Translation/Interview: Jaejoong, Multi-Talented. Of Acting, and Cha Muwon in Relation to Himself

[Trans] Jaejoong, Multi-Talented. Of Acting, and Cha Muwon in Relation to Himself Interview

JYJ’s “Multi-Talented Hyung” Kim Jaejoong. Continuing from Directing, This Time Acting. He Knocks On the TV Screen as a 2nd Generation Chaebol.

At the time of the interview with JYJ last year, the other two members, Junsu and Yoochun, all singularly pointed to Jaejoong to call him “multi-talented hyung.” They also made assurances that because Jaejoong has so many talents, his true worth will start to reveal itself one by one starting the next year. The predictions by the members hit the mark. Kim Jaejoong was the last one among JYJ to begin his solo activities, but he has been the most diverse. After acting as the executive director of JYJ’s World Tour Concert, he recently also took on the directing for the gymnastics gala show of Sohn Yeonjae, the fairy of the rhythmic gymnastics. As long as he is out, he plans to show off himself as an actor starting August. Kim Jaejoong knocks on the TV scene in the role of Cha Muwon, the second generation of the preeminent chaebol groups of Korea, in the SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama that will first air on August 3rd—Protect the Boss. He is a perfect man, who lacks not physical beauty, wealth, character, or anything else.

“The character is called a Cold City Man, but he is not unconditionally cold and cool-headed. He is an innocent man—who, even though he has a competitive mindset against his older cousin Jihun when it comes to work, shows a goofy side when they are together. He is cold only on the outside—when you get to know him, he is someone with a warm heart.”

The love triangle that will unfold surrounding the female lead Eunsul, played by Choi Kanghee, will also be a sight to see.

“Because it has not been that long since filming began, the character of Cha Muwon is not yet sharply defined. The inside of me is distracted and frantic. I had many conversations with the director-nim and the writer-nim. The acting is acting, but it seems that they were looking for Cha Muwon from inside of me, through everyday conversation. From episode 3 and 4, you will be able to catch a glimpse inside Cha Muwon of the true person of Kim Jaejoong.”

This is not his first acting. He stepped out onto acting for the first time with the collaborative movie between Japan and Korea of 2009, Heaven’s Postman. He also collaborated with Japan’s stars such as Ueno Juri and Eita in Japan’s Fuji TV drama Sunao Ni Narenakute in 2010. However he emphasized that his beginning as a real actor is with Protect the Boss.

“Heaven’s Postman was my debut work but despite that I was not able to have the mindset or the preparation fit for an actor. I went to filming without preparation, having merely memorized the lines in a rush—that was not respect due to acting. As for Sunao Ni Narenakute, I am satisfied with it because I was able to go into it with a sufficient period of preparation. But I do feel a bit wanting since the ratings were not as high as hoped for. Protect the Boss is a work that I am going into after having gone through a series of processes, and as such my attachment to the project is large. My heart is also fluttering at the thought that I am showing the work to the domestic fans.”

Kim Jaejoong discarded the thoughts that he would do overly well. He will be satisfied if he, without awkwardness, merely melds in well with the other great/superb sunbaes who are appearing in the drama. His acting teacher Ahn Naesang told him: “You should not act as if it is acting. Do not act as if it is acting.” The meaning of those words is only vague, but he plans to dwell and reexamine it as he keeps acting. Right now his head is completely filled with acting.

“At the time of Yoochun’s Miss Ripley all of the members together caught the first episode. As for myself I will definitely not have that happen. Even now, when I show something to the members, I have the nervous tension that is higher than to any other. I plan to watch it alone, in hiding. Haha.”

For Jaejoong, who says that it took him too long even to decide just what kind of musical style he likes, the question of what kind of an actor he wishes to become is yet difficult.

“It is only the beginning yet. Now is the first start of a new challenge, and as such, I want to come to know the answer as I do it step by step.”

