Translation 111006 Choi Kang Hee Praises Kim Jaejoong’s Acting,” He’s Naturally Gifted At Understanding Emotions”

[TRANS] 111006 Choi Kang Hee Praises Kim Jaejoong’s Acting, ” He’s Naturally Gifted At Understanding Emotions”

Actress Choi Kang Hee (34) highly praised Kim Jaejoong(25)’s acting.

In an interview with TV Report on the 5th, Choi Kang Hee said, “Isn’t he such a great actor?” as soon as a question about Kim Jaejoong was posed to her.

The actress took on the role of No Eun Seol in the recently ended SBS TV drama ‘Protect the Boss’ and worked alongside Ji Sung as Cha Ji Hun and Kim Jaejoong as Cha Mu Won.

Kim Jaejoong, for whom ‘Protect the Boss’ was his first domestic drama, was praised by many for his stable acting during the entire drama. Even Choi Kang Hee, his acting senior, didn’t hold back on her praise for him.

Choi Kang Hee said, “Jaejoong’s personality is so different from Cha Mu Won’s in real life that it made me think that he would have been more comfortable playing Cha Ji Hun,” and “When I first received the script, I thought that Cha Mu Won was the hardest role to take on. But when I heard that a rookie would be playing the part, I found myself thinking of the immense amount of pressure that was placed on Jaejoong’s shoulders. It’s a role that even I would worry a lot about. But he just took off running from the start. He was really good, even when he had just received his script that day, and I was surprised.

She also reminisced and added, “Even after we had a run-through, people were really worried out of their concern for him. But I had a good feeling about him. So after the run-through, I walked up to the director and told him, ‘I think if you just leave him be, he’ll be great’,” and “I thought it would do him more harm than good if Jaejoong was told how to talk and walk as Cha Mu Won, so we just let him be and he did really well. I think he’s naturally gifted at understanding emotions.

Emphasizing that, “I’ve never once felt worried about Jaejoong,” Choi Kang Hee smiled as she sad, “Jaejoong didn’t get tense on location and he seemed at ease with himself. Ji Sung and I have been acting for a long time, so we automatically know what kind of acting works for dramas. Although Jaejoong was a rookie, he would unexpectedly crank out such great scenes and I found that so amazing. So our female editors all fell for Jaejoong.

[TRANS] 111002 Choi Kang Hee Says, “Ji Sung Is Good Husband Material.. Jaejoong Is Naturally Gifted”

Choi Kang Hee applauded the actors she worked alongside in SBS’ ‘Protect the Boss’ as the drama came to an end on the 29th.

In a recent interview with Yonhap news, Choi Kang hee talked about Ji Sung, who is the same age as her and was her love interest in the drama, and said, “He said he has an IQ of 147 and I think he’s really smart.”

She said, “I had great chemistry with Ji Sung. We experimented with a lot of ad libs and would unexpectedly make each other laugh while acting, but those moments molded well with the drama.” She then added, “Ji Sung is both like an adult and a baby at the same time. He’s a warm and caring person so I think he’d make a great husband.”

Regarding Kim Jaejoong, who has just started his acting career, Choi Kang Hee talked with admiration as she said, “Though he’s a rookie at acting, he has this natural gift. There’s something instinctual there. He’s not a star for nothing.”

Choi Kang Hee gave Park Young Gyu a thumbs up as she said, “He’s really cool.”

She said, “Though Park Young Gyu is quite old, I don’t feel that age difference with him. He’s really charming and very passionate.”

News 111001 What Made “Protect the Boss” So Popular With Viewers?

[News] 111001 What made ‘Protect The Boss’ so popular with viewers?

SBS‘s ’Protect the Boss‘ seemed to come out of nowhere with its strong popularity, and many viewers who had no expectations were ultimately surprised by its quality content. But what made this drama stand out from the rest?

‘Protect The Boss’ was a feel-good drama that didn’t have any negative elements of an affair or a broken family; it also lacked a character that you loved to hate. The way that the characters caused problems in the story were endearing in their own way, and when the characters plotted against each other, the situation turned out pretty comical in the end.

