It’d be weird if people didn’t find this weird.

Losing is winning (laugh)

We’re not doing this because we want to. It’s that we can’t overcome what we are forced to do so even if we don’t want to….

If I tell it all, it’ll be all of you that will be saddened.

So what I’m saying is, we won’t do anything unfair. I understand your feelings of thinking about the people you like… but unfortunately it’s not like that. Although there is evidence, don’t despair. Saying this, I might get killed, (laugh)

RT @nattinharunana: Does President Matsura still believe in the five of them more than anyone else? (reply): Yes. But I wonder how they feel…

RT @ ycdycd: I wonder what you mean? If you go so far to say that much, can’t you tell us in more detail? The alleged reason for us being saddened and such. “I can’t say it now” –stop saying such things. (reply) But I can’t say it! I’m troubled!

@ TM538: Masa san, you being critical of people does not solve anything T^T (reply): That’s okay. It’s the role I have to play (laugh)

RT @ punpunkazu: Aren’t you guys being really rude? (reply): Wait a minute..Aren’t I the one that’s being talked to more rudely…

RT @richon1101: Masa san please do your best! (reply): Ye~es. Definitely. Because we know it’s the other side that’s bad. The three of them are not bad, the wrong one here is Mr.B .

This is how I feel. The three of them are not bad. That’s it.

It’s good enough to believe in the people you want to believe in! One day you will all understand.

A contract is a difficult thing. We can’t just simply allow exceptions.

RT @JJONMA:Does this mean there is someone behind all this?? Possibly by SM?? (reply): This is where everyone is mistaken. There is nothing going on between Avex and SM. That would be unbelievable. If that were the case, it would probably lead to a fight. IF that were the case. But it’s not.

I like the three of them. However….

I want to let all of you know the truth, but if I tell you here there is the possibility of putting family members at risk too. If there are people that understand, that’s all I need.

RT @ycdycd: Anyway! Please stop interfering with JYJ’s charity event! Don’t stop on the good intentions of charity! (reply): It’s not interference. It’s a problem with contract. Meaning, it’s with the matters of a promise.

I haven’t done anything to be embarrassed about. No matter what people say.

I understand the feelings of people who want to believe in the people that they like. But if they want to believe the boss of these people, that can’t be helped. If they can’t deny the boss, it won’t be possible to save the three of them. If this is how it is, I have nothing more to say.

@mjjeje Wake up (T/N: Open your eyes to reality)

If the details of the contract were revealed, no one would be able to say anything…

We’re not idiots. We wouldn’t do anything that leads to a no win situation.

I’m tired of twitter, and now I’ve realized that I’m not the one who should be coming out in front like this in the first place. Seriously it’s not that I hate the three of them. But, it’s tough being a president. If the company’s concepts and my own thoughts come into conflict, as a president, it is my responsibility to comply with the company.

RT @MAZINGER_DRAGON: President, tomorrow you have a lot of work to do. Please go to sleep now. Tomorrow’s meeting will especially require a lot from President so please rest your body. Please. This issue is also important , but I will take care of it. (reply): Idiot, you’ll die.

When the truth is in your face don’t be so surprised (laugh)

At Least 44 Dead After Killer Twisters Pound South

This one hits close to home or literally at home. I am originally from Newport News, Virginia and currently am residing in Wisconsin. My siblings and extended family live in Virginia, North Carolina, and Maryland.
I have weathered many storms at home–this is a terrible disaster for the Tidewater region. Hurricanes are normal, it is the tremendous amounts and effects of the tornadoes that make this so tragic. I have not been able to locate my relatives due to the telephone lines being down, but I will try Facebook. Please be praying for all those affected and for those who have lost family. Momma Cha

At Least 44 Dead After Killer Twisters Pound South
.
By EMERY P. DALESIO and BROCK VERGAKIS, Associated Press Emery P. Dalesio And Brock Vergakis, Associated Press – 7 mins ago
SANFORD, N.C. – Lowe’s store manager Michael Hollowell had heard the tornado warnings, but his first clue that the danger was outside his front door came when he saw his staff running toward the back of the home improvement store.

