We want to be artists where we can happily give dreams and hope to people. We want to develop more today, than yesterday. Making a tomorrow that is better than today.
REFLECTION
Q. According to the KpopStarz poll results in June, TVXQ was selected as the top K-Pop group that expanded the most in their global influence for the first half of 2012. What are your thoughts on this?
Yoonho: I’m very glad that we received this amount of love. This is also another way for us to spread awareness about our nation’s culture; therefore, this means we also now hold a greater responsibility.
Changmin: First off, I’m really glad that we were chosen through the votes of people in many countries ^^. I’m always sorry that I’m unable to personally greet and meet them. I’m always thankful for their support.
Q. TVXQ is now approaching the group’s 10 year anniversary. What are your thoughts on how far you’ve come?
Yoonho: I think that TVXQ is a group that has grown with all of the fans. More than anyone, the 10 year anniversary has a special meaning to me. TVXQ will work hard to further grow and to show a good image, so we hope for your continuous love and interest.
Changmin: There were many situations that happened, but due to the fans that cheered for us and loved us, we were able to come this far. Because of that, I think that I have to work even harder in the future as well
ACTIVITIES IN THE PAST
Q. TVXQ debuted in Japan and topped the Oricon charts at No.1 after making a grand slam in Korea. Our guess is that it must not have been easy for K-Pop to succeed in the Japanese market at that time. How did you feel about putting aside all the fame and success in Korea and debuting in Japan? How did it affect the group in terms of the group’s growth and development?
Yoonho: When we first debuted in Japan, we were receiving a great deal of love in Korea. At first, it was very difficult for us in Japan. We went to a country whose culture we have never experienced. It was a big challenge for us to learn their culture and work hard to show our uniqueness. The language was a large obstacle we had to overcome, but we never gave up. We thought of the people that loved us and we genuinely worked hard, which resulted in the TVXQ you see today. The fact that we received a great deal of love in Korea and had to start all over again in Japan gave us a mindset of working hard. Due to that, TVXQ doesn’t know how to give up.
Changmin: First off, when we went to Japan, a place where no one recognized us, we were able to be humbled and return to the days when we first started. It was also an opportunity for us to develop our individual skills…^^ I’ve realized that the world is larger than we think~
Q. Looking back, when was your most memorable moment? Also, is there anything that you wish you would have done differently?
Yoonho: The moment that I will remember most happened recently at the Tokyo Dome, where we stood on stage once again. There were many people waiting for us and thinking of us, and it moved me and made me cry for the first time. Although time passes, it will remain in my memories for a long time. If I were to go back in time, there is nothing I would do differently. Those were the decisions I made, and every moment I worked hard, so there are no regrets. I was thrilled when our CD came out for the first time.
Changmin: When I was able to sing in front of others and feel importance and joy. It would have been nice to know the joy of singing earlier
PRESENT
Q. What made TVXQ stand out or be different from other groups?
Yoonho: We never are satisfied with the present, but we always try our best. I think that is our greatest weapon. On stage, I think that we perform as if we are going to die, and I think our genuine attitude was seen by the audience. As for the music, we try to let people hear our differentiated music, and I think people recognize that. I think that is the reason for the current TVXQ.
Changmin: At the least, we give it our all on stage, and I think our fans really appreciate that.
Q. When comparing the group’s dreams and goals from the past and now, are they the same or different? Did you know that this is where you would be 9 years ago?
Yoonho: My dreams from the past aren’t different from my current dreams. Until the day I die, I want to be happy and do my best on stage. I also want to do music that will remain in people’s memories, even though time has passed. Therefore, I’m curious as to see what TVXQ will be like in the future. 9 years ago, rather than expecting it, I wanted to be on stage and do my best. Therefore, I’m able to be in this position.
Changmin: They’re different. In the past, I dreamed of becoming a sports reporter or announcer. I didn’t expect I would be here 9 years ago.
PERSONAL OPINION
Q. Who are your role models in life and in music?
Yoonho: My role model in life is my father. It’s because he showed me with actions, rather than words. When I become older, I want to become a cool father like that. My role model for music is Michael Jackson. He has passed away, but until his last day, he continued to dance and prepare for his performances and as an artist. He always tried to show new types of music. Until that age, he was able to dance and communicate with the audience. I want to become like Michael Jackson, who had an endless passion and who gave dreams and hopes to others.
Changmin: Our company’s producer, Lee Soo Man and our company’s composer, Yoo Young Jin. I admire their endless and challenging mindset, while still maintaining their unique color.
Q. Which artist’s music are you currently listening to?
Yoonho: Recently, I’ve been listening to Babyface’s first album. I think he’s an awesome producer. I’ve been into old pop and old trends, so I’ve been listening to Babyface’s first album.
Changmin: Maroon 5′s “Pay Phone.”
Q. If you could do collaboration with any artists, who would it be? And why?
Yoonho: It’s difficult to choose who because they are great. I want to work with people who have a different style from us.
Changmin: I want to receive a song from Brian McKnight. I respect him.
Q. What is your favorite international food?
Yoonho: I personally like Korea’s food the best. Recently, I’ve really been liking soybean paste stew. I actually want to introduce everyone to our country’s food. The food that I want to suggest is Korean barbecue ribs. If you come to our country, please try it. I recommend it.
Changmin: If I were to only choose one, that is too cruel….honestly, I like everything ^^
Q. What do you think you would be doing if you were not an artist?
Yoonho: When I was younger, my dream was to become a prosecutor. I wanted to become a person that can give others order and hope. If I wasn’t able to become that, I might be traveling overseas and would have probably found out about countries, while studying.
Changmin: Someone who is preparing for employment?
Q. Would you tell us your marriage plan? And what would be the image of your future spouse?
Yoonho: I don’t have a special plan yet. I just think of becoming a good father. I hope that it could be a person with a bright personality, no matter what happens. Someone who can smile and overcome many circumstances.
Changmin: I don’t want to marry too late. I want to marry someone who is nice and pretty, but most importantly, someone who would be able to understand and accept me.
Future
Q. Could you tell us a little bit about your next album and how the preparation is going? (Concept, Music Video, Genre, Fashion, Choreography). Are you going to be collaborating with anyone? Any other surprises?
Yoonho: Our album is still in the works, but generally, we will work hard to show good images to everyone.
Q. You have had some experience performing in the U.S. with SMTOWN. What’s your view towards the U.S. market and do you have any plans to debut in the U.S.? If you come to the U.S., would you be willing to change your genre of music to fit the U.S. market?