Translation 110630 Kim Junsu, “I Would Like To Act Out Musicals in Theatres Too.

[Trans] 110630 Kim Junsu, “I would like to act out musicals in theatres too.”‏

“Falling in love with musicals, next year, the year after next, I would like to act out musicals in theatres.” Moving onward from Xiah Junsu to Kim Junsu, he met us in a cafe at Cheongdam-dong on the 29th.

Upon talking about musicals, this new actor who debuted in musical field for 2 years would passionately discussed with us, but when facing burdensome inquiries, he would be alike to the idol singer who debuted for 8 years, displaying his experiences and confidence.

Within the idols who challenged musicals, Kim Junsu is definitely the topic. Other than the subsequent lead acting of great works, the tickets that were sold out within a short time, the high performance fee etc, were the topics of discussion.

Even though the raging topics, why did you decided to step in with musicals from the start?

“It’s just the right timing. Although I did received projects from movies, dramas and there are free slots in between schedules…. but compared to anything, music is still the most important. So I was thinking since it a must to have music, why not take a try at musicals? When I first acted in musicals, I did not think that I would end up loving it. (laughs)”

After the debut musical ‘Mozart’, you were asked to lead in ‘Tears of Heaven’, this simply is a follow-up victory.

“I seems to have slightly understood what musical is about until recently. In the beginning, it felt very tiring even though there’s no mistake made, now I’m slowly learning through the amicable cooperation with the other actors… and starts to notice the reactions of the audience. Thus the musical performances for every day is different.” He continued introducing the so-called ’3 seconds difference’ on stage. “There is a scene in Mozart where I followed the Baroness, how many seconds should I back-faced the audience after finishing my lines so that I can display to the audience the feel that I wanted? The most suitable timing is about 3 seconds. (laughs)”

Other than this, he was often pointed out that his delivery of lyrics was not as strong as professional musical actors.

“Singing in musical is totally different from singing songs. For example, the usage of ‘banding’ (a singing technique where the note was dragged and blended into the next word) was not appropriate. The lyrics has to be sang out one word by one word. Compared to other actors, maybe it was not easily differentiate but it would still be better that l changed my way of singing.”

As a musical actor and actively as an idol singer, do you feel that you have slowly became closer to any character?

“But if I were to stand on JYJ’s stage now and to sing with my way of singing in musical, it would probably be a torture to the members. Even my hand signals has slowly increased. (laughs) I think for me right now, it is to slowly forwarding towards the way of ‘Even if I was a singer, I’m also a musical actor.’ Just as though there’s a switch in between the two, where I can freely move around.”

There were a lot of controversies. Like the rumours of ten millions of performance fees and the ability to become the male lead due to the investment by the company (you belonged) etc. When asked about the question of ‘idol glamour’, Kim Junsu surprisingly gave a calm and outright attitude while giving an answer.

“I understand that the choir department actors were able to stand on stage after working hard for a long while. I received this ‘gift’ of being the lead actor after my hardwork as a singer, this is at least how my thought is. As for the high performance fee rumours, I think it’s not only in musical that there are such rumours right? No matter it be drama or CF, there were many issues for the receipt of fees that broke records too… It’s just that the musical industry was so bad and thus the unique appearance of such rumours, right?”

Do you have any contributions that you wanted to do or ambitions that you have in the future involvement into musicals?

“Next year, or the year after, I would like to act in theatres. If I can be ambassador-like and create the effect of supporting musicals, it would be a rather grateful thing. But to do till such, the first step should be having audience who watch, and to have the love of the public, then the public performance can be a success, and followed on by more investors. Therefore, the production company and actors will be able to create a more fruitful work, and afterwhich wouldn’t there be a possible promotion to overseas?”

Due to the contract issue between JYJ and ex-company SM, the broadcasting activities were restricted by their contract. (T/N: JYJ was not directly restricted due to contractual problems. Refer to legal news.)