More than 100 employees and customers screamed in near unison when the steel roof curled off overhead Saturday. The store was becoming part of the wreckage left by a ferocious storm system bristling with killer twisters that ripped through the South.

“You could hear all the steel ripping. People screaming in fear for their lives,” Hollowell told The Associated Press on Sunday.

Those in the store did not become part of the death toll that totaled at least 44 across six states, and officials said quick action by Hollowell and his employees helped them all make it out alive in Sanford, about 40 miles south of Raleigh.

In all of Lee County, where Sanford is located, officials said there was just one confirmed death during the storm, which claimed at least 21 lives statewide, damaged hundreds of homes and left a swath of destruction unmatched by any spring storm since the mid-1980s.

In Raleigh early Monday, authorities were blocking access to a mobile home park of about 200 homes where three children were killed. Officials planned to assess conditions after sunrise before deciding whether to allow residents to return home.

Power lines and trees still covered nearby roads. Where roads were clear, there were massive piles of debris that had been pushed to the side of the street.

Gov. Beverly Perdue spent the day touring areas in the eastern part of the state, including Bertie County, where storms were the deadliest. She met with victims, families of victims and emergency management officials.

“This is a hardly pressed economic county to start with, and as you travel through here you see people who have lost every single thing they have in life, and that takes a tremendous faith to overcome, but the faith is here,” Perdue said in Colerain. At least 11 residents of Bertie County died, officials said, including three members of the same family.

The violent weather began Thursday in Oklahoma, where two people died, before cutting across the Deep South on Friday and hitting North Carolina and Virginia on Saturday. Authorities said seven people died in Arkansas; seven in Alabama; six in Virginia; and one in Mississippi. North Carolina’s state emergency management agency said it had reports of 23 fatalities from Saturday’s storms, but local officials confirmed only 21 deaths to The Associated Press.

An apparent tornado passed near a Virginia nuclear power plant, knocking down power lines. Dominion Virginia Power said backup sources including diesel generators kept electricity going to maintain both units at its Surry Power Station. The tornado didn’t hit the two nuclear units, which are designed to withstand weather, earthquakes and hurricanes, the company said.

More than 240 tornadoes were reported from the storm system, including 62 in North Carolina, but the National Weather Service’s final numbers could be lower because some tornadoes may have been reported more than once.

Meanwhile, survivors recalled miraculous escapes.

In the Bladen County community of Ammon, about 70 miles south of Raleigh, Audrey McKoy and her husband Milton saw a tornado bearing down on them over the tops of the pine trees that surround the seven or eight mobile homes that make up their neighborhood. He glanced at a nearby farm and saw the winds lifting pigs and other animals in the sky.

“It looked just like ‘The Wizard of Oz,'” Audrey said.

They took shelter in their laundry room, and after emerging once the storm had passed, were disoriented for a moment. The twister had turned their mobile home around and they were standing in their backyard.

Milton found three bodies in their neighborhood, including 92-year-old Marchester Avery and his 50-year-old son, Tony, who died in adjacent mobile homes. He stopped his wife from coming over to see.

“You don’t want to look at this,” he told her.

The storms crushed trailer parks and brought life in the center of the state’s second-largest city to a virtual standstill. It was the worst outbreak in the state since 22 twisters in 1984 killed 42 people.

The devastation Perdue saw Sunday left her near tears, she said. The storm pummeled bustling cities and remote rural communities. One of Perdue’s stops was downtown Raleigh, where fallen trees blocked major thoroughfares and damage to the Shaw University campus forced it to cancel the remainder of its spring semester.

Perdue said she’d been in contact with President Barack Obama, who pledged his support, and that federal emergency management workers were already on the ground.

“We have in North Carolina a tremendous relationship with our federal partners, and have been through this so many times,” she said. “That’s not a good thing. That’s a bad thing.”

