“Very Sweet”

Photos of Kang Hae Jung and Park Yoochun’s cozy flower shop date have been released.

In the upcoming episode of MBC’s Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Miss Ripley’, Park Yoochun and Kang Hae Jung will be seen outside a flower shop, smiling shyly as they look at the blooming flowers.

Photos of the scene were pre-released and portray the situation in which Moon Hui Joo(Kang Hae Jung) looks at the various flowers outside a flower shop as she feels depressed, only to be joined by Song Yoo Hyun(Park Yoochun) who happens to drive by in his car. He speaks kind words to her and offers her a pot of flowers, eliciting a bright smile from her as they engage in a surprise date.

The production company stated, “Though this is the first production in which Park Yoochun and Kang Hae Jung have worked together, they showcased great chemistry as both are talented and experienced actors,” and “As the two actors have bright and pure personalities, they are able to portray their characters perfectly. Please anticipate the innocent and pure moments that will be shared between Park Yoochun and Kang Hae Jung.“

News 110531 JYJ’s LA Pre-Concert Fan Meetup Prove’s Group’s success

[News] 110531 JYJ’s LA Pre-Concert Fan Meetup Proves Group’s Success

The success and popularity of JYJ has once again proven itself, as seen in the number of fans that gathered before the group’s recent Los Angeles concert. The concert took place on Friday, May 27, and lasted from 8PM to 10PM at the Nokia Theatre.

A pre-concert fan meetup was originally planned by DBSK fansite DBSKnights, but was cancelled due to lack of space to accommodate the estimated 300+ attendees. Another DBSK fansite saved the meetup by moving it to Nokia Plaza. There, fans began to gather at 2PM, enthusiastically introducing themselves to each other.

As the hours passed, fans took pictures, made new friends, got hyped up for the concert, and even did flashmobs! A number of fansites also gave away bracelets, light sticks and signs for Cassies to use during the concert. A red ocean slowly formed as more fans trickled in while decked out in DBSK merchandise. By 7PM, the meetup had swelled to over 250 people.

According to the official Facebook event for JYJ’s concert, “JYJ’s concert tour will create an unimaginable experience and compelling atmosphere that fans from all over the world and of all ages can enjoy. Their fans will finally get a chance to witness JYJ’s grandeur debut in the U.S and Canada.”

Such a claim held true as fans from Hawaii, China and even England flew in to see the singers perform. Audience members ranged from teens to aunties, as well as a number of avid fanboys. Junsu’s father, JYJ’s friends John Egg, and previous MC of the JYJ showcase Shane Yoon also showed up to show their support. John Egg stopped by the meetup to take a few pictures, exciting the surprised fans.

Four aunties from four different nationalities (America, Taiwan, Japan and Korea) drew a great amount of attention as they showed off their DBSK pride. Lily, Ayumi, Christin and Lindsey had met at the Las Vegas and Los Angeles JYJ showcases, and become friends since then. They wore matching black boas to show their connection to one another.

They had discovered JYJ through websites like Youtube and Wikipedia. One of the ladies often visited a Korean drama recap site, where she discovered Yoochun’s “Sungkyunkwan Scandal.” She saw that “Yoochun and his group” was often referenced, so she googled DBSK and discovered a “huge amount of information” on them. Through Wikipedia, she read about the Mirotic lyrics controversy, which led her to YouTube, where she watched the Mirotic music video. At that point, she was sold.

When asked who their favorite member was, many replied, “Jaejoong!” with a familiar dreamy look on their face. But one aunty admitted that she liked Changmin because he is “good-looking and funny.”

Despite their older age, the women’s enthusiasm matched many of the younger fans there. Christen even confessed that she had gone to all three JYJ showcases and two JYJ concerts.

The four ladies showed their burning dedication with their message to JYJ. “Always Keep the Faith! We will fight for you. Don’t give up.”

Are you impressed by the amount of support JYJ’s fans are showing?

