“I was in the same class as Yunho from Grade 2 to Grade 5 in elementary school. When we were in the 5th grade, Yunho transferred schools, so we were separated. We met again in high school, but I transferred to Seoul after less than a year, so we were separated again. At that time, we lost contact. Then Yunho became a star, and we managed to contact each other again after that. I am very happy to be able to see him.”

Did you tell him you were going to debut as a singer?
“Yes of course. Yunho tried really hard to talk me out of it. He told me that the life of an artist was very tiring and very difficult. Also, it was not guaranteed that I would do well. It seems he could not bear to see a friend suffer. Even so, when I really stood in the recording studio, the first person to come visit and give me support was Yunho.”

[TRANS] 120220 Fans Of Park Yoochun Donate 13 Million Won In Support Of “Rooftop Prince”

 Fans of JYJ member Park Yoochun have shown their support for Yoochun’s drama “Rooftop Prince” via charitable activities.

Mickyfan.com, Park Yoochun’s Nanal, and Blessing Yoochun came together to form the “Park Yoochun Fan Alliance” and made a donation to the Happybean campaign with their wishes for “Rooftop Prince” to be successful.

Related personnel said that this donation activity collected about 13 Million Won, including 5 Million won in cash as well as 8 Million won worth of rice, instant noodles and other items.

Currently, the exact beneficiary has not been confirmed, but plans have been made to help the elderly who are living alone in the winter, as well as low income classrooms and other people in need.

The fanclubs in the Park Yoochun Fan Alliance expressed that this is not their first donation. In the past year, they have donated 60 million won in cash to multi-cultural families, as well as 3.2 tonnes of rice and 2 million won of books.

The drama “Rooftop Prince” which stars Park Yoochun as the main lead, is a story about the crown prince Lee Gak who travels 300 years into the future, to modern day Seoul, and falls in love. It will start airing on SBS on 14 March.

 Editors Note: A Belated Look At Valentines Day

      Holidays are wonderful. They take the drab out of our existence and give us opportunity to relate to loved ones and friends. For some, however, holidays can be a hurting time. Singles, especially, may find Valentines Day to be a hard holiday to embrace.

     I can remember being single. It was a lonely existence with time spent working; visiting family and friends; fishing and bowling–just in an attempt to fill my hours and keep my thoughts off of going home to my empty house. I can remember driving down to the ocean and staring out at the water while bemoaning my single state. I am an extreme extravert–and being alone for me was not a good thing then or now.

     I listen to my daughters, both single, and realize that they also struggle with this love holiday. While they are searching and praying for their special person, it is emotionally trying to view everyone else around them in relationships. They struggle with the decision to attend a valentine’s party, or not? What they do not realize is that the state of being single also has it’s own merit.

     When you are single you can choose to make your own agenda. You can motor to a quiet spot on a whim; go shopping without extreme guilt, or sleep in (a rare privilege for us married folk). There are none to argue with your politics unless you choose to allow them. You can invest and save for a rainy day and…you can buy a luxury car or a sports car because you are usually the only occupant. In other words you have more freedom. On the down side–you may experience less social interaction.

     There are some single people who love being single. They surround themselves with family and/or friends and choose to live a single lifestyle. They are happy in the knowledge that this is their choice, and many are true nurturers. They become the aunties and uncles that shower love on everyone.

    I guess this all boils down to realizing that the old axiom, “grass is always greener on the other side” may not always be true. Not all singles want married bliss, although  I can safely say that most do, and not all marrieds want to stay married. Marriage is hard work and extreme commitment,and is definitely not for the faint of heart!!

     That said, Valentines Day can be painful for singles and marrieds alike. So the next time you bemoan your fate as a single on Valentines Day, please remember that there are widow(ers), divorced persons, and people in abuse situations out there. Valentines Day is a struggle for them also.

On February 17th, the above photos were posted by a netizen on an online community site. The snapshots were taken while Park Yoochun was filming ‘Attic Prince‘, and he is seen wearing a bright red tracksuit while fellow cast member Jung Suk Won was dressed in the same tracksuit in blue. ‘Moon-Sun‘ actor Lee Minho was also seen dressed in green.

Netizens found these photos rather hilarious, as the three of them looked like the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

We are sorry for the changes in the screening of the JYJ daily documentary “The Day” .

The JYJ daily documentary cinema edition was to commemorate Valentine’s Day in February, but it was cancelled unilaterally by CGV due to contractual issues.

Initially, we also considered delaying the screening or amending the contract so that the contract could be effected, but eventually we made the announcement to the fans for the cancellation of the screening.

We had produced this cinema version because this documentary that could not be broadcast, to cater to the local fans. It is a pity that we can only choose to screen it in theaters. However, the determination of wanting to share this movie with the local fans callled to us, and we worked hard to reach an agreement with Lotte Cinema, and managed to screen the movie within the shortest time possible. Also, there will be a special stage greeting from JYJ for the first day and weekend screenings.

We would also like to clarify that this is a reproduced version of the TV documentary, that was edited for cinema screening, so please bear this special circumstance in mind when watching the film. Please meet with the normal, yet extremely special daily lives of JYJ from one year ago~!

From 23 – 26 February, “The Day” will be aired in 17 theaters across the country. Please give this film lots of love.

