120323 Yoochun’s Gift of Pictures with Captions on Twitter

Thank you Micky Yoochun for these beautiful pictures. Our prayers are with you too. We love you. Keep Fighting!!

Addendum: Yoochun, there is much meaning in these cryptic messages. Life is rearing up into your face right now, and many decisions are looming ahead. Be brave, be strong–not in your own strength, for you have God to support you and to provide for you and your family. A portion of that support is in those of us who love you because you deserve to be loved. We will walk with you through this painful time. You have sacrificed much to gain this much ground and our job is to help you to hold that ground by giving our hands, hearts, and a portion of what we have been given. <3

[NEWS] 120322 K-Pop Fever In South America “Grow Twice As More”

[NEWS] K-Pop Fever In South America “Grow Twice As More”

CNN Chile reporter Stavros Mosjos that came to report for JYJ’s Chile concert shared, “Now K-Pop that was limited to certain fan base has now reached the public. Now is the perfect time for K-Pop to spread out to the general public.”

The furthest country from Korea, Santiago, Chile, shows Kia, Hyundai, LG, and Samsung company’s billboards are lined up on the way to downtown from Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez airport. 1 of three to four cars on the street are Korea. K-Pop is greeting an important time as Korea’s brand power is already significant in South America.

All the K-Pop fans, concert promoter, and press have stated that this year is the golden opportunity for K-Pop to spread K-Pop in South America.

According to the fans in Chile there are about 2-3 students in each classroom who are K-Pop fans. Although it only reached the mania however due to the ardent fans now K-Pop music has started to spread out to the general public.

CNN Chile reporter Stavros Mosjos that came to report for JYJ’s Chile concert shared, “Now K-Pop that was limited to certain fan base has now reached the public. Now is the perfect time for K-Pop to spread out to the general public.”

Concert promoters expect the current K-Pop of 20,000 to 30,000 market audiences to grow more than twice the size within this year. JYJ’s concert promoter Noix company CEO Gonzalo Garcia stated, “Korean artists popularity will more than double within one year. K-Pop is surely attracting quite a lot of attention.”

Some say that this type of popularity can be a temporary K-Pop boom however if you look further back Chie’s hallyu wave began much earlier. Majority of JYJ’s fan that visited JYJ’s concert March 9 has been a fan of JYJ since 5-6 years ago. This is even before the K-Pop boom started.

Cristina Jorquera, 25 shared that her Korean name is Han Boa said she became interested in Korean artists through Japanese animation. She held an interview after the concert with OSEN stating, “I liked Japanese animation which had me take interest in Japan’s pop culture which in turn made me a fan of BoA and TVXQ who were active in Japan at that time. I came to know that they were all Korean artists which led me to take interest in Korea.” Not only that she replied that majority of JYJ’s fans have been waiting for their performance for over 5 years, which tells us this is not a temporary boom.

Especially the K-Pop artists are already influencing the Chile’s youth values so it’s expected that K-Pop will become a larger influence. The stories of K-Pop artists making a name for themselves on their own seem to have contributed to being more favorable towards Korean artists. Another fan Nicole Escobar, 27 stated, “The social polarization in South America is very severe which limits the youth of dreaming of becoming successful however seeing the Korean artists that endure the difficult trainee period to become successful singers allow us to have hope ‘I can do it.’ Many fans like their stories of overcoming hardship.”

The fans have gathered actively together with other Korean artists fans to share and exchange information. Nicole Escobar, “International fan clubs are community of destiny. Although my friend is a fan of After School since there is no one in the fan club who can fluently speak Korean or English. Therefore they will request to a Super Junior fan who can speak English to translate some information. So there are these fan clubs that gather together to socialize by sharing information. If the numbers of fans are small then the Korean artists will not come to visit us, therefore it’s fairly important for all the fans to unite.”

Nevertheless there are still many things that are lacking. Fans pointed out that for K-Pop’s popularity to grow further within Chile the sharing of information needs to be more active. Cristina Jorquera expressed,“It’s is really difficult to find the information of my favorite artist in my language. More than the music that is made worldwide composers and new trend, we need the access to the information. We can even barely find one official homepage in Spanish.”

There is another assignment to solve. The reporters in Chile shared, “If album license is issued properly and CD is distributed, more fans who will purchase for $25-30 rather than purchasing it for $300-$400 from online.”

