Korean football star Park Ji-sung is set to participate in a charity football match in Vietnam tonight to help boost the development of the sport in Asia.

The 30-year-old Manchester United midfielder will join 15 other footballers in an “Asian Dream Cup” football match against Vietnamese club Navibank Saigon at Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City tonight.

The match is sponsored by Korean company Doosan Heavy Industries and is the first project of JS Foundation, a charity foundation Park established in February. The foundation previously announced plans to hold annual charity football matches around Asia.

Park said he chose Vietnam to be the foundation’s first destination because many people told him that football is really popular there.

The former Korean national team captain also added that the Southeast Asian nation caught his eye because it used to be divided, like Korea is today.

“I want to give hope to young kids in Vietnam who love football,” Park said on Monday at Incheon International Airport before departing to Vietnam. “Asian football is growing fast and the gap between the football powerhouses [and less-developed football nations] is getting closer. If I can give Asian players some kind of motivation, I think they will have the desire to become great football players.”

Meanwhile, Park’s JS Foundation said that all revenue from the charity football match will be donated to help youth players in Vietnam. The foundation also said it will expand its youth football development program and support cultural exchanges for football players around Asia.

Prior to the charity match, JS Foundation held a youth football clinic yesterday, with more than a thousand people gathered to watch Park and other football players teach some skills to 60 youth players. The foundation also invited Korean idol group JYJ and actress Han Hye-jin to promote the match in Vietnam.

Park will play with several Korea national team members – such as AS Monaco striker Park Chu-young, Bolton Wanders winger Lee Chung-yong, Celtic FC midfielder Ki Sung-yueng and national-team retiree Lee Young-pyo – as well as some of his Japanese football friends. They include former Japanese international Kazuyoshi Miura, Hidetoshi Nakata, a 34-year-old retired two-time AFC Player of the Year winner and Grenoble FC midfielder Daisuke Matsui, who once played with Park on the Kyoto Purple Sanga of the J-League.

Miura is considered the face of Japanese football after scoring 55 goals for his country in international competitions. He still plays for Yokohama FC at 44-years-old.

Park said he also contacted Korean football player Koo Ja-cheol to join him in Vietnam, but Koo’s German club, Wolfsburg, denied his request to go.

In addition, Park’s closest Manchester United teammate, Patrice Evra, said he will not be able to join Park due to commitments with the French national team. The 30-year-old left back was invited but promised Park he would play in next year’s charity match.

Korean-Japanese Jong Tae-se, who plays for German club Vfl Bochum – internationally for North Korea – was also invited by Park but is not expected to play in the game due to a right knee injury. He will, however, travel with the charity squad.

Park said he personally contacted the players via phone and e-mail and asked them to participate. He added that he hopes the star-studded charity football match will be a catalyst for Asian football development.

[Translation] 110613 JYJ Busan Concert – “Our Fans Are Our Family, Not Just A Regular Audience”

Thank you Guys. Momma Cha

On June 11 and 12, JYJ held their last stop of their World Tour Concert in Busan. With the theme set as ‘A Creative Challenge’, the concert attracted over 17 000 fans. Tickets for both days were completely sold out, once again proving JYJ’s popularity.

During the concert, the members displayed their live-singing abilities without any restrictions or regret. Fans sang the songs along with the members, crying and calling out the members’ names at the same time. Seeing their fans crying, Park Yoochun was unable to withhold his tears any longer.

Towards the end of the concert, JYJ expressed their feelings to the crowd: “The number of fans that turned out for this concert was above and beyond what we originally imagined, so we want to thank you for that. We want to express our deepest gratitude for the fans who have continued to unconditionally support and love us. We feel that our fans who come to our concerts are family rather than a regular audience. In the future, we will continue to work hard to show an even more mature JYJ.”

NEWS 110613 JYJ, Having Extraordinary Passion for Soccer…

[News] 110613 JYJ, having extraordinary passion for soccer, flew abroad for Vietnam’s charity match on the 13th‏

Looking mysterious. Have a good time performing and instructing, Guys.. Momma Cha

JYJ expressed their special feelings for soccer.

