“Korea’s musical industry is expanding rapidly in a short time, it is foreseen that the growth will be expedited in the future. This will especially be true via the ticketing power of pop stars like Kim Junsu, which left a deep impression on me.”

The representative, Thomas Drozda (46), from United Stages Vienna (VBW), the production company that brought ‘Mozart!’ to Korea, received an interview on the 30th last month.

After witnessing the Korea ticket sales of ‘Mozart!’, Drozda expressed shock towards the influence that stars like Kim Junsu has on the popularity of musicals.

He said, “In Austria, idol stars like Kim Junsu have never tried musicals before”, “The musical industry and the scope of a pop star’s activities never overlap”. He continued, “What is most important, is that Junsu attracted a new level of audience, and this is very valuable. Due to the influx of idol stars with strong fanbases into the Asian musical industry, the audience now has a wider composition.”

World Tour’s Finale in Pusan. For a 2-Day Concert 20,000 People Gather.

Due to the concert of the idol group JYJ that will be held in Pusan’s Sajik Indoors Gymnasium on the 11th and 12th, Pusan is getting excited. Because it seems that about 3,000 foreign fans of JYJ such as the Japanese fans will visit Pusan for this concert, the hotels and the department stores are basking in as if it is the special season.

World Tour Finale to be Held in Pusan

JYJ chose as the final city of their tour after the five cities in Thailand, Taiwan, China, and the US to be Pusan. Therefore the interest of the fans are more heated than for any other performance. Even though a 4-days 3-nights concert travel package from a travel agency in Japan reaches 3,000,000 KRW (approximately 3,000 USD), about 1,000 people registered for it.

Prior to this, the tickets for the JYJ Pusan Concert that began to be sold on the 27th of last month from 8pm completely sold out—20,000 tickets within 15 minutes of ticketing’s start. That JYJ chose Pusan as the location for their final tour stop was also to be considerate for the fans of Japan and Southeast Asia.

The good deeds of the fans of Japan also catches the eye. The members of 7 fanclubs in Japan numbering about 2,000 have currently ordered about 1.5 tons of rice and plan to donate to JYJ. An affiliate of Rice of Je Dreamy, a rice garland business, said: “Even now the orders are continuing and we expect that about 2 tons will gather.” The names of the Japanese fans who participated in the donation will be written on a large cloth and will be placed in front of the concert venue along with the rice garland. JYJ plans to give the donated rice to a societal relief organization in the Pusan area.

Hotels / Distributors Flash Season

The employees of Nongsim Hotel, which is closest to the concert venue, has gone into emergency work system on the day as the members of JYJ (Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun and Kim Junsu) and the affiliates of the agency C-JeS are staying there. The hotel plans to make the room that JYJ stayed in into the “JYJ Room” to utilize in marketing.

Pusan Lotte Hotel has been picked as the ticket-distributing place for the JYj concert tickets and it is planned that on the 11th, thirty-five tour buses (45 people each) will gather in the hotel. This hotel has already has ceased taking reservations a month ago for its 200 rooms. The hotels that are around the Haeundae (T/N: Pusan’s beach) area are also seeing their rooms run out. Sentum Hotel, thanks to the effects of the Sinsegye Sentun City which is the vicinity’s largest department store and convenient transportation, has had 500 Japanese fans book about 300 rooms.

Department stores and Duty-Free shops have also become busy alongside the above. The Lotte Duty Free store, in order to lure the customers who visit the Lotte hotel in order to receive their tickets to the Duty Free store, has prepared as gifts about 1000 clear files that has JYJ’s photographs. An affiliate of the Lotte Department store said: “Because JYJ fans of Japan and China are visiting Pusan en masse, we are looking forward to an increase in sales.”

[TRANS] 110608 JYJ’s Japanese Charity Concert Ends In Great Success

JYJ’s Japanese charity concert ended in great success.

Having already donated 600 million Won for the victims of the earthquake that shook the nation of Japan in March, JYJ held a successful charity concert on the 7th at 2pm and 7pm with 20,000 fans at the Yoyogi National Stadium in Tokyo.

This was JYJ’s first Japanese concert since Avex put a halt on all JYJ activities last October so the two-hour performance was meaningful for both JYJ and their Japanese fans.

Hiroko Saito(25), a fan who attended the concert, stated, “I was nervous because I thought the concert was cancelled due to Avex’s obstructions. I was so happy to see JYJ performing in Japan.” Yuko Yoko(37) stated, “I received a great amount of courage from JYJ who were sincere in their worries throughout the concert of the victims of the earthquake. I will continue to support JYJ’s future activities.”