Yoonho: The U.S. market can be called authentic, that is how large the market is. When we stood on the Madison Square Garden stage, I was happy and realized that this was possible. If there is a good opportunity for us to debut in the U.S., I want to do it. If we were to debut in the U.S., we would have to learn the language and customs. We want to send out greetings with our style.
Q. What is your ultimate goal as an artist?
Yoonho: We want to be artists where we can happily give dreams and hope to people. I gained dreams and hopes while watching Michael Jackson’s performance. Similar to that, I want to be an artist where our performances can give warmth and hope to others.
Changmin: I want to develop more today, than yesterday. Making a tomorrow that is better than today.
Q. What do you think will be in store for TVXQ when the group reaches their 30′s?
Yoonho: It seems like there wouldn’t be many changes, but we will have more experience and freedom. I think that will create a warmer feeling. Other than that, I think it will be similar. We will always try hard to show new images. By then, we will probably be more comfortable working and we’ll be able to show it on stage.
Changmin: Music that has freedom and fun, but one that also has passion
GREETINGS
Q. Could you please greet our KpopStarz readers in the U.S. and worldwide?
Yoonho: I’m glad that I was able to send my greetings with good news. For all the fans in the world, we will work hard to return the love with not only music, but we will try to also show our growth as humans. So, please continue to show us interest and love.
Changmin: Thank you for always supporting TVXQ~ we will work hard to come back with a cooler image and better music.

JYJ’s Jun Su recently talked about his ideal type.
On September 5 at 2:00 p.m., Jun Su gave an interview to Korean reporters at Camino Real Hotel in Mexico City before holding a concert in Mexico.
After releasing his first solo album, Tarantallegra, in May, Jun Su had concerts in Seoul, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, New York, and LA, meeting over 40,000 fans. On September 6 at 8:00 p.m., Jun Su will hold a concert at the Auditorio BlackBerry in Mexico City. He’s the first Korean solo singer who holds a concert in Mexico city.
Jun Su also talked about his ideal type.
Jun Su said, “I want to have a girlfriend. I don’t have a specific ideal type, but I like a girl who is polite and feminine. I’ve dated a few times, but I don’t have a girlfriend now. I think I will be kicked out even if I have a girlfriend now, though,” insinuating that he’s currently having busy days.
Regarding the fact that he’s the first Korean solo singer holding a concert in Mexico, Jun Su said, “This is my first visit to Mexico, and I’m very happy to be able to hold a concert here. More than 3,000 fans will come to my concert in spite of the fact that this is my first concert in Mexico. I’m so thrilled.”
Jun Su also said, “When I got this opportunity to hold a concert in Mexico, I thought K-pop had really spread all over the world. I’ll try my utmost to create the best concert for my fans in Mexico.”

[News] 120906 K-Pop’s First Artist to Perform in Mexico, JYJ Junsu, “I Gave up My Drama Casting Role for This Album
Junsu stated, “There is about 500,000 miles that I didn’t use earlier this year for my mileage, but it does not matter. Wherever my fans are, I will go to see them.”
Junsu stated, “There is about 500,000 miles that I didn’t use earlier this year for my mileage, but it does not matter. Wherever my fans are, I will go to see them.”
JYJ member Junsu is the first K-Pop artist to perform in Mexico. Junsu commented, “I worked really hard not to make anything boring or normal.”
Yesterday, Junsu held a press conference in Mexico. Junsu commented, “Although this was my first concert in Mexico, I was shocked to see that all 3,000 seats were sold out. Since I am the first K-Pop musician to perform here, I promise not to let anyone down.”
There had been many problems before being able to release a solo album and hold a world tour. Junsu commented, “In reality, it is hard to show someone’s face on TV unless it’s acting and so I rejected the idea to make a new album at first. I was also casted for a mini drama series, but if both my acting and singing career are on the line, I knew that I would have to choose what I am best at. That is why I gave up my acting role and decided to go on with making this album.”
Junsu’s new album was a major success with over 120,000 albums sold. His Asia tour brought in 40,000 fans as well.
Junsu believed that his success was due to the internet. He commented, “The days where songs would only become popular through TV broadcasts are gone. Now, it become popular through music videos online. The internet allows anyone to advertise their content online.”
Junsu also commented, “Doing musicals helped me change into a more positive person. Certain things I’ve learned from musicals helped me to make this new album as well. If I had not done musicals, I would not have made this great album. Musicals helped me to express myself freely as an artist.”
Junsu was very thankful that he was able to portray his own style and image through this album.
After his concert in Mexico, he will continue on to Brazil and Chile.

Hello, Cyworld members!
I am XIA, greeting everyone through my official solo album and English single.
Nice to meet you
1. This time, TARANTALLEGRA is a song that you personallly composed and I was very surprised at its fairly high quality. Since when have you started composing songs? – Gwon Gooyoung
Firstly, the musical aspect of this song is also important but because I pictured out the visual aspect first then composed it, I worked on both composition and filming for the music video at the same time. Besides, the music video was released 1 day before the song itself so I have to work harder on the visual aspect like choreography and fashion etc to make the song even better.
I think I started composing when I was 20. I learnt about the basics of composition and naturally strengthened my skills as what I felt and learnt by myself along the way. At the moment, I still want to learn more about this and also compose more songs.
2. I am curious whether you got the inspirations from which circumstance while composing. From natural scene? Your everyday life? Or, did they just suddenly come to you? -@shiningspot
Everything around me, also everything that happened to me is my inspiration.
If a melody or a beat pops up in my head, I will run to the composing room right away to compose and keep them there. The title song of my solo album was inspired a lot by the role ‘Death’ in musical Elisabeth in terms of its mystical and androgynous vibe.
3. When did you have the idea of adding the sound of gong instrument into the Oriental version of TARANTALLEGRA? Also, is the high-pitched part at the end your ad-lib? -@wnstn4803
It is because TARANTALLEGRA is a song where orchestra was grafted onto pop. Ever since its music was finished, I have thought that if I get to make a remix for my repackage album later on, I will make use of gong instrument in order to revive a Korean sense, and also an Oriental feeling for the song.
When I was young, I have learnt how to play Samul nori like Jang-gu, Buk and Gong. To be honest, because it is an English version, I planned to put aside the idea of adding the sound of traditional instruments but after recording the song, it came to my mind that they would match even better with an English song like this so I decided to add the sound of gong into the record. The reason why I add the ad-lib part at the end is because I want to put the fantasy and oriental sense of the song to the extreme. Imagining about that feeling in my mind, I naturally added in my ad-lib while singing.