JYJ went abroad on the 13th afternoon, in order to attend the “1st Asian Dream Cup” that would be held at Vietnam Ho Chi Minh City’s Thong Nhat Stadium on the 15th. “Asian Dream Cup” was a charitable soccer match organized by community welfare organization JS Foundation, which was founded by Manchester United FC’s Park Ji Sung and JYJ will present a “high time” congratulatory performance. JYJ will not only performed in Vietnam, they will also participate in “Youth Soccer Consultation”, meeting the children as a one-day coach.

JYJ’s management company revealed that fans have expressed concerns of JYJ’s schedules after all the official schedules ended. The management company said, “The ‘JYJ World Tour Concert 2011′ that was held on the 11th and 12th at Busan Indoor Stadium concluded JYJ’s official schedules. Right now, the members are going to concentrate on their individual activities. As member Kim Junsu is the captain of FC MEN, he has been extra attentive towards soccer. So does the other members, therefore upon hearing such a goodwill-themed match, they decided to join in altogether.”

After ending Vietnam’s activities and returning on the 16th, the members are to carry on with their individual activities with Kim Junsu in musical “Mozart”, Park Yoochun in “Miss Ripley” and Kim Jaejoong is currently in talks with a drama that is slated to be broadcasted in the later part of this year.

Editors Note: 110613 Telisha Shaw/ ‘Telisu’s “Our Secret”

Editor’s Note: 110613 Telisha Shaw/ Telisu’s “Our Secret”

I am posting this song for evaluation in reaction to the controversy that could easily get out-of-hand concerning whether our Junsu and Telisha Shaw have a relationship beyond the stage of the JYJ concerts. As friends and performers, they have every right to a relationship. As anything beyond friends, they would be consenting, yet unwise adults.

Workplace romances are traditionally tragic, and in the case of celebrities, potentially damaging.

Where the problem comes from is the tone and implication of the song “Our Secret”. If Telisha has any respect for JYJ, she should have been wiser in her choice of lyrics as it would be an instant assumption that she is referring to Junsu in the song. This is because it is an understanding among the fandom that they are friends, thus the origin of the name ‘Telisu’. What kind of friends is the issue here, and only they can answer that question.

The song itself is extremely trite; immature; suggestive, and, I’m sorry sweetheart, not the best musically. Including references to the crew room, to LA, and to an Austin Martin infer that the person is a part of the show, and has means. You are doing whomever you fantasize about an injustice here.

In light of the fact that the song is advertised as a fantasy, I am concluding that it is a fantasy on Telisha’s part or at least on the part of the songwriter, albeit a tasteless one, and to give you some credit, Telisha, your inference when speaking of Junsu in your interview is that he is still influenced by his parents. That’s a good thing. Thank you for that inside information.

Telisha, if you want to repay your friendship with JYJ in any way, I feel sad that you have chosen a method that could harm either one or more of them, even if it is with their consent. It is thoughtless, and, frankly speaking, since I believe that we know Junsu better than we know you — he gets the benefit of the doubt hands down. Someday all of JYJCY will commit to a permanent relationship, and I wish them well. Some may already be there, but until they deem it appropriate to announce it to all of the fandom, our role is only that of observer and caring supporter.

For now, Junsu remains my Duckie and that rests my case. Love you, Telisha. Life moves on. Momma Cha

Hi Everyone I have made it no secret…

Hi Everyone.
I have made it no secret that I am a Christian. My avatar should be a clue. In that spirit I want to wish each and everyone, including our mancubs, a wonderful Easter celebration. This is one of my favorite Easter video/songs.

You guessed it–it is not JYJ or TVXQ, but I do listen to other genres. My love for our guys arises out of my love for Christ. Happy Easter, Momma Cha

Editors Note:

It is always so exciting to see our mancubs working hard at what they love best–music and dancing. The mancub’s reference btw is from Junglebook. I have always loved the character of Mowgli. He is strong and resourceful, and willing to learn new things. That is how I see our guys.
Even though they also act in dramas and do photoshoots and etc, I believe that their hearts are always in their music and dance, and that is where they feel most fulfilled. I am the same.
I am looking forward to more years with these wonderful young men. Momma Cha

[News] JYJ Fans Stand up against the Tyranny of Management Companies

JYJ Fans Stand up against the Tyranny of Management Companies
After the suspension of group JYJ’s contract, they remain blocked from appearing on broadcasts… Appeals [by fans] to “let them resume their normal activities”

» An Internet broadcasting station that allows JYJ fans to meet the three members originating from idol group Dong Bang Shin Ki, ilovejyj (ilovejyj.com) was launched on the 3rd (top picture). ‘JYJ Fan Union’ set up advertisements voicing support on the 7th in metro stations, such as Apgujeong and Hongik University.

