Captain CoCo and The Bubble Incident Chapter One: First Engagement

Captain CoCo stares at the ship’s holographic navigation unit while getting dizzy from trying to isolate Planet Ceremus23A from the  millions of stars on the hologrid of the ISP Grande Pollo {Big Chicken}. The captain rests his head in his hands, rubbing his temples in an attempt to relieve the building pressure. Just out of dock, and hailed as the greatest, most advanced starship in the fleet of the Interstellar Peacekeeping Force, the Grande Pollo is on her maiden voyage to Ceremus23A, a hotbed of revolutionary passions.

According to reliable sources, Ceremus23A is in the midst of a soapy civil uprising caused by three opposing factions on the planet. The Strawberry Bubble and the Green Apple Factions have been competing and dousing each other with their squirt guns for several generations. Rumor has it that there are millions of Anti-Bubble rebels hiding in the hills and that an urgent call has been sent to the headquarters of the Interstellar Peacekeeping Force [To be known as the ISP Force from this moment on].

Unbeknownst to Captain CoCo, as his ship is speeding toward the planet another starship of equal power and splendor is racing to intercept them. Armed and dangerous, and the pride of Ceremus23A’s Strawberry Bubble Faction, the undetected ship contains eighty-eight thousand pounds of gaseous methane emissions as a propellant agent. In addition, it is carrying a cargo of seventy-seven million bio-gallons of strawberry bubble bath. This is not your ordinary, chemically induced strawberry bubble bath of the earth-like variety. A special formula of pure, organic strawberry essense and super concentrated soapy agents, it is the cream of the crop of Ceremus23A’s intergalatically acclaimed soap industry. One drop is said to be powerful enough to scent, and clean, ten tubs of muddy children, but the formula is mild enough to use for the newest of babes. However, the most frequent use of this pungently wondrous formula is to scent the bathtubs of intergalatic rockstars.

The jury is out as to which stars like which formula best…strawberry or green apple. Thus the war…

These decadent, extremely passionate humanoids pride themselves on their secret formulas which are passed down from generation to generation and guarded with fervent patriotism. Over time, the planet has exploded with malcontents who cannot decide which formula is better than the other. Of course, the Strawberry Bubble Faction and the Green Apple Faction believe that their soap is best. The Anti-Bubble rebel forces are composed of those Ceremus23Aer‘s who detest both strawberry and green apple essence. Instead, they prefer good old lye soap and water.

Painfully astringent in their view of life, these dedicated individuals do not embrace decadence of any kind (or rockstars either). After their unprecedented defeat of the Chocolate Eaters at Lake Wannabathy on Galaxy-date 3379, the rebel force has been feared and considered enemies of all pleasurably scented plants.

Oblivious to the danger of mediating between the three factions, Captain CoCo is fully relaxed {except for finding this illusive planet], thinking that this is an easy assignment. After all, how hard can it be to convince a world that loves bubble baths to chill?

“Captain,” the ship’s counselor croons mildly, looking about the room for the culprit… “I detect tension on the bridge. I suggest we do something about it at once. A song perhaps? I advised you that allowing the crew to wear their jammies today would halt the unease. But no one listens. Sigh… Smiles, everyone!”

Captain CoCo tilts his head 25 degrees to the right. “Perhaps a short rendition of Buffoons. In the key of G, Navigator Allegra, if you please.”

“Captain, I suggest it would sound better in the key of A.”

“Very well.” Sighs. “Lead us in song, Navigator. One, two, three…hit it!”

(Entire ship’s crew begins to frolic and sing lustily)

After fifteen minutes of a cacophonic nightmare of sound, the captain’s voice is heard above the din screaming. “My head! The horror! Someone is flat!”

A disembodied voice arises from the noise. “It is you, Captain!”

“Who dares suggest that Captain CoCo is flat?” Captain CoCo whines, reaching for a chicken wing to alleviate the stress. “Where is the buffalo sauce? It was here just a minute ago.”

The bridge goes suddenly quiet. All eyes are fixed upon the chicken wing.

“Captain,” declares the First Mate, “it appears to me that there would be less tension if we all ate breakfast. Wouldn’t you agree, Counselor? I’ll volunteer to cook.”

Staring his First Mate down, Captain CoCo sneers as the First Mate crosses his legs and flips his long bangs nonchalantly. Grinning fiercely, he challenges the captain with sparkling eyes. “Should it be kimchi and rice or cereal? Your choice.”