Translation 110530 ‘World Tour’ JYJ “We Are Getting…

[Translation] 110530 ‘World Tour’ JYJ, “We Are Getting Stronger As More Time Passes”

JYJ, who started their two-month long worldwide tour in Bangkok, Thailand, revealed their thoughts on their remaining two performances.

Kim Jaejoong, who acted as the Director for the Asia leg of the tour, stated, “I worked hard to make it a stage where the singers’ abilities are better showcased,” and “I worked especially hard on understanding each city’s incorporated culture and tried to find a way to communicate with each location’s fans in the most effective way possible. Because the ideas in my head came true at each performance, I was happy to share moving and electrifying moments with our fans and I’m thankful to all the people who came to watch our performances.”

Kim Junsu stated, “In our US performances, we’re working with the best teams in the world, people who have choreographed for Beyoncé and Christina Aguilera,” and “The best moments are when our dance team gives us thumbs-ups at the end of our performances and when the staff compliment our live skills and tell us we harmonize perfectly. As these staff members have worked with global pop stars, I feel as though their praises have more weight and meaning to them and it makes me happy because I can feel our potential through their words.“

Park Yoochun said, “We are getting stronger as more time passes. I can feel that we are growing in a positive direction,” and “I feel such an overwhelming pride for our world tour, which becomes more structured and perfected as we perform more.”

JYJ will be completing the North American leg of their world tour in San Jose on June 3rd and will hold their grand finale in Busan on June 11th and 12th.

CEO Baek Chang Joo of C-JeS Entertainement stated, “The Busan concerts were completely sold out in 15 minutes after ticket reservations opened on Friday. For the domestic fans who have been waiting for JYJ, we have been positively considering additional encore performances.”

Trans 110602 CODE V Says “The Second TVXQ…

[Trans] 110602 CODE-V Says, “The Second TVXQ? We Will Surpass Rather Than Imitate” “The second TVXQ? Though that is an honor, we want to surpass them with our skills.”

Five-member vocal group CODE-V have an interesting and surprising charm. Though they are an idol group in appearance, they are actually a talented vocal group. Different from other rookie groups who are awkward at first, this group is confident and actively engaged.

While introducing their title song, they asked, “Do you want to listen to us sing?” and immediately began singing in a capella, their hidden card, on the spot. They even imitated the voices of other stars and said, “We have tens of imitations we’ve been practicing for variety shows.”

(omitted)

◆”The Second TVXQ in Japan? It’s because we sing a capella”

Though they are not well-known in Korea, they are making their mark as Hallyu stars in Japan. Since their debut, CODE-V has been receiving a steady stream of love calls from K-POP fans in Japan. In a survey titled ‘The Korean group whose Japanese debut you most anticipate’, they beat famous singers and came out on top.

CODE-V garnered the attention of Japanese fans as the first vocally talented group from Korea since TVXQ. As CODE-V consists of five members who sing a capella together, they are called ‘The Second TVXQ’ as they resemble TVXQ in the beginning stages of their debut.

“It seems as though Japanese fans think we are like TVXQ in many ways. What makes us similar to TVXQ is that all five members have strong vocals and sing a capella together, though we participated in promotional activities with a dance number. We like TVXQ and respect them. But we’d rather surpass them and show off our own color rather than just imitate them.“

One member spoke up and said, “When TVXQ split, some of their fans became our fans,” while another member, Sol, said, “In Korea, people tell me that I look like KCM but in Japan, they say I look like YoungWoong Jaejoong. When we go out to eat, some people mistake us for TVXQ.” When we joked and said that, ‘These are dangerous sayings that may increase the number of anti fans you have,’ they evaded taking on the responsibility for their words in a cute manner as they said, “These aren’t the thoughts of all five of our members.”