“It’s currently still in an unclear state. Due to the difficulties currently, we just have to try working in other directions, this is very exhausting. If there were things we wished to do, we’d have to think about how to do it in another way, and then not to give up on any hope.”

He is currently a young adult of 24 years old, are there any plans for army enlistment? He jokingly replied, “When performing the story in ‘Tears of Heaven’, I ever thought, ‘Why not bring forward the enlistment, it actually would be not a bad experience, isn’t it!’.”

“I received a health check last February and of course it’s a must to enlist for army. (laughs) The results for the health check is 3rd grade (note: 3rd grade is for person who had injuries but still able to be enlisted in army and an approximate of 22 months.) There’s a bit of disappointment for the results. I’m a man afterall, and has the pride of a man, I thought the results will be of 1st grade. Hopefully I can be enlisted after maximizing the activities I can do.”

We asked about the greatest change after involving in musicals.

“During the empty period (lawsuit with SM), musical came to me, and now I only listened to music from musicals. I hope to become an actor who is able to inspire and touch the audience.”

[Translation] 110619 Jung Sun Ah Praises Kim Junsu In Her Interview

It looks like each member of the ‘Mozart quartet’ has his own unique character?

“They’re different. Each of them are different.”

#2 Kim Junsu(Xiahzart): “Wow~ That kid is really a prodigy. That word explains him well. I think he’s really intelligent. Compared to last year’s performances, he wasn’t able to rehearse much for the encore performance because he was also holding a world tour in between. He came to about two rehearsals and did a run-through and he was so good at it. There were a lot of changes in the lyrics from last year’s performances, but he was perfect.“

“He talks to me on the phone and we chat on Kakao Talk often. I really like him. But it’s not only me; other ‘aunties’… like Young Suk and Lee Gyeong Mi, really like him too. This is confidential.. but when we’re in the make up room, there’s a monitor that let’s us watch what Junsu’s doing on stage. Whenever Junsu comes on, we all say, “How is he so good?”, “Awwww~” and “Look at him, look at him!” Gyeong Mi’s love for Junsu is amazing.”

(omitted)

Two of your husbands are older than you and two are younger than you.

“I don’t know about Junsu, but I can feel the age difference with Dong Seok, though they’re both younger than me. He’s quite handsome on stage. Hahaha!”

(omitted)

“Could there be anyone (who came from being a celebrity to a musical actor) who loves musicals more than I do? For people who have come from the TV screen to the musical stage, some may see musicals as just a job that brings home the paycheck. But how much do those people really love musicals? Of course, Junsu is an exception. From when I was little, I’ve always dreamed of becoming a musical actress. Now, I’m living it and wanting to make it my entire life.”

(omitted)

Who is the actor who has had the best chemistry with you till now? Just so you know, a fan of Kim Junsu asked this question.

“Hahaha! First of all, I’d just like to say that I have horrible memory. When a concert has an encore performance, people usually remember how other actors were in the initial performance, but I can’t. My mom says, ‘How do you memorize your lines with that awful memory of yours?’ I’m better at momentary concentration.”

“At first, I worked really well with Gun Myeong. At that time, I didn’t know much so it must have been hard on him. I work really well with Junsu too. I thought we wouldn’t have great chemistry together but we surprisingly do. It’s because Junsu’s so witty.“

Trans Interview #1 Kim Jaejoong Says “TVXQ The…

[Trans] Interview #1: Kim Jaejoong Says, “TVXQ, The Problem Wasn’t Between The Members”

For TVXQ, the nation’s top idol group, July of 2009 is an unforgettable moment in time. The group split up when three members, Xiah Junsu, Micky Yoochun and YoungWoong Jaejoong, filed an exclusive contract suspension injunction against SM Entertainment on the grounds that, ‘A 13-year contract is unjust’. Fans who had fallen for these five ‘pin-up boys’ were devastated; everything had looked fine on the outside when it fact, the inside had rotted and collapsed. These three members formed a new group JYJ and chose a path that was independent from their former agency. But the environment that surrounds them in the entertainment industry is not a friendly one. There are times when they must sit in dismay under the scrutiny of cold gazes.

