[TRANS] Marie Claire Korea Magazine (August 2014 Issue) Excerpts: ‘We are JYJ before anything

jyjclairekorea1

Yuchun “I like group activities better than individual activities, to be honest…I enjoy it. I don’t know how fans would feel. There may be fans who support individual activities more. But sometimes I feel that the fans would place more importance and show more interest in group activities.”
Jaejoong “I agree.”

Junsu “When we first started our activities, I think fans also thought that it was a reasonable and good thing for a member to do something for another member. But at some point in time, fans started to be sensitive about things that we thought nothing of doing for each other. There are fans who become fans because of Jaejoong’s acting, or fans who like my musical, not JYJ. It goes same for Yuchun’s drama. I think that’s what their positions are. But, I hope that they would keep in mind that we are JYJ before that.”

Jaejoong “We say these words with caution since the intentions of the fans are for the good of us, support and love for me. But I really would like to take this chance to talk about this before starting group activities for this album. Please keep in mind that we are able to come out and do our individual activities from the energy we gain from JYJ.”

Yuchun “There is another thing I would like to ask of our fans. We set the directions for our activities. We discuss it with the agency, but we make most of the decisions. But I noticed that there were many people who criticize the agency.”
Junsu “People believe that decisions that are beneficial to some and as beneficial to others are being made.”

Yuchun “Please understand this. There are times when we make considerations for the agency and when members make considerations for other members. But fans think that the decisions we made out of consideration for each other is a decision made unilaterally by the agency. Of course, we know. We know that it is out of your love for that member. But we chose to walk out from [our former] agency because we wanted to make our own decisions, and so we prioritize the respect for our opinions above anything else.”
Junsu “Yes. We listen to what the agency has to say. But we make the decisions. Among our activities, some have been more successful than others. Fans believe that those decisions have been made by the agency, but it is not true. To put it simply, we do what we want to do. I would like the fans, out of the love they have for us, to understand that JYJ are people who take responsibilities for the decisions they have made.”
Jaejoong “We hope that the fans would support us so that we could do what we want to do. Of course, we know that the fans have been our greatest support going through the hard times with us when we left our former agency.”
Junsu “After the hard times, I feel that the members and fans have laughed more and grown closer together. That is why we would like the fans to enjoy our group activities instead of being worried and defensive. Above all, I have the deepest gratitude for the fans.”
Jaejoong “It’s like fans and us are a family now.”

jyjclairekorea2

Q. Anyhow, that is a long time. There are many names to friendships. What kind of friends are you to each other?
Yuchun “There is no right word that could describe us. Before, it was just a friend and a family. There were few words that came to my mind, but now, the meaning of those words just seems pointless. There is just no need for it.”
Junsu “We depend on each other more and grow closer together when we are going through hard times, rather than being together only in good times.”

Yuchun “I don’t know what happiness is, but I really want three of us to keep doing well. It would be great if we became more successful and made a lot of money, but I think about how strong our relationship would be if the three of us could just have a smile on our faces simply by seeing each other’s faces. Of course, JYJ activities are very important and I would like to keep doing it. But I hope we do it because we think alike, because we are so happy when we are together, and because we think it would be great to do something like this when we listen to a song on the radio. Things we could do because it makes each other happy. We don’t know what great things we would be or what lies ahead in our future. Even if we don’t get the leading roles when we are forty years-old, and we could only afford to do 10 shows when we did 30 shows in the past, I would be happy if we were happy just for the sake of doing it. It would be great if we were successful, but that’s not what is important.”

Yuchun “People tell me to widen the social circle a little since the types of people I meet are limited. But it doesn’t matter how many people I meet. I have these two [Jaejoong and Junsu] as my security. Jaejoong hyung and Junsu. These two will always be there for me, and that’s enough. What would I be afraid of or worried about when I have assets like these two?”
Junsu “It’s hard enough to make just one [friend like this].” (laughs)
Jaejoong “It’s like a security deposit.” (laughs)

jyjclairekorea3

Q. It’s been three years since the last album, and the three of you have been involved in many individual activities. It is a time that would have matured you as a person as well. It may be a little abstract, but please tell us how your growth over the three years has been reflected in this album.
Junsu “Genres are more diverse, but we are relaxed a bit more in this album. It is not that we weren’t trying as hard but we matured in a way. For example, even for the same dance music, we chose songs with stronger impression rather than faster and louder beat. It is true that all three of us have different taste in music, but we also know what music JYJ should be doing. We got a lot of songs from Korean and international composers. About 80 songs. Each of us chose 5 songs, but 3 of the songs overlapped. Instead of deciding which songs were good or bad, we thought about music we should be doing, and we think alike.”