(T/N: Samul nori is 4 traditional musical instruments of Korea, including Jang-gu, Buk, KKaeng-kwa-ri and Jing )
4. Is there any interesting episode when you recorded for this album? -@peach_xia
I already felt this when working on the worldwide album last time, I felt really carefree when recording. Because the composer respects the artist and respects his feelings 120%, I feel great when working. It is also the same at the recording time. This time when I was singing, I choked a little bit and started coughing, the composer Automatic told me that I could have a rest until whenever I wanted and asked me to have a cup of warm tea then continue, etc he cared about me so much that I didn’t even know how to react. It was a nice time working with him.
5. Which music genre do you want to try in the future? To be honest, do you feel the most confident in any area? -@mim-ee
Honestly, rather than talking about which genre I want to try, everything is considered as challenge to me. I think that in music, the desire to always take on new challenge is very important. Rather than dividing the songs into different genre, I want to sing well every song. For the upcoming World tour, instead of a repackage album, I asked for English song and went to the US to work on my English single then released it. To me, processes like these are also considered as one kind of challenge.
6. If you get to have a duet, please tell us who are the BEST 3 female singers that you definitely want to work with and also why you choose them!
Honestly, I want to work with a lot of singers since there are a lot of excellent singers who can convey endless of feelings through their voice. I just hope that in the duet song that we sing, our voice would go well with each other and create a crossover effect. Hmm…If I really have to choose then
3rd is Lyn-noona who owns such a beautiful voice.
Then, 2nd is Baek Jiyoung-sunbaenim. I like every OST song that sunbaenim has sung.
1st is Lee Sora-sunbaenim. I felt really honored that sunbaenim has said she wanted to have a duet with me in an article a while ago and I was very impressed when I saw sunbaenim on ‘I am a singer’.
7. Because you have changed your hair color so often when traveling around for your Asia tour, it has become a hot topic among the fans. Why did you change your hair color that often? Also, which hair color do you like the most? -@bbiyoxiah
Because this is my first solo tour so I have to be well prepared and every single city in the tour is equally important. For every concert, I want to see it as a new start and do my best so I changed my hair color. Plus, because of the different color image of each country, I chose my hair color as a part of fan service. As a result, I dyed my hair to yellow for Thailand, blue for Indonesia and Taiwan, red for Shanghai.
8. For the first time in history, all seats in the Sejong Center were sold out (until now, XIA Junsu is still the only one who can do that). Whenever you perform musical, the seats will be all sold out. I think you feel very different at the curatin call when looking at the full audience. I am curious of how you feel ^^! -@For_XIA
I feel thankful. It seems that I became an extreme perfectionist because of this. I have to do as best as I can on every stage. When performing, I couldn’t see the audience but at the curtain call when I saw the whole audience very clearly, I felt so happy and grateful that tears flowed from my eyes.
Big applause from the audiences who watched a performance where all actors and staff have put in their best, then they cried and laughed with us. That is something that makes me feel so happy and thankful that I cannot express in words. And that naturally gives me motivation to do even better in the next performance.
9. Beside JYJ members, can you list some celebrities that you are close with? I am curious of XIA Junsu’s circle of friends!
I separate them into two big groups. Friends in the entertainment industry, gamers, the ones in my FC MEN team and the sunbaenims in musical industry.
I am close with Kikwang, Doojoon, Jisuk-sunbae, Hyunjoong and Sungkwang-hyung.
I often contact and hang out with some musical sunbaenims like Jo Seungwoo hyung, Seonah-noona, Park Gunhyung-sunbae, Joohyun-noona, Min Younggi-sunbaenim etc.
10. 10 years, 20 years later, what kind of artist will XIA Junsu become? Or, how do you want yourself to be in the future? Like, I think I will still continue to sing this kind of music, or It will be great if everyone always remembers me as such singer..However you want to be! -@XIA_nolene
I don’t think 10 years are too far away. In fact, I think of that as a near future. Of course, I will still take on some challenges 10 years later. Since I will never ever stop challenging myself. I hope I will become an artist in his late 30s that ages nicely. I absolutely don’t have the thought of still being a popular singer until then. Rather than that, it will be great if up to that moment, I am still not afraid of taking on challenges, still love music, still do my best on stage and also I hope to become a Kim Junsu who will get to know more about life and get wiser with age.
1. 5 songs that recently XIA Junsu has been listening to the most
1st: Gangnam style – Psy
I definitely listen to Psy hyung’s hit song very often recently.
2nd: Beautiful night – BEAST
BEAST dongsaengs’ song
3rd: Cherry blossom ending – Busker Busker
A simple song
4th: Love is dripping – 10cm
5th: So sick – Neyo
Honestly speaking, I don’t listen to any specific song or singer. The songs I listen to are random so it seems like I don’t have such thought like I must definitely recommend the song of this singer. There are times that I listen to a lot of pop songs but when I worked on my song in USA, I also listened to a lot of hip-hop and R&B. To be honest, the song that I listen to the most is my own song. In order to monitor the songs in my released album, I listen to them a lot throughout 1-2 weeks.
2. The song that brings comfort to you when you feel tired and troubled in life or the song that has a deep meaning in your life
Why can’t you love me – Park Euntae (Musical Mozart)
Golden star – Shin Youngsook (Musical Mozart)
All these 2 songs are from the musical Mozart. They are the ones that gave me a lot of comfort.
3. If you have lover, the BEST 3 songs that you want to sing to her
1st: Lullaby – Junsu (XIA)
2nd: That man – Baek Jiyoung
3rd: I love you – Tim
If I have a lover, I will want to sing a lot of sweet songs for her. This song is not in Cyworld Music but I really like the song ‘I have never loved like this’ from the musical ‘Tears of heaven’.
4. Among the songs that you have sung so far, which are the BEST 5 songs that you cherish the most:
1st: Fallen leaves – JYJ
2nd: You are so beautiful – XIA
3rd: TARANTALLEGRA – XIA
4th: I dislike love – XIA
5th: Dew-laden tree – XIA

Kim Jaejoong, who has a mysterious aura, was surprisingly candid in answering my questions. Staff from C-JeS said that although Jaejoong did not speak, he would never put on any false pretence, and is straightforward. This is part of his charm, and he also spoke about many issues that fans are concerned about.
Did you feel any pressure acting with veteran actor Kim Eung Soo in Dr Jin?
Burden? Not at all. Father and I got along very well from the beginning. Looking at his expressions made it easy for me to show my feelings. There were a lot of impromptu moments that were not scripted into the drama, and these came naturally to me as I watched his expression and actions.