Jean Burkett lived near Roy and Barbara Lafferty and Barbara’s mother, Helen White, in Colerain. Burkett and Barbara Lafferty graduated from high school together in 1964 and had always been neighbors. On Sunday, at her relatively untouched home, Burkett pointed out a row of four or five about 400 yards away that had been demolished. The Laffertys and Helen White died in their home.

“The neighborhood has lost some mighty fine neighbors,” Burkett said. “It’s the worst thing we’ve ever seen.”

The conditions that allowed for the storm occur on the Great Plains maybe twice a year, but they almost never happen in North Carolina, according to Scott Sharp, a weather service meteorologist in Raleigh.

The atmosphere was unstable Saturday, which allows air to rise and fall quickly, creating winds of hurricane strength or greater. There was also plenty of moisture in the air, which fuels violent storms. Shear winds at different heights, moving in different directions, created the spin needed to create tornadoes, Sharp said.

Many of the deaths across the state occurred in mobile homes like the ones in Ammon. The three deaths in Raleigh were in a mobile home park about five miles north of downtown, which was still closed off to residents early Monday.

Census data from 2007, the latest available, estimates 14.5 percent of residences in North Carolina are mobile homes, the seventh-highest percentage in the nation and well over the U.S. average of 6.7 percent.

North Carolina officials tallied more than 130 serious injuries, 130 homes destroyed and another 700 significantly damaged by Sunday evening, according to state public safety spokeswoman Julia Jarema. Officials expect those totals to climb as damage assessments continue.

Back at the Lowe’s store, Joseph Rosser and his 13-year-old daughter, Hannah, had pulled their Chevrolet Colorado pickup off the road Saturday, seeking shelter. Instead, the store’s exterior concrete toppled, crushing the truck’s cab with both inside.

“I really didn’t see much because I had a pillow over my face to protect my head and I heard my dad tell me it was going to be OK,” Hannah said. “And then all of a sudden, I just heard a loud boom.

“My dad was lying there, telling me he was going to die,” said Hannah, her midsection wrapped in a back brace. “He sounded very hoarse like he couldn’t breathe. He was crying and was hurt really bad.”

She crawled out the truck’s shattered back window and ran around the parking lot calling for help, because her cell phone wouldn’t work. Both Rossers are recovering from their injuries.

While the death toll may climb and while it will be weeks before final damage assessments are completed, residents and officials alike are looking to make repairs and start rebuilding what was lost.

Aleta Tootle and four other people sheltered in a closet in her Bertie County home, emerging with only a few scratches after the rest of the building was ripped to shreds. Surveying the wreckage Sunday, she said there was only one thing left to do.

“All we can do is start over,” she said. “We don’t have a choice.”

[Trans] Interview #1: Kim Jaejoong Says, “TVXQ, The Problem Wasn’t Between The Members”

For TVXQ, the nation’s top idol group, July of 2009 is an unforgettable moment in time. The group split up when three members, Xiah Junsu, Micky Yoochun and YoungWoong Jaejoong, filed an exclusive contract suspension injunction against SM Entertainment on the grounds that, ‘A 13-year contract is unjust’. Fans who had fallen for these five ‘pin-up boys’ were devastated; everything had looked fine on the outside when it fact, the inside had rotted and collapsed. These three members formed a new group JYJ and chose a path that was independent from their former agency. But the environment that surrounds them in the entertainment industry is not a friendly one. There are times when they must sit in dismay under the scrutiny of cold gazes.

Two years after the group split, we invited Jaejoong to an interview with us over a few glasses of beer to represent his fellow JYJ members as they have successfully hit off their World Tour in Thailand. He showcased all his talents this performance by taking on the role of the concert’s director. You could still see the feeling of relief etched on his face from completing the concert successfully; his expression was bright. What stuck out the most was his white and smooth skin.

▶JYJ’s Concert in Thailand, Jaejoong’s Debut as a Director

-I heard that the concerts in Thailand were a hit.

“It was all thanks to our fans. Though there are parts that I wish I could go back and fix, I was so happy that we created a performance for the sole purpose of singing our songs. I felt a surge of emotions back then.”