The counselor shakes her head. “Cereal would be faster. Captain?”

Captain CoCo chews reflectively. “Get me more buffalo wings and you, Mr. Blade, won’t be court marshalled.”

“Thank you, Captain,” First Mate Blade responds, uncrossing his long legs. “I will go to prepare first. Five minutes. Pebbly Poohs or Honey Bears?”

“Both. I think…” Captain CoCo says as he sucks on his chicken bone. “Two dozen wings for me, Mr. Blade. Post haste! Yesterday!”

Mr. Blade turns his handsome profile toward the captain in an attitude that conveys his displeasure at having to obey this despot of a leader. He rolls his eyes and pouts petulantly as he exits the bridge with a parting jab.
Yours will take an hour, sir. Counselor, join me?”

“It is better than staying here. My head aches from all this testosteronic posturing. At least in the kitchen, there will only be one of you.”

…Meanwhile, moving as fast as methane gas can propel a warp engine, the Strawberry Bubble Faction’s ship is approaching the IPF Grande Pollo at alarming speed…

To be continued…Muahahahaha…

It must be because my voice is naturally husky.. That’s why no matter how I sing, my voice really isn’t the type that gets hoarse easily.. But today when I woke up, finally my voice went hoarse.. Is it because all the tension is eased now..? At the same time while thinking “Ah, it’s been such a long time”..It’s also a relief that it became like this after the South American tour ended….^^ Although I lost my voice.. because it’s like a badge to show how I’ve come so far in the past 3 weeks without rest.. it’s a kind of weariness that makes me happy.. To the American and South American fans who made my heart run so fast.. and give me the energy to do nothing but my best every single time.. Thank you sincerely.. Ah.. Now I really have to get some rest ㅎ

[Exclusive] 120911 An Interview with TVXQ, ‘From Debut to World Stars’

[Exclusive] 120911 An Interview with TVXQ, ‘From Debut to World Stars’

We want to be artists where we can happily give dreams and hope to people. We want to develop more today, than yesterday. Making a tomorrow that is better than today.

REFLECTION

Q. According to the KpopStarz poll results in June, TVXQ was selected as the top K-Pop group that expanded the most in their global influence for the first half of 2012. What are your thoughts on this?

Yoonho: I’m very glad that we received this amount of love. This is also another way for us to spread awareness about our nation’s culture; therefore, this means we also now hold a greater responsibility.

Changmin: First off, I’m really glad that we were chosen through the votes of people in many countries ^^. I’m always sorry that I’m unable to personally greet and meet them. I’m always thankful for their support.

Q. TVXQ is now approaching the group’s 10 year anniversary. What are your thoughts on how far you’ve come?

Yoonho: I think that TVXQ is a group that has grown with all of the fans. More than anyone, the 10 year anniversary has a special meaning to me. TVXQ will work hard to further grow and to show a good image, so we hope for your continuous love and interest.

Changmin: There were many situations that happened, but due to the fans that cheered for us and loved us, we were able to come this far. Because of that, I think that I have to work even harder in the future as well

ACTIVITIES IN THE PAST

Q. TVXQ debuted in Japan and topped the Oricon charts at No.1 after making a grand slam in Korea. Our guess is that it must not have been easy for K-Pop to succeed in the Japanese market at that time. How did you feel about putting aside all the fame and success in Korea and debuting in Japan? How did it affect the group in terms of the group’s growth and development?

Yoonho: When we first debuted in Japan, we were receiving a great deal of love in Korea. At first, it was very difficult for us in Japan. We went to a country whose culture we have never experienced. It was a big challenge for us to learn their culture and work hard to show our uniqueness. The language was a large obstacle we had to overcome, but we never gave up. We thought of the people that loved us and we genuinely worked hard, which resulted in the TVXQ you see today. The fact that we received a great deal of love in Korea and had to start all over again in Japan gave us a mindset of working hard. Due to that, TVXQ doesn’t know how to give up.

Changmin: First off, when we went to Japan, a place where no one recognized us, we were able to be humbled and return to the days when we first started. It was also an opportunity for us to develop our individual skills…^^ I’ve realized that the world is larger than we think~

Q. Looking back, when was your most memorable moment? Also, is there anything that you wish you would have done differently?