Q. What do three of you think JYJ’s music should be?
Yuchun “Good music. And music that harmonizes well with Junsu’s voice and Jaejoong hyung’s voice.”
Jaejoong “We didn’t think about the trends or genre for this album. We chose not to think about anything other than just finding the common ground for the three of us. There are songs with a powerful instrumental music, a cappella, R&B or pure pop. We chose songs that all three of us thought were good when we listened.”

Q. Three of you are all so different. It is amazing that you could find a common ground in good music.
Yuchun “I think we had few similar impressions [about music] when thinking about the group and excluding the genres we liked. These impressions come purely from the long years we spent together. There is no clear reason, but when we listen to the songs, we know what is good, what would go well with the members, and what it would be like when three of us sing together. This is possible because we have been together for a long time.”

Q. After reuniting after three years of activities in different areas instead of continuing activities as JYJ, there must be some changes you have noticed.
Jaejoong “I am sure all of us have it.”
Yuchun “I don’t have any.”
Jaejoong “You don’t have any? Why not?” (laughs) [T/N: JJ uses baby talk in a very cute, mocking way] Junsu and I had no pressure to sing because we had released solo albums [during the three years]. But I was wondering what it would be like for Yuchun, who only did acting. Junsu did musicals, so I thought the musical side of him would show and rock for me, since I released rock album. So we started recording wondering what the intersection that would encompass all three of us would be, but once the recording started, it was just JYJ. We were surprised too.”
Junsu “There is a difference between the vocals when doing a musical and when singing as JYJ. That’s also true for Jaejoong hyung. In case of Yuchun, I couldn’t really remember the last time I saw him singing. I worried that he may have lost the touch. But then, we went to karaoke on Yuchun’s birthday, and he sang so well. Maybe it’s because he’d been acting, but I could see that there was something more heart-rendering about his singing now. I was worried too. I was worried if we could start group activities again after three years of doing individual activities, but it turns out that it was only 3 years that we were apart.”
Yuchun “I thought we were together for all 10 years.” (laughs)
Junsu “Yes. 10 years all together.”
Jaejoong “It is our 11th year. Longer if we count the years before debut.”

jyjclairekorea4

To the question, “Is Kim Jaejoong happy now? Or, firstly, does Kim Jaejoong believe in happiness?”

Jaejoong “That standard [of happiness] is hard to say these days. People ask me, “JYJ doesn’t really see each other often outside of the work, like album recording, since you are all so busy doing individual activities, right?” It’s actually true. I am happy to see them so often during the making of the album. I was so happy when the three of us started [JYJ] activities together. But then as time passed, we are connected regardless of whether we are apart or together. It doesn’t matter if we are together or we are apart, we feel each other’s presences. It’s similar with happiness. If I had a clear definition of happiness before, now I don’t feel like I should have or do something to be happy. [turns to Yuchun, who previously texted “Are you happy these days?”] I got that text when I was filming a drama, and I was dazed. How many times did we talk about the future, ask each other if we were happy and if we would be happy? Answer to that question changed with each year we grew older, and it was weird hearing that conversation again.”

Junsu “We left [our former] agency because we truly wanted to be happy. We keep asking ourselves if we are headed in that direction, and I think we also worry that this happiness would fade away when we are happy. There are good and bad sides to everything. Whether you are rich or successful, there is definitely a bad side to it. It depends on how you think about it. If I think that I am unhappy because I don’t have something, then I am unhappy. But if I can be satisfied about having what others do not have, then I am happy. It’s harder than you think, because I would be unhappy pursuing something that I don’t have. Aren’t we at least closer to the answer of happiness than we were then?”

Yuchun “There is nothing to happiness, really. Realizing that even when you are going through the hardest time of your life, that moment in itself may be happiness. Realizing that you are happy not because you are having a good time, but that being able to go through the hard times and keep going with your life in itself may be happiness. I think that’s why the members have a clear goal. They don’t have the clear goal, but they have a clear goal. When I sent Jaejoong hyung that text, I was so tired and worn out. I had trouble sleeping, intimidated with thoughts racing in my mind. But then I realized in that situation, that I was fortunate. It is all good. I am still happy. That’s why I texted him. I knew he was busy filming a drama, making albums and preparing for the show, but that was not what I was asking. It was a question like, ‘did you eat?’ You could say it depends on how you look at it, but Jaejoong hyung’s answer was same as mine. No more judging between what is happiness and what is not.”

