[NEWS] JYJ Junsu Passionately Sang On Dragon Boat Festival, Acted Cutely And Teased Taiwanese Girls

[NEWS] JYJ Junsu Passionately Sang On Dragon Boat Festival, Acted Cutely And Teased Taiwanese Girls

South Korean group JYJ member Kim Junsu released his solo album ‘Tarantallegra’ last month and yesterday on Dragon Boat Festival, he held his concert ‘XIA 1st Asian Tour In Taiwan’ for the first time at National Taipei University’s gymnasium. Fans sent him rice dumplings as a (dragon boat festival’s) tradition for him to replenish his energy. Kim Junsu did not let his fans down either. He whined to the fans and acted cutely, making his fans screaming non stop!

Kim Junsu appeared on stage with a blue suit singing his own composition ‘Breath’, and then greeted his fans, “How’s everyone? I am XIA. It’s been so long. I missed you all.” He then followed by Jaejoong’s ballad composition ‘No Gain’ and danced closely with the female dancers. During the performance of ‘Lullaby’, the female dancer were lying on his lap and then the two had a rousing dance. During the dance number ‘Tarantallegra’, he descended slowly from a 3m high stage.

Kim Junsu changed a total of 6 outfits, together with 8 dancers, singing a total of 17 songs for 2 hours. 11 new songs from his new album were sung. Upon singing ‘I Hate Love’, he said,” I spent a lot of effort finishing this song. I hope everyone will like it.” Additionally he sang ‘Scent of a Woman’ OST ‘You Are So Beautiful’, ‘Last Dance’ from musical ‘Elisabeth’ etc and concluded the concert with ‘Fallen Leaves’. After he finished his encore with ‘Mission’, ‘Dew Tree’ and ‘Fallen Leaves’, he teared up and thanked Taiwanese fans’ passionate support.

Kim Junsu also fulfilled the three wishes fans have prepared, including transforming into a kitty-like cuteness, and angel pose. Before Kim Junsu did all these actions, he would shyly giggled and slowly retreat backwards while fans were screaming ‘So cute!’ at him. His ex-Miss Korea mother and father were seated in the audience, enjoying his concert.

Last year, he came with his group and had a concert at Taipei Dome. This time he came alone and yet his popularity remains. Even though there were an extra of 200 tickets sold, the 3800 tickets were sold out completely, a total of 10.64 million TWD. In his Asia tour, the ticket price of Taiwan’s stop was the nearest to Korea’s and the production fee was a high 4.5 million TWD. The day before after his press conference, Kim Junsu went nearby his hotel and bought a bag to treat himself and he left Taiwan today. In view of Dragon Boat Festival, his fans also sent him 100 sets of fan support goods which includes longevity buns, perfume sachets, rice dumplings and fruits etc.

[NEWS] JYJ Donates 90 Tons of Rice From Global Fans to Korean Non-Profit Organization

[NEWS] JYJ Donates 90 Tons of Rice from Global Fans to Korean Non-Profit Organization

In a warm gesture to help the community, the young men of JYJ were able to donate nearly 90 tons of rice to the Korean non-profit organization Dreame with the help of fans around the globe.

On June 22nd, the organization announced that Jaejoong, Yoochun & Junsu had donated 23 tons of rice, which had been distributed to six organizations across the country earlier in the week at the request of JYJ’s agency, C-JeS Entertaiment.

According to a Dreame representative, domestic and foreign fans of JYJ sent roughly 64 tons of rice wreathes to support the musical trio’s cause. 49 tons of the rice were directly delivered to those in need, while 19 tons were saved in the organization’s inventory for future distribution.

Fans of JYJ sent rice-wreathes to various events, including JYJ’s showcases, concerts, fanmeets, Junsu’s musicals (‘Tears of Heaven’, ‘Mozart’, ‘Elizabeth’), Yoochun’s drama filming events (‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’, ‘Miss Ripley’, ‘Rooftop Prince’), and Jaejoong’s drama filming events (‘Protect the Boss’, ‘Dr Jin’). Furthermore, fans also donated wreathes at the funeral for Yoochun’s father back in March as a sign of condolences.

Some of the places that received donations included the St Paul and Anne House, the council of Yangpyeonggun (which then delivered the rice to 500 homes), an office for the Community Chest of Korea in Busan, the Sancta Familia House in Gapyeong, and a center that helped children who attended school without lunch meals.

It’s certainly admirable and inspiring to see idols and fans banding together to do so much good to help the community, especially knowing that this isn’t the first time that JYJ & its legion of fans have donated to charities.

The Joy and Pain of Gardening…by Chaelwest

The Joy and Pain of Gardening

There is this crazy urge that I get each Spring when the first crocuses peek out of bed, and the daffodils put on their bonnets–it is called, in my vernacular, time to dig. Whether it is digging into the black dirt with my toes, or grabbing a shovel and digging holes, or using a tiller to turn the soil over for planting–It truly doesn’t matter because the urge is simply to dig-dig-dig.

Along with this urge comes a need to plant baby flowers and vegetables in the hope of watching them grow into fruit producers and bloomers of the garden variety. Before this can be accomplished, however, there are many steps toward this luxurious goal. No pain no gain.

As I am no longer in the ‘bloom’ of youth, each year it becomes harder and harder to perform the gardening tasks necessary to say that I have had a wonderful, productive season.  I used to be able to kneel and pat those little suckers right into place with no aching aftereffects, but now Mr. Arthur shows up almost immediately after I have patted the last little plant and put them to bed. Ibuprofen to the rescue!!! I guess if I weren”t so driven I would simply let the garden do the natural thing. It would overgrow itself quickly and what a tangled mess I would have.

Since it is human to want to control everything and everybody around you, lest there be any surprises, I struggle year after year to reach the same gardening goals of  twenty years ago. I want little pansies to smile at me while giant sunflowers tower over the fence and protect the borders. I long to see Jack command his pulpit while begonias beguile me with their constant beauty and variety. The shrubs and bushes offer summer glamour while fruit trees, maples, and oak offer bountiful shade.

I am a sensory person. I enjoy textures and myriad colors around me. Nothing is more sensory than touching the fleshy petal of a Day Lily or an Iris. The beauty that is the rose family is absolutely breathtaking–domestic or wild. The variety of colors  is mind-boggling–giving me a glimpse into the rainbows of Heaven. Will there be gardens there to plant and explore?

There is great joy in watching the tomatoes grow and ripen on the vine. Cucumber’s yellow flowers team with the golden orange of the melon flowers. Such a lovely scene. The greens of the foliage form a wonderful contrast to the bursts of color that speak of fruit to come.

My garden always makes me think of the responsibility of parenting. The little seeds that we are given to water and nourish grow quickly. If we give them good food then we will yield a plenteous harvest with strong seed toward the next generation. Will it be easy? No. Just as the garden in my yard takes careful tending in order to grow–so do my children. My difficulty is that I am like ‘The Old Lady Who lived In A Shoe’– I have so many children in my heart that I don’t know what to do. At home and abroad, they take careful tending each day. An earnest prayer here and some encouragement there–a shake of the head when I see them making some of the same mistakes that I made in my own youth; panic when I see that they are going to follow their own chosen path making wise or unwise choices along the journey and disregarding my loving advice.

I will continue to tend my gardens and the mixed bed of joy and sorrow will be mine to lie upon. Prayerfully, hopefully, the flowers of my heart will someday bloom with beauty and wisdom. I will then hold them close and kiss the dew from their faces.