Two years after the group split, we invited Jaejoong to an interview with us over a few glasses of beer to represent his fellow JYJ members as they have successfully hit off their World Tour in Thailand. He showcased all his talents this performance by taking on the role of the concert’s director. You could still see the feeling of relief etched on his face from completing the concert successfully; his expression was bright. What stuck out the most was his white and smooth skin.

▶JYJ’s Concert in Thailand, Jaejoong’s Debut as a Director

-I heard that the concerts in Thailand were a hit.

“It was all thanks to our fans. Though there are parts that I wish I could go back and fix, I was so happy that we created a performance for the sole purpose of singing our songs. I felt a surge of emotions back then.”

-I saw that people cheered the loudest for you during the concert…

“No way. (laughter) But if that’s the case, then I think it was because of the red, see-through outfit that I wore. (laughter)”

-Then what about the outfits of the other members?

“Park Yoochun has the manliest image in JYJ so he wore blue, and I matched Kim Junsu with green because of his humorous image. I wanted to represent my slightly epicene image.”

-You must have had priority because you were the director.

“(laughter) That’s right. Because it’s all up to the director. I want to keep directing in the future.”

-We’re having an interview today over a few glasses of beer, but what’s your usual drinking capacity?

“I’m a moderate drinker. But when I have a lot to drink, my face gets really red. There are times when I have a glass of sake or beer when I’m at home alone and can’t seem to fall asleep.”

▶His mobile phone start-up screen is still a picture of TVXQ

-Let’s start off with a difficult question. What is TVXQ to you?

“There are still a few rough patches to fix. But I can assure you that the problem wasn’t amongst the members. I believe there were lies and misunderstandings that surrounded us. Personally, I think that we could still straighten out all the misunderstandings. I could send the other members a text right now if you wanted me to. Actually, the start-up screen on my phone is still a picture of TVXQ.”

-You must have felt very sad during the concert.

“The thought ‘It would have been better if the two other members were with us. I’m sure we’d be making greater music then.’ was running through my head.”

-Any other regrets?

“It’s been seven since TVXQ debuted in 2004 with the single ‘Hug’. We even have at least 100 songs that we performed in Japan. But we can’t sing those songs anymore. It’s so regrettable.”

During our conversation, he showed me the picture on his start-up screen. He even confessed that he listens to TVXQ albums often, though his friends tell him not to. The funny thing is that he has six mobile phones in total. He said, “It’s because I get so many prank calls,” and “I thought that it would be better to use five or six phones at a time instead of changing my number on a regular basis.“

▶One hot photo: the luxurious interior of your house? “I saw and ordered it online.”

-There are a lot of your photos that are becoming a hot topic these days, but what’s this about a photo of you as a high schooler with your date?

“Ah, I saw that too. I think it was in the Myeongdong area in Seoul and I’m sure it was when I was in high school because it was before my debut. I was in fact on a date with my girlfriend. But it was such a long time ago and I haven’t been in touch with her for a while.”

-What about the photo you took with Kang Yebin?

“Oh, that was at my birthday party on January 26th. I met with some friends at a bar near Apgujeong, Seoul and that’s when I saw her for the first time. I didn’t know her very well but I got to meet her because she had come with a friend of hers who was a screenwriter. She was actually sitting way back and I was sitting up front, but the camera angle made it seem like we were leaning on each other. (laughter)”

-Who else was there at your party?

“Most of them were my non-celebrity friends. A few celebrities who came were Hong Seok Chun and Narsha.”

-The luxurious interior of your new house also became a hot topic.

“I created the theme myself. But it’s not luxurious at all. 80% of the things in the house are cheap products that you can order online. I really like decorating rooms. When I was living with Kim Hyun Joong, I was in charge of the interior design of the house.”
▶He used to live with Kim Hyun Joong but now he lives alone

-I heard that you used to live with Kim Hyun Joong from ‘Boys Over Flowers’.