Translation 110603 Junsu’s Brother Junho Deletes His Twitter…

[Translation] 110603 Junsu’s Brother Junho Deletes His Twitter Account

T/N: These are Junho’s last tweets before he deleted his account today. As you can see from the mentions he has given to some of Junsu’s fans who criticized him, the hateful tweets he received from those against him (and for some, his decision to work with Avex) had a great impact on him, leading to the deletion of his Twitter account.]

I believe that the negative responses of some JYJ fans were probably a part of Junho’s decision, but not all of his decisionmaking was about the fans. After all, he is Junsu’s brother. Their family is a strong family. However, I do believe that as fans we have a responsibility to be kind and understanding to our guy’s families.

Junho is busy, and probably finds it hard keeping up with Twitter. It is sad because that closes off one channel of communication he had with Junsu.  He also says that he tends to dwell on things people say–so he is wise to eliminate the account so that he can relax and function. He is an adult and has made his own decision to be with Avex. I wish him the best and lots of love.
Momma Cha

(Junho) @joni588 I just want to say one thing to you. Though I am grateful that you love and worry about my little brother, I do not believe that I think and worry about my little brother any less than you do. I, too, always pray that things will turn out well and my heart aches so much when a problem arises. I just want you to know that my decision (to work with Avex) was not one that I made thinking only of my own success.

(Junho) @zinnie06 You say that I faulted fans.. Where in my tweets did you get that impression? To you, I am a person who always causes harm to my little brother. I apologize for being such a person.

(Junho) I’m thinking of deleting my Twitter account because I think I’ll feel better if I don’t tweet in Korean anymore. Will me stopping my tweets like this make those who spoke ill of me become genial? If I just give up everything, would that make things run smoothly for them(JYJ)? I don’t know either. This situation wears me out as I can’t tell you everything about what’s going on..

(Junho) I’m so sorry to the people who have shown me their support till now. From now on, I’ll work hard and not let my mind wander to other things. I think I gained a lot of strength from your support when I tweeted while I was traveling overseas. I would like to thank you all once more. Thank you all, and I love you. Take care of your health.

(Junho) I’m not deleting this account because I’m scared of those tweets or because I’m avoiding them. I started this account knowing that things like this would definitely happen because I work in this particular industry. Because I read each and every mention that I receive and because I keep reading such tweets, I keep thinking about them and I find myself unable to concentrate, so I laid down this decision in order to completely immerse myself in my work.

(Junho) I am still such a small presence in this life. I’ll be on the same level as others only if I work harder than them as I started my career much later. From now on, I’m going to do nothing but focus on my work. I’m always short on time anyway. I will keep the hearts of those who have supported me till now in my heart and focus on my work completely without thinking of anything else. I will keep working and working hard.

(Junho) Last of all, I would like to apologize once more to the fans of Junsu who have had a hard time because of my decision. I believe that you will protect my little brother till the end. Take care of your health and be happy.

Translation: Sooman Lee, Sewon Seo are Key Figures in Investigation on Corruption in Entertainment Industry

[Translation] Sooman Lee, Sewon Seo are Key Figures in Investigation on Corruption in Entertainment Industry Returned after Fleeing

Posted on May 21, 2011 by The JYJ Files
(Note: for related articles that precede this one, please visit this post.)

June 10, 2003

Sooman Lee and Sewon Seo, key suspects in the investigation on corruption in the entertainment business, who brought the investigation to a standstill when they fled the country and were subsequently placed on Interpol’s Wanted List, finally returned to Korea. Thus, people expected that the case, which had been suspended for six month, would resume, but the result came to nothing. Sewon Seo had delayed a summons of the Prosecutor’s Office on grounds of poor health, and Sooman Lee, who was summoned right after his re-entry, was allowed to go back home in a day. Although the Public Prosecutor, for now, states that his office will decide whether or not to issue a warrant for Sooman Lee and Sewon Seo’s arrest after going through the enormous amount of data received and further investigation, the case seems to be closed without any further pursuit.

Why request a place on Interpol’s Wanted list if they will release suspects in a day?

