Dear Jaejoong,
You are the only person I know who could manage to garner sympathy for your lonely Christmas Day, give us a beautiful glimpse of your home’s interior, and show us that adorable collection of elephants–all in the same post. However, with the world and our lives being so busy, you really got a precious gift–time to yourself.
Trouble is–most young people do not see time spent with yourself as a gift because the concentration is on how lonely it is, and you are desiring someone to help you to enjoy that time. That is understandable, but look at it this way. When you are by yourself you get to command the ship. You get to choose your own pursuits, unimpeded by other’s ideas of how to spend the day. You can get up or lie in bed; walk around in a torn T-shirt and a pair of sweats or dress to the nines and hold your own private fashion show. You can choose to read a good book or cook yourself a special meal.
O.K. Why am I waxing eloquent on this? I guess it is because when you are constantly around other people (and I am) having some time to yourself can prove to be a wonderful change. It doesn’t negate the love in you for other’s, it simply points out that occasionally we must also learn to love and take time for ourselves.
Someday you will have that special someone by your side, and thoughts of being alone on Christmas will be in the past. The family will grow and your committments to others will grow and one day you will find yourself feeling guilty because you desire some alone time. Don’t go there, it is as natural as breathing to desire to have time to be yourself. Yet, I will concede,Jaejoong. It is also natural to desire company on such a momentous day as Christmas. Seek it out, as you did–you knew that we were there, and that you weren’t truly alone.

Park Yoochun recently became the model for a new product launched by a famous food brand, with his unique smile that catches the hearts of women, coupled with his humming along to the product name “Gismyun,” netizens who watched the ad said “You can’t help but want to buy it and eat it,” “Park Yoochun looks too sweet, let’s go buy ramyun” and other responses.
Aside from this, Park Yoochun has also appeared in an ad for a famous computer game, and is featured together with members Kim Jaejoong and Kim Junsu in a pharmaceutical ad, getting involved in various types of ads, proving that he is gaining a reasonable amount of attention in the advertising industry.
And the reason why Park Yoochun has been chosen for more solo ads in comparison to his fellow members, should be because of the healthy, gentle image which he possesses. A representative from a large advertising firm said, “Park Yoochun is not considered as a star with exceptional looks, but one that possesses a natural and healthy image. And as a member of JYJ, he has a certain level of popularity, and is an ideal spokesperson appealing to consumers in their teens and 20s.”
Another person from the advertising industry said, “After becoming active as an actor, he has gained a certain amount of recognition among not only the younger age groups, but in the middle to older age groups as well. Currently, there are quite a number of advertisers that wish for Park Yoochun to endorse their products, and although I can’t give an exact number on how many cases, there are definitely a large number of advertisement requests asking for him.”
Following the current CF King Lee Seung Gi, who also has a warm, healthy image which earned him the the label of “Mother’s Friend’s Son,” Park Yoochun is currently receiving a lot of attention. Typhoon Washi swept across the southern Philippines this weekend, washing away whole villages and killing 927 people, according to the latest estimates.

In a statement Monday, President Obama expressed condolences for “the tremendous loss of life and devastation” caused by flooding from the typhoon and said the United States stands ready to provide humanitarian assistance and recovery help.
Just last week, my colleague Elizabeth Flock asked whether 2011 was the year of natural disasters, with 12 disasters causing $1 billion or more in damage each in the United States alone, plus the Japanese earthquake, the Thailand flooding and the drought in Africa, among others.
The typhoon in the Philippines looks to enter the inauspicious list after the northern coast of the southern island of Mindanao was pounded for 12 hours with nonstop rainfall Friday. Of the 580 people who died in one city, Cagayan de Oro, the majority were women and children. The Associated Press reports: “About 143,000 people were affected in 13 southern and central provinces, including 45,000 who fled to evacuation centers. About 7,000 houses were swept away, destroyed or damaged, the Office of Civil Defense said.”
“The suffering here is unspeakable,” Philippine Red Cross Chairman Richard J. Gordon told Bloomberg News from Iligan City, where he is helping oversee relief operations. “The government should act here very fast. The people have already suffered, and they’re making them suffer more.”

A photo of JYJ member Park Yoochun taken while shooting a CF has attracted a lot of attention.

On 12 December, a food product company commercial PD tweeted the above together with a close-up shot of Park Yoochun, attracting the attention of the fans. Following that, a person who is believed to manage the commercial shoot tweeted, praising Park Yoochun for his professionalism, a proof of his character.
“He worked hard for the shoot. It was supposed to be completed in 8 hours, but due to various issues, took over 11 hours to shoot before Park Yoochun’s portion was complete~ We started at 10am and ended at 11pm~ It was really cold that day, and to only be wearing one layer of clothing in the south is really tough, but he still managed to show us a good acting performance.”
The fans are also cheering for Park Yoochun, who managed to showcase his great acting skills despite shooting in cold weather. The CF can currently be seen on Youtube.