“I lived with him for about a year till the second half of last year. Early this year, Hyun Joong moved to Cheongdam-dong and I moved to Jamshil.“

-How did you meet Hyun Joong?

“I got to know him by chance before our debut. We’ve been friends ever since.”

-It must be that handsome guys have some sort of connection.

“I don’t think that’s it… (laughter). When I first saw Hyun Joong, I thought he looked kind of pitiful. He was a lanky kid who looked like he didn’t have any friends. (laughter) I think that’s why I felt more affectionate towards him.”

-Your friendship with Park Yong Ha was quite special.

“My heart still feels a pang of pain when I think about him. It happened while I was travelling to the US after our Tokyo Dome performance in Japan. As soon as I arrived at the airport in the US, I got a call from Yong Ha. He asked me where I was; I told him I was in the US and he said, ‘Ah, okay, good luck with your concert and we should meet up for a glass of soju soon’. Who would have thought that those would be his last words to me… And then two days later, I heard that he had ended his life.“

Jaejoong’s 20 Question Interview at Hero Festival 2011

Q1: Three important things in interpersonal relationships:

Networking is really important. My friends disappeared a lot (meaning recently I’ve lost a lot of friends). So I spend more time at home these days. So I’m thinking about meeting new people. This is a really good question for this time [in my life]. Networking. It’s important.

It’s not like you can make new friends that easily just because I try to meet more people. Recently I’ve met a lot of friends with same interests or friends in the same field. When you meet someone, if you’re a good listener and understand that person well, and that person is looking for a friend who trusts him and listens to him well… That’s why people look for me. It sounded like I was bragging.

I think that’s the best method. If you really pay attention and listen to what they say and answer/talk with them with sincerity, then it’ll work.
You’ll be able to become a friend that [people/your friends] will feel truly happy to spend time with.

Ah~ it’s not much fun when I MC alone like this, right? Hehe
Please hold on a second, I have to pick the [next] question.
Oh, this seems like a good question.

Q2: What would you be like in 10 yrs? Please send a “video letter” with love to yourself, 10 years older.

In 10 years, probably, in my option, I’ll look older in terms of outer appearances. Uh… Honestly, as I age, I get younger/I age backwards. Probably everyone experienced acting like a grownup when you were young. And as you grow up, you find your good points or strenghts. You also realize your negative points or weaknesses, and as you do, you learn to depend on others. Uh… over time… you become more like a child over time? I feel that now. Maybe it will be even more so. (meaning maybe I’ll be even more like a baby as I age because I’m learning to depend on others). If I’m married with a child, I won’t be like that though… huh~

To myself in 10 years (video letter to self, 10 yrs older)
Ummm. “JaeJoong. Jaejoong, what are you up to?
Would you be singing…acting… or… living as a regular office worker with a family..?
I don’t know, anyway, I want you to be happy, be really happy so that you are the type of person who can make a lot of people around you happy, too.
Ha… and fans in front of you…I hope they’ll still be all there… so do a good job! Hehehehe

And I’ll answer the next question.

Q3: You seem like you don’t need a lot of sleep. What do you usually do at night when everyone’s sleeping?

Not much. Uh, I surf the internet, look at the city nightscape, drink a bit, sometimes read…
Uh… I talk with friends or my manager when they come visit me, uh… I really don’t do much.
That’s why I tweet late at night often.

I’m exactly like you. You stare at the bright monitor, into the wee hours, hiding from your parents, with the door closed and lights out… look at various things, like, maybe racy stuff, too . heh, or pictures of entertainers I like. Or even pictures of me.

I… uh… this is a real honest answer. I look for comments you guys leave on materials (meaning pics/vids, etc) about me. It’s emabarassing. But other entertainers do this, too. It’s a lie [if other entertainers say] they don’t.
Oh and, entertainers, behind backs (secretly), at personal gatherins, they talk about that kind of stuff. So please give me good feedback. Ah~ I’m embarassed.