Yoonho: The moment that I will remember most happened recently at the Tokyo Dome, where we stood on stage once again. There were many people waiting for us and thinking of us, and it moved me and made me cry for the first time. Although time passes, it will remain in my memories for a long time. If I were to go back in time, there is nothing I would do differently. Those were the decisions I made, and every moment I worked hard, so there are no regrets. I was thrilled when our CD came out for the first time.

Changmin: When I was able to sing in front of others and feel importance and joy. It would have been nice to know the joy of singing earlier

 PRESENT

Q. What made TVXQ stand out or be different from other groups?

Yoonho: We never are satisfied with the present, but we always try our best. I think that is our greatest weapon. On stage, I think that we perform as if we are going to die, and I think our genuine attitude was seen by the audience. As for the music, we try to let people hear our differentiated music, and I think people recognize that. I think that is the reason for the current TVXQ.

Changmin: At the least, we give it our all on stage, and I think our fans really appreciate that.

Q. When comparing the group’s dreams and goals from the past and now, are they the same or different? Did you know that this is where you would be 9 years ago?

Yoonho: My dreams from the past aren’t different from my current dreams. Until the day I die, I want to be happy and do my best on stage. I also want to do music that will remain in people’s memories, even though time has passed. Therefore, I’m curious as to see what TVXQ will be like in the future. 9 years ago, rather than expecting it, I wanted to be on stage and do my best. Therefore, I’m able to be in this position.

Changmin: They’re different. In the past, I dreamed of becoming a sports reporter or announcer. I didn’t expect I would be here 9 years ago.

 PERSONAL OPINION

Q. Who are your role models in life and in music?

Yoonho: My role model in life is my father. It’s because he showed me with actions, rather than words. When I become older, I want to become a cool father like that. My role model for music is Michael Jackson. He has passed away, but until his last day, he continued to dance and prepare for his performances and as an artist. He always tried to show new types of music. Until that age, he was able to dance and communicate with the audience. I want to become like Michael Jackson, who had an endless passion and who gave dreams and hopes to others.

Changmin: Our company’s producer, Lee Soo Man and our company’s composer, Yoo Young Jin. I admire their endless and challenging mindset, while still maintaining their unique color.

Q. Which artist’s music are you currently listening to?

Yoonho: Recently, I’ve been listening to Babyface’s first album. I think he’s an awesome producer. I’ve been into old pop and old trends, so I’ve been listening to Babyface’s first album.

Changmin: Maroon 5′s “Pay Phone.”

Q. If you could do collaboration with any artists, who would it be? And why?

Yoonho: It’s difficult to choose who because they are great. I want to work with people who have a different style from us.

Changmin: I want to receive a song from Brian McKnight. I respect him.

Q. What is your favorite international food?

Yoonho: I personally like Korea’s food the best. Recently, I’ve really been liking soybean paste stew. I actually want to introduce everyone to our country’s food. The food that I want to suggest is Korean barbecue ribs. If you come to our country, please try it. I recommend it.

Changmin: If I were to only choose one, that is too cruel….honestly, I like everything ^^

Q. What do you think you would be doing if you were not an artist?

Yoonho: When I was younger, my dream was to become a prosecutor. I wanted to become a person that can give others order and hope. If I wasn’t able to become that, I might be traveling overseas and would have probably found out about countries, while studying.

Changmin: Someone who is preparing for employment?

Q. Would you tell us your marriage plan? And what would be the image of your future spouse?

Yoonho: I don’t have a special plan yet. I just think of becoming a good father. I hope that it could be a person with a bright personality, no matter what happens. Someone who can smile and overcome many circumstances.

Changmin: I don’t want to marry too late. I want to marry someone who is nice and pretty, but most importantly, someone who would be able to understand and accept me.

 Future

Q. Could you tell us a little bit about your next album and how the preparation is going? (Concept, Music Video, Genre, Fashion, Choreography). Are you going to be collaborating with anyone? Any other surprises?

Yoonho: Our album is still in the works, but generally, we will work hard to show good images to everyone.

Q. You have had some experience performing in the U.S. with SMTOWN. What’s your view towards the U.S. market and do you have any plans to debut in the U.S.? If you come to the U.S., would you be willing to change your genre of music to fit the U.S. market?

Yoonho: The U.S. market can be called authentic, that is how large the market is. When we stood on the Madison Square Garden stage, I was happy and realized that this was possible. If there is a good opportunity for us to debut in the U.S., I want to do it. If we were to debut in the U.S., we would have to learn the language and customs. We want to send out greetings with our style.