[PETITION] “Open Investigation into the IAGOC’s Unilateral Exclusion of JYJ from Incheon Asian Games Opening Ceremony”

jyjincheonpic

Call to action: Open investigation into the Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee’s unilateral exclusion of JYJ from Incheon Asian Games Opening Ceremony

The Asian Games is the most prestigious games organized by the Olympic Council of Asia, bringing together over 10,000 athletes, team officials, and technical delegates from 45 nations every four years. The 2014 Asian Games will be held in the city of Incheon, South Korea this coming September. To promote the games across Asia, the IAGOC appointed Korean superstars JYJ as honorary ambassadors to the 2014 Incheon Asian Games last February 20, 2013. In the words of the IAGOC, “we appointed JYJ as the honorary ambassador, whose popularity is well recognized all around the Asia, to encourage the rest of the Asia to know more about the 2014 Incheon Asian Games.” Fulfilling their roles for one and a half years, JYJ performed extensive promotional activities for the Incheon Asian Games, such as travelling to Guangzhou, China and Hanoi, Vietnam to put on promotional showcases. They even sang the Games’ official theme song “ONLY ONE”, being the face of the Games on promotional advertisements throughout Asia. They have likewise filmed multiple televised commercials to better promote the upcoming Games.

On July 1, 2014, however, JYJ was neither invited nor informed of the press conference that the IAGOC held, and were unilaterally dropped from the opening and closing ceremonies’ list of performers through press releases, despite several attempts by JYJ’s management C-JeS Entertainment to clarify the matter with the Committee as the Service Contract specifically included performance by JYJ on the opening and closing ceremonies. Quite surprisingly, this incident came about after it was recently announced that SM Entertainment, JYJ’s previous management company, was named a sponsor for the Incheon 2014 Asian Paralympic Games. A boyband from SM Entertainment, who had no previous connection to the Incheon Asian Games and not once promoted it will instead be performing a pop-song of their own at the opening and closing ceremonies and also appeared at the press conference in lieu of JYJ. On the other hand, JYJ, the Games’ honorary ambassadors, are barred from performing the official theme song of the Incheon Asian Games, ‘Only One’, which they sang and promoted specifically for the Incheon Asian Games.

On top of this, the IAGOC has been selling opening ceremony tickets since December, 2013 at the sky-high price of 1 Million Korean Won, or approximately $900 USD, using JYJ’s name and saying that JYJ will perform during the opening ceremony. Since JYJ are the official ambassadors, it is reasonable for anyone buying tickets to opening ceremony to expect that they would be performing. As JYJ are limited in their promotional activities due to an invisible hand blocking them, fans of JYJ still bought these tickets and booked international flights to Incheon, hoping to catch a glimpse of JYJ on a fair stage. This now has become impossible as the IAGOC’s anomalous acts in the form of a shameless and fraudulent bait-and-switch scheme. For more than a year, the Committee has made over four billion Asians believe that JYJ is the face of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games through their advertisements and roadshows which JYJ participated in. Yet, they did not bother to mention the name JYJ at the press conference and have dropped JYJ from the list of performers during the ceremonies. Instead, another boyband suddenly appeared at the press conference and in the advertisements instead of JYJ. As of the writing of this petition letter, the official tour agency of the IAGOC which is responsible for selling tour packages to foreigners, is still selling opening ceremony tickets and tour packages using JYJ’s name and thereby continuing to knowingly mislead fans and the public.

The actions of the IAGOC have drawn worldwide criticism from spectators to journalists, tarnishing the reputation of the Asian Games and bringing concern regarding whether or not the IAGOC is capable of holding a fair competition for athletes who have trained all their lives for this one stage. If a mere corporate donation caused the IAGOC to drop their honorary ambassadors in such a disgraceful and public manner, we, the spectators and consumers of the Incheon Asian Games, cannot trust them to conduct fair play for athletes during the Games.

We join JYJ’s management in its plea to IAGOC to keep the promise with their Honorary Ambassadors JYJ. We also believe that the 2014 Incheon Asian Games Committee as well as the Olympic Council of Asia are organized to fulfill the public interest, which is based upon loyalty and trust.