Opening an Internet station…submitting a petition to the court…even public advertisements

On the third of this month, the ‘ilovejyj (ilovejyj.com)’ Internet broadcasting station opened its doors. On the hour of its inaugural broadcast, 8pm, the server crashed due to sudden increase of viewers trying to access the site. JYJ fans had eagerly rushed in all at once. Consequently, the first broadcast was pushed back a day with continuing broadcasts on the 5th and 6th.

The reason why this Internet station is the centre of attention is because it represents an attempt by fans to circumvent the tyranny of the big-scale entertainment management companies that are deliberately blocking JYJ’s media appearances via an alternative route to connect the singers to the public. All the resources and manpower needed to open this project was gathered through the ‘donations’ of fans. Some 70 fans participated in the productions through their ‘talent donations’ and divided themselves into a writing team of 13 people, an imaging team of 3 people, a webpage design team of 7 people, a sound team of 3 people, and a Chinese-Japanese translation team of 7 people.

JYJ is the team made up of Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun and Kim Junsu, who were once active in the idol group ‘Dong Bang Shin Ki’. These three filed a lawsuit against their management company, SM Entertainment, requesting the invalidation of their exclusive contract with the company, revealing their 13-year lifetime contract and the unfair profit distributions that saw them receiving a paltry 0.4~1% of their entire album sales.

JYJ have been walking a thorny path ever since. They released their first full-length album, ‘The Beginning’, in October of last year but have been unable to show their face on mainstream television. One producer of a variety programme on a mainstream channel confessed, “Because our relations with the big entertainment companies might become uncomfortable, we variety show producers are unable to even to think of inviting JYJ.”

Even given the efforts of fans to get JYJ back on public broadcasts, the circumstances aren’t good. On February 21st, the Seoul Central District Court civil cases department 51 (Judge Kim Daewoong) declared, “SM Entertainment shall not interfere with the entertainment activities of JYJ” and “each time this order is violated, [SM] shall pay a penalty of 20,000,000 won (roughly 20,000 USD) for each offense” in an official compulsory injunctive order, but nothing has changed. A cable channel, which was slated to broadcast a ‘JYJ reality programme’ in the middle of February, ended up unilaterally cancelling it.

Running the Internet station is also proving to be anything but smooth. On the 5th, when Grand National Party Member of Parliament Jeon Yeoh-ok appeared to give a congratulatory message, fans started saying, “this will damage JYJ’s image” and sharply criticised it. The administrators of the Internet station issued an apology on the 8th and has currently suspended its operations.

However, the pressure to get JYJ on to public mainstream broadcast is mounting as time passes. On February 28th, 86,418 foreign fans of JYJ submitted to the Seoul Central District Court a ‘petition for the recognition of JYJ’s legal rights.’ ‘JYJ Fan Union’ has put up ads in 21 stations of the Seoul metro, such as Apgujeong and Hongik University, with the words “JYJ, we support your youth” and “Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, Kim Junsu, ride the express train to mainstream TV.”

110225 Fans –JYJ Internet Radio Station

Internet radio station that is built by JYJ fans is already finalized and will start its first airing on March 3rd in the country.

According to an official of this JYJ internet radio station dedicated to broadcast JYJ’s songs, the radio is going to be active on coming March 3rd at 8 pm for more than two hours long.

In commemoration of the first airing, each day in the one week special will be decorated with moment of celebration footages of Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu’s friends from various fields such as comedian, actors, broadcasters, singers, and musical actors. A fanmade music video containing JYJ-related pictures that were sent from fans world-wide will also be released.

After the first broadcast episode, the radio station is scheduled to operate for 1 hour and can be accessed from many different countries.

This JYJ broadcast network is established as private broadcast station dedicated to JYJ by fans, for around a while fans have worked together to promote the website as well as recruit all staffs needed to run an internet radio including web designer, DJ, and writers from all over the country.

Due to conflicts with former agency SM Entertainment, JYJ’s broadcasting activities have been pretty much disrupted, leaving some fans in concern. This ‘fanmade’ internet radio station is indeed an example that shows huge influence of a powerful fanbase that surprised the officials.