-I saw that people cheered the loudest for you during the concert…

“No way. (laughter) But if that’s the case, then I think it was because of the red, see-through outfit that I wore. (laughter)”

-Then what about the outfits of the other members?

“Park Yoochun has the manliest image in JYJ so he wore blue, and I matched Kim Junsu with green because of his humorous image. I wanted to represent my slightly epicene image.”

-You must have had priority because you were the director.

“(laughter) That’s right. Because it’s all up to the director. I want to keep directing in the future.”

-We’re having an interview today over a few glasses of beer, but what’s your usual drinking capacity?

“I’m a moderate drinker. But when I have a lot to drink, my face gets really red. There are times when I have a glass of sake or beer when I’m at home alone and can’t seem to fall asleep.”

▶His mobile phone start-up screen is still a picture of TVXQ

-Let’s start off with a difficult question. What is TVXQ to you?

“There are still a few rough patches to fix. But I can assure you that the problem wasn’t amongst the members. I believe there were lies and misunderstandings that surrounded us. Personally, I think that we could still straighten out all the misunderstandings. I could send the other members a text right now if you wanted me to. Actually, the start-up screen on my phone is still a picture of TVXQ.”

-You must have felt very sad during the concert.

“The thought ‘It would have been better if the two other members were with us. I’m sure we’d be making greater music then.’ was running through my head.”

-Any other regrets?

“It’s been seven since TVXQ debuted in 2004 with the single ‘Hug’. We even have at least 100 songs that we performed in Japan. But we can’t sing those songs anymore. It’s so regrettable.”

During our conversation, he showed me the picture on his start-up screen. He even confessed that he listens to TVXQ albums often, though his friends tell him not to. The funny thing is that he has six mobile phones in total. He said, “It’s because I get so many prank calls,” and “I thought that it would be better to use five or six phones at a time instead of changing my number on a regular basis.“

▶One hot photo: the luxurious interior of your house? “I saw and ordered it online.”

-There are a lot of your photos that are becoming a hot topic these days, but what’s this about a photo of you as a high schooler with your date?

“Ah, I saw that too. I think it was in the Myeongdong area in Seoul and I’m sure it was when I was in high school because it was before my debut. I was in fact on a date with my girlfriend. But it was such a long time ago and I haven’t been in touch with her for a while.”

-What about the photo you took with Kang Yebin?

“Oh, that was at my birthday party on January 26th. I met with some friends at a bar near Apgujeong, Seoul and that’s when I saw her for the first time. I didn’t know her very well but I got to meet her because she had come with a friend of hers who was a screenwriter. She was actually sitting way back and I was sitting up front, but the camera angle made it seem like we were leaning on each other. (laughter)”

-Who else was there at your party?

“Most of them were my non-celebrity friends. A few celebrities who came were Hong Seok Chun and Narsha.”

-The luxurious interior of your new house also became a hot topic.

“I created the theme myself. But it’s not luxurious at all. 80% of the things in the house are cheap products that you can order online. I really like decorating rooms. When I was living with Kim Hyun Joong, I was in charge of the interior design of the house.”
▶He used to live with Kim Hyun Joong but now he lives alone

-I heard that you used to live with Kim Hyun Joong from ‘Boys Over Flowers’.

“I lived with him for about a year till the second half of last year. Early this year, Hyun Joong moved to Cheongdam-dong and I moved to Jamshil.“

-How did you meet Hyun Joong?

“I got to know him by chance before our debut. We’ve been friends ever since.”

-It must be that handsome guys have some sort of connection.

“I don’t think that’s it… (laughter). When I first saw Hyun Joong, I thought he looked kind of pitiful. He was a lanky kid who looked like he didn’t have any friends. (laughter) I think that’s why I felt more affectionate towards him.”

-Your friendship with Park Yong Ha was quite special.