On the 22nd of last month, Sooman Lee, the principal shareholder of SM Entertainment, entered Korea quite confidently surrounded by ten bodyguards after being arrested at Incheon International Airport. This quite contrasted with Sewon Seo’s entry, carried by gurney as he was trying to hide his face. Sooman Lee headed to the Seoul District Public Prosecutors’ Office after asserting his innocence. One day after the entry of Sooman Lee, the serious crime squad of the Seoul District Public Prosecutor’s Office (HongIl Kim, chief prosecutor) announced that for now they would send Sooman Lee home, and then will decide whether or not to issue an arrest warrant for Sooman Lee after conducting further investigation. The Public Prosecutor’s explanation for sending Sooman Lee home was that, because SM’s lawyer has completely denied the suspicion of Sooman Lee by providing enormous amount of data, such as receipts, the Prosecution had to do more corroborative investigation. The public cannot understand how Sooman Lee could be sent home in a day after being wanted by Interpol while he had long been escaped in the US. The investigation of the entertainment business’s corruption that heated up the public last year solves nothing and just leaves people with many suspicions. In the beginning, the investigation confidently planned to go through the whole entertainment business’s corruption, embezzlement, stock price manipulation, an influx of funds from organized criminal gangs, an illegal capital for public relations, and sexual bribes. However, the outcome is inadequate. While the Prosecutor’s Office went through the humiliation of having the chief prosecutor replaced in the middle of the investigation, they stated that if Sooman Lee and Sewon Seo would return to Korea, the Prosecutor’s Office can achieve tangible results. In August of last year, the Prosecution dismissed an indictment of Sooman Lee, and this year, 14th January, Lee was placed on Interpol’s Wanted list and the Prosecution revealed the strong will to investigate this case. However, Sooman Lee’s returning to Korea ended up with just a day of investigation.

Many suspicions so far, and Sooman Lee’s insistence

At the time of last year’s investigation, the charges against Lee are listed below.
First of all, he was suspected of profit-taking in KOSDAQ by adopting an expedient. By this expedient, the prosecution assumed that Lee pulled in approximately $13,000,000 by stock of SM entertainment. In addition to Sooman Lee’s suspicion of earning ten million of margin profit from the merger with 4M Entertainment’s training agency which costs $50,000, Lee was also under suspicion of taking $3,000,000 of cash income by selling stock of KOSDAQ in May of last year.
However, the prosecution had been more focused on the investigation on the embezzlement which occurred in the company. Especially, in August of 1999, the Public Prosecutor stated that Lee had embezzled $1,100,000 in the form of foreign payment of capital which was embezzled in the process to increase capital. The Prosecution said they were investigating the use of the $1,100,000.
The problem is that while Lee stayed abroad, Kyeongwook Kim, an executive of SM entertainment, was indicted for those crimes in Lee’s stead, but he was acquitted to part of those crimes. Thus, the indictment on Lee could only become more complicated.
Last year, the investigation on entertainment corruption was launched based on allegations of “PR fees”(T/N: Euphemism for bribes, including those of a sexual nature). The whole investigation was started by one NGO group, Solidarity Groups for the Reform of Popular Music (i.e. DKR), which reported the practice of entertainment companies exchanging “PR fees”. After that report, the Prosecutor’s Office said that they would investigate the PR fees related to SM entertainment. However, as the investigation proceeded, the issue of PR fees gradually disappeared, and the Prosecution did not even mention PR fees when they recently summoned Lee.
Last year, during the investigation, our newspaper revealed a list of SM Entertainment’s stockholders. In the list, financial firm _____’s Lee chairman had 6,000 shares, Pastor Choi had 40,200 shares, and other entertainers and representatives of broadcast stations were also on the list. For this reason, based on the stockholders’ list, Prosecutors suspected high instances of bribery in the form of PR fees between the entertainment world and the political world.