Q4: What is your favorite personal belonging you cherish the most? Is there anything you always bring with you when you travel overseas?

Things I always bring with me… If it’s for 3 nights 4 days, even if I don’t wear them, I have to bring 3 sets of clothes. Because, this is rather funny, a while back, I went abroad for work with the members.[i] One of the members wore the same clothes [at the airport] when he left and came back. So did I.
But [fans] were picking on me only.
Ah, not exactly picking on me, but [fans were] saying “JaeJoong, why do you always wear same clothes

I mix and match my clothes.
Uhhh, I don’t know, in your mind Jaejoong likes and is very interested in clothes and fashion, but I mix and match my clothes very often.
Recently, I wote 3 clothes for two weeks.
Are you shocked?
My lazyness-ism (Korean slang, the practice of lazyness as a way of life) is getting worse.
So I don’t change my clothes that often these days.
I change my underwears very often, though. Heh

Q5: You make eye contact with fans more often than other members. What is your know-how?

Know-how… when fans take pictures, they just, how can I say this? When fans look at us from the audience is very different from when they take pictures of us. When they are videotaping or taking pictures of me, they look like a reporter that’s set on getting a scoop.

Also, you know how there’s a red light in your digial camera, if I see the red light while on the stage, I somehow look at the red light even though we have to look [the other way].

Sometimes I’m surprised [that I make contact very often]. When I realized that there are so many pictures of me making eye contact [with the camera/video camera], I thought ‘oh, I guess I look [at the camera] a lot’. Then without knowing, I became self-concious about that. So… if there are a lot of cameras,.. from now on… I’ll look at more [cameras]…

How many questions were there? How many? How many did I answer so far?
Hmmm, six. How many did I do till now? I think about six. How many?
Ummm, I’ll answer the sixth question.
(He’s talking with the cameraman to see how many questions he answered so far)

Mmm, hmmm, yes… uhh…

Q6: I pride myself on being your fan because you’re an artist, a singer-songwriter. It looks like you’re working on composing songs these days. Which place is the best place for you to write music? Which style of music is the easiest to write? When you have trouble writing lyrics, what do you usually do? How many songs are there that you already made? How many are you working on right now?

Um, this question’s really long.
First of all, honestly, uh…yes, I’ve always thought this. I’m not partial to creating my own music all the time. Rather than feeling like I have to write music, I write music when I feel like it. Because, for example, if I write music because I feel pressured to, then writing music becomes a job rather than something I enjoy doing. I’m a singer, but I become a composer [if I write music because I feel pressured to].

So I want to focus more on singing, and then I’d like to feel that I want to write music and then compose songs for fans… I think that would be better.
I usually work from home.

As for lyrics, I don’t know. I don’t compose nor write lyrics first. I arrange first and then compose. If I don’t like how it’s arranged, if I don’t like the theme, I throw away that number in the middle of the process. There are countless number of songs that I threw away this way. But I still have some songs left.

I lost a hard disk [hard drive] in Japan while moving to another dorm, so I lost about 30 songs. If I counted [the songs I lost at that time], I’d have quite a lot of songs I wrote.

I have a lot of songs I wrote for you to listen to in the future. There are some songs that’s completed already. So please look forward to them. You say you take pride.. in me being a song-writer… so I’ll work hard, work harder in the future.

Next question. There are many difficult questions.

Q7: Are you still managing your body? (meaning watching what you eat, exercising, etc) It looks like you go to gym. Please teach us some simple indoor exercises you do that fans can do with ease.

Ah, I’ll show you an exercise that would be really good for you guys. Please pick something that’s between 0.5 kg and 1kg, like a dumbell, or a heavy bag’s ok, too. Grab it with your hands. Prbably you all know this, push it forward and hold for 3 secs, pull and hold for 3 secs.

