[TRANS + PICS] 111001 Yoochun on KOSMO Newspaper in Malaysia

The Park Yoochun Territory

Brought up in the United States, Park Yoochun is also known as Micky Yoochun. His popularity has expanded beyond Korea and into Japan, and now the Yoochun fever has attacked Malaysia through his drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal

Unexpected Achievements
He started his career as one of the band members of DBSK or TVXQ, which was the biggest band from South Korea. Unfortunately while at the height of their popularity in Asia, Park Yoochun or Micky, together with another two band members Jae Joong and Junsu filed a lawsuit in July 2009 against SM Entertainment due to unfair contract

The court case caused TVXQ to be in hiatus and Yoochun could not partake in any public activities as a TVXQ band member

Fortunately 2010 proved to be a very good year for Yoochun when he re-appeared with a new band JYJ formed together with his other two former band members from TVXQ

Yoochun also appeared in two dramas – Beautiful Love and the successful Sungkyunkwan Scandal, which put him back in the limelight. He received seven (7) awards in various awards ceremonies in Korea thanks to Sungkyunkwan Scandal.

“ I never thought that I would receive many awards for my first drama because I think I still have a lot to learn. These awards are impactful but make me feel more pressured to do better in my next project. And it motivates me to work harder” said the 25-year-old Yoochun

Yuchoon feels very grateful for being able to play the role of Lee Seon Joon during the Joseon Dynasty in Sungkyunkwan Scandal.

“I am very grateful to Sungkyunkwan Scandal because the project came through when I was unable to perform on stage due to the lawsuit with SM Entertainment. My interest in acting also suddenly intensified during this period. But when I watch myself on the Sungkyunkwan Scandal, I was quite embarrassed because I think that I should have done much better in acting my role as Lee Soon Joon” said Yoochun

“During the filming of Sungkyunkwan Scandal, a lot of people asked me why didn’t I venture into acting much earlier. To me, the time doesn’t really matter as long as I am prepared and willing to learn. I did not act because I want to gain popularity or win awards. All those will come naturally if I can really play my character well” added Yoochun who studied in the US during high school

Yoochun received many offers and the drama that he accepted next was Miss Ripley. The series has just ended it’s airing in South Korea in July 2011. He was heard saying “After Sungkyunkwan Scandal, I received many scripts but I was so busy so I couldn’t read all the scripts that was sent for consideration. But almost always, I will usually accept projects after discussing with people close to me”

Acting or Singing
When asked which one is closer to his heart, Yoochun answered, “I like both acting and singing. I do not wish to choose which one is more important because I have been writing songs since high school. I love music very much. Even though I don’t have much free time, I will still find time to play the piano once in a while. And if I get inspired, I will immediately record the melody”

“As an actor, I am required to read and study the scripts properly. It is demanding but as soon as the filming starts, I begin to live the character. And I love both these experiences as it gives me great pleasures in life” said Yoochun

Even though his career is doing so well now, he is aware that his popularity may not last forever. Fans may grow tired of him especially when there are many new and younger artistes

Yoochun said “I always wonder how long do I continue singing and acting. I would like to put a bright smile to the faces of my mother, family, friends and fans. I want to make people who are important to me – happy” He reasoned that he wants to work hard now – “so that when my mother is old and if her health is not so good, I will be able to always be by her side to take care of her”

Girlfriend
Without concealing his desire to fall in love, Yoochun was mentioned several times about wanting to have a girlfriend. He was previously rumored to be dating Park Min Young, his co-star in Sungkyunkwan Scandal. That proved to be untrue.

“ I want to fall in love and have a girlfriend. I have never brought any girl back to be introduced to my family as my girlfriend. I wish to bring someone soon before my father’s health gets worse” said this older brother of actor Park Yoo Hwan

Yoochun also explained the type of woman that he wants as his girlfriend. He said, “I like someone who calms my heart and is a domesticated type. She also needs to be able to communicate well with people close to me especially my family members”

NEWS 110929 KBS Reviews JYJ’s “In Heaven” Album…

[News] 110929 KBS reviews JYJ’s “In Heaven” album and deems “Pierrot” and “Mission” ineligible for broadcasting

KBS just finished their review of JYJ’s 1st Korean studio album “In Heaven” on September 28th. Nearly all of JYJ’s tracks passed KBS’s reviews except two, “Pierrot” and “Mission.” The two songs were deemed ineligible for broadcasting.

The broadcasting company states that the lyrics to the track “Pierrot” are inappropriate because they are a personal attack to SM Entertainment’s Lee Sooman. The lyrics read, “There is nothing ahead of money, you are a complete pro. Properly p.s.m.”

