Kim Jaejoong (25) attended the production press conference of new SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Protect The Boss’ on the 27th afternoon held at SBS building in Seoul.
Kim Jaejoong will be portraying the character of capable Financial Prince Cha Mu Won, acting against Ji Sung, Choi Kang Hee and Wang Ji Hye. Although he is the talent who is excellent in handling matters and with gentleman poise, but as the time passes by, changes occur with the surroundings.
Kim Jaejoong’s first domestic drama had attracted lots of attention. He, who debuted as an actor through Japan’s drama, “In Japan, all the staffs are Japanese. Therefore they miraculously looked at me and treated me very well. If I were to say a similarity between acting in Korea and Japan, it would be that both treat me especially well,” saying this while laughing. He also talked about the most worrying thing in domestic drama. “Because Japanese and native language are not the same, it was less burdened on the contrary. It is a domestic drama and although it is my own country, I am afraid that I might speak wrongly thus I am rather worried about this.”
In the revealed video, Kim Jaejoong’s expression and talking were very natural. To this, Kim Jaejoong laughed and praised himself, “Today is my first time watching the edited video, it is not too bad.”, “It doesn’t seems to be me. The person (meaning Kim Jaejoong himself) in the video, is quite good.”
Though the attention was on Kim Jaejoong’s first domestic drama, the fans’ gifts placed at the production press conference garnered even more attention. Both domestic and international fans have sent rice wreaths to support Kim Jaejoong’s drama, expressing their support.

A total of 80 groups of Kim Jaejoong and JYJ fanclubs have sent the 6.56 tonnes of rice. They did not just sent the rice wreaths. They donated the rice to the less fortunate under the name of Kim Jaejoong after the activity.

Trans] 110727 Kim Jaejoong, “Targeting New Actor Award? I Have No Desire.”
JYJ’s member and actor Kim Jaejoong expressed his zero desire for the new actor award.
Kim Jaejoong revealed his thoughts on debuting in domestic drama at the production press conference held on the 27th afternoon at Seoul’s SBS Mu Dong building for SBS new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Protect The Boss’ (Script by Kwon Ki Young and directed by Son Jung Hyun).
Although he had acting experiences through last year’s Japan Fuji TV’s ‘Sunao Ni Narenakute’ and acted with Han Hyo Joo in the movie ‘Heaven’s Postman’, but it is his first act in domestic drama and thus had the extraordinary sentiment.
Kim Jaejoong expressed, “It seems that I am starting to have the desire to achieve the new actor award but since this is my first challenge, isn’t it bad to have the thought of getting the award?”, “I have never gotten any other award in school other than the perfect attendance award.”
He continued humbly, “I am working at this as a total new acting experience and therefore I am learning a lot from the senior actors such as Ji Sung, Choi Kang Hee, Wang Ji Hye etc.”
He talked about the difference between acting in Japan and domestically, “Acting in Japan was not done with my native language and on the contrary, my burden was lessened. But with the responsibility of performing well in my native language, I was therefore nervous every time.”
Additionally, Kim Jaejoong received a piece of special acting advice from JYJ member and actor Park Yoochun who acted recently in the popular ‘Miss Ripley’. To this, he said, “Have to practice on not sleeping due to the overnight filming. After the conclusion of this work, I plan to go on a holiday with the members.”
Kim Jaejoong is acting as the composed Cha Mu Won who is the 3rd generation of the conglomerate and his character surrounds the power struggle and involvement with Ji Sung’s Cha Ji Hyun, who is related as first cousin.
He relayed his thoughts, saying, “When I first joined in, I envied the free-spirited and a bit nonsensical character of Cha Ji Hyun.” He continued, “I am still unable to adapt and have to act according to the director’s expressions. The other actors are doing very well and it seems that if I am able to work hard, it will be fine.”
‘Protect The Boss’ which involves Ji Sung, Kim Jaejoong, Choi Kang Hee, Wang Ji Hye etc, will be taking over the broadcast timeslot of SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘City Hunter’, premiering on the 3rd of August.

