Trans] 111107 JYJ Ends 13 Country Tour Voyage In Germany..”They Can Do It, Because They’re JYJ”

Group JYJ (Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu) have moved on from Spain to take over Germany.

On the night of 6 November, in the Tempodrom, over 3,000 fans were gathered and cheering loudly for an encore.

The Europeans, who had gathered from Northern European countries such as the Netherlands, Finland and Sweden, from Eastern European countries such as Poland and Russia, as well as from other regions such as France and Greece, sang along with JYJ for two hours with perfect Korean pronunciation and waited for an encore stage while shouting “We love you JYJ!”

JYJ performed a total of 15 songs for the two-hour concert and ended their European tour in success with their concert in Berlin, Germany after becoming the first Korean singers to hold a solo concert in Spain.

The reception they received in Berlin was through the roof. The ticket reservation site’s server crashed as soon as it opened in October and the tickets sold out on the same day. To match this excitement, fans were seen gathering four hours before the concert to stand in line and wait to enter the concert venue.

The concert organizers said, “Before the concert, there were already fans pitching tents and queuing up like they had for the Spain concert. This is a rare sight for a pop singer’s concert in Germany, and there were many rare sights to be seen at this JYJ concert.

Amidst the passionate cheers, JYJ gave an amazing performance. Showcasing their slick dance moves for ‘Empty’ and ‘Ayyy Girl’, JYJ showed off their powerful vocals with ‘In Heaven’ and ‘Get Out’, leaving their European fans deeply moved by their talent.

Before the concert, JYJ said, “We really wanted to come, and finally we have made it to Germany to meet with everyone, we’re really fortunate. The food in Germany is really good, and we like the parks as well.”

Member Kim Junsu also made a special mention, saying, “I’m very happy to be in Germany, the country of Sylvester Levay, the composer of ‘Mozart’ and ‘Elisabeth’ who has always been like a father to me. We are thankful to have received great strength from everybody, and next year, we want to present an even more active JYJ.

After the concert, a portion of the fans could not help but cry, and even stood in front of the concert hall, singing JYJ’s hit songs, showing their unwillingness to leave.

17-year-old Isabelle from Germany said, “Because of JYJ’s music, I’ve grown to like Korea a lot, and am currently studying Korean. I’m really touched that I was able to hear the three of them live.”

Yagoda from Poland said, “I’m really thankful that JYJ could come, and I really want them to know this, and this was an unexpectedly fantastic experience, they must come again!” Ana from Sweden said, “The three members are really cute when they speak German, and I can feel their love for Europe, so I’m really happy. They dance well, sing well, and are too cool! I loved everything (about them)”

JYJ’s European concerts started after their 10 country tour that kicked off in 2011. JYJ’s decision to hold concerts in slightly foreign cities is meaningful, and shows their courage to take up the challenge of getting more people to know about their music.

CEO Baek Chang Joo of C-JeS said, “The Kpop fever has just started to take shape in Europe, but since it’s JYJ, we felt that we could hold a solo concert, albeit a small-scale one. We are really thankful for the unexpected passion and support given by the European fans, and we will definitely want to come back again for the world tour next year.”

With the end of this concert, JYJ have completed their long voyage of 13 cities in 2011. JYJ expressed, “To be able to hold concerts in North America, Asia and Europe is a very meaningful result.  The start of December will be our time to rest, and aside from taking a good break, we plan to focus on writing music, and will continue working hard in preparation for future world tours!

[TRANS] 111102 JYJ’s Concert Organizer Apologizes, “We’re Sorry… JYJ’s Dance Moves Were Too Intense”

[TRANS] 111102 JYJ’s Concert Organizer Apologizes, “We’re Sorry… JYJ’s Dance Moves Were Too Intense”

After the end of JYJ’s Europe Tour in Barcelona concert on the 29th, the concert’s organizer left the reporters with an interesting apology. It was regarding the fact that it was hard to find photos of all three members together in one cut. The only group shots were two photos of the members standing still and singing a ballad and there were no shots of the members dancing together.

The organizer stated, “It seems that the members danced with more intensity than usual. We tried to get more group shots by editing the photos but we couldn’t get a single one. Even the professional photographers who worked with JYJ on their North American tour were taken aback.“

What was so different about the performance that it was almost impossible to get a group shot of JYJ? The members showed fierce determination before the concert began as they repeated that they had decided to start off with a small-scale concert (3,000 seats) to go back to their roots as rookies. True to their word, the members didn’t hold back as they ran around and danced for their fans.

Kim Jaejoong said, “Although this stage is smaller than previous ones, it bears a totally different meaning. In Korea and Japan, we started from small stages, and slowly gained the love of our fans. Therefore, although this European concert stage is small, it still feels like a very good starting point. Instead of creating an overly exaggerated large-scale concert in Europe, beginning with a small-scale stage with the mindset of starting afresh seems like a better idea.”

The concert we watched that day was far from extravagant. There was no thrust stage or LED screens and the fireworks were absent as well. All that was used was the occasional burst of CO2 and the spotlight that shined at the old castle in the distance added to the scenery of the concert.

However, the concert was no shabby event. Even the fans seemed different from those in other concerts as they screamed and shouted to help JYJ’s new beginning in Europe. JYJ gave such an energetic performance that even professional photographers found it hard to get a shot of them on their cameras. Heo In Won, a student who studies abroad in France and who was visiting Spain to watch the concert, stated, “I think this is the first time I’ve seen the members work so hard on their singing and dancing during a performance. The fans were moved by their concert, regardless of the size of the concert venue.“

[Trans] 111031 What Is JYJ’s Secret To Success According To The Admins Of Their Spanish Fanclubs?

