[News] 300 Vehicles Gather for JYJ’s Japan Concert. An Unheard-Of Phenomenon
JYJ, Creating a Culture of Providing [Mass] Rides in Japan? At the Time of Solo Concert, 300 Buses Gather, Proves Influence
JYJ’s solo concert JYJ Unforgettable Live Concert in Japan 2011 was held over the two days of the 15th and 16th in Hitachi Park of Japan’s Irabaki Hyun. This concert has evoked among the Japanese fans a culture of providing [mass] rides and so is becoming a hot issue.
In the case of Korea, it is common that the fans transport themselves through the means of mass-rides when an entertainer performs in Seoul or a location other than Seoul. However, in Japan the culture of providing mass rides cannot be found. However, in the case of this concert, about 300 vehicles gathered in the concert venue and so attracted all eyes.
Further, they also gathered attention by plastering each bus with JYJ. They put clothes on the panels of JYJ and made unique banners to heighten the atmosphere immediately prior to the concert. In this concert in Japan lasting two days, 80,000 fans gathered and due to the vehicles that gathered from all over, the traffic of the whole area became paralyzed.
In the concert of this day JYJ relayed: “We are very moved to be able to meet with the fans of Japan. In truth when we said that we will perform in an outdoors park in an area affected by the earthquakes, there were some concerned responses. But, in order to meet with the fans of Japan, we did not wish to let this opportunity go. We felt your love today in this place and through it we gained even greater courage.”

[News] 111017 JYJ Draws 80,000 Fans to ‘JYJ UNFORGETTABLE LIVE CONCERT IN JAPAN 2011′
JYJ‘s latest solo concert has confirmed their fame in Japan, as they managed to attract more than 80,000 fans over two days!
Concert tickets for ‘JYJ UNFORGETTABLE LIVE CONCERT IN JAPAN 2011‘ sold out as soon as tickets became available, and the server crashed due to a massive influx of visitors. Every seat for the solo concert was sold out, and even standing room sections at the venue was practically brimming over with excited fans.
On October 3rd, thousands of fans flocked to the park to see JYJ perform from cities like Osaka, Sapporo, Tokyo, and more. It’s being reported that all parts of the country got hit with heavy traffic due to the amount of fans driving to the concert. An associate of the concert commented, “We were already surprised because the tickets were sold out, but we were surprised again by JYJ’s fame when the standing sections (which could hold a capacity of thousands) became full.”
JYJ had put on a spectacular show, performing songs from their first Korean album, ‘In Heaven‘, as well other hit songs from their worldwide album, ‘The Beginning‘.
They also had the crowd going wild when they performed OST songs from dramas that JYJ were affiliated with, such as “I Found You” from ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal‘, “Protect You” from ‘Protect the Boss‘, and “You Are So Beautiful” from ‘Scent of a Woman‘.
One 40-year-old fan commented, “I really like JYJ. I’m a housewife so on the day of the ticket site opening, I waited in front of the computer from morning to night, waiting for the site to reboot. I applied through the ticket lottery for front seats; luckily, I was given a good seat. The JYJ members are good-looking and they have a great harmony. They are also funny, which makes them even more popular.”
Another fan, aged 45, admitted, “My daughter and wife love JYJ so inevitably, I ended up liking their music as well. The whole family left the house at 3:00 AM to watch their concert, but we couldn’t get to the front of the standing section. I’m so excited, regardless, because I got to see JYJ’s performance.“.
Touched by the overwhelming show of support, the members expressed, “We are so blessed to see our fans in Japan. We had mixed reviews when it was revealed that our concert would be at a spot that got affected by the earthquake, but we didn’t want to miss the chance of seeing our fans in Japan. On this day, we felt everyone’s love for us and because of that, it gave us courage.”
When the members finished giving their message to their fans, the fans reacted with their tears and started to chant, “It’s okay, JYJ!” JYJ finished the concert with their song, “In Heaven“.
During the end of September, JYJ and Min Hyo Rin had a photo shoot for the latest winter catalogue of a clothing label at Nonhyeon-dong. The theme for this photo shoot was “LOOK: Search, New Pursue”. The harmonious collaboration of JYJ and Min Hyo Rin naturally brought out the fashionable and refined feel. The deep charisma and cold haughty glances took over the photo shoot site.