During the process hearing, KBS stated that the lyrics “p.s.m” from JYJ’s “Pierrot” can only be understood as President Sooman, which gives off the impression of their personal attack towards the SM Entertainment CEO. JYJ is currently undergoing a lawsuit against SM Entertainment. Therefore, “Pierrot” was deemed ineligible for broadcasting due to it being a song that “holds a grudge against someone.”

An official representing JYJ told Star News on September 29th, “KBS has arbitrarily interpreted ‘p.s.m.’ without going through the verification procedures. They are not a deliberate attack towards anyone. You have to understand the lyricist’s intentions with a bit more effort.”

He continued with, “The written lyrics aren’t intended for any one person. It questions society as a whole. The target was not written towards a specific person.”

The lyricist of the song “Pierrot,” Kim Jaejoong, can request a reconsideration and submit an explanation of what the lyrics mean to reverse KBS’s ruling.

“Pierrot” has been questioned ever since it’s release. Last November at the Jamsil Stadium during JYJ’s concert, reporters present asked Jaejoong about the song, to which he replied, “It is a song written to educate on the reality and to express the anger for the suppressed freedom.”

A few minutes ago, Jaejoong tweeted on the matter and said, “The one thing that I’m curious about despite having had no sleep for 33 hours.. who thought of “president” for p..? And everything that comes afterward as well.”

In addition, JYJ’s “Mission” has the lyrics “So f*** off no more talk,” and due to the swearing involved, did not pass KBS’s review for broadcasting. However, JYJ’s remaining songs on the album “Nine,” “In Heaven,” and “The Boy’s Letter,” were all deemed eligible for broadcasting on KBS’s networks.

JYJ is still waiting on broadcasting verification from television companies MBC and SBS.

NEWS Shortage Of JYJ’s New Album, “In Heaven”

[News] Shortage of JYJ’s new album, ‘In Heaven’

50,000 copies of JYJ‘s new album, ‘In Heaven‘, have already been sold just two days after it’s release and the distributors are currently working rapidly to produce more albums to meet the high demand.

According to a website that tracks the volume of album sales in real time, ‘In Heaven’ is currently #1, having sold more than 50,000 copies since it’s release.

But this was somewhat expected as once pre-orders began on the 10th, 300,000 copies were immediately reserved. The distributors are working overtime to meet the demands of JYJ’s fans, but the supply cannot keep up.

Not only that, the title track “In Heaven” written by Jaejoong himself along with “Get out” are currently both swiftly reaching the top of various music charts.

Their management company C-Jes stated, “We are taking appropriate action to produce more albums so that it’s accessible to all of our fans.”

Translation 110926 JYJ, Without Any Programme Invitation…Believing The Integrity of KBS

[Trans] 110926 JYJ, Without Any Programme Invitation… Believing The Integrity Of KBS‏

JYJ (Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu) swept the top spots of various online charts though without any appearance on broadcasting companies’ programmes, proving their strong popularity. However the main concern from the fans remains whether they are able to perform in music programmes or not.

It can be seen from Olleh music website that the tracks from JYJ’s first korean album “In Heaven” (which includes the songs revealed in JYJ’s world tour) occupied the 1st, 2nd and 3rd spots for two weeks continuously. The difference with other artistes who released songs during the same period of time was that this achievement was done with no participation in any music programmes, thus heightening its meaningfulness. Furthermore the album that was slated to be released on the 27th, has already received more than 300,000 pre-orders, resulting sold out in various online music stores. Fans from Japan, China and various Asian countries have placed their pre-orders as well, causing insufficient supplies. Nonetheless, JYJ was still nowhere to be seen in any music programmes.

JYJ’s management company C-JeS Entertainment said, “There was no invitation to any programme. It could be due to the album yet to be released. We are still monitoring the situation.”

C-JeS further expressed, “In May, with regards to KBS’s stance on performance broadcast restriction due to lawsuit with ex-company, we have officially presented that the court has ruled twice in our favour for JYJ’s non-restriction activities, i.e. the ability to perform. KBS has accepted such rulings and had expressed that should JYJ officially released an album, they would be able to participate in performances without any problem. We believed in such integrity and hopefully JYJ will be able to participate in the programmes for the fans who have been supporting them.”

However, the activities for JYJ were not emphasized on programmes afterall.

JYJ’s marketing representative expressed, “The activities in the later half of the year for JYJ includes their first visit to Spain, Germany etc, for their concert tour. There is a Japan concert as well, thus we are trying to reach the audience in various ways other than programmes.”

JYJ’s latest MV for “Get Out” has met the audience officially through LG Electronics’ CF. In 2011, they are also eagerly helping the less fortunates as honorary ambassadors.
