[TRANS] 120110 TVXQ Chosen by Oricon as No.1 “Most Active K-pop Stars of 2011

TVXQ has been chosen as the most active Kpop artists in Japan for 2011.

Japan’s Oricon recently released an article with the title “An Introduction to the most active Korean artists in 2011” and selected TVXQ as the most active K-pop stars. Coming back as a 2-member group, U-Know Yunho and Choikang Changmin have shown powerful  performances that captured the attention of the viewers. Their single “Why (Keep Your Head Down)” sold over 230,000 copies in its first week, a highly popular group.

Oricon also picked TVXQ’s single “Why (Keep Your Head Down)” as the “Best K-pop Single/Album of 2011”

 After stopping musical and drama related activites for a while, members of popular idol group JYJ is now starting to take another step towards planning for activities related to acting. Park Yoochun has been selected as the male lead for the new SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama “Prince of the Rooftop House” and concrete details on dates and the signing of the actual contract is expected to be completed by this weekend. (T/N: This may not be true since there are articles that refute this)

“Prince of the Rooftop House” is a romantic comedy about a prince from the Chosun era who lost his wife during a war, and travels through time to the modern world to look for love. This role is said to have been created with Park Yoochun in mind even from the planning stages.

Member Kim Jaejoong’s acting activities are easily comparable to Park Yoochun’s. He made his debut last year in SBS’s “Protect the Boss,” and has also received requests to appear in 2-3 dramas, and these have been put up for review and planning as part of his schedule for the first half part of this year.

While Park Yoochun and Kim Jaejoong focus on the silver screen, member Kim Junsu pulls the attention of the masses to the musical industry. Kim Junsu will be meeting the fans via “Elisabeth,” which will be playing in Blue Square in Hannam-dong, Seoul starting from 8 February. He has been working hard daily in preparation for this first performance since the start of December last year.

These 3 men who are will be active in the drama and musical industries will be coming together as JYJ in March for the South American concert tours. They will be performing in Santiago, the capital of Chile on 9 March, and Lima, the capital of Peru on 11 March for the their first solo concerts. (in South America.)

Group JYJ was recently reported in Chicago Sun-Times for the first time as a Korean singer.

On January 9 (Local time), the newspaper reported on JYJ and Kanye West and said that they previously worked together.

Kanye West drew a lot of attention because he was featured in JYJ’s song “Ayyy Girl” from their worldwide album The Beginning.

JYJ was also reported in the British newspaper Guardian on December 29 of last year. The said, “Kanye West recently worked with K-pop trio JYJ.”

On the 12th January, Kim Jaejoong updated his twitter with a photo of a bread wrapper, accompanied by the words “Seems like I’ve made bread”.

The bread wrapper that Kim Jaejoong revealed attracted the attention of people as it had the name “Kim Jaejoong” printed on it, along with the expiry date “Best Before 2012.01.17″.

Idol group JYJ (Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, Kim Junsu) are beginning the year with a great start.

JYJ came out on top in the idol section of KBS’ ’2011 Icon of the Year’ Awards, chosen through votes by netizens, and were given their award and a small gift on the 5th.

JYJ, who were receiving an award as a group for the first time in a while, stated, “It feels like our fans have given us a big New Year’s present. We’re really happy to have received such a meaningful award as JYJ and this award is more precious than any other,” and “We’ll repay this gift with even greater music than before.”

Last year, JYJ held solo concerts in Spain and Germany and were successful in their individual activities in the drama and acting industries.

Kim Jaejoong was awarded the New Star Award at the SBS Drama Awards and held a solo fanmeet in China. Park Yoochun won the Best Newcomer Award at the MBC Drama Awards and Kim Junsu will be performing in the musical ‘Elisabeth’ from February.

The group will begin their overseas activities again in March. They will be the first Korean idol group to hold a solo concert in Chile and Peru on the 9th and 11th of March respectively.

Park Yoochun, Lee Gi Kwang, Seo Hyun Jin and Hyomin won the Best Newcomer Award for miniseries at the MBC Drama Awards.

The 2011 MBC Drama Awards were held at the MBC Ilsan Dream Center on the 30th and declared Park Yoochun, Lee Gi Kwang, Seo Hyun Jin and Hyomin, from the dramas ‘Miss Ripley’, ‘My Princess’, ‘Jjakpae’ and ‘Gaebaek’ respectively, as the best male and female newcomers of the year.

Park Yoochun and Lee Gi Kwang had battled it out with Yoon Kae Sang from ‘The Greatest Love’ and Jung Yong Hwa from ‘You’ve Fallen for Me’ for the award while Seo Hyun Jin and Hyomin fought Yoo In Na from ‘The Greatest Love’ and Chae Yae Ryeon from ‘Royal Family’.

[Trans] 120104 Korean Group JYJ confirmed their first concert in Chile

JYJ is the first Korean group to visit South America, and specifically our country, in addition to Peru. The event will be on the 9th of March in the Teatro Caupolican.

The uproar caused by the Korean pop – also called K-pop-, came to our country, popularized several groups, both female and male groups.

JYJ is a group formed by Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu, singers recognized around the world as part of the group DONG BANG SHIN KI (동방신기), also called TVXQ, that is considered until now as the male vocal group that has sold a lot of products in Asia.

In 2011, this trio decided to work with the American producers Kanye West and Rodney Jerkins, for their album “The Beginning.”

Their first song of the album “Ayyy Girl” was produced by Kanye West, that presented his voice in the song. Also with the master of spoken words, Malik, “The Poet” Yusef.

The tickets for the show does not yet have a definite sale date, it will be available through the system Feriaticket, and their price fluctuates between $140 USD (VIP), $80 USD (preferred) y $40 USD (general).