Tickets will go on sale from 20 February, further details will be provided on the C-JeS and Lotte Cinema (（http://www.lottecinema.co.kr/) homepages before 17 February.

Acting as the crown princess in the MBC Wednesday-Thursday drama “The Moon Embracing The Sun,” Kim So Hyun received news of her participation in the SBS drama “Rooftop Prince” and fell for the charms of Park Yoochun, and caught the attention of the netizens.

On 14 February, Kim So Hyun sent a message via her personal twitter, saying “Haha, do you still not see it? With one look, ah! My favourite crown prince! That’s crown prince Park Yoochun. When he found out that we share the same birthday he greeted me happily, and I’m totally touched. From now on, my ideal type is crown prince Park Yoochun,” and uploaded a picture together with this tweet. Kim So Hyun and Park Yoochun share the same birthday, on 4 June.

In the photo, Kim So Hyun is dressed neatly in a hanbok, and smiling at the camera. You can see the drama set behind her in the background.

The screenplay writer of SBS drama “Rooftop Prince” which will begin its broadcast in March this year, Lee Hui Myung, has explained that the reason why Park Yoochun was selected as the male lead was his “extraordinary charm”.

Lee Hui Myung, who wrote several representative romantic comedies such as “Mr. Q” (1998), “tomato” (1999) and “Success Story of a Bright Girl” (2002), spoke about his thoughts and revelations prior to the broadcast of “Rooftop Prince.”

“Rooftop Prince” is about the crown prince of the chosun dynasty who loses his beloved princess then travels with his consorts 300 years into the future to the modern day to continue his unfinished romance, a fantasy-romantic comedy. It features Park Yoochun, Han Ji Min, Jung Yoo Mi and others.

In this drama, the scriptwriter said that reason why the main character was planned to be a crown prince was that “Disregarding reality, but from a drama point of view, relationships that transcend the differences between a man and a woman are the ones that receive the best response from the audience.  This is why you often see young CEOs with a chairman for a father, or a manager. So I thought, what would be of an even higher status than a CEO or someone with a chairman for a father, and I felt that using a king or crown prince would be possible.”

Aside from the characters, when talking about why he chose to use time travel as the setting, he said, “If a flower boy from the Chosun dynasty appeared in modern day Seoul, how would he be treated. Unlike the modern days, his character and manner would be more traditional, and if the guy who had come was not a handsome man, how would it be….it seemed to be really interesting to imagine these scenarios. “

With regards to Kim Min Jong and Song Yun Ah, who starred in “Mr. Q”, and Jang Nara, who starred in “Success Story of a Bright Girl” and became immensely popular, he said, “I never once thought that these actors became successful because of me. Instead, it is all thanks to their star factor and acting skills, as well as exceptional direction, that allowed my scripts to be a success.”

Talking about Park Yoochun, who  plays the crown prince and lead for the drama, he said, “As an actor, Park Yoochun has always been using a gentle image to define his role as an actor. As the Crown Prince Lee Gak, he has to be a character with exceptional charisma, and I think that Park Yoochun has that potential, and I am looking forward to it. Looking at this, if he does well, the drama will be successful, and I feel that Park Yoochun will also have chances to play other kinds of roles.”

“Rooftop Prince” which is a collaboration between screenplay writer Lee Hui Myung and director Shin Yoon Seob, will be aired after “Please take care of us, Captain” in March.

The soccer team FC MEN, which JYJ’s Kim Junsu (25) is the captain of, will be holding a Tohoku Earthquake Charity match at the Kokuritsu Kyougijou (National Stadium) on 28 April.

The opponent will be “Team Yoshimoto + Selected Artists Team”. Members of this team include JichouKachou’s Kawamoto Junichi (36), Shizuru’s Murakami Jun (31), Penalty’s Wacky and others.

“Scheduled to make an appearance for the Korean team are Junsu, his brother Juno (25), 3 members from Beast, Yeoseob (22), Ki Kwang (21) and Doojoon (22), Shinhwa’s Minwoo (32), 5 members from the rookie group M.E.N., that are expected to make their debut in Japan this year, and others.” (Organizing Personnel)

This team, with a line-up of handsome K-Pop idols, are the strongest eleven, who have won the Korean Entertainer’s Soccer League tournament. According to the official website of the team, SS501′s leader Kim Hyunjoong (25) and JYJ’s Yoochun (25) are also members.

“Practice is 3 times a week, for 3 hours each day. In preparation for the match, the focus now is on set-pieces. The mood-maker, Junsu, is the most fired up.” (Organizing Personnel)

Team leader Junsu is also concerned with strengthening the friendship between the members. The team moves as a group to the practice grounds in the same bus, and during trainings, he encourages them to shout out loud energetically and enjoy themselves. While in the bus on their way back to Seoul, it is also routine for the members to have an “evaluation session” facilitated by Junsu.

“(The team) goes out for meals or to bowl, and their cohesiveness has increased. They do not drink alcohol. For bowling, Junsu’s brother, JUNO, is the best at it. With consecutive strikes, he (once got) a high score of 200 points, his average score is 170 points.” (Relevant Team Personnel)

K-Pop performances are also being planned for that day, and more than 50,000 audiences are expected to be at the National Stadium. It seems like it will be an anticipated match between Japan and Korea.