We call upon the Olympic Council of Asia to perform an open investigation into the IAGOC’s actions to ensure an untainted Asian Games and bring justice and fair play to performers and athletes consistent with the spirit of the Games themselves.

PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION HERE

(Currently more than 7,000  17,000 signatures collected)

JYJ3′s Note:  A Formal petition letter along with the signatures gathered will be sent to the Olympic Council of Asia and the IAGOC.
We would like to thanks to the authors and to the fans & non-fans for participate on this Petition.
Let’s do this for Jaejoong, Yuchun and Junsu and please always remind that together we are stronger.

[News] 131227 10 Year Anniversary JYJ’s Q&A

jyjayygirl

In commemoration of their 10 year anniversary, JYJ revealed their feelings and plans for 2014, saying “In the new year all three of us plan to perform together.” They recalled their memories from their past activities on C-JeS Entertainment’s homepage on the 26th.

JYJ wrote, “No matter what activity we had, we were asked the most questions about our 10 year anniversary. We remember every one of our “firsts,” including the first time we stood onstage together, the day of our first album release, our firm interview, and even our first performance. Throughout the past year, we’ve given a large number of answers. We feel very proud, and shared stories about ourself, about our members, and the times we’ve spent together. But now that the year is coming to an end, the one thing that rings loudly in our hearts about our anniversary is ‘thank you,’” and showed their gratitude towards their fans.

The following are Q&A’s with JYJ.

Q: What do we want to say to each other?

A: Now instead of thinking about myself, it’s more about the members that know me better than I know myself. It’s not enough to call them my brothers. It’s about us three!

Q: How can we sum up the past 10 years?

A: Thank you! is what we want to say. Especially for the undying passion and the ongoing trust that you’ve showed us. We’re really thankful. Even when we went through difficult times, when we faced new challenges, and when we were met with new worlds, we were filled with gratitude each passing day. We’re thankful for every little thing, and are even thankful for recognizing what a great thing it is to be thankful. No matter how many times we say it we don’t know how to fully express this heart of thanks.

Q: What do we want to say to our fans?

A: We’re connected by an invisible string. I think we’ve become increasingly close! We’re so grateful to our fans for cheering us on in every one of our activities, for commending us on a job well done, and for pouring out unconditional love all the time! Thank you for cheering for not only our music but as individual persons, and for supporting our youth. You always make us smile. Doesn’t it seem like every one of our meetings help us deepen our understanding of each other? We want to make up for that heart, and are committed to working hard to do our best!

Q: What will our future look like in 10 years?

A: No matter what it looks like, we will be together, and want to play you our music. Even if that time comes, we will still be fearless in face of a new challenge. We will deepen our colors as human beings, and will always give thanks and stay humble.

Q: What are our plans for 2014?

A: We want to promise you this. As JYJ we will show you the three of us standing on one stage! We will definitely show you! We ask that you continue to look out for us in our solo activities. We love you!

131205 Nelson Mandela, Revered Statesman and Anti-Apartheid Leader, Dies at 95

nelsonmandelaandgeorgebush

Former South African President Nelson Mandela has died at age 95 of complications from a recurring lung infection.

The anti-apartheid leader and Nobel laureate was a beloved figure around the world, a symbol of reconciliation from a country with a brutal history of racism.

Mandela was released from prison in 1990 after nearly 30 years for plotting to overthrow South Africa’s apartheid government. In 1994, in a historic election, he became the nation’s first black leader. Mandela stepped down in 1999 after a single term and retired from political and public life.

History

Born Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela in Transkei, South Africa, on July 18, 1918, he was one of the world’s most revered statesmen and revolutionaries who led the struggle against apartheid in South Africa.

A qualified lawyer from the University College of Fort Hare and the University of Witwatersrand, Mandela served as the president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.

His political career started in 1944 when he joined the African National Congress (ANC), and he participated in the resistance against the then government¹s apartheid policy in 1948. In June 1961, the ANC executive approved his idea of using violent tactics and encouraged members who wished to involve themselves in Mandela’s campaign. Shortly after, he founded Umkhonto we Sizwe, the armed wing of the ANC, and was named its leader.

