CGV, the biggest multiplex corporation in Korea, has stated that JYJ’s documentary film was cancelled due to the problems with the contract and had nothing to do with pressure from external forces.
A representative of CGV stated on the 30th, “The only reason JYJ’s documentary film ‘The Day’ was cancelled was because there were problems with the contract.”
‘The Day’ is a documentary-style film that depicts the ordinary everyday lives and dreams of JYJ.
JYJ’s side stated through their official site that, “We write this notice to inform you that the screening of the daily life documentary ‘The Day’ has unfortunately been cancelled,” and “But CGV notified us through a telephone conversation that, “As this is a contract that was not approved by the final arbiter, we will nullify the contract.””
They also stated, “We cannot accept the cancellation of this contract, which was signed after more than a month of discussions between both parties, due to an internal issue,” and “We will do our best to recover our rights by filing a civil complaint to the Fair Trade Commission and the Grievance Committee against CGV.”
(For the full translation of the notice, go here)
To this, CGV explained, “We decided not the screen ‘The Day’ because there were serious problems in the contract, including the fact that it wasn’t an exclusive run and that there wasn’t a single pre-screening of the documentary with the premiere fast approaching.” They also added, “If the cancellation was because of a certain entertainment agency, we wouldn’t have even considered screening the movie in the first place,” and “There are no external pressure issues in this case.”

Then, the reporter asked when he feels the most desperate need for a girlfriend, he answered, “That’s when I am sick. Being sick alone makes me feel sad. At times like these, I feel like being comforted by my girlfriend if I have one.”
As for questions concerning his acting career, he sincerely replied, “I also have an ambitious dream about being a good actor through a wide range of experiences in drama series and films. Among lots of senior actors I respect, I really hope, sooner than later, to play with actor Jang Hyuk in a same drama series.”

Actor Tsumabuki Satoshi (31) will be acting in Director Izutsu Kazuyuki’s ‘Hold Onto The Gold And Fly’ for the first time. It is adapted from the novel of the same title by Kaoru Takamura (58) who won Naoki Award for her novel Makusu no Yama.
Based in Osaka, it relates Koda (Tsumabuki Satoshi) as the core character, about 6 men’s plan on robbing the gold and ran about in the cold winter of Osaka streets.
The original novel won the Japan suspense and adventure award in 1990 and distributed about 790 thousands of her debut novel. The author Takamura introduced this novel with her experience while working in Osaka’s foreign trading company, “Overlooking the scenic view in Osaka from dawn to dusk, smelling Osaka and wrote this novel just like how perspiration was forced out under the sun.” This is the 15th year since Tsumabuki Satoshi debuted as an actor and it is his first time collaborating with Director Izutsu Kazuyuki. He acted as Koda who executes for others and provides sources of extremists and criminals.
The members of the robbery gang ranges from a wide variety of age and jobs. Tadanobu Asano acts as Koda’s university friend and leader Kitagawa Koji. Kiritani Kenta (31) acted as the engineer of the bank’s programming. Mizobata Junpei (22) acted as Haruki, Kitagawa’s brother who provided the equipments. Nishida Toshiyuki will be Jin, the technician who operates the lift. A very grand showcase of actors.
As for Momo who is responsible for bomb-making and self-claimed to be a foreign student in engineering, the actor would be (Tohoshinki’s) Changmin (23), debuting his acting in a movie.
The filming starts on the 7th January with the main stage as Osaka and Hyogo. Everyday was a lengthy filming from wee morning till the late night and thus was very hard. Director Izutsu said, “I am very thankful to these trustful actors who together filmed this handsome and ruthless original work into a movie.”
“With love-worthy Osaka laying as the scene, it deeply depicts the passionate men’s looks for living a life,” the director strongly said. “To men who lived with a rebellious theme, what is the number 1 motivation in the world, what is the real reason? Through this movie, I would wish to portray if the current sense of occlusion and grievance can be relieved in front of the gold,” the director said.
The movie is set to wrap up filming by early this March.