[Trans] 110713 Kim Jaejoong, Immersed In The Role Of The “Director”
Having their two month long world tour end, JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong has found the appeal of the role of a director. He conveyed his impressions of the world tour and when asked to describe it in one word, he stated that it was “very fun”.
Kim Jaejoong stated proudly that, “After the end of the tour, I was praised by the company, my members, and by the staff. There were a number of songs that I myself composed just for this tour, and I was also the director of the concerts in Asia. And it was this kind of concert that was also performed in America. There were various difficulties and troubles, but to have accomplished such a big tour without having to ask for help from elsewhere was very satisfying.”
Through this recent world tour, Kim Jaejoong debuted as a director. When asked to choose between artist and director he laughed and said, “During the actual performance, I think it’s better to be the artist.” He further stated that, “Directors are really amazing, and I want to educate myself more about directing dramas. Being a director is about overcoming all the complications in order to shoot as how you desire. But in the end, a drama is a drama and a performance is a performance, and either of these have their own appeal.”
One of the most memorable moments for Kim Jaejoong with this world tour was their performance in Bangkok. Kim Jaejoong stated that, “I wanted to direct the first concert no matter what. The reaction from the fans was really good too so I was very touched.”
“Director Kim Jaejoong” also said that he had a desire to direct concerts and performances of other artists. He stated that, “I have an interest in directing performances for other artists similar to us. I once talked with my close friend Kim Hyunjoong about working on a album with our own style, and to do activities together but Kim Hyunjoong said that he was too greedy about his own music and would end up directing everything himself”, Jaejoong said laughing.
Also, while directing the gymnastics exhibition for Son Yon Jae, Kim Jaejoong reflected on how that experience had been extraordinary and enjoyable. “Son Yon Jae’s presentation showed that she understand more than what I understood I had to direct.”
He added, “I think if you truly play the part of the director and take it seriously, it would be a very interesting and an attractive area of work. Of course, right now I’m still taking small steps and learning, but I feel like my point of view in seeing the whole of a concert has gotten bigger, wider. During concert rehearsals, there were moments when I felt I wasn’t an artist standing on a stage, but I was behind the audience and directing, and that I myself was fulfilling a contribution to my team,” he concluded proudly.
Meanwhile, the “singer Kim Jaejoong” commented on their upcoming Korean album as “currently under preparation”. “I want to release it as soon as all the good music comes out but I wonder if it will be possible this year. We are currently even between different activities,” he added, not giving a definite answer.
Also in regards to whether he will be taking part in the OST of “Protect the Boss”, he said that there were still no such plans. He stated that, “At the moment there are no compositions that I could use for this drama, and it’s also difficult to join in so soon. But if such a proposal comes I will accept in order to support the drama.” He ended with this lingering statement, amplifying the expectations of the fans.

This is so wonderful-the support for the actors (especially our own Kim Jaejoong 🙂 ) in ways that ensure that their basic needs are met. Shooting schedules are so intense that without the fans help there could be some hungry, hurting stars. Momma Cha

[NEWS] 110707 JYJ’s Jaejoong’s Drama Protect The Boss Begins Filming!
Filming for JYJ‘s Jaejoong‘s upcoming drama, Protect The Boss (formally The Last Secretary), is officially underway.
So far, SBS has revealed photos of the cast’s first script reading, the drama teaser shoot, and stills from the first episode.
Netizens were particularly intrigued by still shots of Choi Kang Hee at various interviews. According to drama reps, in the first episode Choi Kang Hee’s character, Noh Eun Seol, interviews at a whopping ten places before she is hired by Cha Muwon, played by Jaejoong.
The photos show a serious Jaejoong sitting on the interview panel and Choi Kang Hee being a 4-D interviewee. (Who shows off their martial arts skills at an interview for a huge firm?!) After being asked “What are you good at?” she sings and dances to “Twinkle Twinkle” by Girls’ Day.
I suppose it wouldn’t be a romantic comedy without some really awkward first impressions, now would it?
Protect The Boss is about Noh Eun Seol, who gets a job as a secretary and gets caught in a love triangle between her boss, the immature heir to the company, Cha Jiheon (played by heartthrob actor Ji Sung) and his oh-so-perfect cousin/rival Cha Muwon.
Protect The Boss will begin airing on August 3, after the conclusion of City Hunter.

[NEWS] Jaejoong Has Delightful First Script Practice in “Boss” with Ji Sung and Choi Kanghee
“Boss” Kim Jaejoong, First Script Practice with Ji Sung and Choi Kanghee
Posted by Angelf4 at Monday, July 04, 2011
Ji Sung, Choi Kanghee, Kim Jaeojong, Wang Jihye – the very attractive “uber-powerful dream line” — had a delightful first meeting.
The leads of the new SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama Protect the Boss that will air as a follow-up ti City Hunter on August 3rd – Ji Sung, Choi Kanghee, Kim Jaejoong, Wang Jihye, Park youngkyu, Cha Hwayeon, and Kim Chung has gathered in one place for script practice.
The script practice, which took place in the drama practice room of the Ilsan Production Center on the 29th, was congenial from the beginning to end. The enthusiasm of the actors who were overflowing with live energy despite meeting for the first time heightened the atmosphere of the set.
Ji Sung who is attempting a daring transformation through the role of Cha Jihun who is the immature youngest son of a Chaebol corporation who has a quirky side appeared in a unique hairstyle resmiscent of Miyagi Ryota of the popular manga Slam Dunk and gathered all eyes.
Choi Kanghee, who will collaborate with Ki Sung, also stepped outside of the sophisticated bob she had until now to have long straight hair with bangs emitting innocence and thus gathered eyes.
Kim Jaejoong, who is challenging himself for the first time in a domestic drama through Boss announced his refreshing start through a comfortable and natural reading of the script. He will play Cha Muwon, the “Prince of the Financial World” who has powerful abilities. Jaejoong will play a perfect man but at the same time he will have a comic contest with Ji Sung who will play his cousin.
Wang Jihye also put herself to script practice in a lively and effervescent manner throughout the session. Park Youngkyu, Cha Hwayeon, Kim Chung and such established actors and their veteran acting shined also on the set of the script practice.
The production company replayed: “Thanks to the attention-absorbing script of Protect the Boss, a refreshing and lively romantic comedy, the filming set burst into one laughter after another. The expectations for the actors and the production team of Protect the Boss which has begun to film in earnest are also in abundance. We ask for much attention and anticipation for Protect the Boss which will gift fresh and delightful laughter to the viewers.”