In 1962, he was arrested and convicted of sabotage and other charges, and was sentenced to five years of rigorous imprisonment. In 1963, Mandela was brought to stand trial along with many fellow members of Umkhonto we Sizwe for conspiring against the government and plotting to overthrow it by the use of violence.

Sentenced to life in prison

On June 12, 1964, eight of the accused, including Mandela, were sentenced to life imprisonment.

His statement from the dock at the opening of the defense trial became extremely popular. He closed his statement with: “During my lifetime I have dedicated myself to the struggle of the African people. I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.”

Mandela served 27 years in prison, spending many of those years at Robben Island Prison, off Cape Town. While in jail, his reputation grew and he became widely known across the world as the most significant black leader in South Africa.

He became a prominent symbol of resistance as the anti-apartheid movement gained momentum in South Africa and across the world. On the island, he and other prisoners were subjected to hard labor in a lime quarry. Racial discrimination was rampant, and prisoners were segregated by race with the black prisoners receiving the fewest rations. Mandela has written about how he was allowed one visitor and one letter every six months.

Free and fair

In February 1985, President P.W. Botha offered Mandela his freedom on condition that he unconditionally reject violence as a political weapon, but Mandela rejected the proposal. He made his sentiment known through a letter he released via his daughter.

“What freedom am I being offered while the organization of the people remains banned? Only free men can negotiate. A prisoner cannot enter into contracts,” he wrote. In 1988, Mandela was moved to Victor Verster Prison and would remain there until his release.

Throughout his imprisonment, pressure mounted on the South African government to release him. The slogan “Free Nelson Mandela” became the new battle cry of the anti-apartheid campaigners. Finally, Mandela was released on Feb. 11, 1990, in an event streamed live across the world. After his release, Mandela returned to his life’s work, striving to attain the goals he and others had set out almost four decades earlier. In 1991, the first national conference of the ANC was held inside South Africa since the organization had been banned in 1960.

President Mandela

Mandela was elected president of the ANC, while his friend Oliver Tambo became the organization’s national chairperson. Mandela’s leadership and his work, as well as his relationship with then President F.W. de Klerk, were recognized when they were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993. South Africa’s first multiracial elections, held on April 27, 1994, saw the ANC storm in with a majority of 62 percent of the votes, and Mandela was inaugurated in May 1994 as the country’s first black president.

As president from May 1994 until June 1999, Mandela presided over the transition from minority rule and apartheid, winning international respect for his advocacy of national and international reconciliation.

Honors and personal life

In 1990, he received the Bharat Ratna Award from the government of India and also received the last ever Lenin Peace Prize from the Soviet Union.

Mandela received many national international honors, including the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993, the Order of Merit from Queen Elizabeth II and the Presidential Medal of Freedom from George W. Bush.

In July 2004, the city of Johannesburg bestowed its highest honor by granting Mandela the freedom of the city at a ceremony in Orlando, Soweto.

In 1992, he was awarded the Ataturk Peace Award by Turkey. He refused the award citing human rights violations committed by Turkey at the time, but later accepted the award in 1999. Also in 1992, he received the Nishan-e-Pakistan, the highest civil service award of Pakistan. Mandela’s autobiography, “Long Walk to Freedom,” was published in 1994. He had begun work on it secretly while in prison.

Mandela and his wives

Nelson Mandela’s love life has seemingly run parallel to his political one — and can be divided up into three key eras. The young activist married his first wife, Evelyn Mase, in 1944. The couple, who had four children, divorced in 1958 — shortly before Mandela became an outlaw with the banning of the ANC.

Mandela’s second marriage — and probably his most famous — largely coincided with the time he spent locked up at the hands of the apartheid regime. In 1958 he walked down the aisle with Winnie Madikizela, who stood by his side and actively campaigned to free him from prison. Winnie became a powerful figure in her own right while Mandela was imprisoned, but a series of scandals involving her led to the couple’s estrangement in 1992, her dismissal from his cabinet in 1995, and their official divorce in 1996. The couple had two children. Winnie Mandela was also later convicted of kidnapping.

His third marriage, to Graca Machel — the widow of former Mozambique President Samora Machel — came on his 80th birthday as he entered his role of world statesman.

