JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong won the Hallyu Drama Soundtrack Award at the 8th Seoul Drama Awards.

According to C-JeS Entertainment on the 27th, Kim Jaejoong will receive the Hallyu Drama Soundtrack Award at the Seoul Drama Awards, which will be held on the 5th of September at the Seoul Haeoreum Theater.

Kim Jaejoong was praised for his role as Kim Kyung Tak in the MBC weekend drama ‘Dr. Jin’ last year. ‘Even when alive, it’s like a dream’, his soundtrack for the drama, was met with an explosive response and topped the Melon OST charts.

One representative stated, “Kim Jaejoong’s extraordinary vocal talent and ability to convey emotions gave birth to music that fit ‘Dr. Jin’ perfectly,” and “Kim Jaejoong himself participated in the lyrics-writing process of the song, making his musical talent and capabilities shine even brighter. His talent played a big role in expressing the love story of the drama at a deeper level.”

Kim Jaejoong said, “I was able to feel the emotions of the characters very well because I was playing one of them, and it made it easier to express the necessary emotions in the lyrics and the song itself,” and “I would like to sincerely thank everyone who loved the drama and the soundtrack.”

53 Korean idol groups, including TVXQ and Girls’ Generation, have been nominated for the Hallyu 10th Anniversary Japanese Music Awards, which will be held in Chiba, Japan in October.

According to Oricon, a ‘Hallyu 10th Anniversary Awards’ awards ceremony will take place at the International Convention Hall in Chiba, Japan on the 9th of October to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Hallyu Wave. The committee in charge of the awards ceremony will hold a poll from the 22nd till the 30th of September for boy bands, girl groups, and female and male solo artistes, to choose the top 5 groups in each category.

The nominees for the boy band category came to a total of 33 teams including INFINITE, AJAX, EXO, Epic High, FT Island, MBLAQ, CN BLUE, JYJ, SHINee, SHU-I, SHinhwa, Super Junior, ZE:A, Choshinsung, TEEN TOP, 2AM, 2PM, TVXQ, NU’EST, B.A.P, B2ST, B1A4, Big Bang, VIXX, Boyfriend and U-Kiss.

The girl group category had a total of 20 nominees including Jewelry, After school, A Pink, f(x), Girls Day, KARA, SECRET, SISTAR, Girls’ Generation, Davichi, Dalshabet, T-ara, 2NE1, 4Minute, Brown Eyed Girls, Miss A, Rainbow, and the Wondergirls.

The male solo category includes Psy, Se7en, Rain and Kim Bum Soo while the female solo category includes IU, Gummy, Ailee, BoA and Wax.

During the press conference of KBS 2TV’s ‘Our Neighborhood’s Master of Variety and Sports’, PD Lee Yae Ji  announced that the show would be receiving an appreciation plaque from the Korean Sports For All Association.

Our Neighborhood’s Master of Variety and Sports’ has been promoting sports activities to its viewers through various missions that had its team playing table tennis, bowling and badminton. One stadium even said that their sales have gone up by 30 million Won because of the show.

Regarding this, PD Lee stated, “We’re grateful for the positive reception. Many sports representatives have been suggesting new sports activities for us to try. So the staff are in a conundrum on what our celebrity team should play next.”

She continued to say, “We have the honor of receiving an appreciation plaque from the Korean Sports For All Association for our team’s work on bowling and table tennis. With Lee Byung Jin, Jo Dal Hwan and Park Sung Ho working as ambassadors for the association, so they will probably be receiving the award on behalf of the program. The decision will be made after looking at the team’s schedules.”

Meanwhile, the celebrity team of ‘Our Neighborhood’s Master of Variety and Sports’ has been meeting various teams across the nation with their badminton matches.

The three member male idol group JYJ (Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, Kim Junsu) and four-member girl group SISTAR (Bora, Hyorin, Dasom, Soyu) received the Best Male and Female CF Models of the Year Awards.

JYJ and SISTAR attended the ’2013 MTN Broadcasted Commercial Festival’ on the 25th at 4pm to receive their respective awards.

On this day, Park Yoochun attended the awards ceremony to receive the accolade on behalf of JYJ and with the trophy in his hands, he stated, “We’re extremely honored to receive such a big award. We would like to thank everyone who contacted us for such great commercials.”

With a bright smile on his face, Park Yoochun continued to say, “I’d like for us to continue greeting you all through great commercials.”

With members who were some of the first Hallyu stars of Korea, JYJ’s myriad of charms have been presented through various commercials for clothing, cosmetics and outdoor brands.

JYJ Yoochun-Girls Generation Yuri Receive Popular TV Star Awards

JYJ’s Yoochun and Girls’ Generation’s Yuri both took home a Popular TV Star trophy at 2013 Paeksang Arts Awards. Park Shin Hye and Shinhwa’s Kim Dong Wan also received the honor in the film category of the award ceremony.

Yoochun spoke at the podium upon receiving the award: “I am so thankful for such an award. I will work hard and enjoy the learning process and hopefully stand here again next year.”

Kim Dong Wan also stated, “I am incredibly grateful. I lack in so many aspects as an actor but I am honored to be given an award like this. Especially for a singer-turned-actor like myself, awards mean a huge deal. I will continue to work hard as an actor and a singer as Shinhwa returns to the stage next week.”

Park Shin Hye, who received the Popular Movie Star award for three straight years, shared her thoughts: “I think a lot of the popularity was from the movie ‘Miracle in Cell no. 7.’ This is a great honor and I have nothing else to say but thanks to all my fans. Last year was a year of learning and I am extremely happy to receive an award on top of everything I learned. Thank you.”

Girls’ Generation’s Yuri was unable to attend the ceremony.

Kim Junsu’s English single ‘UNCOMMITTED’ has won the Best Korean Male Singer Award at the ‘V-chart awards’, held by China’s biggest MV site ‘Yinyue Tai’ on the 13th.

At the first awards ceremony held by the site, Kim Junsu was given the Best Korean Male Singer Award, which was based on a voting poll which fans from all over the world participated in. Kim Junsu’s win was based on his music video’s success on the V-charts during 2012, as well as the votes that were tabulated.

Kim Junsu’s first English single ‘Uncommitted’ is a melodious R&B song that features a collaboration with ‘Bruce Automatic’, the Sony Music composer who has worked with The Wanted and Leona Lewis, and was extremely popular in China, South America and Europe.

C-JeS Entertainment stated, “We believe this award is more meaningful because it included Kim Junsu’s rankings on the V-charts in 2012. Kim Junsu is extremely happy and thankful to have received an award at an overseas awards ceremony with no promotions other than releasing the music video and holding concerts, and he plans to give his thanks through a video soon.”

A representative in the music industry stated, “After JYJ’s Tokyo Dome concert (The return of the JYJ), ‘Uncommitted’ topped Amazon Japan’s K-POP charts, proving just how popular the song is. The reception from Europe and South America has been explosive since Kim Junsu’s 13-city world tour last year.”

‘Paradise Ranch’, which starred TVXQ’s Max Changmin, will be aired once more in Japan in April.