[Trans] 111031 What Is JYJ’s Secret To Success According To The Admins Of Their Spanish Fanclubs?

“K-pop is something that can even appeal to the masses who are encountering it for the first time.”

Sara(27) and Laura(24), who are admins of Spanish JYJ fanclubs, stated with confidence that K-pop will become extremely popular all across Europe.

Sara and Laura participated in the meeting that was held at the POBLE ESPANYOL on the 28th and said, “K-pop is a form of content that is becoming more and more popular. Spanish music can get boring at times and we like K-pop because it has many singers who can dance well and sing live at the same time.”

They continued to add, “We really like K-pop, and we’re thankful that JYJ have decided to hold a solo concert in Spain for the first time,” and “We’re so happy to be able to see JYJ up close.”

Through the interview with Sara and Laura, we were able to gauge K-pop’s current position in Spain. Though the K-pop market is still small in Europe, even they could see that it was growing.

Here is the Q&A session with Sara and Laura.

-Please introduce your fanclubs.

▶I’m an admin of a fanclub called Sharing Yoochun (Sara Martinez, Sharing Yoochun). You could say that Sharing Yoochun is a global fanclub and that I’m the admin of the Spain region. We upload photos and videos of JYJ and we get around 5,000 visiters on our site every day. (Sara)

I’m currently the admin of Yongwonhi, sub (Laura Serates, Yongwonhi, sub). We upload and translate JYJ-related material. We’ve been collecting and translating dramas and videos related to TVXQ and JYJ since 2008. Though we’re a Spanish fanclub, a lot of our members are from South America. Around 3,000 people download the material we post. (Laura)

-What is the reason why you like TVXQ or JYJ?

▶I really like K-pop and most of the songs I listen to are K-pop songs. I’ve liked JYJ since they performed as TVXQ. (Sara)

-How did you come across K-pop?

▶In my case, I came across K-pop while watching a Japanese drama. Later on, my friend showed me a video of TVXQ and I immediately became a fan. (Laura)

My friend had me listen to Big Bang’s music and I began to take an interest in K-pop because it’s quite sophisticated like American pop music. I was moved by TVXQ’s ‘Mirotic’ and that’s when I became a fan. (Sara)

-What did you like about TVXQ? Did you like them because of ‘Mirotic’?

▶I think all K-pop singers sing and dance very well. I like TVXQ and though they are currently divided into TVXQ and JYJ, I support both groups. (Sara)

-What is the difference between Korean and Spanish music?

▶Most of the songs on my iPad are K-pop songs. I don’t have any Spanish music on it. The majority of it is rock music and it’s not that great to dance to. All Spanish singers feel the same for me so I don’t have much interest in Spanish music. (Laura)

I used to study music. Spanish music these days is missing something. When I first came across K-pop, it felt very similar to American pop, and the more you listen to it, the more it appeals to you. (Sara)

-Does language or age ever hinder any of the fans from enjoying K-pop?

▶The fans are all of a different age. The youngest are thirteen years old while most are usually in their thirties. I’m not from Barcelona, I’m from Galicia. In Galicia, there aren’t that many people who are interested in Korea, but when the fans do get together every once in a while, we watch dramas together or listen to music. (Laura)

-Who are the most popular Korean singers in Barcelona?

▶TVXQ(JYJ), Rain, Super Junior.

-Why is it K-pop and not J-pop?

▶The trend of J-pop has already come and gone. J-pop music is similar to European music and it has no character. K-pop is always new and we like it because there are so many good songs to dance to. I believe that K-pop is a good form of content that can even appeal to the masses who are encountering it for the first time. (Laura)

-What are the future possibilities for K-pop?

▶K-pop has become popular, especially amongst the younger generation, because it has a wide variety of characters who are fun and easily approachable. We believe that people in other age groups will also find the music appealing. K-pop’s become more approachable through Youtube, so we believe it will continue to grow and evolve.

[Trans] 111105 JYJ Kim Junsu : “I’m Surprised And Thankful That Many Fans In Berlin Know Us”

[Trans] 111105 JYJ Kim Junsu : “I’m Surprised And Thankful That Many Fans In Berlin Know Us”

JYJ member Kim Junsu expressed his feelings about holding solo concerts in Europe.

On the afternoon of the 5th of November, a day before JYJ’s concert in Berlin, Germany, Kim Junsu spoke to YTN TV’s “Newswide” via a live telephone broadcast and said, “Because we’ve already performed once in Barcelona, the nervousness and excitement we felt then has carried through (to our Berlin concert).”

When asked if he “felt any hints of JYJ’s popularity in the country,” Kim Junsu replied, “Although I wasn’t able to go sightseeing a lot, I did manage to walk around a little. I was very surprised and thankful to see our posters up around the city and to have more people recognize me than I’d expected. This makes us want to work harder and present an even better side of ourselves to everyone.”

He also added, “The reaction we received in Spain was as passionate as the country itself. I believe it was more of ‘those fans drawing forth a greater strength from us than we thought we had ‘ than a product of us working really hard.

JYJ, who completed their solo concert in Barcelona’s Palau Sant Jordi on the 29th of October, will be holding their next concert in Berlin’s Tempodrom on the 6th of November.