If you keep repeating, eh, this…*put his hands on his chest*… when you see pictures, you know…that… you know… valley between your breasts (cleavage)… here… like this.
The reason why I recommend this to you is… please don’t think anything weird *laugh* ehhh, it’s not like that!

If you do this… *covers mouth and laughs* it’s not anything weird. Eh, it’s something you can do easily when you don’t have any exercise equipments at home.

For example, *picks up Jiji* when you have a cat *does the excerise with Jiji* look how easy it is to do this. You can play with your pet and do exercise. *repeats the exericse a few times then turns Jiji around to face the camera* Like this if you look from the front *repeats the exercise muttering something* But Jiji… doesn’t like this at all. So I’ll introduce Jiji later.

I’ll answer the next question.
Uhhh this is quite racy/risque.

Q8. What kind of kiss would you want with your lover if your body gets switched with a girl like in the show “Secret Garden”?

I apologize, I’ve never watched Secret Garden. Because of the picture I tweeted before, I got a lot of questions like “do you watch Secret Garden? How do you like it?” But it’s hard to answer those questions because I haven’t watched Secret Garden.
But since you’ve asked what kind of kiss would you want with a lover…

Umm, what I want is, In Secret Garden, the foam’s over the upper lip. But, mine’s… a little intense… Chin? It doesn’t seem very romantic. But on the chin.

If there was foam on her chin, I think I’d want to kiss [her] in the chin. And I’d pretend to wipe it but put it on the nose, put it on the forehead *pretends to put the foam on his own chin, nose, and forehead. Then pretends to kisses chin, nose and forehead* Ahhhhhhh *laughs* this is soooo embarassing.

Q9: Are you JiJi’s stylish ? Don’t just dress well yourself, please make some fashionable style for JiJi too

I want to dress him well too. But… Ah~~~ Actually, until now all JiJi’s clothes were gifts from fans.
What can I do? That is clothes bought by you guys. So I dress him like that.

But JiJi really hates wearing clothes. I got him to be dressed once; JiJi’s expression was not good.

I understand it (fans’ heart), JiJi too, but cuz he’s not an animal that can wear clothes…
I need to think for JiJi too. I’m sorry

Q10: Jaejoong’s self-composed songs are usually medium-tempo song or sad ballad. If you can produce your solo album, what kind of album you want to make?

If I produce my solo album, hmm… ballad, R&B or everyone’s favorite rock or dance.
I actually want to mix all the genres at once. Hmm Trot too.
So uh… You won’t get tired of each album’s track. I really want to make an album like that.
I don’t know yet when an album like that will be release.

Please look forward our activities.

Q11. Indispensable thing when you stand on stage?

Yer, I have. It’s rather funny. I can’t stand on stage without my necklace. Without necklace, I feel like some part of my body is taken away, really empty. I feel anxious. That’s the reason why I always wear necklace. Really simple right?

Q12: Do you have any question to fans?

The thing I want to ask is really personal/private.
Fans have shown me their double-sidedness. The fan who is in front of me and the one who isn’t seem so different, though it’s a same person. In front of me, you call “Oppa~~~” but then, when you’re not in front of me, it become “Jaejoong ah~~”.
So I’m really curious. When you’re with friends, what will you talk about me behind my back?

Among my fans, there are students, workers and high school students too. “Our Jaejoongie is like this; our Jaejoongie is not like that”. I’m really curious about how you guys talk about me. If you shoot a video of that (how fans talk about him), I really want to watch.

In the future, please upload that kind of video on youtube or twitter, I’ll definitely watch it!

Q13: You have a pretty strong self-management. We’re being worried that you’re getting tough diet.
After seeing Jaejoong’s legs, many fans wanna go on diet for 365 days. Please teach us some tips (to have thin legs LOL~)

I have some words to the fans that wanna go on diet for 365 days after seeing my legs.

I really eat a lot! I just go on a diet 2 days before the shooting. Compared to Junsu and Yoochun, I’m not on diet very often.