The clothing label representative expressed, “JYJ transformed from the lively feel of the previous season and perfectly portrayed the low-profile and restrained distinctive quality. As for the newly contracted endorser Min Hyo Rin, she showed the handsomeness and poise, making the female range achieving that quality.”

[Vid+Trans] JYJ Unforgettable Live Concert In Japan Part 5
JJ:How are you doing? Are you guys having fun?
How about the back?
There are people all the way in the back who can’t even see us. Can you guys also scream?
We also know there were many people who couldn’t come to the venue. It’s too bad, but we will gratefully accept your thoughts from here.
Ok… so first, it is ok if we come down?
JJ: When we sang the ballad just a while ago, you guys did a surprise pen light event. (T/NI think they changed from red to yellow for Fallen Leaves) Thank you so much!
JS + YC: Thank you!
JJ: I know previously there was such an event at the Korean concert and the Kokugikan and we were touched by it, but honestly, we did not expect this here, so we were touched again.
Ok, so now, we’d like to go to the main stage…
Everyone complains.
JJ: But it’s better for the people in the back if we go to the main stage….
Ok, well, last time when we were at the Kokugikan, it was more like an event, but this time at Ibaragi, we are able to hold our own JYJ concert, which we’re really happy about. And I’m sure each of us would like to share our thoughts… so, in order to do this, let’s go to the main stage!
YC says something as they go up the stage but can’t hear.
JJ: Ok from here…oh! You guys all became quiet!
Ok, so from here, it is time for us to share each of our honest thoughts about holding this JYJ concert. Let’s start with JS?
JS: Can’t I be the one to decide who talks?
This is hardest part to say in Japanese…
As you may know, there were so many times we wished to be on stage or do an event in Japan, but, as you know, there were some difficulties and we couldn’t do it. Because of that, every time, we felt really sorry to you guys. I’m really joyful and happy that we are finally able to be on this stage and see you guys. Seeing you guys, we get the strength to continue forward. This is the only thing I can really say: Thank you so much.
YC: Am I next?
Really, thank you very much.
Umm…was it yesterday…no, today. We had rehearsal until early this morning. And the three of us talked about how we want to release singles and albums in Japan. It doesn’t have to be included in the Oricon charts. We just want to be able to do activities in Japan, to be able to sing Japanese songs on stage with you. It’s a bit nostalgic. Just like JS said, we feel sorry that we can’t do it. But you know, while we were backstage, we heard your reactions/cheers and we thought, ‘Oh wow. JYJ isn’t dead yet.’ (T/N Sorry, such a literal transition…you guys get the idea though, right? Kind of like “we can still make it.”) And that’s because of you guys. Thank you so much!!!
JJ: Umm…so as you can see, they are sharing from their hearts and I don’t know if there’s much I can add to what they said, but…you know, we always say “thank you,” “we’re sorry,” “we are able to come this far because of you guys” but it’s because you always warmly cheer us on with the same heart, unchanging from our debut days – even in these uncertain times. That’s why we say “thank you,” “we’re sorry,” and “we are able to come this far because of you guys.” We feel a bit envious of all the new artists (Korean) coming to Japan. Those artists come to Japan with hope [to succeed] and are challenging themselves in a new world. Even with just you guys here, we are filled with emotions/with hope (Not sure about this part). We are very thankful. But in our current condition, we don’t know what’s going to happen with our activities in Japan. We worry about what will happen when your support is gone? So we are envious of the Korean artists that are debuting now. But even from now on, though we are a little bit older than those new artists, we can return to the feeling of when we were new artists. We’ll do our best by bringing new songs and continuing to show our unchanging form. Please believe in us.
Well, I think, even though we couldn’t share all, we were at least able to share part of what we are feeling.
Unfortunately, the next song will be the last song…
As Tohoshinki, we have sung over 100 songs. We would like to sing these songs, but unfortunately, we can’t (probably alluding to the legal issues). There are songs also that you don’t know about, but well… I think you guys understand our feelings.
Yesterday, the three of us briefly sang this song during rehearsal, so I was thinking…is it ok if we sing it?
(Obviously, the other two were not expecting it.)
This is totally ad-lib. We didn’t plan this.
Sings a phrase of SBU.
JJ: That’s it.
YC: I often listen to our Tohoshinki songs with my ipod while we are on the move.
JJ: We had very good songs, huh? Well, I don’t know if we’ll be able to make better songs than those, but we’d like to continue creating songs that will touch your heart.
So, now, please listen to our last song… In Heaven.
