Group JYJ reclaimed the 1st place, recording a reversal with their first single ‘Wake Me Tonight’ released in Japan.
According to Japan’s biggest records-counting site Oricon Chart on the morning of January 27, JYJ’s first single ‘Wake Me Tonight’ –that was released last Jan. 21– climbed up the top of Single Daily Chart, recording sales of 20,609 copies for one day on January 26.
This single had also recorded No. 1 on Tower Records [Japan]’s Daily Chart and HMV 24-hour chart, as well as, No. 2 on Oricon Daily Chart; on its release date. JYJ has proven that there is no change in JYJ’s popularity –despite many restrictions all the while–, with this being the first time that they have their album distributed fully in Japan.
JYJ has [already] climbed to No.1 on Tower Records’ Monthly Chart and No.2 on Oricon Weekly Chart without an official release in Japan, with their regular album ‘JUST US’ released prior in Korea last summer.

Hally idol group JYJ will make a comeback with a concert tour ahead of releasing a new single album.
The group will hold “JYJ Japan Dome Tour” in major Japanese cities in Nov.-Dec., the agency said.
This is their third concert in Japan following “Thanksgiving Live in Dome” in 2010 and “The Return of the JYJ” in 2013.
Under the theme of “Ichigo Ichie,” which means “the only encounter in lifetime,” the concert tour will show fancier performances than before. The members will also reveal new charms as artists.

It has been announced that JYJ is currently making preparations to kick off their comeback in Japan with a brand new concert tour.
On October 17, C-JeS Entertainment shared, “This coming November and December, JYJ will be greeting their fans in Japan with the 2014 ‘JYJ Japan Dome Tour – Ichigo Ichie,’ which will open in Tokyo, Osaka, and other major cities. They are also preparing the release of a new Japanese single album.”
Through this ‘Ichigo Ichie’—or “once-in-a-lifetime meeting”—tour, the members are planning to carry out live stages with impressive performances, as well as show off their more mature and improved abilities and individual charms as artists.
This announcement is gaining even more interest especially because of the news that JYJ is gearing up to release their very first Japanese single album.
Following the 2010 ‘Thanksgiving Live in Dome’ and the 2013 ‘The Return of The JYJ’ dome concerts, this upcoming tour will be the group’s third time. This particular tour is meaningful to the members, as it will mark their official comeback in Japan, making it known that they will begin active promotions in the country.
The C-JeS Entertainment rep also revealed that fans in Japan continuously requested a dome tour as soon as the news of JYJ’s Asia tour was announced.
Meanwhile, JYJ is earning much attention from Japanese fans and local media ever since the reports of the tour and single album, and the members are busy getting ready to kick off another dome tour.