The investigation related PR fees make a slow progress

The most unsatisfying part about this investigation from the point of view of the entertainment industry is the loss of focus on PR fees. This bribery issue was the most important part in last year’s investigation, and everyone had expected that this investigation of the entertainment industry could be a turning point for reforming the practice of PR fees which had been the reasonable custom so far. However, the prosecution actually failed to disclose the true nature of this bribery. Therefore, when Sooman Lee, and Sewon Seo, who were the key suspects of the investigation, returned to Korea, people expected the Prosecutor’s Office to proceed into the inquiry on PR fees. However, the actual prosecution’s investigation focused on the manipulation of stock or embezzlement. These parts could be the tangible accomplishments for the Prosecutor’s Office, but these would not help the basic structural reform of the entertainment business world. Cultural Action and DKR, the non-government organizations which did demonstration against Sooman Lee, insisted that “the Prosecution’s investigation is essential to construct a transparent structure for the entertainment industry”. The organizations also asserted that “we express our concern over the slow progress of the investigation that had been proceeding since last year.” Especially about the part on PR fees, the Chairman of DKR stated that “the slow process of the investigation is a shame. It appears that the investigators did not even consider our report” (related reference in his interview)
Lee has denied all suspicions put on him. He explained about the embezzlement in the company that “I embezzle nothing. I already submitted related data to the prosecution last week. He also asserted his innocence of price-taking by selling stock saying that “How can I make the profit even when I did not sell the stock? There was no advantage of selling stock because the stock price had dropped at the time.” Seong Il Baek, a lawyer of Sooman Lee, already passed an enormous amount of data to the Prosecution, and he still keeps providing additional data.

Continue to suspect Lee’s capability to be well informed

In the contrast to the prosecution’s attitude near the start of the investigation, they sent Sooman Lee home in one day as Lee submitted related data.
Therefore, the prosecution is being denounced by the public for their incapability to make a clear and obvious result of the investigation. As a result, the prosecution suddenly became the target of denouncement for making an abrupt decision before they made an agenda; the abrupt decisions such as dismissal of the indictment, requesting the assistance of Interpol, and nullifying Lee’s passport. Besides, between reporters, who cover the process of questioning Sooman Lee, there were already some suspicions that the Public Prosecutor was going to finish the case without any results. The Prosecution’s will to investigate further seemed weak. In this whole process, there is some suspicion about Lee’s personal connections and his capability of gathering information. Because Lee went to Kyung Bok high school and Seoul National University where many graduates are now influential legal/judicial circles now, people are speculating that Lee received information secretly from his alumnus right before leaving Korea. People also assume that there could be some pressure from Lee’s alumnus to finish the investigation on Lee in just one day.
About this, Dong Yeon Lee, a chairman of DKR, said that “a plea written by Lee’s alumnus appears to have been quite effective.”
There are three possibilities in the entertainment world now. First, the investigation itself was lacking in substance. Second, the Prosecutor’s Office was inadequate to dig up the truth. Third, there could be external pressure from third parties to help Sooman Lee out of the investigation.
So far, this investigation summoned the largest number of related persons and proceeded in the widest scope. However, the investigation lasted for one year seems ineffective to reform the wrong custom such as PR fees in the entertainment world.

Gee, it’s a wonder that KBS and all the other national broadcast outlets in SK don’t ban all of SM’s activities and participation on their shows pending an outcome of the investigation, like they have with JYJ. From the scope of these charges, it looks to me like LSM is potentially 1000 times the wrong-doer JYJ is! Put all of these charges up against “suing to get out of a contract with SM” and see what YOU think. JYJ’s supposed “crime” seems rather upstanding, in fact: they have acted on a firm desire not to be under contract to criminals. How can what the guys have done be an imminent danger to the cultural integrity of Korea when the alleged activities of LSM are not and are once again in the process of being swept under the rug? HELLO?? SK Prosecutors office?? Is anybody awake over there??

