The popular songwriter Bruce “Automatic” praised JYJ’s Junsu.
On August 22, Bruce “Automatic” Vanderveer, the producer of Junsu’s new single in English, “Uncommitted,” tweeted, “Junsu reminds me of Michael Jackson. Incredible and natural ability like Michael had. Junsu is a natural, better than most artists. Junsu’s got an incredible voice. He really is ready for America!”
Bruce “Automatic” Vanderveer is a Sony Music songwriter, who has worked with Christina Aguilera, The Wanted, and Leona Lewis this year.
Junsu will finish his Asian tour in Hong Kong on August 26 and will join JYJ’s world tour that makes stops in the U.S., Mexico, and Brazil.

Tropical Storm Isaac Takes Aim at Puerto Rico, Threatens Haiti
TODAY’s Al Roker tracks Tropical Storms Isaac’s current path as it takes aim at Puerto Rico and the eastern Caribbean.
Updated at 8:12 a.m. ET: Tropical Storm Isaac brought rain and gusty winds to Puerto Rico and the eastern Caribbean Islands and was expected to gradually strengthen as it moved west through the northeastern Caribbean on Thursday.
Forecasters said it was too soon to gauge Isaac’s potential impact on Tampa on Florida’s Gulf Coast, where the Republican National Convention is to run from Monday through Thursday.

Some computer models showed Isaac shifting slightly to the west and eventually moving parallel to Florida’s western coastline. Others forecast the storm to make landfall in South Florida and then move inland.
More than a foot of rainfall, and potentially as much as 20 inches in some places, was possible on the island of Hispaniola, home to Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Life-threatening flash floods and mudslides could result from that amount of rain.
Residents and visitors of the northern Caribbean, Yucatan Peninsula, southeastern United States and the central/eastern Gulf Coast should watch the progress of Isaac closely over the next week or more, weather.com reported.
Numerous watches and warnings have been issued, including a hurricane warning for Haiti and the south coast of the Dominican Republic. Puerto Rico was under a tropical storm warning, and it was expected to see its greatest impacts from Isaac on Thursday.

On Thursday, Isaac is expected to pass just south of Puerto Rico. As the storm approached, Puerto Rico Governor Luis Fortuno declared a state of emergency, canceled classes, closed government agencies and activated the National Guard.
The government also froze prices on basic necessities such as food, batteries and other supplies and prepared emergency shelters at schools and other facilities.
Despite Tropical Storm Isaac’s threatening winds and rains ahead of the GOP convention in Florida, Mitt Romney and running mate Paul Ryan are taking aim at President Obama and his handling of the economy. NBC’s Peter Alexander reports.
Isaac was projected to weaken to a tropical storm over Haiti and then pass over Cuba before strengthening into a hurricane in the Florida Straits between Cuba and Florida. Its exact path after that remained uncertain.
Heavy rainfall, flooding and mudslides will be threats in all of the northern Caribbean islands regardless of how strong the system becomes, weather.com reported.
Isaac may also threaten U.S. energy interests in the Gulf of Mexico, weather experts said. It was centered about 265 miles southeast of San Juan, Puerto Rico, early on Thursday, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said. Isaac had top sustained winds of 45 miles per hour.

At the Guantanamo Bay U.S. Naval Base in southeast Cuba on Wednesday, authorities said Isaac forced the postponement of pretrial hearings that were to begin on Thursday for five prisoners accused of plotting the September 11 attacks.
The U.S. military was preparing flights to evacuate the base of lawyers, paralegals, interpreters, journalists, rights monitors and family members of 9/11 victims who had traveled there for the hearings.

Lixion Avila, a senior hurricane specialist at the hurricane center, suggested it would be foolish for anyone to think Tampa — where Republicans will nominate Mitt Romney as their presidential candidate — was out of harm’s way.
“I put the odds of an evacuation occurring during the convention in the current situation at 3 percent,” Masters said in his blog on the weatherunderground.com website.

Orange juice prices rise
Florida has not been hit by a major hurricane since 2005 and forecasts showed Isaac was not expected to strengthen beyond a weak Category 1, with top sustained wind speeds of about 80 mph.
The threat to Florida triggered a nearly 6 percent jump in orange juice prices on Wednesday as they surged to a six-week high in trading in New York.
Florida produces more than 75 percent of the U.S. orange crop and accounts for about 40 percent of the world’s orange juice supply.
Lurking behind Isaac, the hurricane center said another tropical depression formed over the eastern tropical Atlantic on Wednesday.
Located about 1,045 miles west of the Cape Verde Islands, it was packing winds of 35 mph and was expected to become a tropical storm on Thursday. Forecasts predicted it will eventually veer toward the open Atlantic and away from the Caribbean.