The press conference took place at the Central World on 24 Sept 2014
Q: Please greet the fans and the media.
JYJ: Hello we are JYJ
Q: The 3 of you haven’t visited Thailand for 3 years. How do you feel visiting us this time?
JJ: I’m very glad to get a chance to meet the fans again because we haven’t been here for 3 years, and I’m glad there are many fans waiting for us until now. I’d like to thank the sponsors for inviting us to have this concert.
YC: I’d like to tell the fans I’m very touched. Although we haven’t visited here for 3 years but there are still many fans welcoming us. Thank you so much.
JS: I’d like to thank our fans again and we are having the final 2014 concert here in Thailand which means a lot to us, it’s a good opportunity for us to meet our fans this year.
Q: 2014 JYJ ASIA TOUR CONCERT IN THAILAND “THE RETURN OF THE KING” is considered the great comeback, what will the fans see in JYJ – The King?
YC: The concert will take place tomorrow with the theme “THE RETURN OF THE KING”, and it has a good meaning. We have also prepared cool shows for the fans so we don’t want any fans to miss the concert tomorrow.
Q: JYJ latest album “Just Us” reached the no. 1 all kill spot on every chart right after the album was released and it was also nominated on the music show without being promoted, how do you feel about it?
JJ: We haven’t had the album together for 3 years so we gave our whole hearts in “Just Us’ album, and you all will get to listen to this album tomorrow. We wish all the fans come to support us.
Q: All 3 of you are very good at singing, could you tell us how you share the lyrics part when you sing together?
JJ: We sat and discussed who was good for each part so we could express our feelings more clearly in that part of the songs.
Q: What are JYJ specialties?
JS: JYJ are different to other singers because we can sing with many vocals, for example, I can sing the high notes and other members can sing medium and low notes to make the best of the songs. This is our charm.
Q: This album is full of JYJ creations, please select a song that suits you the most and tell us why?
JS: I like ‘Valentine”. This song suits me well because I’m charming and this song is charming. This song can express who I am very well.
JJ: This is a very difficult question. I choose the song “Let me see”. I personally like this song because it means a lot to me and we all 3 sing this song together.
YC: I like “Valentine” , it’s been a year since this song was recorded but when we sing it again it can still grab my heart. I really like this song.
Q: Jaejoong, you once apologized to the fans you didn’t have the 6 packs to show them in your drama. So will the fans see them in the concert tomorrow?
JJ: I think it’d be difficult because, honestly, I’ve been eating a lot lately but if the fans really want to see them I’ll reconsider about it.
Q: Junsu, you are considered a musical star and your sexy role in the Musical Dracula has just ended. Could you tell us how you selected the musical role?
JS: When I considered the musical role I’d listen to their musical songs if I liked one of them I’d accept the role right away, but if there’s none that I like, then I have to reconsider again.
Q: What if Jaejoong or Yoochun accepted to take the role in the musical Dracula. Which roles would suit them the best and why?
JS: Jaejoong suits the Dracula role because his of facial features but there’s another role for Yoochun as the guy who is very into love, I think it suits Yoochun well.
Q: JYJ have been friends for more than 10 years. Is there anything you like to tell each member but hasn’t had a chance to do it yet?
JJ: If there’s anything I’d like to say but didn’t have the chance before, I think it’d be difficult to say it right now on the stage. Talking in private is a better idea.
Q: The fans always feel pity for Junsu because Jaejoong and Yoochun always tease him during the interview, is it true?
JS: Yes it’s been like this for 10 years. They like to tease me during the interview so if they don’t do it now it won’t be fun.
Q: We haven’t seen you guys for a long time, can you update us your Thai?
JS (Thai) : ma-proa (coconut)
JJ (Thai) : Chon kaew (Cheers)
MC : After you finished your drink you must say “Mod kaew” (The glass is empty)
YC (Thai) : Ting-tong (silly)
MC: Did you specify that to someone?
YC (Thai) : Mai Ting tong (not silly)
JJ (Thai) : A-roi (delicious) and I also learn the word “Pi” and “Nong) Pi is for the person who is older than you and Nong is for the person who is younger than you. I just learned those words today.
JS (Thai) : rak na joob joob (love you peck peck)
Q: JYJ has been appointed as the honorary ambassadors of 2014 Incheon Asian Games and got a chance to sing the theme “Only One” , tell us how you feel about it?
JJ: This Asian games is a great national competition. We are very honored to be invited to sing the theme song at the opening ceremony. We’d like to tell all the athletes to be careful during the competition. Although winning and losing is important but the most important thing is health. We want everyone to be safe.
Q: If you were selected to be South Korean national athletes in this Asian games . What kind of sports would you like to take part in and why?
JS: I will choose archery because it is considered South Korean national sports.
JJ: I want to participate in fencing.
YC: I’d just be the manager then. I think being manager for these two must be more tiring because I’d have to take care both of them when they’re in the competition.
Q: I think this is the question that the fans want to know, are Thai girls beautiful?
JS (Thai): rak na joob joob (love you , peck) I like Thai girls, they are beautiful and so pretty when they smile.
JJ: Hahahaha I’m not sure if I can ask this but I’d like to know when Thai girls put the make up on, are their eyebrows already thick? I saw my sisters after cleaning their make up , they had no eyebrows but I saw all the Thai girls have the eyebrows.
JS: One more thing, Thai girls got the very beautiful eyes.
YC: This question should have never been asked because I think Thai girls are very lovely. When the boys speak they end up the sentences with “krub” and girls end up with “ka” I think the “ka” accent is very imploring (the MC asked everyone to say Yoochun ka)
Q: Finally what would you like to say to the fans before going to meet them at the concert tomorrow?
JS: I’d like to thank all the fans and sponsors to give us a chance for the concert in Thailand this time. It means a lot to us because this is the final concert this year. Let’s have fun together tomorrow.
JJ: see you tomorrow
(Before Yoochun ending the press conference, the fans showed their support by showing the banner “JYJ Smile Again”)
YC: Thanks everyone for coming to this press conference. I’d like you all to continue supporting us in the concert tomorrow. Thank you so much.