“My heart still feels a pang of pain when I think about him. It happened while I was travelling to the US after our Tokyo Dome performance in Japan. As soon as I arrived at the airport in the US, I got a call from Yong Ha. He asked me where I was; I told him I was in the US and he said, ‘Ah, okay, good luck with your concert and we should meet up for a glass of soju soon’. Who would have thought that those would be his last words to me… And then two days later, I heard that he had ended his life.“

Translation: 110414 JYJ’s Junsu, The Arrival Of The New Prince Of Musicals

“The only place that took me in when no one else would was the musical industry. It gave me the opportunity to perform for the first time in a musical during troubled times.”

JYJ’s Kim Junsu(24) is the symbol of ‘musicaldols’ (musical+idols). He stands in the midst of the musical industry breaking through its slump by bringing out the idol card.

Last January, when he and fellow JYJ members Kim Jaejoong(25) and Park Yoochun(25) were a hot topic in the media and the public for their exclusive contract dispute against TVXQ’s agency SM Entertainment, Junsu transformed into a musical actor through ‘Mozart!’(EMK Musical Company), the musical that reinterpreted the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756~1791). And in an instant, he became a blue chip in the musical industry.

“Musicals gave me a great amount of courage. hahaha.” Last year, Junsu shied away from the media, even when he was appearing in the musical. In Q&A sessions, he did not allow any ‘personal’ questions and only answered questions that dealt with his musical.

But Junsu has gotten much brighter since the end of his second musical ‘Tears of Heaven’(Seol&Company) last month. TVXQ’s Xiah Junsu became JYJ’s Junsu, who in turn became a stronger and more confident Kim Junsu, the musical actor. On the 2nd and 3rd of this month, Junsu even boasted his power as a singer when JYJ’s World Tour leg in Bangkok, Thailand was sold out.

Junsu looked back on the past year and said, “Musicals were the only things that allowed me to perform during troubled times,” and “When I first started out, I told myself that I could be lacking, but I couldn’t make a fool out of the musical or myself.”

Last year, Junsu was able to sell out all fifteen of his ‘Mozart!’ performances in a mere three hours. Through this musical, he received the Best Male Newcomer Award at ‘The 4th Musical Awards’ and ‘The 16th Korean Musical Awards’.

“I heard that Mozart is the only musician who was given the title of ‘genius’ in the history of music,” and “He was a person who was lacking in no way possible, but he himself saw himself as a unfortunate soul.” He also added, “Though I’m not a genius, Mozart’s situation seemed to match so well with mine that I could relate to him.“

Receiving two Best Newcomer Awards, Kim Junsu said, “The gratitude and joy I felt when I received those awards is indescribable in words,” and “They gave me strength and urged me to appear in another production.”

In ‘Tears of Heaven’, Junsu was able to work alongside world renowned musical actor Brad Little(47), who is famous for his roles in ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ and ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. For this musical, Kim Junsu set yet another record by selling out 17 performances of 27,500 seats in 10 minutes.

“There was a lot of pressure on my shoulder because I was set to appear in a brand new musical, although I was just a rookie,” and “There was a lot of pressure on me and my fellow actors because we were creating the basis and foundation of the musical.” However, his eyes shone as he said, “I was really thankful to ‘Tears of Heaven’ because I was able to learn so much from it,” and “It was a great honor to have been given the opportunity to perform with an actor like Brad Little.”

The recently released ‘Kim Junsu Musical Concert – Levay With Friends’ DVD sold over 40,000 copies in its first two weeks. Though he is a newcomer to the musical industry with just two productions under his belt, he is already being compared to the musical industry’s top star Jo Seung Woo(31). According to a survey done by Interpark last year, Kim Junsu came out on top as the star with the greatest ticket power in the musical industry, even beating Jo Seung Woo and his return to the industry with the musical ‘Jekyll and Hyde’.

Regarding the comparisons drawn between him and Jo Seung Woo, Junsu scratched his head and said, “It’s a great honor but also a great amount of pressure.” He took a humble approach and said, “It doesn’t make sense for Senior Jo Seung Woo to be compared to a rookie like me,” and “I see Senior Jo Seung Woo as my role model but we keep getting compared, so I sometimes wonder what his fans think about me… I feel the need to be careful when talking about the situation.”

