[TRANS] 130627 JYJ, Large-scale Fan Event “Membership Week” Finally Opens! Art Pieces Made By Members On Display
JYJ has opened their large-scale fan meeting event, the “2013 JYJ Membership Week”, which has the purpose of allowing the fans to have fun (along with the members), and costs over 3 billion won to produce.
JYJ will be holding the “2013 JYJ Membership Week” from 27 to 30 June at SETEC in the Gangnam district of Seoul, and over 15,000 people are expected to participate. The special point about the membership week this time, is that the members have taken on a much larger participative role. Last year, JYJ created the concepts for the various corners with the aid of state-of-the-art technology, but this year, the exhibition space will be filled with art pieces done by the members, as well as photographs.
The exhibition venue of the membership week this time is approximately 3000 square metres, and comprises 3 different halls. The first hall will be used for the fan meeting, the second hall will be a “Media Facade Square”, and the third hall has been planned as JYJ’s art gallery and concert hall. In particular, the third hall houses art pieces with sensitivity, created by the members of JYJ themselves. After the exhibition ends, these pieces will be sold through an auction, and the proceeds donated.
There are also many areas where fans can participate. On one side of the exhibition hall is a large mural formed by puzzle pieces. Postcards are also prepared for fans to write letters to the JYJ members. At the exit of the exhibition hall, there is also an interesting corner where fans can stick stickers to vote for the member whose art piece they like the most.
The 2nd Membership week this time has been talked about as it takes on a new concept of fanservice from the heart, by removing the commercial aspect of the event. JYJ’s representatives see this as an investment, rather than focusing on revenue generation, and have planned a budget of 3 billion won this year, following the 3.7 billion won from last year.
JYJ’s representatives said, “SETEC is a top-notch exhibition hall. It is expected that 3 billion won will be required to cover the costs of the fanmeeting, including the fees to assist Japanese members who are visiting Korea.”
CEO Baek Chang Joo said, “The commercial aspect has been excluded from the JYJ Membership Week, and it is a plan focused solely on creating a platform for the artistes and their fans to interact. With this being the second time we are holding the Membership Week, we worked on the basis of this being a regular event rather than a one-off event right from the planning stage. The main goal is for JYJ and their fans to interact. We hope that it will be an event where many fans can create memories with JYJ, and where JYJ is able to express their gratitude and love to their fans.”
The JYJ members will be holding fanmeetings over two days, 29 and 30 June, and spending time with fans from Korea and Japan. It is planned for them to meet the Japanese fans on 29 June, and the Korean fans on 30 June. Registration was open to Korean and Japanese fans holding JYJ Membership from C-Jes Entertainment.
On 27 June, JYJ’s Junsu, who met with the media before the opening of the Membership Week, said, “I think that we would be able to have a special time with our fans, as much as our members have drawn and produced our own pieces.”
Yoochun expressed his hopes (for the event), “After looking around the exhibition hall, I am personally very satisfied. I am certain that the fans will be able to share this little happiness. I hope this event can continue in future.”
Jaejoong was unable to attend the opening ceremony due to his performances in Yokohama for the grand finale of his solo Asia Tour, but he is scheduled to attend the fanmeetings on 29 and 30 June.

[TRANS] 130627 Jaejoong’s Yokohama Arena Performance Draws To A Close
Jaejoong ended his 5-month long Asia Tour together with over 45,000 Japanese fans.
From 24 to 26 June, Jaejoong held his “Kim Jaejoong Grand Finale Live Concert and Fanmeeting” at the Yokohama Arena, meeting with over 45,000 fans.
For Jaejoong’s concert this time, as soon as the ticket sales begun, the number of ticket applications received exceeded (the number of tickets available) by 4 times, and tickets were completely sold out. In response to requests from fans, standing seats and restricted view seats were added, and sold out completely as well, demonstrating Jaejoong’s high popularity.