Q. What is your ultimate goal as an artist?

Yoonho: We want to be artists where we can happily give dreams and hope to people. I gained dreams and hopes while watching Michael Jackson’s performance. Similar to that, I want to be an artist where our performances can give warmth and hope to others.

Changmin: I want to develop more today, than yesterday. Making a tomorrow that is better than today.

Q. What do you think will be in store for TVXQ when the group reaches their 30′s?

Yoonho: It seems like there wouldn’t be many changes, but we will have more experience and freedom. I think that will create a warmer feeling. Other than that, I think it will be similar. We will always try hard to show new images. By then, we will probably be more comfortable working and we’ll be able to show it on stage.

Changmin: Music that has freedom and fun, but one that also has passion

 GREETINGS

Q. Could you please greet our KpopStarz readers in the U.S. and worldwide?

Yoonho: I’m glad that I was able to send my greetings with good news. For all the fans in the world, we will work hard to return the love with not only music, but we will try to also show our growth as humans. So, please continue to show us interest and love.

Changmin: Thank you for always supporting TVXQ~ we will work hard to come back with a cooler image and better music.

[News] 120910 JYJ’s Junsu Performs For A Total of 5,000 Fans in Mexico and Brazil

[News] 120910 JYJ’s Junsu Performs For A Total of 5,000 Fans in Mexico and Brazil

JYJ‘s Kim Junsu (XIA) put on a superb performance in front of 5,000 fans this past week.

The singer who wrapped up successful shows in New York and Los Angeles continued his World Tour by performing at the Blackberry Auditorium in Mexico on September 6th (KST).

The fans there enthusiastically responded to his visit by perfectly singing along to his songs “TARANTALLEGRA“, “UNCOMMITTED“, “I Don’t Like Love“, “Set Me Free“, and more.

3,500 fans flocked to this performance in Mexico, and the local media outlets as well as the cultural center were shocked to see that the show had completely sold out.

Producer Alex of Mexico Media TV ‘Azteca’ remarked, “Kim Junsu (XIA) is a total performer. His independent solo album was amazing, and we feel his performance today was also remarkable. We would like to continue to share news regarding Junsu (XIA) with the Mexican fans in the future.”

And after observing Junsu’s show, Seo Nam Kyo of the Korean Culture Institue in Mexico remarked, “There are about 50,000 Hallyu fans in Mexico, and I knew that K-Pop was popular amongst the young people, however, I truly felt it after seeing this performance today. It was a performance where I was able to realize why Junsu was indeed so popular, and I hope that starting with this concert, more and more Mexicans will be able to get to know Korea.”

As soon as his performance in Mexico came to an end, Junsu got on a plane the next day to perform at Espacio Victory in São Paulo, Brazil. At the performance where 1,300 fans were present, Junsu made the crowd go wild when he stated in Portugese, ‘Obrigado (thank you)‘, and ‘Amore (I love you)‘.”

Coming to South America to perform an independent concert was a huge challenge on my part, and I was concerned about a few different things because I could not utilize the greatest equipment, but those concerns vanished once I arrived,” Junsu said. “There were so many fans who loved my songs, and I earned new energy. I would like to take responsibility to successfully wrap up the rest of my World Tour.”

[Fanaccount] 120902 XIA 1st World Tour Concert in LA

[Fanaccount] 120902 XIA 1st World Tour Concert in LA

So much I saw, so much to say, yet so speechless during Junsu’s actual live performance >.<

People I met: I thought I had to make sacrifices to make it here, but others really showed their support for Junsu. This was my first ever JYJ/DBSK anything concert ever (went to JYJ LA showcase but not actual concert) so I was not anticipating the global support Junsu and the rest of JYJ has! Met fans from Canada, Japan, Thailand, China and Vietnam. From states: Utah, Nevada, Washington, and of course California.