CEO Baek Chang Joo of C-JeS Entertainment stated, “The fans played a big role in holding this concert,” and “Though others tried to stop us from using certain concert venues, they were unable to break down the passion of the fans who support JYJ. Please think of this performance, not only as a charity concert, but the signal that signifies the start of JYJ’s Japanese activities.“

JYJ, who successfully ended their charity concert in Japan, will be greeting Korean fans at the Busan Sajik Indoor Gymnasium on the 11th and 12th of this month.

JYJ’s popularity continues to soar as their music essay ‘Their Rooms, Our Story’ was deemed the best seller of celebrity-written books of this year by Kyobo Books.

Air Busan will be flying a chartered plane for the Japanese tourists who will be flying to Busan to attend popular singers’ JYJ’s concert.

According to Air Busan, tourists from Japan are flocking to Busan to attend the JYJ concerts that will be held on the 11th and 12th in the city. Though Air Busan currently has two flights per day on the Osaka-Busan route, they do not have enough seats to accommodate to the sheer number of tourists flying in.

Because of this, Air Busan has decided to fly an extra chartered A321-200 plane of 195 seats to connect the Japanese fans to their Korean singers. All seats were sold in two days following their release.

A representative of Air Busan stated, “Air Busan is the first in Korea’ history to fly a chartered plane for a concert,” and “We’ve done this to reduce the unfortunate situation of Japanese fans being unable to attend their favorite singers’ concert because they weren’t able to book a plane ticket.”

EDITOR S NOTE WHAT is with all the…

EDITOR”S NOTE

WHAT is with all the Hogwash about U-Kiss, Code-V and the like reenacting, replacing, or surpassing a group as popular, even split, as DBSK?

Each one of these groups has, I am sure, its own dynamic, attraction, and appeal based upon the interaction and abilities of the individuals that comprise the groups. Even providing U-Kiss with the same staff, and executive leadership as was there for DBSK is no guarantee of tremendous success. Why? Simply because the success of DBSK has come primarily from the group dynamic of five of the most talented and individually determined people to hit the industry. What they have accomplished both as five members of DBSK, and now as JYJ and HoMin, three members and two members respectively, is astronomical. Even with U-Kiss’ intended “packed schedule” (which may not be a blessing btw) they have much to do to even come close to the legacy of DBSK.

Not only that, but the majority of DBSK fans are made of tough stuff, and loyalty is one of the glues that holds this fanbase together. We are “fanily”, a new coined phrase of my own that expresses JYJ and HoMin’s fanbase. There are always a few who run on the edge of the pack and drift off at some point–but these are few. As in the case of JYJ, what other group(s) can you think of, who, despite being unable to market new albums or promotions, or distribute products to the whole of their fanbase, still has the loyalty of their fans after a year of more of separation?

There will always be wannabees, and imitators just like with Elvis Presley, living their lives off of someone else’s accomplishments–but the original always is the best. Market these groups on their own merit Avex. You do not need to make them strive to live up to DBSK’s accomplishments. I’m sure that over time–these later groups will not suffer as much as DBSK, who broke the ground in Japan at the cost of their time, energy, and well-being. After all, these new groups will work hard to please your expectations, forfeiting their own desires until such time as they wise up to the reality of their everyday existence.

If they garner as large a fanbase as DBSK over time, let them do it on their own merit. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel.

Translation 110608 U-Kiss “To Continue The Legacy of TVXQ”

[Translation] 110608 U-KISS “To Continue The Legacy Of TVXQ”

U-KISS will reenact the legacy of TVXQ in Japan.

Recently, U-KISS announced that they would be entering the Japanese market with Avex. Avex gave U-KISS’s potential high praise and gave Watanabe-san, who used to be in charge of TVXQ, full reigns to U-KISS’ Japanese activities. Avex also appointed all staff members who helped TVXQ reach the top spot in Japan to help U-KISS as well.

U-KISS’ agency NH Media stated, “Avex has confidence in U-KISS. They have discovered potential that comes close to that of TVXQ. We have confirmed their plans to provide the best and most active support possible.”

The support from Avex is fuelling U-KISS’ Japanese activities. Their first album, which is to be released on August 24th, includes the title song <0330> of their Japanese license album . They plan to have a major debut single release in December and hold a nation-wide tour early next year. They plan on maintaining a packed schedule as they fly back and forth Korea and Japan.

