[NEWS] JYJ ‘World AIDS Day’ Support Message; 600,000 Followers “Explosive Response”

JYJ are goodwill ambassadors for UNAIDS, which is under the jurisdiction of the United Nations, and on 1 December, in lieu of ‘World AIDS Day’, they published a relay of messages via their own Twitter accounts.

-omitted tweet messages-

There has been hot response towards JYJ’s Twitter statements. With more than 600,000 Twitter followers worldwide, the members’ messages were translated into many languages. Also, JYJ’s true popularity could be felt as the traffic to the UNAIDS homepage escalated drastically.

JYJ said, “As we do activities as ambassadors for UNAIDS, reducing the stigma towards AIDS is the most important part of our message. There needs to be a change in global awareness regarding AIDS and it needs to be known that AIDS is an illness that often can become better under proper treatment. In view of the 30th anniversary of ‘World AIDS Day’, we would like to take this opportunity to reduce the prejudiced views against HIV patients.”

Beth Magne, Manager, UNAIDS Asia Pacific, expressed her amazement, “Having been appointed the UNAIDS goodwill ambassadors, they have been a great help towards the progress of our AIDS campaign. Ever since their appointment as ambassadors for the Twitter campaign ‘Love Always’, our followers have increased by almost three-fold and it has since exceeded 40,000 people as fans around the world participate in the UNAIDS campaign.”

She continued, “We were surprised by the extraordinary results. AIDS can be a slightly difficult and heavy topic but we were able to receive increased empathy and response through SNS platforms and for that we are thankful towards JYJ.”

On the other hand, as the year comes to a close, JYJ also took the initiative to participate in a pictorial photoshoot for the underprivileged as well as Naver’s Happy Bean campaign which supports low income children.

111202 [RE-POST] [MINI PROJECT] Support The Mango Tree Project And Leave A Message For JYJ

[RE-POST] [MINI PROJECT] Support The Mango Tree Project And Leave A Message For JYJ

Herroooooooo

I haven’t posted here in a while and it makes me feel kinda guilty .__.
But I’ll probably start posting again in the next week so \o/

Anywho, the reason I’m making this post is because t’is the season of giving!
Yes ladies and gentlemen, Christmas is just around the corner (okay… more like 25 days away) and the spirit of sharing has returned.

As you all know, JYJ, along with Yoohwan and Ji Hyo, are participating in World Vision’s Mango Tree Project.

It aims to plant 20,000 mango trees in Sudan as a sustainable source of income for those who have been afflicted by the internal conflict. Each tree costs 10,000 KRW to plant, which means JYJ are aiming to collect 200 million KRW. Personally, I think this is an absolutely spectacular charity project, which is why I’ve set up this mini project.

I’m sure some of you have visited the C-JeS mini-homepage thing for the Mango Tree Project, clicked on the little link that said “click here” and…. ended up on the Korean site of World Vision (as seen here)… Awkward sauce yo .__.

You need a Korean registration number to make the donation, which is only given to Korean citizens (more awkward…). This was why my fellow ninja master Rara had to ask me if I could help her out and I said, ‘Hey, why not?’

So, in light of it being the happiest season of the year, I’ll be using my registration number to make a collective donation from anyone who would like to join in.

Here’s some basic info for the mini-project:

Date: December 1st ~ December 10th 11:59pm KST
Amount: As much or as little as you would like
Paypal account: TVXQmelodies@gmail.com

On the 5th, 8th and 11th (after all donations have been collected) I’ll post a spreadsheet with first names, amount donated and ‘message received’ (for the message to JYJ)

All other costs that come from transferring the money from my Paypal account to my actual bank account will be paid for by me, but whatever costs may come from donating to my Paypal account must to paid for by you guys (I don’t even know if there are any costs for this D:) and I’ll be contributing an extra 30,000 KRW (one tree per member )

After your donation has been made, send me an e-mail to TVXQmelodies@gmail.com with the following information

Name:
Country:
Amount donated:
Message to JYJ: (Maximum 5 lines guys. I know you all have a lot to say, but I can’t be translating paragraphs .__.)

On the day the donation is made, I’ll post a confirmation screencap of the donation, as well as the money withdrawn from my bank account as well as the e-mail that I’ll be sending to both C-JeS and World Vision.

So whether you’re a JYJ fan, TVXQ fan or someone who just wants to help out with a great cause, join in and spread the holiday cheer!

Mucho loves,
Jee

[TRANS] 111123 JYJ Donate 200 Million Won To World Vision, “We Want To Help Those In Need In Thailand

[TRANS] 111123 JYJ Donate 200 Million Won To World Vision, “We Want To Help Those In Need In Thailand

JYJ (Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu) donated 200 million Won to World Vision, the total amount the organization was hoping to collect for their second round of aid for those suffering in Thailand due to the recent floods.

Soon after the worst flood in Thailand’s history hit the nation, JYJ posted a video on their official homepage and expressed their sorrow as they stated, “We worry about the safety of our fans. Also, as there are many staff members who we’ve worked with in Thailand, we hope everyone is able to find stability in their lives as soon as possible.”

Now, JYJ have decided to donate 200 million Won to World Vision, the total amount the organization was hoping to collect for their second round of aid which will help with restoration, as well as provide daily necessities, sanitation, education and psychotherapy for children.

The donation will be used to provide necessities such as meals, emergency provisions, mosquito nets, blankets, water filters, drinking water and books.

JYJ stated, “We learned a lot from seeing just how much help our donation in Japan helped those who were mentally and physically strained from the earthquake and its aftermath. We heard that the situation in Thailand is severe and with the nation submerged in water, the aftermath and damage was quite extensive. As we receive so much love from Thailand, we decided that we had to do whatever we could to help. We hope the Korean community in Thailand and our Thai fans stay strong and find stability in their lives as soon as possible.”

Meanwhile, JYJ are also working on a child sponsorship program with Song Ji Hyo and Park Yoohwan. On the 25th, with Christmas only a month away, C-JeS will be releasing a video in Korea, English and Japanese to promote the ‘Mango Tree Project’, which aims to plant 20,000 mango trees of hope in Africa.