-Also got really close to a Korean Fan, who is studying abroad here at the perfect time for the concert. She is AMAZINGG. Was a fan since Debut DBSK days, still a fan of them all, and almost 10 years and counting!! I was such a nuisance, kept asking so many inside scoops on our boys. And boy, did she know A LOT. K-fans really do keep a lot to themselves haha ^^;; For instance she said some fact/faction on some of their dating life but we couldn’t go too deep b/c of our communication issues. PS: She said I could fan account what she says as she can’t really write in English, and I will remark on her a lot x)

-Talked with Automatic and his Fiancé! Automatic, was a star! He was so chill with talking to Su’s fans and getting pictures. His fiancé told our group that she was happy to work with Junsu, and –cross fingers- with JYJ in the future. It was also her that helped Su with his English for Uncommitted. We said thanks for trying her best as his English coach HEHE b/c he really did improve!

The Line: Thank you to JYJ4SF for preparing so much for us (lightsticks, bookmarks, signs etc.) while waiting for so long! One scene I might be embarrassed about was when we were moving into the Hollywood Palladium, there was food/drink litter and trash EVERYWHERE from waiting in the long lines. My new Korean friend said, that NEVER in Korea would they trash the outside venue because they did not want to tarnish the name of JYJ/Junsu. YIKES, I felt ashamed, though I do admit this part of Hollywood can’t be much cleaner.

Venue: The venue itself was small but intimate for Junsu’s LA concert. Top floor was not open for general audience, only Automatic and other VIP guests went up there. I heard standing floor VIP was sold out, and looked filled to me. Even where I stood in general admission, it was partially full. Love the turnout! There would have been more red and special glowsticks visible too if they were not confiscated by staff at the gate -_- But one good thing about a smaller venue, everyone can practically have a good view of Su.

ACTUAL CONCERT: I’m at a loss of words. I was calm before waiting in line, and then anticipation and excitement arose! I yelled at times, but wanted to hear all of Su’s incredible live singing so did not jump around as much. It went by too fast, and I didn’t wanna miss a single beat. JUNSU came out, and I felt all our adrenaline, blood pumping. My feet were not tired or sore anymore.

-I couldn’t tell, but my Korean friend whose seen him countless of times in Korea said his condition isn’t his best. He was not sick it seems, but prolly due to jetlag and back to back concerts. I thought he was so powerful, intense and energetic!

-FAVORITE SONGS: All were FANTASTIC but must see are Tarantellegra, No gain, INTOXICATION, Elizabeth, and Uncommitted. My favorite ballads: Round and Round, You are so Beautiful. Su even ripped his pants in Uncommitted but played it off well. Couldn’t see in my area, until he left stage suddenly, quickly changed, and told us about it. Su said it was a treat for those who were able to catch that haha.

-During Genie Time, Junsu received a soccer jersey shirt as a gift! Don’t think it counted as a wish. He did Angel Xiah (which he STILL LOVES TO DO based on my k-fan friend, but is shyer as he ages and with men around). He said happy birthday to a fan (lucky girl!), and we wanted him to do an Oyaji gag, but declined prolly cause most of us can’t understand. You underestimate us Su, how can we not know your favorite gags?! He finally did Gangnam style with all our persuading as our last wish!! Maybe he be more comfortable with music on, but I like seeing him all cute and awkward LOL. He said he can’t really do it, cause he simply watched the video but never tried learning it. Junsu, please. You are a fast learner haha, and you say you listen to Gangnam style frequently in your cyworld interview too. Interpreter said Junsu did meet Psy in LA just recently as a plus!

-A fan boy said something prolly like an “I love you Junsu!” and Su replied with his lively English words he knows, sorta like, “WOOH! CHHYEAA! OK! THANK YOU!”

-Fallen Leaves: Yes, he chocked near the end of the performance. No tears, but definitely watery eyed. Aww Su, this song is very meaningful to you and still gets you emotional. Kind of ironic because my Korean friend said she wants to see Junsu cry because in all her concerts seeing him, he never cried! Now she’s saying, “Uljima (don’t cry)!)” He paused a bit to collect himself, tried to smile a bit for us, breathed a big breath, and continued to complete the song. BEAUTIFUL.

CONCLUSION: Honestly, I am not even Junsu biased but Junsu truly captured my heart during this two hour event. I understand why Junsu is so sexy yet so cute, so childlike yet so mature/charismatic! He really is a 110% performer/artist. I can admit no one can hit dance moves with live vocals as spot on as him. It went by too fast. They really do leave us with wanting more huh?! I went by myself, came away with unforgettable memories.
I was trying to make it short but was much longer than expected so sorry! Overall, my favorite and BEST CONCERT I’ve ever been to! No exaggeration needed.

thanks: Alyssa (a reader of sharingyoochun!)