Junsu’s vocal talents were recognized since his ‘TVXQ’ days. Recently, ten vocal trainers were asked to rank idol groups and members based on their vocal skills and Junsu came out on top. Regarding this, Junsu said, “I need to work harder to become a person who is deserving of that number one spot.” He also said, “I feel like I am stil lacking in so many ways,” and “I try to sing with as much sincerity as possible.”

‘Mozart!’ was composed by Grammy Award winning Sylvester Levay(66) while ‘Tears of Heaven’ was composed by Frank Wildhorn(52). Junsu smiled as he said, “It was a great honor to be able to work with two of the best composers in the world,” and “I tend to be drawn towards musicals with great songs.”

However, Junsu was also swept up in controversies surrounding idols and their high paychecks when it was found that he was being paid 35 million Won for each ‘Mozart!’ performance. He said, “I am thankful that people think of me so highly regardless of the fact that I’ve only been in two productions,” and “I believe it is my job to showcase a performance that is worthy of the production without being a burden on it.”

Junsu is currently a senior at Myeongji University with a musical major and his passion for musicals seems unbeatable. He has watched all the recent musicals such as ‘Jekyll and Hyde’, ‘GwangHwaMun Sonata’ and ‘AIDA’. He even said, ” I want to give back to the musical industry as much as I’ve been loved by people for my roles in musicals,” and “If I was asked to be a spokesperson for musicals, I would accept the position without hesitation.”

He was also able to fully experience the troubles the people in the musical industry currently face. “Mr. Levay said that Korean musical actors are so talented that they would be able to succeed wherever they went. But he also said that in Korea, they weren’t getting the treatment that they deserved.”

“As Kim Junsu the musical actor, nothing would make me happier than to see the musical industry grow and evolve due to an increased interest in musicals because of me.”

Other than ‘Mozart!’, a countless number of musical production companies are dying to have Junsu appear in their shows.

[News] Kim Junsu, Thunderbolt Shot… Made the Winning Goal!

Two-Top with Kim Hyunjoong, Made Crucial Plays All Over the Field

(Gave) FC MEN Its First Win… Seized the MVP Award

Male group JYJ’s Kim Junsu showed off abilities in soccer that does not fall behind his abilities in singing. He exploded the winning shot (into the net) in the first game of Peace Star Cup.

In the 2011 Peace Star Cup Entertainers Soccer Tournament that was held in the Suwon World Cup Secondary Stadium of Kyungkido, the idol soccer team FC MEN collected its first win against Super Stars through Captain Kim Junsu’s winning goal, 1-0. FC Men, which has newly formed this year, has especially gathered attention because a host of idol stars are participating as members. The stadium of that day was packed with about 1500 Korean Wave fans which included those who came from abroad such as Japan and Taiwan and made one feel through his skin the popularity of the stars.

In the game, FC MEN put up Kim Junsu and Kim Hyunjoong as two-top. In particular, Kim Junsu used his great speed to aggressively weave (through the other players) and created many crucial chances. The male group B2ST’s Lee Kikwang, who was in charge of distributing the ball as a mid fielder, and Yoon Doojoon, also stood out in their soccer skills. In particular, Yoon Doojoon pulled off very high-level techniques freely such as “placing the wrong leg” and “cruip turn,” no worse than a professional player. (T/N: The original words for these soccer tricks are 헛다리짚기 and 크루이프턴—the are jargons, I apologize.) The play proceeded as a unilateral attack by FC MEN which received the overwhelming support of the fans. However, the goal would not come easily. 3 minutes into the second half, directly facing the “goal area,” Kim Junsu caught the fleeting chance Kim Junsu, in the intense situation, pulled out the first goal with a thunderbolt shoot after a short dribble. Hugging his colleagues, Kim Junsu enjoyed the ecstasy of the first goal.

Super Stars had its Captain Jung Joonho who became a newlywed recently, and Im Daeho, Lee Jongwon, Oh Manseok and others eyeing a counterattack, but lost crucial chances in the second half and the game finished as 1-0. As the game’s MVP, the hero of the winning goal Kim Junsu was picked.