(Young Ki, 10:42pm KST) @1215thexiahtic @leejeehoon79 You can’t act like this here!!! I’m going to go bed!!! and have Xiah dreams kekekekekekekekeke

Junsu… why are you tweeting at 3 in the morning D: SLEEP
(Junsu, 3:04am KST) My mother asked me a question after my Thursday performance.
Mother: Why can’t we hear you breathe before your ‘The Last Dance’ number like last year?
Me: …huh? But I’ve been doing it exactly like I did last year since my first performance?
Mother: I couldn’t hear it though?
haha Yes.. My microphone had never been turned on for it.

(Junsu, 3:08am KST) I had been doing all the breathing without realizing that my microphone wasn’t on.. haha I went straight to the director before my two Sunday performances yesterday when I reached the Seoul Arts Center and asked him to turn the microphone on as soon as I appear on the bridge with the sound of the bell chimes! ..My breathing could only be heard from yesterday’s Sunday performances lol

(Junsu, 3:16am KST) Ah! It wasn’t the fault of the sound team^^ It was just that it wasn’t discussed like it had been for last year’s performances, and I had been added to the process at a later time.. It just wasn’t agreed upon earlier haha I’ll make sure to provide you all with a variety of breathing noises from now on~~

I want to see you perform too ;___;
(Kkang Jjune, 3:11am KST) @1215thexiahtic I’ll make sure to go watch you when I get back to Korea 🙂
(Junsu, 3:17am KST) @kkangjjune Call me when you get to Korea^^

[TRANS] The JYJ Magazine No. 2 (July 2013)

jyjmagazine2

Hello, my lovely ladies (and gents – if you’re out there?)!

Unlike the last magazine, we were able to order a copy of the second edition of THE JYJ MAGAZINE No.2 on time!

We wanted to share the amazing and funny stories that lay within the magazine pages with you, so we decided to translate the entire magazine.

It’s a little shorter than the first edition (half a year is much easier to cover than 1000 days, no?) but that doesn’t mean it was an easy task for us to take on.
Which is why, in order to prevent any illegal misuses of our work, we have decided to post a pdf version of our work only.

Also, taking apart a magazine to scan, and then taking those scans and adding in the English text is a lot of work, and a waste of a good magazine (since we can’t put it back together again), so we have decided not to provide all the images with the text.

However, we hope you enjoy reading this magazine as much as we did.
And we hope it brings you a little closer to Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu.

Happy readings, and when you share, please remember to use proper credits!

Delivering his daily words of wisdom to us

(Jaejoong, 10:43am KST) The attacker and the defender. The speaker and the listener. The mover and the experiencer.
None of that matters.
Would it really matter, if there are faults and contradictions in our words and actions..
Whether it’s too much or not enough is up to each individual’s own standards.

(Jaejoong, 10:47am KST) Experience and listen to as much as you can.
By doing that, you can pique someone’s interest in you,
You can form comfort and encouragement for someone..
And most importantly, you can create the biggest weapon in your arsenal.

(Jaejoong, 10:53am KST) Though both are a form of freedom.
You may be depriving yourself of the freedom to listen attentively to everything around you..
More than the freedom to express yourself.
You could become the center of the universe, or create an empty ego that even you can’t control, depending on the level of conscious control you have..

Have fun bb~ <3
(Junsu, 5:21pm KST) Today marks my last concert in Korea (for this tour)~~ Let’s all have fun and bring my Korean concerts to a successful conclusion ^^

lol
(Junsu, 5:35pm KST) Hansol, let’s get educated.. ^^ (T/N: The academy is called ‘Hansol Education’)

[SCANS + TRANS] 130729 Excerpts from “The JYJ” Magazine Vol. 2 – About Friendship & “5 commandments to me of 10 years later”

About Friendship:

Jaejoong:
“Friend is one soul put together in two bodies, who understand each other and do not push you out.”
(Trans: @rubypurple_fan)

jyjmagazine2

On the topic ‘friend’, Jaejoong said “Manners must be preserved [even between friends]. Recently I denounced my friendship with 3 fellows. Unfortunately, they crossed the line – the do’s and don’ts in friendship.” and “For instance, when there’s an age gap between someone and me, even if I talk informally with him, it means the distance between our hearts is shortened, not that he doesn’t need to observe his manners that should still be preserved between us. I can’t be a friend with that kind of person who ignores the line.”
(Source: @4U_JYJ Trans by: @jaetaku)