In the crying scenes, there was a lot of drool.
(Laughs) We already talked about this during our gathering. Actually, there really was a lot drool, but in actual fact it was a mix of sweat, saliva, tears and nasal fluids. (Laughs) there are many complicated reasons for this. During that time, I had stayed up for many nights in a row, hadn’t had a proper meal, and it was really hot on set; once the feelings came, and I saw my father’s tears, I just exploded, and whatever there was in my body just came out. (Laughs)
I heard that you bought Kim Eung Soo alcohol as a present?
Father was always someone who loved alcohol, and when filming the first scene, he said that it would be great if he could have a glass of whisky on such a hot day. I kept that in mind, and said that I would buy him alcohol in the future, and that was why I bought him alcohol as a present.
Kim Eung Soo seems to have really liked it?
He was never one to hide his feelings. If he likes something, he would say so directly. Father’s handphone was a 2G model, and he would sit beside me and say “My handphone isn’t easy to use, so it hard to keep in contact,” “Someone said that they would buy me a new phone, but when will that be.” He said that to me three times. So I ordered a new phone at once, and gave it to him. Although he didn’t say much to me, except “This is a smartphone, a 4G model.” He didn’t know how to use various functions on the phone, so I did a search online when I had the time, and helped him download everything he needed.
Did you always like to mix with seniors?
Jeong Hye-Seong sunbaenim once said that it is unacceptable for an actor be hated by others when he first starts acting. At first, I did not mean to try to earn their favour intentionally, but simply felt that I should start from the basics, such as reaching the filming set first, and not lazing around. Regardless of whether I acted well or not, I should still show that I am working hard so that my efforts could perhaps be recognised by everyone.
Did you get any acting advice from Jeong Hye-Seong?
She isn’t that kind of person. She says that no matter who you are, you should always respect your co-actors. If they don’t do well, it can still be part of their learning experience, or even a personal style, so we should let them explore their abilities to the fullest. She would definitely not say things like “You should do this or that.”
A lot of people are rooting for you and Jin Yi Han to win the Best Couple Award.
It always seems to end up that way for me. Instead of the female actors, I seem to have better chemistry with the male actors. Best Couple Award? That would be great, thanks.
You look like Robert Pattinson.
I’ve heard that one before. Am I? He’s from the West, I’m from the East, I don’t think we look alike.
Compared to Park Yoochun, who do you think is a better actor?
Yoochun and I are totally different. Yoochun has a quiet toughness, and when he is acting he shows gentleness with strength shining through, and I find that very interesting. I am the type that gives of a feeling of toughness, and the gentleness shines through the toughness. If Yoochun played the role of Kim Kyung Tak, and I played Lee Gak, I think it would be a mismatch. I think it’s a good thing to have a team with members that each possess their own unique qualities.
You are very good looking.
No, I’m not good looking, I just look very different.
Who do you think is better good looking (than you)?
Junsu is better looking. Honestly, among the JYJ fans, each member has their own fans as well. These fans each have their own unique styles. Junsu and Yoochun’s charm is very different from mine. Junsu has something that I just don’t have.
What do you consider as your charm?
Hmm..I think there are two things. Overseas, it seems like the fans will notice me first, because I look special, and people tend to remember my face. But after that, the fans that continue to stick with me, may like me for my looks but more so because of my personality. Just by face, I think that I look a little rude, but actually I’m a nice young man.
What are Jaejoong’s beliefs?
It’s similar to Kim Kyung Tak. I want to protect those that are dear to me. There is a tattoo on my chest, that tells me to “Always keep the faith.” Man is the most afraid of losing things that they have gained. Even if I lose those things, I still want to protect things that I care about. Because I do not have the confidence to do this well, I tattooed it myself. Every time I falter, I look at it and regain my strength.
Is there something that you really want to achieve?
Not at the moment. However, there are many things that I want to revisit and challenge. Even if there will be pressure, it would still be good, as this will allow me to enjoy the happiness when I overcome the challenge. If success comes too quickly, then it wouldn’t be meaningful.
How does acting and singing weigh up against each other?
This is hard to say. For singing, as you grow older your voice ages as well. I may not be able to keep up with the music that I want to do. But for acting, there will be acting styles that are suitable even as you grow older. When I reach a certain age, I will be able to challenge roles that are suitable for my age. Therefore, I will continue to act, as well as sing. I don’t know what kind of music I’ll be making in 30 years’ time, but even during that time, I guess I will still want to continue doing music.
Is there a director you would like to work with? And why?
I want to work with Lee Jae Han, who directed the movie “A Moment To Remember.” That was a really good movie, and I even wrote a song for this movie, which is Junsu’s “No Gain.” In the lyrics, it says “The room in my heart is getting smaller” and this was something I wrote based on the script of the movie.
What are your plans for military enlistment?
About enlistment, when it is time for me to go, I’ll go.
What other plans do you have?
After this year, I want to film a new project to meet with everyone. Also, I want to fall in love, and if there is a nice girl, I would like to go on a blind date.
Have you gone on a blind date before?
Twice, but it never worked out. Although I went on the date, but then I found out she was an “idol killer,” and had dated many famous idols before, one after another. That girl is really pretty, very nice and very rich, but once I heard about this, I ended it at once and never saw her again. To me, friendship always comes first. She dated a close friend of mine before, and those friends were hurt by her.
What is your ideal type?
I don’t know, I need to meet more women before I can tell. It’s not just about falling in love, but I want to find someone that I can truly call “my woman.” I don’t like someone like Young Rae, but would prefer someone who reciprocates my feelings. She must be like Young Hwi, who only things about me. If Young Hwi wasn’t a friend but a girl, how great would that be.
When I was younger, I cared a lot more about looks, but now looks are not important at all, and it is what is inside that counts.

[News] 120819 JYJ’s Yoochun Feels Like He’s Known ‘Rooftop Prince’ Costar Han Ji Min For 10 Years
JYJ‘s Yoochun commented on his relationship with ‘Rooftop Prince‘ costar Han Ji Min.
On the August 18th episode of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Entertainment Relay‘, the crew interviewed Han Ji Min on the set of an endorsement shoot. During the ‘Star on Air’ corner of the show, the 10-year-veteran actress was shown a video of responses from the actors who’ve played opposite her.
When the reporter asked how she thought Yoochun had answered, Han Ji Min responded, “That I eat a lot? Or that I’m like a neighborhood nuna he’s known for 10 years?” The reporter then revealed, “Yoochun said, ‘[She’s the best in her field]. [She’s the best to get to know]. I only knew her for 4 months, but I feel like she’s a friend I’ve known for 10 years.’”
