Kim Jaejoong’s Hairstyle Change has become a hot topic.

While acting in the SBS drama “Protect the Boss” which recently ended, his fringe was long and covered the front (of his face.) As the story progressed and Cha Mu Won’s (Kim Jaejoong’s) feelings changed, he switched to a spiked fringe, which showed off his forehead, and this hairstyle was nicknamed “Kkan Mu Won.”

After the drama ended, at the press conference for the release of JYJ’s first Korean album “In Heaven,” he came into the spotlight once again with his change in hairstyle which was shorter but had a fringe like before.

Seeing this, netizens said “His short haircut makes him look cleaner,” “He cut it again? It’s not just the fringe that changed..” “MD Cha seems to have disappeared completely,” “It suits him, it’s cute” and other comments.

111001 Yoochun On Kosmo Newspaper In Malaysia

Saturday, October 1, 2011

[TRANS + PICS] 111001 Yoochun on KOSMO Newspaper in Malaysia

The Park Yoochun Territory

Brought up in the United States, Park Yoochun is also known as Micky Yoochun. His popularity has expanded beyond Korea and into Japan, and now the Yoochun fever has attacked Malaysia through his drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal

Unexpected Achievements
He started his career as one of the band members of DBSK or TVXQ, which was the biggest band from South Korea. Unfortunately while at the height of their popularity in Asia, Park Yoochun or Micky, together with another two band members Jae Joong and Junsu filed a lawsuit in July 2009 against SM Entertainment due to unfair contract

The court case caused TVXQ to be in hiatus and Yoochun could not partake in any public activities as a TVXQ band member

Fortunately 2010 proved to be a very good year for Yoochun when he re-appeared with a new band JYJ formed together with his other two former band members from TVXQ

Yoochun also appeared in two dramas – Beautiful Love and the successful Sungkyunkwan Scandal, which put him back in the limelight. He received seven (7) awards in various awards ceremonies in Korea thanks to Sungkyunkwan Scandal.

“ I never thought that I would receive many awards for my first drama because I think I still have a lot to learn. These awards are impactful but make me feel more pressured to do better in my next project. And it motivates me to work harder” said the 25-year-old Yoochun

Yuchoon feels very grateful for being able to play the role of Lee Seon Joon during the Joseon Dynasty in Sungkyunkwan Scandal.

“I am very grateful to Sungkyunkwan Scandal because the project came through when I was unable to perform on stage due to the lawsuit with SM Entertainment. My interest in acting also suddenly intensified during this period. But when I watch myself on the Sungkyunkwan Scandal, I was quite embarrassed because I think that I should have done much better in acting my role as Lee Soon Joon” said Yoochun

“During the filming of Sungkyunkwan Scandal, a lot of people asked me why didn’t I venture into acting much earlier. To me, the time doesn’t really matter as long as I am prepared and willing to learn. I did not act because I want to gain popularity or win awards. All those will come naturally if I can really play my character well” added Yoochun who studied in the US during high school

Yoochun received many offers and the drama that he accepted next was Miss Ripley. The series has just ended it’s airing in South Korea in July 2011. He was heard saying “After Sungkyunkwan Scandal, I received many scripts but I was so busy so I couldn’t read all the scripts that was sent for consideration. But almost always, I will usually accept projects after discussing with people close to me”

Acting or Singing
When asked which one is closer to his heart, Yoochun answered, “I like both acting and singing. I do not wish to choose which one is more important because I have been writing songs since high school. I love music very much. Even though I don’t have much free time, I will still find time to play the piano once in a while. And if I get inspired, I will immediately record the melody”

“As an actor, I am required to read and study the scripts properly. It is demanding but as soon as the filming starts, I begin to live the character. And I love both these experiences as it gives me great pleasures in life” said Yoochun

Even though his career is doing so well now, he is aware that his popularity may not last forever. Fans may grow tired of him especially when there are many new and younger artistes

Yoochun said “I always wonder how long do I continue singing and acting. I would like to put a bright smile to the faces of my mother, family, friends and fans. I want to make people who are important to me – happy” He reasoned that he wants to work hard now – “so that when my mother is old and if her health is not so good, I will be able to always be by her side to take care of her”

Girlfriend
Without concealing his desire to fall in love, Yoochun was mentioned several times about wanting to have a girlfriend. He was previously rumored to be dating Park Min Young, his co-star in Sungkyunkwan Scandal. That proved to be untrue.

“ I want to fall in love and have a girlfriend. I have never brought any girl back to be introduced to my family as my girlfriend. I wish to bring someone soon before my father’s health gets worse” said this older brother of actor Park Yoo Hwan

Yoochun also explained the type of woman that he wants as his girlfriend. He said, “I like someone who calms my heart and is a domesticated type. She also needs to be able to communicate well with people close to me especially my family members”

News 111001 What Made “Protect the Boss” So Popular With Viewers?