Yoochun:
“People have left my side but a friend is someone who comes to me when I call. Someone who believes in you when others won’t.”
(Trans by: @rubypurple_fan)

jyjmagazine2a

When the whole world leave my side, I call ‘friend’ the one who comes to find me. Even if everyone turns their back on me and doesn’t believe in me, if there’s only one person willing to believe in me, would there be any greater consolation? – Yuchun
(Source: @gomzinae75 Trans by: Sheena)

Only one person could believe me even if everyone turn a blind eye to me or don’t believe me, there’s nothing better than this consolation. – “Yuchun”
(Source: @gomzinae75 Trans by: @064g)

Junsu:
“A friend is someone who takes away your sadness.”
(Trans by: @rubypurple_fan)

jyjmagazine2b

1. Maintain ambitiousness for the sake of everyone’s happiness
2. Not depressed though having troubles

[TRANS] 130729 Post of JYJ Tweets

Good morning 🙂
(Jaejoong, 8:20am KST, English Tweet) Hi~ pic.twitter.com/PpiynrfASj

He’s reading a lot these days, isn’t he?
(Jaejoong, 8:52pm KST) “Don’t Risk Life and Limb For Happiness” – Richard Carlson- (T/N: Original English title is “What about the Big Stuff: Finding Strength and Moving Forward When the Stakes are High”) *Don’t think of everything that is happening to you in your lives as pain. Take these problems, add a strong sense of faith that you will find happiness, and find a solution to them one by one.* There are so many great books out there. pic.twitter.com/f0Jv7PcA3f

jaereading

The passage from the book that Jaejoong took a picture of reads,
“Some people are able to overcome pain, sorrow, and hardships quite well. These people with hearts of steel are able to vanquish pain in an instant. Though the sudden death of a loved one makes them sad, they are able to overcome it. This is because humans have a surprisingly strong side to themselves. Though we lose things one by one, we find a way to survive.
However, there are times when you get to a point where you can’t take it anymore. At one point in your life, you are met with pain, sudden death, unexpected accidents and despair. Even if you are not a strong person, you must never surrender to these things. Even if you accept the sorrow, never surrender.”

Wait…. what? O__O

[Trans] 130712 JYJ’s Summer Magazine To Be Released Simultaneously In Korea And Japan “Our Fans Are Our Friends”

jyjfriends

JYJ’s magazine ‘The JYJ’ will be releasing a summer edition.

On the 12th of July, C-JeS Entertainment announced, “Our ‘The JYJ’ magazine, which became a hot topic in January when we released the first edition outlining JYJ’s first 1,000 days, will be releasing its new Summer edition simultaneously in Korea and Japan.”

C-JeS Entertainment introduced the new Summer edition as they said, “The theme of our second ‘The JYJ’ magazine is ‘Friends’. It will include a photo spread that will showcase JYJ’s friendship, a cover story, what JYJ think ‘friends’ mean to them, and the honest experiences they’ve had with their friends.”

They continued to add, “We got up close and personal during Tokyo Dome’s April concert, and have detailed the that experience through photos and written words. The behind-the-scenes stories behind each member’s solo activities, and never-before-seen photos will show a more honest and friendly side of JYJ.”

The Summer edition will be a total of 120 pages with a 30 page photo spread and cover story, behind-the-scenes moments from JYJ’s Tokyo Dome performance, never-before-seen photos and hand-written letters from the three members during their solo activities, as well as the preparation process behind JYJ’s 2013 Membership Week event.

Regarding this, JYJ stated, “Because we think of our fans, as well as each other, as our closest friends, we have expressed our honest experiences about them,” and “We hope this will become a great gift to our fans, who have supported us till we could stand in Tokyo Dome once more and have sent us their unwavering affection during our solo activities, to commemorate the times we have spent together.”

Meanwhile, the Summer edition of JYJ’s special interview magazine ‘The JYJ’ will be released simultaneously in Korea and Japan and can be bought on the C-JeS Store website. (http://cjesstore.com/, http://www.jyjjapan.jp/)

(Jaejoong, 7:50am KST, 130309) Venerable Haemin puts me at ease from the early morninghttp://pic.twitter.com/TmoxjlnSk8

[We live in an endless myriad of relationships.
My family. My relatives. My friends. My coworkers. My neighbors….
These relationships must be happy in order for our lives to be happy.
Happiness gained by oneself does not last long.

Our greatest teacher in life,
is what we learn from the relationships we have with other people.
Even if we say we have found enlightenment,
if there are discomforts left within our relationships,
it means that our enlightenment is not complete yet.]