Group JYJ will put on a ‘big caliber’ concert stage.
Gathering attention for holding a large, free fan exhibition every year, JYJ will hold a large, free concert this time. They are expected to grace ‘2014 Gangnam Hallyu Festival’ stage –to be conducted on a special stage on Yeongdongdae-ro [/street] in front of Korea Electric Power Corporation(KEPCO)– on their own for over 2 and a half hours in Samseong-dong, Seoul at 7 pm KST on October 5th.
This concert is the Seoul encore concert of JYJ’s ‘THE RETURN OF THE KING’, that is underway in parts of Asia by JYJ currently. In particular to be held for free-of-charge, it is raising expectations of fans already very much so.
In regards to the artists who are representing K-pop, JYJ; Seoul’s Gangnam-gu Office –who is sponsoring the event– is expecting 3,300 people to be arriving on that day. The number of people is 10% more than last year.
On September 14, an official of the event said, “It was not an easy decision for JYJ, who boasts ticket power, to conduct a free concert,” yet, “Their stage on that day can even be viewed as the definitive stop of their Asia tour to be held in the meantime”.
Meanwhile, continuing on with their Asia tour in Seoul, Hong Kong, Beijing, Taipei, etc.; JYJ will proceed with a concert also in Shanghai, China on September 20.

The festival includes a Hallyu Festival (K-Pop Concert – JYJ!), Gangnam Grand Sale (up to 60% discounts at participating department stores, accommodations and concert halls), International Peace Marathon and Fashion Festival.
About 2014 Gangnam Hallyu Festival usually there’s a number of artists who perform each year, but for this year (2014), it will be only JYJ! ^__^ Since this is a free concert and open to the public. Let’s support JYJ!

JYJ (Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, Kim Junsu) have proven their everlasting popularity by topping the album sales charts for two consecutive weeks.
According to Hanteo Charts, JYJ’s second full-length album ‘JUST US’ has sold a total of 28,840 copies from the 4th till the 10th of August, making it the most-sold album of the week.
After being released offline on the 29th, the album sold 32,788 copies in its first week and topped the charts, making this its second consecutive week in the top position.
The group also proved their popularity overseas when their album ranked second place on the Oricon weekly charts and 4th on Billboard’s world album charts. These achievements have been highlighted by the industry because they were achieved by an album with Korean lyrics rather than an album tailored to these overseas markets.
This is JYJ’s first album in three years since their release of ‘In Heaven’ in 2011. Their title track ‘Back Seat’ is an urban R&B track with emotional lyrics and a mystical atmosphere. It topped the music charts as soon as it was released online.
Meanwhile, the second week of August (4th~10th of August) reflected the recent trend of male idol domination. Block B’s ‘Her’ sold 14,838 copies and came in at second place. B1A4’s ‘Solo Day’ came in at third with 6,768 copies sold, and Infinite’s ‘Back’ came in at fourth place with 2,114 copies sold.