Looks like the pair really did get to know each other well. Did you enjoy ‘Rooftop Prince’?

Honestly speaking, I haven’t really heard any JYJ songs. I also had that preconceived idea that “they are just like the other idol singers.” However, from the moment that I watched JYJ in concert, I suddenly felt that “It’s such a pity that I’m the only one watching this concert.”
They wrote their own songs, and the concert was not particularly biased towards performing or singing. While balancing between the two elements, they delivered a well-finished performance with high standards, and this was a truly impressive fact that I saw on site. This is why I felt that it was a pity. I felt, disregarding the issue of influential connections, the inability of JYJ to meet with the audiences via broadcast programs is not a loss to JYJ, but a loss to the viewers.
And it’s precisely because of this that I couldn’t help but ask Kim Jaejoong during the interview, “It’s been a long time that you’ve been unable to appear on music shows. How do you feel as you watch other singers appearing (on programs)?”
Kim Jaejoong paused for a moment, then simply said, “Why would I not want to appear (on programs)?”
I asked him again, “Don’t you wish to appear on broadcasts?”
This time, Kim Jaejoong said, “I do” then started to explain in detail about how he felt.
“After speaking with other juniors, I realise that JYJ is a group with a very special sort of existence. To the juniors, we have become very unique seniors. It’s hard to see us on broadcast programs, so juniors find it fascinating when they happen to see us. When JYJ releases a new album or new songs, our juniors will download the music themselves, and make a special effort to listen to our songs.”
Kim Jaejoong expressed, although he himself is unable to appear on music programs, he has always paid attention to music from his juniors. “My manager is a big fan of Sistar, so I often hear their songs. Their music is good, and Sistar sings very well. In terms of male idols, I think the recent B2st song is pretty good. I watched their “Inkigayo” performance.”
In terms of songwriting, Kim Jaejoong has been hard at work. Although busy with drama filming, he still puts in a lot of effort to write songs, especially when playing the role of Kim Kyung Tak in the MBC weekend drama “Dr Jin.”
When asked if he was inspired by his drama role, he replied, “I wrote many sad songs, but I deleted them all. My role in the drama was too tragic, so I only managed to write very sad songs.”
Kim Jaejoong mentioned, “We are in the midst of preparation, aiming to release a new album in the early part of next year.”
I’ve thought about whether things would have changed for JYJ by then, and even after much thinking, I still feel that it is too much of a pity for me to enjoy a JYJ stage by myself.

This interview is split into 3 parts : the first portion will be about Kim Jaejoong’s acting, then the story of JYJ and Kim Jaejoong, and finally a honest confession of what it is like to be Kim Jaejoong.
The day which we met Kim Jaejoong was really warm, and we would start sweating after walking a few steps. Kim Jaejoong, who has completed the filming of Dr Jin has given up his topknot, and put on a sleeveless top, once again becoming a 26 year old youth. Firstly, he greeted me, saying “Hello, I am Kim Jaejoong.” Looking at how white his complexion is, I doubt he’s the type who could get a tan.
Dr Jin is Kim Jaejoong’s first period drama. He spoke about the fear, unfamiliarity and difficulties he faced in his first challenge. “Because this is the first time (I’m filming a period drama), so I was really nervous, and really scared. I was really, really scared. Before filming started, no one could be sure about how it would turn out, and I did not have the confidence to do it well, so it was very frightening. Thinking back about the things that I did not do well previously made it even worse.”
“It wasn’t an easy role. Kim Kyung Tak had been abandoned by his parents, his friends as well as his love.” Kim Jaejoong spoke, on his opinion about Kim Kyung Tak. “Most of the other characters were fiercely ambitious. Prince Heungseon had great desires, and the ambition of Kim Byung Hee were not little as well. However, to Kyung Tak, he was only focused on one thing – protecting every single person he cared about. He had absolutely no greed. People around him wanted a lot, but all Kyung Tak does is to keep protecting. Everyone else is focused on the empire, but Kyung Tak only looks at those he loves.”
Also, there was quite a bit of crying. “Initially, he gives off a very cold impression, but there are quite a few crying scenes as the story progresses, so filming was difficult. Crying scenes took a lot of effort, and they were really tiring. Although its acting, but being in a continuous state of heartbreak is makes it physically straining.”
There has been some criticism about Kim Kyung Tak’s voice being too loud and powerful, but perhaps it is the fear that he felt towards period dramas that made his voice sound unnatural.
“How am I supposed to handle a period drama role?” “How should I enunciate, how do I act, how do I speak? At the start I felt that since he is a general, he needed to give off an aura of power and leadership, and this was all I was thinking about. As an actor, and someone with absolutely no experience with period dramas, I felt that having a powerful voice would show leadership, but after watching myself act, I started understanding a lot more, and felt that there was more that I could do.”
As a singer-turned-actor, Kim Jaejoong has thrown away those “fixed opinions,” and he has started to realise the differences between the singing and acting stage. “I need to put myself aside, but I couldn’t put away those “fixed opinions”. Maybe it’s because I didn’t start off as an actor, so there are some parts of me that I am unwilling to let go of, and initially I felt that even while acting, there is a need to keep a handsome image. I did not realise that it is only when you manage to put yourself aside, do you become truly handsome. “
While acting in Protect the Boss, “I regretted not being able to put my own personality aside more, and this is probably a problem that all singer-turned-actors including myself, face. While on stage, we try our best to show of a cool side of our own personalities to satisfy the audience. But acting is not the same, and it is the thought process that really counts. But it is really difficult to put these old habits aside. It is easy to hide your flaws, but to give up on your strengths is really hard. However, the more you manage to put your image aside, the more you are able to get into character. In the future, I must put my own image aside more.
There are some that compliment Kim Jaejoong on his acting, and there have been seniors that said, “He cannot be praised.” Kim Jaejoong agrees with this. “To be, it’s better to get scolded. I have a strong desire to prove myself to those who have a lot to say about me because of my looks.”
To be able to take an objective point of view, and admit to your shortcomings is something that takes a lot of courage. Therefore, Kim Jaejoong’s courage has left a deep impression on me. Kim Jaejoong said, “How do I rate my own acting?” “I will be thankful as long as viewers feel that I have improved.”