Most of all, the willingness of K-Pop stars towards the fans in South America will be the deciding factor to K-Pop sensation’s future. And more artists including Super Junior and B2ST have been reported to be preparing for concerts in South America. Big Bang, Super Junior, SHINee, 2NE1 are also popular in Chile, according to the reporters in Chile. As the interests towards K-Pop increase, there will be a higher demand for local events and concerts.

120323 Personal Note: Thank You JJ

Mr. JJ has tweeted. Hurrah!! Hurrah!!  You don’t know how much a person is a part of your existence until they are no longer there. This is what Jaejoong, Yoochun, Yoowhan, Changmin, Junsu, and Yunho have been experiencing for weeks–directly or indirectly. Now we have had our own  taste of loss, not because Jaejoong desired that we should worry, but because as a human being–he reached an inpenetrable wall. Grief has stages and this is not the first time in the last couple of years that Jaejoong has had reason to mourn.

Soul-searching is hard work. I know, I have been there many times. Self-assessment is one of the hardest tasks out there, but it must be done in order to grow. Let’s give our Guys growth time–I believe that they and ourselves will benefit from this gift.

What we can do as supporters for Jaejoong right now [as well as for Yoochun, Junsu, Changmin and Yunho] is to allow him a season of recovery free from any expectations except work and home. Specifically, when JJ chooses to reach out, and I hope he will often, we are willing to interpret, intercede, and pray for his swift recovery without excessive demands on his time and energy. Jaejoong has preparations for his drama to do.

Let’s look forward to Time Slip Dr. Jin.  Fighting Jaejoong!!!  We sincerely love you.  Momma Cha, Bethbethree, thatmelancholysoul

Editor’s Note: 120329 “Rooftop Prince” Elevator Scene Takes Us By Storm

 Rooftop Prince

SBS’s “Rooftop Prince”  starring Park Yoochun has aired it’s first episode. It is presently on drama sites with partial subs. This has been a much anticipated drama, especially in light of the recent actual sasaeng drama and parental loss in the lives of Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu. This brings some sunshine in along with the sincere efforts of Junsu to cheer us up.. Congratulations Yoochun. I will write a review as soon as I have opportunity.

Addendum:

I just finished watching Episode One of Rooftop Prince with English subs at www.viki.com

This drama is considerably complicated and starts very tragically with the death of the Crown Princess. She is not what she appears to be, and is dearly loved by the Crown Prince (Yoochun). This story line has the feel of Cinderella minus the wicked stepmother. Why have a wicked stepmother when you can have a wicked step-sister? As is natural, the Crown Prince suspects foul play, and the instinctive viewer finger points to the wronged sister of the Crown Princess.

There is a huge amount of hopping back and forth between time. Yoochun’s modern character drowns (through actual foul play), and the Crown Prince and his royal band of vigilantes end up in the apartment of the modern-day wronged step-sister.

This drama is going to be complicated and will need intense direction in order to keep the viewer from being disoriented. Over-all it looks like a great storyline, humorous and not-so-humorous plot, and I am looking forward to Episode Two. Park Yoochun is doing an excellent job of acting and so are the other characters, especially the child actresses. Episode Two should help the plot to settle in and then we will be off on a Grand Adventure!!!

O.K. Episode Two is hilarious, especially the fire scene and teaching the Guys modern conveniences like ‘ahem’  toilets. The Crown Prince is getting the picture rapidly . He knows that they have time-traveled 300 years and this will prove interesting.  BTW. What’s with the alcohol and whipped cream? This Momma must be behind the times. Absolutely funny!

Episode Three of Rooftop Prince is out. My Goodness. I laughed so hard my ribs hurt. This drama is proving to be a wonderfully hilarious ride full of quirky surprises and lots of emotional angst. Just what we all like, right? The elevator scene is so funny, funny, funny. Poor Guys, picturetakers, cameras, and all.

I wanted to cry with Micky at the palace. He can look so pathetic, can’t he? Crocodile Tears. TT

There is so much, how do you cover it all? I love everything about this drama. The characters, the plot, the colors, the situation…YAWWWW………  Momma Cha  😉  <3

The JYJ Peru concert on March 11 at Estadio X Sur Plata Nada Monumental in Lima drew in more than 6,000 fans. The concert has drawn large interest as the trio became the first K-Pop artist to perform in South America.