[News] 111001 What made ‘Protect The Boss’ so popular with viewers?

SBS‘s ’Protect the Boss‘ seemed to come out of nowhere with its strong popularity, and many viewers who had no expectations were ultimately surprised by its quality content. But what made this drama stand out from the rest?

‘Protect The Boss’ was a feel-good drama that didn’t have any negative elements of an affair or a broken family; it also lacked a character that you loved to hate. The way that the characters caused problems in the story were endearing in their own way, and when the characters plotted against each other, the situation turned out pretty comical in the end.

For example, there was potential for ‘Cha Ji Hun’ (Ji Sung)’s ex-lover ‘Seo Na Yoon’ (Wang Ji Hye) and ‘Noh Eunsul’ (Choi Kang Hee) to get into a messy rivalry over Cha Ji Hun. But the two didn’t try to make each other’s lives miserable, and they become close friends.

Meanwhile, Cha Ji Hun and ‘Cha Moo Won’ (JYJ‘s Jaejoong) were rivals for a long time; instead of competing intensely against one other, the two fought like grade-school students. They would say things like, “I really don’t like him“, and get into scraps with one another that made the audience laugh. In reality, the two seemed like childhood friends rather than enemies.

‘Protect the Boss’ broke the mold of traditional Korean dramas, as the audience was able to relate with the more “average” and down-to-earth characters. Those who appeared to be the “bad” guy in the story actually wasn’t some horrible, irrational demon come-to-life; in the end, they were individuals who made some bad decisions, but ultimately sought happiness. The fact that these characters were relatable made the audience fall in love with the drama.

But the characters weren’t the only aspect that helped ‘Protect The Boss’ gain popularity. The main issue in the storyline didn’t lie with the characters’ conflicts with one another — it was in trying to disprove the stereotypes of being rich.

For example, Cha Ji Hun has a panic disorder, and although he is the boss, he cared very little about his job. He became a better man after meeting Noh Eunsul, but still had no ambition to take his father’s place in his company. He doesn’t want to inherit his father’s wealth, but even so, his colleagues called him mocking names like ‘Papa’s boy’. The story follows the hardships he endures before he could successfully break free from his situation.

‘Protect the Boss’ was comical and funny, and it also deconstructed the stereotypical ‘Cinderella’ story. Devoid of melancholy, excessive love, and senseless hatred, the story simply told of a person’s journey to find happiness in a relatable way.

[News] 110928 JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong Wears Fans’ Gift in “Protect the Boss”

JYJ member Kim Jaejoong received attention for wearing a pair of sneakers that was gifted to him by his fans.

Kim Jaejoong’s fanclub, heroJJbar, sent out presents to not only Kim Jaejoong, but also to the other actors as well as production staff of SBS drama “Protect the Boss”. Among the presents was a pair of sneakers.

Kim Jaejoong wore these sneakers during the filming of “Protect the Boss”. He held the courtesy of his fans by matching the sneakers with a pair of jeans instead of wearing products of a sponsor, which is usually the norm in dramas.

Seeing this, netizens reacted by saying “I’m touched by the fact that he gave us proof that he was wearing the sneakers”, “He has such a warm heart”, and “Seeing him put effort into showing us that he is wearing his present…he’s radiating warmth”.

Translation 110920 Kim Jaejoong and Wang Ji Hae Rekindle Their Love with A Ddeokbokki Date

[Trans] 110920 Kim Jaejoong And Wang Ji Hae Rekindle Their Love With A ‘Ddeokbokki Date’

Kim Jaejoong and Wang Ji Hae of SBS’ Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Protect the Boss’ enjoyed a ddeokbokki (spicy rice cakes) date together.

This was for a date that Na Yoon led the two through as her feelings for Mu Won began resurfacing.

The duo, who are being called the ‘NaMu Couple’ by viewers, were seen filming a scene that required them to eat spicy rice cakes and fish cakes together and they drew the attention of passersby as they were really enjoying the food that was in front of them.

Kim Jaejoong especially was enjoying the spicy rice cakes and Wang Ji Hae showered him with affection as she fed him.

A representative of Kim Jaejoong said, “Jaejoong’s love for spicy rice cakes is exceptional. Also, he loves spicy food so he eats spicy oyster jjamppong, which is too spicy for most people, like regular jjamppong,” and “Because you can ruin your stomach by eating food that’s to spicy, he always makes sure he eats medicine that protects his stomach.”

Editors Note: Poseidon

I held out on writing a review for “Poseidon” until I could get a better feel for the drama. This is not for children. The fight scenes, victim scenes, and etc. are quite graphic. There is bloodshed, men and women–and I gather that this is a rather complicated plot based upon anger and restitution for the murder of innocent people. Yunho’s role is short but is an essential part of the plot. I haven’t been able to fully grasp the intricacies of this drama, but when I feel as if I can actually understand it in its intent I will write again. For now–this is a PG-13 drama.   Momma Cha