Also, he talks about his small ambitions with regards to being an actor. “I don’t have to play the main role, but I would like to act in a broader range of roles. It doesn’t matter even if it isn’t the main role. And I also want to try acting in plays. I’ve only done singing and dancing in front of an audience, so I would like to attempt acting as well. “

[Trans] 10asia: Park Yoochun – The Power Of Snow That’s Accumulating Quietly
‘You are indeed very fair-skinned’. The comment that naturally came out from the impression of his ramyun CF after meeting Park Yoochun. Apart from that, though filled with curiosity and desire to know, he is currently not yet tied down to a fixed image. As an actor, no matter what work he is getting ready to draw out, he will always give a ‘whitish’ impression. (T/N: clean image i.e.) Between the youthful smile and the manly shoulders, there was no clear definition of the immaturity and maturity. However after the last episode of SBS’s ‘Rooftop Prince’, he is no longer the new canvas that needs to be painted on. Putting aside the portions where he is capable of completing, this new actor was able to create scenes immediately where veterans might not be able to do so. The last scene, incident and story was able to bring upon the future development resulted from the past. Even so, Park Yoochun still remain as ‘white’ and not other colours. The ‘pure white’ thinking he possessed is just like a night of snowfall, it quietly covers up the inadequate footsteps and used its deep and solid power to fine-tune its weapon.
Amongst the singer-born new actors, to grade Park Yoochun’s distinct acting with an objective view, is his way of narrating without the correct answers to convince the judge. To actors, if he is unhappy with the technique after training, it shows that though his acting is of a beginner status but as an actor who takes on the character convincingly, Park Yoochun is one who amazingly able to find a fast track and understood the theory naturally. Be it in be Lee Sun Joon of KBS ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’ or Song Yuhyun of MBC ‘Miss Ripley’, he presented the result within the boundaries. With his refreshing acting, the viewers are able to feel the ‘motherly-love’ for these characters even if it forbids the common worldly concerns. Park Yoochun’s acting convinced the viewers and made them acknowledged the improving drama. However to those who are unable to understand this point, the criteria for the reviews of Park Yoochun’s portrayal of characters and works, would also definitely be different. Han Ji Min’s comment of “He is unexpectedly a good actor” is obviously a compliment but on the other hand it is also a kind of game out of mandatory. Overthrowing these prejudices, we will realised there are no ambiguous reviews against Park Yoochun. Agreement or disagreement, it all depends on the person’s point-of-view.
To the viewers, rom-com ‘Rooftop Prince’ is a way to understand Park Yoochun’s acting style and common supporting point. The many aspects of a drama, such as probability and theory, the digestion of a character and tempo etc, could be the underlying reasons for a failure. However the time-traveling eternal love theme was completely portrayed. One brilliancy is able to overcome the rest of the inadequacy. Not only this, for the important love story, the whimsical plot and popular lines were made alive by the actors. Lee Gak’s love was displayed through Park Yoochun’s gaze, Park Yoochun’s voice and Park Yoochun’s wholehearted portrayal. The speed and supporting points of both actors and the highlights of the work were on par, bringing light to the last scene of the 20th episode with accumulation of strength throughout the lengthy filming.
“I already felt the writer’s sincerity when I was reading the script,” Park Yoochun’s true words aren’t just for formality. The determination to become an actor who can display a variety of 120 degrees is very convincing and trustworthy. Understanding the character with freedom and at ease, and coupled with the prerequisites that no one else had, the anticipation for Park Yoochun increased.
Therefore Park Yoochun is the new actor that makes one flustered and yet the hope that make people anticipates. Meeting at a convergence point, exerting the same strength. And lastly, abandoning the plain water-like greenness and the mystery of new snow falling, wishing for a future filled with curiosity.
The determination to present an actor of 120 points
A lot of self-reviews used for his own acting is, ‘Natural’ and this is one of the noteworthy point. Through the scripts, he naturally felt its charisma, naturally blend in with the character and naturally answered his co-actors’ acting. To him, being natural is neither the returning of living realistically nor a way of straightforward acting. It is a way of truly understanding the character’s behaviour and totally taking in the work. It is not a complex drawing to understand the characters, but through ‘the weighing of Lee Gak’s sincerity and firmness’ to determine the combination of both or to decide ‘If it would be better to recede from the character Lee Gak and to impersonate Yong Tae Yong through Lee Gak’s acting”. A natural conclusion from such a process. Park Yoochun who took an unique route and reached the destination, gaining points in this war. If he were to take his route the ‘theoretically-correct’ way through guidance from the satellite, he would probably be not be as freely and be tied down for the next war.
Received a lot of consolation from ‘Rooftop Prince’ Lee Gak
The scene is still as though it is yesterday. The filming of the drama started at the same time as JYJ’s overseas concert tour, together with the settling of the pain from father’s passing, it seems naturally that he came back for filming till the end of the whole drama. Just like a child, only towards the ending of the drama schedules that we saw the exhausted look on Park Yoochun. But just like a lie, at the start of the story of the drama, Park Yoochun also started a new life. He smiled to a room of reporters and jokingly said, “Ah, it was something interesting, that’s why I said it.” He also enthusiastically revealed the funny episodes that happened and then saying that wasn’t true. The personality where he would indulged in for something interesting. Be it on stage or the talent as a genius in drama, it is not a grand all-kill technique. That energy to attract all attention, it can be felt throughout the interview venue. The happiness throughout the drama filming and the conversation with cheerful Park Yoochun who smiled while chit-chatting, though it was such simplicity, his straightforward answers made it all so truthfully.
As the drama was decided in a live-shoot system (T/N: film as they broadcast), it’s worth celebrating to complete 20 episodes successfully. When I read the scripts for episode 19 and 20, I can sense the writer’s sincerity towards his wife who passed away very well and it helped me a lot in my acting. Therefore I did wonder if it was due to this reason that the viewers’ ratings was able to take a turn for the better in the end.
– Are you very happy that the ratings had a very good ending?
I, myself, is not too concerned with the ratings. From my point of view, maybe it’s because I injected a lot more love into this work than the others. And I was touched from this work itself, and also was very happy that this work was able to complete well.
– What’s your reason for choosing this piece of work?
Simply that it is interesting. As the script is interesting, I did not even read about the character’s analysis. Just from the the two episodes of scripts that I took, I read it over lunch and felt that Lee Gak is a very charismatic character. That very night I decided to act in this piece of work and started filming right after that.
– There was not enough time to prepare before filming, so you seems to have a hard time with Lee Gak’s accent?
