TVXQ~ “Free Live Broadcast of Concert for Residents of Tsunami-Stricken Areas of Japan By CTVXQstaff_mug_ping
Group Tohoshinki is having a free live broadcast of their concert performance for the sake of residents in tsunami-stricken areas in Japan.
According to Japan’s representative music site Oricon on February 24, Tohoshinki will be having a free live broadcast of its nationwide tour concert performances at movie theaters in the northeastern affected districts in Japan on March 10.
Representatives of Tohoshinki explained the background context behind these plans, “It was because, even if it made just a little difference, Tohoshinki wished for the residents in the affected areas in Japan to be able to find some laughter and be healthy.”
Apart from including the residents of the relevant districts, this event will also see students being invited to the live broadcast of Tohoshinki’s concert for its Japanese nationwide tour on March 10.

A heavy blizzard did not deter Japanese fans from seeing their favorite K-pop stars perform.
Popular idol group TVXQ continued their national Japan tour by performing at the Niigata Toki Messe on February 18th.
Heavy snow has been falling in the Niigata area since January, causing the airports to shut down and even taking the lives of 50 citizens.
Without fail, the snow came down hard on February 18th, the day of TVXQ’s performance. Despite the dangerous weather, 2,000 fans stood outside the venue since the early hours of the morning waiting for the performance to begin.
More fans arrived as the merchandise began selling at around 1:00PM, and all the goods sold out within an hour of going on sale, setting a new record.
By the time TVXQ wraps up their Japan tour around April, they will have put on 26 performances in 11 different cities including Hiroshima, Osaka, Saitama, Tokyo, and more.
TVXQ will have performed in front of an estimated number of 550,000 total fans by the time the tour comes to an end, making it the single greatest tour TVXQ has ever put on.

The music video of Tohoshinki’s new single “Still” (to be released on Wednesday, March 14th) has been completed and partially revealed. The concept of this music video is to express “the feeling towards a person already gone”, ” sorrowfulness”, “loneliness & fidgetiness”. In the beginning of the video, the duo carried out few acts expressing sadness, which became precious clips showing Yunho and Changmin’s charismas as actors. The music video was filmed for one whole day in a studio located in Tokyo city at the end of January, in between their concert tour lives. Although an idea of location shooting was also proposed originally, there were concerns about the possibilities of bringing chaos to the shooting site. Therefore, the filming team eventually decided to build the stage sets, including a coffee shop, in the studio.
In a scene of walking on the street, the treadmills were used for shooting. By changing the directions of the treadmills for several times, it attempted to express an even stronger feeling of loneliness on a noisy street.
The comments from the members themselves are as follows.
” It conveys the feeling of loneliness by the scene in which there we are sitting alone in the coffee shop with a glass window facing the street that lots of people are walking on, or the scene that we are standing alone but there are many people walking around us. ” (Changmin)
” The highlight is the singing scene with sorrowful facial expressions while looking into the camera. I think it would be quite touching, as we also feel kind of embarrassed when we watch it ourselves.(laugh) ” (Yunho)

“Ever since restarting their activities in January last year, we have always wanted to do their own solo live tour. We wanted to show our thankful feelings to those who gave us their support even when we couldn’t do activities as Tohoshinki, so we worked really hard in preparation for this tour.”
On 18-19 January, Tohoshinki started their largest tour in Tohoshinki history, the “Tohoshinki Live Tour 2012 ~TONE~”. With 24 performances at 11 location, it is expected to attract a total audience of 450,000 people.
It has been 3 years since their last solo tour. For Yunho (25) and Changmin (23) , this is the first time they are doing a tour as two. And Yunho spoke about these thoughts during the opening MC.
The location was covered in red penlights, from the seats in the stands that extended to the ceiling.
“Tickets this time were hard to obtain, even for fanclub members. Although a ballot was held after submitting their entries, they mostly couldn’t get tickets (weak laugh). Eventually, just before the concerts, not only “standing seats” but also “restricted view” and “restricted experience” seats were sold.”
Often unheard of, avex explains what these “restricted view seats” (8,500 yen) and “restricted experience seats” (8,000 yen) are, on their website, explicitly stating that they are “Seats where members cannot be seen during the performance and videos, and ‘restricted experience seats’ are seats at the ends of the stage, where there is a high chance that you cannot see videos as well as the main stage performances.”
However, this was still great news for fans who “want to see the movements of the two people,” and those seats were completely sold out as well.
Ms A, (45 years old, housewife) who was actually sitting at the restricted view seat, testified that, “Although there were stage equipment placed nearly, but actually compared to those at the back of the arena, and those at the 2nd and 3rd levels of the stands, I think we probably had a better view. I don’t really know why such good seats were considered as restricted view seats.”
Also, Ms B (48 years old, office worker) who sat at the “restricted experience seats” said, “For the performance at the hanamichi (t/n: the part of the stage that extends into the audiences’ seats) and the main stage, I could only see the backs of Yunho and Changmin. But as the two members walked in and out from the ends of the stage very often, the view then was so clear that we could even see the sweat on their faces. “