Not even a cool summer breeze could dampen the heated energy shooting out of JYJ. The air buzzed hotter than a tropical rainforest with screaming fans and JYJ’s powerful energy filling the outdoor stadium. A passionate performance and explosive screams let the world know that the ‘Kings’ had returned.
JYJ held the Seoul leg of their 2014 Asia Tour ‘THE RETURN OF THE KING’ at the Jamshil Stadium on the 9th. The venue was filled to the brim from early on in the day with 30,000 fans who had gathered to see JYJ. Holding red lightsticks in their hands, their shouts were more passionate and energetic than ever as they awaited the return of JYJ as a complete group.
Opening the night with a captivating video, JYJ greeted their fans by saying, “This is something we’ve felt since we started rehearsing yesterday, but this is great weather to have an outdoor concert. I’m reminded of that cold day many years ago; it was so cold that we couldn’t even hold our microphones properly. We’re happy that the weather is so nice today.”
Park Yoochun expressed his gratitude for his fans as he said, “It’s supposed to be summer but it feels like fall weather. It’s cool and breezy. I saw Junsu performing from behind the stage. It’s nice to be back as JYJ and to be seeing you all again. Thank you so much for not forgetting about us.”
JYJ also played a video that included a heartfelt letter from the members to their fans. In the video, JYJ said, “To our fans who have believed in us and followed us for the past ten years, we know that you’ve been smiling and crying, even when we couldn’t see you. Although we always feel more sorry than grateful, we’ll keep doing our best. Let’s make our future a happy one. The people who have the number one place in our hearts are the fans who are watching this video right now. Thank you.”
On this day, JYJ’s might could easily be felt. Standing on stage together for the first time in approximately four years, JYJ repaid their screaming fans with a passionate performance. They took on a variety of genres, from emotional ballads to exciting dance tracks and explosive rock songs. With 11 years of experience under their belt, JYJ didn’t seem to slow down at all throughout their performance, which got their fans more excited than ever.
A wide array of solo performances that showcased each member’s charm drew the attention of many. Kim Junsu sang a total of four songs, starting with ‘7 Years’ and then going on to sing ‘Tarantallegra’, ‘Turn it up’ and ‘Incredible’.
Not only did he express the innocent and beautiful emotions of childlike wonder, he also filled the stage with energy and wonder. The stage buzzed with lighting effects, dancers and Kim Junsu’s red hair, dyed such a color because of his role in the musical ‘Dracula’. His performance with 16 dancers drew people’s attention and his choreography that included a red scarf fit him very well. He showcased a variety of performances that reflected his years of experience.
Park Yoochun’s sweet solo performance captivated his fans. Starting with ’30’, Park Yoochun’s setlist included ‘Walking with Her in Spring’ and ‘I Love You’. His performance was more meaningful because it had been a while since fans had seen Park Yoochun on stage, instead of on TV as an actor. Park Yoochun’s natural and soft charm, coupled with a dance performance with his female dancers, filled the stage with his presence.
Kim Jaejoong performed ‘Dear J’, ‘Butterfly’ and ‘Mine’. Fans screamed when Kim Jaejoong came on in a revealing outfit. He replied by taking off his top on stage.
Kim Jaejoong’s performances showed the rocker within. His charming vocals harmonized with the strong instrumental and revved fans up even more.
JYJ performed over twenty songs including ‘Creation’, ‘Be the One’, ‘Babo Boy’, ‘Dad, You There?’, ‘Let me see’, ‘Found You’, ‘So So’, ‘Be my girl’, ‘In Heaven’, ‘Letting go’, ‘Valentine’ and ‘Back Seat’. They also performed ‘Empty’, ‘Get Out’ and ‘Fallen Leaves’ for their encore, bringing great joy to their fans.
The day’s performance also highlighted JYJ’s heartfelt care for their fans. JYJ traversed across a 80m extended stage to get one step closer to their fans. The stage also included a 22m-by-8m main screen that opened up, as well as 12m-by-9m screens on either side to ensure that everyone had a clear view of what was going on. The stage that was connected to the extended stage in the middle was created with a steel truss design, the first of its kind in Korea, to allow more movement.
Eight programmed moving trusses were installed on the main stage, which each truss installed with various video and lighting equipment to bring a different feel to each song. The four runway trusses around the middle stage could be lifted to look like pillars during the concert. JYJ also included an extra small stage to get closer to the fans who were seated in the second and third floor.
JYJ greeted their fans with more passion and energy than ever. This was their first time together in a while, and they seemed to enjoy it with all of their hearts. They worked hard to bring joy to their fans, and it was great to see them joking around like friends. Because they have been together for over ten years, we could feel a sense of ease and experience oozing from them. Those 150 minutes truly signified the return of the kings of K-pop.
JYJ’s fans were just as amazing as their singers. Not only did they fill the stadium with red lights, they also cheered JYJ on with passion and precision. Their love and passion could be felt through their cheers, which never stopped throughout the entire performance. It was a meaningful time for both JYJ and their fans.
Meanwhile, JYJ recently released their second full-length album ‘JUST US’ on the 29th of July. The album is their first in three years since ‘In Heaven’, and includes lyrics and songs written by the members themselves. JYJ’s popularity was proven when over 120,000 copies of the album were pre-ordered. They also dominated various online music charts when their album was released.
Kicking off their tour in Seoul, JYJ will move on to perform in eight cities around Asia, in regions such as Hong Kong, Beijing and Vietnam.