The decision was done just 4-5 days before filming thus it was very urgent. Rather than coming up with Lee Gak’s personalised accent, I am in a situation where I needed a change. Because, if we’re to continue maintaining Lee Gak’s Joseon crown prince image in front of others, it won’t be able to relay well to viewers the feeling of detachment from modern Seoul. From Lee Gak’s point of view, while constantly thinking of the remoteness and fear, the change will happen naturally. Everytime he will meet with people who speaks modern language, this situation will made him feel very awkward.
– The collaboration with other co-actors made you naturally had the accent. Though there were changes to the accent, in order to create the comedic effect with the trio, Lee Gak has to maintain this sincerity.
Regarding those, as there was no time to discuss with them beforehand, therefore the effects can only be created on the spot through mutual cooperation while filming. While rehearsing, emotions can be controlled. Especially during the 1st two episodes, due to those parts, the filming duration was extended. However because of the good collaboration with the trio and good adaption to Lee Gak, thus there was no sense of uneasiness. After getting used to it, the adaption with Lee Gak also got better.
– In the end, Lee Gak was not over-shadowed by the trio gang. And thus “three-generations extermination”-like script lines appeared, making its comedic effect. The joint forces of two different genres – drama and comedy, how do you adjust it?
Regarding the genre, it was not differentiated on purpose. Just simply drawing out Lee Gak’s sincerity and stern image. Therefore I have never thought of whether is it due to the situation that makes it funny or Lee Gak’s acting that is comical. Because I always think of myself as Lee Gak, no matter if it’s for preparation for the situation or for better adaption into the character.
– Han Ji Min ever mentioned in an interview that, “Park Yoochun did not calculate a lot about his acting, he is a good actor” and I’m not calculative about how much he can do.
In fact during all the drama filming, there would be situations whereby some things can or cannot be done, or when sleep is not enough but you still have to familiarize yourself with the script. Under such circumstances, one have to use that instantaneous force to carry on filming. If, for example, under such circumstances and without any calculation, then that would be result of good collaboration between actors. In order to get good feedback from the live broadcast, we were helping each other’s acting with everyone focusing.
– In order for that instantaneous force, focus is mandatory. During the beginning of the drama, JYJ was having concert tour too, and other issues such as the traffic accident or personal matters. It seems tough for you to put yourself in completely for the filming.
During the previous drama MBC’s ‘Miss Ripley’, I was still unwillingly under the pressure from KBS’s ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’. I felt the pressure in the beginning and slowly my self-confidence diminished. Therefore, I did thought of giving up in the midst of filming, but I overcome that in the end. I ‘planted’ that problem after all. Therefore, my burden for this drama was lightened. I did not really have the determination to do it really well. To the extent that I did not even think of the ratings. I just naturally got myself indulged in the drama. It’s the best this way.
– Due to the saeguk part in the beginning, others might compare this with ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’. Honestly, it aroused curiosity as to whether you are able to shake off that drama’s image.
Lee Sun Joon and Lee Gak seems to be two complete different characters due to the difference in status, therefore, no doubt believed they have the same character image. Because of such thinking, I felt at ease. But no matter Lee Sun Joon or ‘Miss Ripley’ Song Yuhyun, I used a gentle tone for the lines. At first I had wanted to grasp the ambiance, however, I felt that it’s not good enough for a stern ambiance. Thus, I adjust the strength of the tone and to the extent of breathing practice. As for the tone ending, I focused on it and this way, it’s closer to being Lee Gak.
– While establishing the leader image, you have to face the impact of crown princess’s death right in the beginning. Was it difficult to get into the character’s emotions?
(No,) On the contrary, it felt more convenient. Upon knowing crown princess’s death, I just had to use anger and grief. This kind of portrayal is in fact easier. After that, at the same time with the arrival in Seoul, the emotions turned complicated. Even when meeting the reincarnated Se Na. But, right after acting, I’m not sure if it is due to the lessening of stress, even when I felt difficult, I was still able to go through with my acting calmly. Burden was lessened too, and so turning acting into an enjoyment.
– You said on Twitter that you anticipate the character Lee Gak and wrote thankful notes. Did the indulging in the troubles of acting relieve all the other troubles that you had?
This too. It’s not as if emotions can be come as quickly during filming. In fact, the return to the filming site after my father’s funeral was not an easy thing. But there were too many scenes of mine and there’s the responsibility that I shouldn’t give up this piece of work that I chose, therefore, I felt that I should return to the filming site. At the same time I was troubled. How am I supposed to smile with my feelings at that time? However, when I reached the filming site, there were people who consoled me and those who worried that I would feel burdened if they consoled me and thus tried to talk to me as per usual. I gradually returned back to my normal life and started to relieve my heavy heart. It was only after the drama ended that I realised I received so much consolation from the actors and staff through the character Lee Gak. Even for those who accidentally consoled me, every single thing became a consolation to me.
– I know you shed a lot of tears during the last filming. Though it was from Lee Gak, there should be tears from Park Yoochun’s feelings, right?
Though during the period of time the camera was working, I teared as Lee Gak totally, but during the last scene filming, it was chaotic on the scene. Suddenly as Yong Tae Yong, and suddenly, “Yoochun ah, go changed your clothes and come!”, “Yes!”, and then quickly changed into Lee Gak and filmed again. It was such situation that there was no time to get into the character totally. Everyone just want to watch the broadcast quickly (laughs). Nonetheless, during the last moment, I did teared as Park Yoochun.
– There were many explanations for the ending. What’s your interpretation?
It’s 100% Yong Tae Yong. Though I felt that he would not have any memories of Lee Gak, but if we’re to differentiate Lee Gak and Yong Tae Yong too much, it would be too desolate for the rest of Park Ha’s life. Therefore, I hope to leave a bit of reincarnation feel. It’s the same when Yong Tae Yong and Park Ha met at the cafe, the script described it as “totally unrecognizable”. But after communication with the director, the feeling changed a bit. Therefore, though Lee Gak’s look was an imagination, it relayed the feel of this work through something realistic. If your beloved one left, you will never see him/her again. Therefore, the term ‘reincarnation’ represents the deep-hearted yearning, pain and sadness. These could be the reason why I didn’t cry while acting as Yong Tae Yong but as Lee Gak.
– Not only the last scene, in the later half of the drama, the different portrayals of Yong Tae Yong, Lee Gak who impersonates Yong Tae Yong and Lee Gak were pretty excellently done.