Translation 110608 Netizens Are Baffled By TVXQ’s “Crazy Suicidal Schedule”

[Translation] 110608 Netizens Are Baffled By TVXQ’s ‘Crazy Suicidal Schedule’

This looks like a totally grueling schedule. No wonder our guys were being driven crazy. At least JYJ is no longer subject to this. Momma Cha

The schedule of TVXQ, when it was a five-member group, has become a hot topic once more.

Recently, TVXQ’s schedule was sorted and released in an online community, catching the attention of many netizens.

Spanning from July of 2008 to July of 2009, the schedule is deemed to have been ordered and sorted by a TVXQ fan and includes the phrase ‘This excludes some activities such as photoshoots for magazines, music recording sessions, filming for MVs, filming for DVDs, photoshoots for photobooks, and filming for CFs.‘

The schedule surprised many as it shows an endless repetition of flying in and out of the country with at least 3~4 scheduled activities per day and little to no rest.

Netizens who saw this stated, “It would be hard to follow if one was not healthy”, “It’s a suicidal schedule”. “This must be the kind of road people have to walk on to be the best” and “They must not even have the time to eat. That’s sad.”

Fanaccount 110609 SM Town in Paris ~ Day…

Fanaccount] 110609 SM Town in Paris ~ Day 1

So, I think I will make fanaccount for the 4 days of the SM Town in Paris, since it will last 4 days for me.
Day 1 is over : the arrival at CDG airport.

And it was just a mess.

Yesterday, we saw fancams of SNSD’s arrival, and it was respectful and very calm. i’m not fan of the girls, but I was glad for them that they didn’t have problem.
Today was really something else. We were kinda expecting it actually (3 bands arriving, including SHINee, who got in my opinion the worst groupies as fans)

The flight was scheduled to arrive at 6:20PM, and I arrived at the airport with [info]museelo a little before 1pm. there were only 4 girls who were already there.
So it was pretty calm for a bunch of hours, but at arround 4pm, much more fans came, and started waiting everywhere, including in the people’s way >.< And since the Korean cameras were there, everybody was yelling, they told us to make noise anyway, to film us. I was having a DBSK banner + a paper with “TVXQ hwaiting” on it, and a Yunho SM Town uchiwa ^^ , and the camera filmed me a lot. They interviewed me about “are you learning korean ?” or “why do you like Kpop ?” I answered calmly, wanting to show them something else than “the groupie side” of Kpop fan, that some Kpop can be mature etc. We wondered a lot about “what is the best location to wait for them”. At the beginning, we were near the arrival gate, but we ended more around the exit gate. A lot of Yunjae fans where here, with lightboard, huge banners, I was so happy so see them ♥ The flight was delayed. 20 minutes at the beginning, then 40 minutes. I heard them arriving before seeing them. Fangirls were yelling so loudly >.< Then we saw a bunch of bodygards and policemen, and then, the king. Yunho was in da place. I was only able to see him, and I was like “omg omg omg omg”. He passed by me super close, and then, that when I just noticed Changmin, wo was just behind him XD popping in front of my eyes. He was wearing a hat. Then, it happened, because there was SHINee following. And seriously, some of their fans were really disrespectful : they were folowing them, walking on the other fans, pushing them. I was only able to see the back of Taemin’s hair, because I was struggling to stay still and not falling. Then, I kinda manage to see Luna from f(x) waving at us, and it was over. I backed off for safety, and when the psychopath had left, i went out to see if we can see something inside their black van. The answer is no. Apparently, some were knocking at the van’s windows, so the boys closed the curtains. I stayed until the vans left, waving my TVXQ paper and uchiwa, just in case they were watching outside. Then, I got interviewed once again, and the guys asked me “How does it feel to see Dong Bang Shin Ki in real ?”. Honesty, the only thing that popped in my mind was “gaaaaaaah I’m in heaven”, but I tried to answer something more elaborate. I took me some dozen of minutes to go back on Earth (I haven’t still fully landed yet), to realized that I got Yunho and Min at less than 1 meter from me, and that they were freaking HANDSOME !!! TVXQ arrival at Paris airport 08/06/11

Tomorrow, I plan to go to the airport again to see Suju’ arrival, and I’ll attend the rehearsals of the concert since I have a soundcheck package. I hope we will attend Homin’s rehearsal !!