The South America concert has been a part of JYJ World Tour Concert that began last April Bangkok, Thailand. The tour included stops in Taipei, Vancouver, Newark, Los Angeles, Barcelona and Berlin; total of 15 different cities and performed for 210,000 audiences.

C-Jes Entertainment announced on March 13 that the concert in Peru drew up to 6,000 fans. Fans had been camping outside over a week to await the boy’s arrival and the show. The dreams of the fans were met and yet fans have been reported to have been asking for more.

During the concert that lasted for 2 hours fans cheered and sang along JYJ’s hits like ‘Ayyy Girl,’ ‘Mission,’ ‘Be The One,’ and more. There was reportedly 10 fans that fainted due to exhaustion.

The South America portion of the concert was held in Chile and Peru has been making headlines all over the local media as well as other parts in the world.

After successfully concluding the performance in Chile with 3,000 fans on March 9, the trio flew over to Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima where over 3,000 fans have been waiting for JYJ’s arrival.

Surprisingly this large unprecedented number of fans waiting at the airport wasn’t the first sign of the excitement and craze over JYJ. The first whim was back in January when the concert tickets of both Chile and Peru broke records sale. Due to the overwhelming demand of fans the Peru concert added an additional 1,000 tickets that were sold out immediately.

With the completion of their successful World Tour concert, fans are awaiting expectantly already of their next tour.

[News] Comedian Choi Hyo Jong Takes A Jab At Sasaeng Fans on ‘Gag Concert’

[News] Comedian Choi Hyo Jong Takes A Jab At Sasaeng Fans On ‘Gag Concert’

With the current controversy surrounding the issue of sasaeng fans, comedian Choi Hyo Jong made some hilarious jabs at the behavior of sasaeng fans on the latest episode of ‘Gag Concert’.

On March 18th’s broadcast of the segment ‘Praying Mantis Kindergarten’, Choi Hyo Jong’s character, Loan Shark, was asked, “What do you have to do to become a celebrity with lots of fans?” and he replied, “That’s not hard at all. All you need are solid skills, natural talent, and ability to keep your fans happy.”

He continued, “After you’re done with your schedule, you’re going home, but someone grabs you. When you’re doing your business in the bathroom and when you are sleeping, someone’s next to you. In those situations, all you have to say is ‘Thank you, I was lonely.’”

He continued saying, “You call the Chinese restaurant to order jjajangmyun, and before you order you hear, ‘Here’s your jjajangmyun oppa’. It’s your fan! Right as you get a new cell phone, you get a call right away asking, ‘Oppa, why did you change your number?’”

Choi Hyo Jong sarcastically commented on sasaeng fans saying, “They are people you are grateful for because they always stay by your side.”

Choi Hyo Jong warned to never get angry at the sasaeng fans by saying, “One day, what if this life becomes too hard and you want to get angry at your fans? Be careful. They might have a recorder.”

He concluded by leaving a message to the sasaeng fans out there, “Like how you leave space for safety while driving, it is important that you leave your oppas safety space too.”

[News] 120320 JYJ Sues, “Malicious Articles Are Just To Harm The Members”

[News] 120320 JYJ Sues, “Malicious Articles Are Just To Harm The Members

A spokesperson for group JYJ announced that they will sue a media outlet who released additional voice files regarding their ‘sasaeng fans.’

A media outlet reported, “The assailant Kim Jae Joong became a victim when media outlets covered their outbursts after certain incidents. His act of violence and violent language are interpreted as self-defense. What is worse is people think that the ‘sasaeng fans’ are not fans so they can be assaulted.”

“Obsessive love from ‘sasaeng fans’ should be blamed. They have to control themselves and reflect on their conduct. But an assailant is not allowed to turn into a victim. Even though they have been hurting a lot of stars, that doesn’t mean they can be violent.”

JYJ’s agency, C-JeS Entertainment, announced, “Regarding the release of additional voice files of JYJ, we think that the articles are just malicious with the intent to harm the group members, not to give information to the public.”

“We decided to take legal action towards the malicious articles. We already asked our lawyers to write up a defamation complaint and it will be accepted today.”

“Since Park Yoo Chun’s father has passed away, the group members are having a hard time. We can not understand why they are acting like this.” JYJ’s legal agents, Sejong, said, “We think that releasing illegally recorded voice files with a persons real name, without consent from the person is clearly defamation and an invasion of their privacy.”