CEO of SM Entertainment Youngmin Kim Charged by…

CEO of SM Entertainment, Youngmin Kim, Charged by the Prosecutor’s Office
김시현 기자 shyun@chosun.com
March 09, 2010

The Seoul Police, Kangnam Division, revealed on the 9th that it had sent an indictment on the CEO of SM Entertainment, Youngmin Kim (40), to the Public Prosecutor’s Office in relation to the lawsuit that the cosmetics company ‘W’ has filed against SM Entertainment for defamation and obstruction of business.

Ever since the three members of TVXQ—Hero Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun, Xiah Junsu—filed suit against SM Entertainment for the annulment of their long-term exclusive contract with the entertainment management company, Kim has declared, “The reason why the three members of TVXQ filed this lawsuit was to satisfy their greed for money after investing in a cosmetics company”. For these words, Kim was indicted already twice.

The representatives of ‘W’ state, “The CEO Kim is attempting transfer all responsibility and blame for the departure of the three members of TVXQ on us and this has consequently gravely damaged our corporate image”. They also added, “SM Entertainment publicly threatened our operations in China with a civil or criminal lawsuit, which has incurred further damages and led to the loss of our security deposit.”

The police already concluded that “the three members of TVXQ filed the lawsuit against [SM Entertainment] in order to have their long-term exclusive contract with their management company declared invalid; their legal proceedings have noghitng to do with their investment in a cosmetics company.” In October of last year, the Court upheld the preliminary injunction submitted by the three members of TVXQ to have the effects of their exclusive contract nullified during the duration of the lawsuit. SM Entertainment continues to affirm, “we have never mentioned the name ‘W’ in relation to this problem and have thus never commited defamation.”

EDITORS NOTE

Editors Note: AVEX Statement on Withdrawal of Provisional Injunction

Avex would have us to believe that they have won the day by stating that ‘on the grounds that the case
would have been dismissed anyway” –C-JeS and Zak Corporastion have withdrawn the JYJ petition for the provisional injunction for the Charity concert in Japan.

I am more inclined to believe that there is another reason altogether for withdrawal of the provisional injunction, and until we hear C-JeS and Zak Corporation’s rebuttal on this matter–I conclude that Avex
would have lost this case.

Avex is no stronger than SM so we keep fighting their claims and support our guys. The sadness is in the refusal on Avex’s part to give ground on an issue of charity and humanity.

It must be nice sleeping in your warm beds at night while other Japanese people are struggling to survive. Shame one thousand times. Momma Cha

[Translation] 110602 Avex Press Release – Regarding the JUNSU/JEJUNG/YUCHUN
Event Application For Provisional Injunction
Avex Group Holdings Ltd
Regarding the JUNSU/JEJUNG/YUCHUN Event Application For Provisional Injunction

As stated in our press release on 28 April, in relation to the Tohoku Earthquake Charity Event by our company’s artists JUNSU/JEJUNG/YUCHUN, the organisers Zak Corporation (Zak Corp.) and JJY’s Korean management company C-JeS ENTERTAINMENT.Co.ltd (C-JeS) had filed for 2 charges of provisional disposition against our company for unfair correspondence, at the Tokyo local district courts.

・ Heisei 23rd Year, No. 1115 Application for provisional injunction against obstruction of business operations (Civil Matters, 9th Dept)
Claimant (Complainant) = Zak Corp.
・ Heisei 23rd Year, No. 22020 Application for Provisional Disposition Order (Civil Matters, 46th Dept)
Claimant (Complainant) = Zak Corp. & C-JeS (Joint Claim by both companies)

With regards to the 2 counts of provisional injunction, our company had asserted its legitimacy on the issue, and we were confident that this case would be dismissed. However on 27 May, Zak Corp. and C-JeS had, without waiting for the final decision, withdrawn both claims.

Zak Corp. and C-JeS had considered that it would have been difficult for their two claims to stand, and had decided to abandon this application for provision injunction. With such facts, we can simply conclude that legally, our claims are valid.

The above is what we would like to report.