[NEWS] 120818 JYJ Fans Donate For Flood Victims In The Philippines

MANILA, Philippines – Being a fangirl is not just about supporting your idol; it’s also about helping people in times of need. This is what fans from different countries of Korean boy band JYJ aimed to show when they responded to a call to help victims of severe flooding in the Philippines, which left 109 people dead and affected 4.1 million people.
JYJ Philippines, the local fan club of boy band, launched and organized the “JYJ Reach: JYJ Philippines Flood Relief Charity Project” to help Filipinos.
“The project’s purpose is to help our brothers and sisters who were affected by the flood in the Philippines,” said JYJ Philippines.
The heavy rains in the Philippines started last August 6 brought about by the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”
As of August 16, the Philippines’ National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said 924,948 families in 36 cities in 17 provinces including the National Capital Region were affected by the flooding.
JYJ, composed of Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu, is one of the most popular Korean groups.
When JYJ Philippines called out for people to donate to the worthy project, fans from different countries responded.
As of August 17, the “JYJ Reach: JYJ Philippines Flood Relief Charity Project” has collected P55,198.58.
“The response of the fans to project is overwhelming. We didn’t expect that even the International fans would give their support. But then it’s not surprising anymore because JYJ Families around the world are always supportive of each other’s fan projects,” JYJ Philippines told Bulletin Entertainment.
The donations came from fans in the US, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Canada, Turkey, Hong Kong and the Philippines.
“Honestly, we didn’t set any target as far as the total amount of donations is concerned. When we launched the project, we thought, any amount would do just as long as we’re able to help our brothers and sisters in need. The turnout really surprised us because in three days time we were able to collect more or less P27,000. And the tentative total we have now is PhP 55,000. So, it was beyond our expectation,” JYJ Philippines added.
In the first phase of JYJ Reach, JYJ Philippines brought ready-to-eat food and medicine. Last August 12, the admins of JYJ Philippines went to the Philippine Red Cross to donate the goods.
Next week, JYJ Philippines will donate to ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya and World Vision for the second phase of JYJ Reach.
“We are inspired by our idols Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu and we will continue to do charity projects in the future,” JYJ Philippines said.

JYJ’s Kim Jun Su recently ranked first in China with his first English solo video.
Kim released his English single “Uncommitted” on August 17 and ranked first on Yin Yue Tai, the biggest Chinese music video chart.
The music video for the song received over 3.28 million hits and ranked first as soon as it was released. The agency, C-JeS Entertainment, said, “It’s hard to access YouTube site in China so the Yin Yue Tai chart proves Kim’s popularity. He received such a result without promoting himself in China.”
It has been three months since he released his solo EP Tarantallegra in May. The EP, however, ranked seventh and proved its high popularity.
Kim’s first EP set a new record in sales as a solo on the Gaon chart and he proved his global popularity by ranking high in China, the United States, Germany, and Chile. The English single “Uncommitted” also ranked first on the Japanese iTunes chart.
Kim will start touring the world with a concert in New York on August 30. Then he will meet his nationwide fans in Asia, North and South Americas, and Europe.

JYJ‘s Yoochun and actress Son Ye Jin have been revealed to be in discussion for the leading roles in MBC‘s new drama, ‘I Miss You‘.
On August 20th, C-JeS Entertainment stated, “We have received a casting offer from MBC’s ‘I Miss You’, but we are still discussing whether or not Yoochun will take the role.”
Son Ye Jin’s agency showed a similar response, with representatives stating, “We have yet to make a decision on the offer.”
‘I Miss You’ is described to be a traditional melo-drama about a man and a woman who both try to hide the pain of the memories of their first love. Produced by PD Lee Jae Dong and writer Moon Hee Jung, the drama will hit the smallscreen this October.

JYJ‘s Yoochun commented on his relationship with ‘Rooftop Prince‘ costar Han Ji Min.
On the August 18th episode of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Entertainment Relay‘, the crew interviewed Han Ji Min on the set of an endorsement shoot. During the ‘Star on Air’ corner of the show, the 10-year-veteran actress was shown a video of responses from the actors who’ve played opposite her.
When the reporter asked how she thought Yoochun had answered, Han Ji Min responded, “That I eat a lot? Or that I’m like a neighborhood nuna he’s known for 10 years?” The reporter then revealed, “Yoochun said, ‘[She’s the best in her field]. [She’s the best to get to know]. I only knew her for 4 months, but I feel like she’s a friend I’ve known for 10 years.’”