For example, there was potential for ‘Cha Ji Hun’ (Ji Sung)’s ex-lover ‘Seo Na Yoon’ (Wang Ji Hye) and ‘Noh Eunsul’ (Choi Kang Hee) to get into a messy rivalry over Cha Ji Hun. But the two didn’t try to make each other’s lives miserable, and they become close friends.

Meanwhile, Cha Ji Hun and ‘Cha Moo Won’ (JYJ‘s Jaejoong) were rivals for a long time; instead of competing intensely against one other, the two fought like grade-school students. They would say things like, “I really don’t like him“, and get into scraps with one another that made the audience laugh. In reality, the two seemed like childhood friends rather than enemies.

‘Protect the Boss’ broke the mold of traditional Korean dramas, as the audience was able to relate with the more “average” and down-to-earth characters. Those who appeared to be the “bad” guy in the story actually wasn’t some horrible, irrational demon come-to-life; in the end, they were individuals who made some bad decisions, but ultimately sought happiness. The fact that these characters were relatable made the audience fall in love with the drama.

But the characters weren’t the only aspect that helped ‘Protect The Boss’ gain popularity. The main issue in the storyline didn’t lie with the characters’ conflicts with one another — it was in trying to disprove the stereotypes of being rich.

For example, Cha Ji Hun has a panic disorder, and although he is the boss, he cared very little about his job. He became a better man after meeting Noh Eunsul, but still had no ambition to take his father’s place in his company. He doesn’t want to inherit his father’s wealth, but even so, his colleagues called him mocking names like ‘Papa’s boy’. The story follows the hardships he endures before he could successfully break free from his situation.

‘Protect the Boss’ was comical and funny, and it also deconstructed the stereotypical ‘Cinderella’ story. Devoid of melancholy, excessive love, and senseless hatred, the story simply told of a person’s journey to find happiness in a relatable way.

NEWS Seo Nayun Realizes Her True Feelings For Cha Muwon

[News] Seo Nayun Realizes Her True Feelings for Cha Muwon. “Can’t I?”

Boss: Wang Ji Hye, Confesses Belatedly to Kim Jaejoong. “Adorable Despite Being Late”

Seo Nayun of Protect the Boss has confessed her feelings to Cha Muwon.

On the 13th episode of the SBS Wed-Thursday drama Protect the Boss that aired on the afternoon of the 14th, Seo Nayun’s regrets upon her belated realization of the feelings of her heart were portrayed.

Previously, Seo Nayun had declined Cha Muwon’s confession of his feelings due to her feelings for cha Jihun. At this, Cha Muwon had cleanly put his feelings to rest and had been finding Noh Eunsul agreeable. As Cha Muwon showed suffering at Cha Jihun and Noh Eunsul’s love, Seo Nayun revealed her true heart, saying: “You pretended to be so cool with me but why do you act so uncool now. The way you act, I cannot watch it with my eyes open.”

At this, Cha Muwon asked a question that pierced through the maters: “Do you have feelings for me?” At Seo Nayun’s confession that “I’ve always had feelings for you,” Cha Muwon expressed relief, saying: “I was shocked because I thought you were having the feelings (you should have had back then) only now. I’ll just trust that you like me in the way you did before.”

On the other hand, Seo Nayun asked Cha Muwon out on a date to watch a musical in order to reveal her heart even though it was late. However, Cha Muwon did not appear even though the first act of the musical was over. Seo Nayun, exhausted from waiting, comforted herself, saying: “It’s okay. This isn’t the first time I’ve been stood up.”

Cha Muwon, who arrived just in time, asked her “how many times were you stood up to be saying that?” He sat down in his seat, slyly saying “just tell me the story (so far for the musical).” After the musical was over, Cha Muwon asked her: “Do you want to come back to me?” At this, Seo Nayun answered: “Can’t I?” With this they announced the formation of a new love line.