During the first part, the fan meeting segment, Jaejoong spent an enjoyable time with the audience that filled the venue over the 3 days. During the second part, the concert segment, aside from singing songs from his first album, Jaejoong also touched the fans by singing popular Japanese songs such as “Precious”, “Crescent Moon” and “Glamorous Sky”.
During the second segment, when Jaejoong transformed into a rocker and appeared together with the live bands, the fans cheered loudly.
Jaejoong opened the mini-concert with “Mine”, the title track from his first solo mini-album, and sang all-live covers of popular Japanese songs including “Moonlight” and “The Last Rain” aside from the songs previously revealed through the setlist.
When Jaejoong began singing Ayaka’s “Crescent Moon”, the fans did a little event for Jaejoong by taking out their respective green lightsticks. And during B’z’s “Ultra Soul”, Jaejoong heated up the atmosphere of the concert as he and his fans took turns singing verses.
In response to the endless calls from fans for an encore, Jaejoong sang Nakashima Mika’s “Glamorous Sky”, presenting an explosive live stage right up to the last song, to which fans also gave their passionate support right up till the end.
Even after Jaejoong left the stage following the encore stage the fans continued calling out “Kim Jaejoong” for some time. Jaejoong then went back out on stage without a mike, shouting his thanks to the fans. Many fans were seen tearing up and not leaving the venue.
During the last performance yesterday (Wednesday), Jaejoong expressed his feelings about the conclusion of the Asia Tour, “I really wanted to meet everyone. Thank you for coming all this way. I would be great if we could meet again. I love you.”
On another note, following the release of his first solo album in January, Jaejoong began his Asia Tour through Korea, Thailand, China (Shanghai, Nanjing), Hong Kong, Taiwan, and finally Japan, and met with over 83,000 fans in a total of 7 cities.

[TRANS] 130618 Tohoshinki, Concludes 5-dome Tour Successfully… “Myriad Of Emotions At The Tokyo Dome”
With their final concert at Tokyo Dome, group Tohoshinki’s 5-dome tour concluded as a huge success, the first for any Korean singer.
Tohoshinki began their 5-dome live tour “Tohoshinki LIVE TOUR 2013 ~TIME~” with the first show at the Saitama Super Arena on 27 April, then went on to tour Sapporo Dome, Nagoya Dome, Fukuoka Yahoo! Japan Dome, Kyocera Dome Osaka, and Tokyo Dome.
A total of 16 concerts were held in this tour, attracting an audience of over 700,000, proving their high popularity.
To wrap up the 5-dome tour, finale concerts were held over 3 days, from 15 to 17 June, at the Tokyo Dome. Tohoshinki sang a total of 28 songs over 3 hours, charming the audience with a concert that brought together their outstanding singing abilities, powerful performance, and diverse stage production effects.
In particular, the audience also prepared a special event during the last day of the concerts in Tokyo Dome on 17 June. When the performance for “In Our Time” began, the audience switched their red lightsticks, which represent Tohoshinki, to pastel blue ones instead. Among the blue lights, the title of the tour, “Time”, was displayed in red. The members are said to have been touched.
After the concert, Yunho expressed his thoughts, “Thanks to the many people who have supported us, we’ve been able to fulfill our dream of having a 5-dome tour. It still seems like a dream, and we will work even harder from now on with the mindset that this is just the beginning.”
Changmin said, “10 years ago, I did not think it would be possible for us to hold a 5-dome tour. But I’m really happy that this dream has come true, and I would like to share this important dream-like moment with our fans.”
Following their 5-dome tour, Tohoshinki will be holding their “LIVE TOUR 2013 ~TIME~ FINAL in NISSAN STADIUM” at the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama over 2 days, 17 and 18 August. This will be the finale of their Japan live tour. Through the tour this time, it is expected that a total of 850,000 audiences would have been attracted, and this is expected to set a record for highest number of audiences for any Korean singer.