Due to the consideration on how to portray these parts, it seems even more interesting. It end up helping in establishing Lee Gak’s character. After becoming Lee Gak well, it seems effective for the display of Lee Gak impersonating Yong Tae Yong. However, during the portrayal of Yong Tae Yong, due to the insufficient time, Lee Gak who have to continue impersonating, had to keep up with the modern way of speaking. With the new problem arising, Lee Gak who is impersonating Yong Tae Yong did not seem indifferent while talking to Tae Mu. Thus, wearing of spectacles became the way to differentiate the two. Meeting up with Park Ha was also the way to relate the two. Wearing the spectacles will be Yong Tae Yong and removing it will be Lee Gak, it has to be differentiated. Impersonating Yong Tae Yong under such whirlwind circumstances, it looks like there should be a way to represent the (Lee Gak and Tae Mu’s) opposition. The soul was not able to be filled up well, therefore it was kinda regretful. I did consider adding the action of pushing up spectacles but as the photoshopped photo of ‘Detective Conan’ was circulating, I gave up in order not to let others think that I am mimicking (laughs).
– It seems that due to the plot, you are to express it as per your wish. As compared to previous works, your acting this time was shown without restrictions. Was it due to love?
I really felt a lot of happiness in this work through a freer performance. No description but just script lines, it ended my desire to further understand how to unleash myself. Director trusted me and hoped that I can release it all out. I later on realised again the joy of performing. As it was not known in a structured way, I felt even more at ease. In fact besides the scripts and even after broadcast, a lot of chances were made and therefore there were a lot more ad-lib performances. Especially in the scenes where I met with the trio gang, the ad-lib performances were over-flowing.
– Though the things experienced were different as an actor, they were experiences not felt as a singer, as all along you are presented as a group on stage.
As a singer, there were times where I can freely display while standing realistically on stage, especially when it was enjoyed as a group with the members. However, the condition to enjoy this kind of freedom situation was insufficient. As I was able to remove the desire in other regions at that time, I was very happy. Realising that in order to exert so freely, it needed life experiences after all. When an actor starts to be into his character and hooked up with his life experiences, it’s as though the portrayal can be retrieved (from experiences) easily. The scene at the pond where I was carrying Park Ha and shouting, I actually experienced that before, thus I was able to display it out. This is a work where I can relay to many incidents with my own feelings. I felt quite lucky regarding this, it’s like a blessing as an actor.
– You like the way you can perform and breathe freely as an actor and thus worked very hard for this. I’ve heard that you made effort to create a happy environment at the filming site.
Making effort to finish a thing in order to reach the target, and then returning back to the filming site and felt the responsibility. As I passionately love it, it naturally turned out that way. I have to visit 70-80 filming sites in a week and thus cannot find where I belonged. I did thought of being more relaxed and not so restrained, therefore I became closer with other actors and thus don’t have to be too careful and mind-straining. And also other actors took great care of me and trusted me. We helped each other. Especially Han Ji Min nuna, she accepted my ad-lib performances during rehearsals and trusted me. Because of her, I was able to act out naturally and thus shared my view on Park Ha’s character. Under such situation, it was able to lead Lee Gak.
– The accumulation of those trust, was there a common ground that you shared?
I did not feel anything during rehearsal for that scene at the ending of episode 19, but after looking at how Ji Min nuna reacted, all my emotions rushed up at once. I am originally the kind who would not even cry while watching a melodrama movie. But after looking at nuna at that moment, I thought a lot and at that moment, I felt that it was the same feeling I had when I let slip of my father and felt very very sorry. With such pain, I unknowingly teared. I used to not able to cry at such scene. While filming in such emotions, even though (I) was disappearing but yet smiled saying, “It’s okay, it’s okay”. Holding each others’ hand, still able to hear each other but hands and body were vanishing, the lost feeling when the person vanished with the wind. I was supposed to focus right when the hands starts vanishing and at the same time I kept thinking, if I am able to relay the correct feeling with such reactions. At that time I really felt the joy of a good acting an actor can perform.
– During the filming of this drama, you are able to cry along with your growing responsibility. It seems to become your merit and at the same time discovery of many precious moments.
Ah, this… this is not a merit. I think the scene where I am even more satisfied is the scene where I first kissed Park Ha. Lee Gak teared at that moment. Many people were astonished and so does the staff at that scene. However, I felt that the confession from Lee Gak to Park Ha was unlike a pair of usual couple where one had a crush on the other for a long time. It was the decision to give up Joseon, it’s the determination to be together and yet do not know how to express it. I think this is the reason why I decided to tear.
– You said in the past interviews that you hope to act a character engaging in psychological-war. Good acting is to train you to be even more professional. As compared, it doesn’t seems to be a bad idea.
Developing strength and receiving strong points, therefore, I wish to act in a more multifaceted character. I am still having the desire to act an extreme character as a psycho-killer. Maybe it’s because I enjoyed the acting this time and thus began to worry for the choice of the next work. I am now still searching for a good pivot point and it seems troubling. But I will overcome this extreme difficulty. It would be of great help to me if I find the answer.
– So, what theme would be good for your next choice of work?
I personally am okay with character that is younger than 20 years old, I still want to act in those pure innocent crush or sad love drama. But as I aged, I would want to be like outstanding veterans who would not give a care about the make-up or the focus of entry. Just the skill of acting will do. Though it’s a moment of acting that you all saw, it was actually an outright performance by someone. I want to be 100% like that, no, 120%. To be such a person is my target.
– You reap what you sow. It seems that you will get a big return in this year’s award show. It will be great that you received the new actor award from the three broadcasting company. (smiles)
I felt so happy at the thought of able to sit together with fellow actors during the award show. After the filming ended, due to other schedules, I have been busy and was able to meet up with Tae Sung hyung for a while only. It’s a pity that we are not able to meet frequently. It will be such a joy to gather everyone together. I am already starting to anticipate
In conclusion, this work is convincing.
This is as though overseeing an amateur golfer putting his first ball into the hole. From technical parts like enunciation, vocal, breathing to acting route etc. Though Park Yoochun is still a new actor, his resume can not be hidden. His attitude is different too. As his way of ‘hitting’ (the ball) is not yet matured, you have no idea when he will hit the ball into the sand pit. He is such a player that worries those who are watching. However, he is an experience professional who would not yield to others’ command and is someone who put aside the competitiveness to enjoy the competition. Maybe at times Park Yoochun was unable to finish some technical things, but gained his victory from the viewers through sensibility. If we’re to scrutinize the lines and script, the trouble when Lee Gak just ‘time-travelled’ from Joseon to Seoul and the palpitating emotions when falling in love with Park Ha, were sufficiently relayed. Although he was not an outstanding actor, he was an actor who display outstanding acting, different from actors who developed at a normal pace.