These legs make problem.
I can feel that the part from the waist down of my body is getting thinner. I know it and I was trying to find out the reason. I will honestly tell you. The reason is that….. I don’t move much.
So everybody too~ Don’t move (? -”- ??)

I do exercise a lot, just my upper body. Lower body workout is really tiring. Sometimes when you walk or go shopping?

So maybe my legs will just stay like this. They are too thin. It’s my legs’ complex.

I’ll try my best to have iron legs (legs with muscles) cuz I need to get married someday too.

Q14: Recently fans are jealous the most with JiJi. What made you raise JiJi? What is the hardest thing while raising him?

Well… Actually, every time I look at myself in the mirror, I get this feeling: “Ah~ really like a cat”. I mean, rather than personality, appearance, right?
I have thought much about cat. Then for a moment, a thought passed by “Ah~ Should I try to raise a cat?” And I ended up going to a pet shop with manager hyung.

And Vick…

Vick is at my parents’ house now. I need to say sorry to Vick but………………………………………………

He has become a yellow-dog! Kekeke
That very famous… that luxury kind of dog… has become a yellow-dog now.
It’s just… Compared to dog, he looks more like a cow now.

When I go see my parents, I‘ll take a picture of him and show you guys.

Q15: You use twitter as a tool to communicate with fans. The tweet the most memorable? Twitter’s advantages and disadvantages?

Well… First, the most memorable tweet….
There are many mentions that have same meaning. Cuz I took picture with JiJi…. “I want to become JiJi” or “I want to become JiJi’s rice bowl” hahaha~~
Or “I want to become JiJi’s clothes”…
Many fans tweeted to me like that.
Ha…. Though…. What? Isn’t it? “I want to become JiJi’s food.”

Want to become food, want to become clothes… This is… rather… Ah~ But …. It’s not like that… hahaha

But I really appreciate it, I’m really thankful that you love me that much

Twitter’s advantages…. Uhm….
Like you said, I can communicate with everybody and we show you my true feelings. It’s really good.

About disadvantages…

I want to share my thoughts to you but the information I shared get much distorted. Or people write comments for us in the bad way. This is big disadvantages.

I have thought a lot before post those tweets. There are emotional words and rational words too. (It’s hard to chose the word here, he want to say that some of his tweets were posted when he was too emotional and some were not)

But really, you know that I lack a place where I can express my feelings, right? So twitter is an excellent place. I hope that I can talk a lot on twitter. And please don’t blame Yoochun and Junsu for not tweeting much.

I will try to tweet as much as possible. Haha

Q16: We make choices at every moment of our lives. When the time comes for you to make an important decision, is there anyone who you prioritize to talk with or you think of as a mentor?

It’s a really good question.
Honestly, in this career, you need to make choices at every little moment. It’s really tiring. Tiring and… Uhmm… For example, people around us, manager hyung, our representative, our members… do help us a lot.

In fact, I chose that life and have been living like that but I don’t have any mentor. Who to admire, who I want to be like, who I don’t want to be like, I don’t have such thing.
I want to be a person like me.

………

JiJi is my mentor! (Awwww this guy~~)
Look at him. He’s sleeping behind me now.
Really… The most comfortable life in the world haha
There are a lot of things that we can learn from cats. Everybody too… please learn from them. Haha

Translator Notes:

Spring_Breezes: Jaejoong answered 20 questions for the interview, but the person who recorded it couldn’t record all of it since her MP3 didn’t have enough space. So, sadly, there’s no transcript for Q17-20. @The_little_pear already did Q9-16. So please look for it. Phrases in ( ) are my own explanations of things that can be translated verbatim.

The Little Pear: There were 20 questions, @Spring_Breezes is translating Q1-8, and I’m working on Q9-16. Phrases in () is my explanation. I’m not native Korean neither native English so my translation might not be exact 100%. Pls feel free to correct me^^
