forward to the scenes we have together.”

Lee Bumsoo said, “Kim Jaejoong’s fans expressed their dismay that if the number of fans I have increases, the number of Kim Kyung Tak’s fans will decrease. I want to let them know that the number of fans I have has nothing to do with the number of Kim Jaejoong’s fans.” The people in the hall laughed. Kim Jaejoong replied tactfully, “I want to say that the number of fans that I have is unrelated to Lee Bumsoo sunbae’s number of fans.”

Lastly, Kim Jaejoong expressed his resolution to finish filming the remaining episodes of Dr Jin. He said, “Kim Kyung Tak may be a heart-wrenching and foolish character to viewers, but he’s only trying to protect his own belief. I think you’ll see his pain if you only look at the surrounding situation.” He also asked for the viewers’ interest and said, “During the times when he is protecting his belief, instead of feeling sad for Kyung Tak, believe that he’ll become stronger.”
