[TRANS] 131208 ‘Three Days’, Which Had Been Postponed Indefinitely, Is Confirmed To Air In February

chunniesuitthreedays

‘Three Days’, the SBS drama that was postponed indefinitely, has been confirmed to air in February.

According to the broadcasting company, ‘Three Days’ was originally set to air after the SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘You, Who Came From the Stars’. The drama was set to begin filming in December and air in February, but was postponed indefinitely due to a difference in opinions between the broadcasting company and the production company. There were some who believed that political pressure played a role in delaying the drama as it deals with a sensitive topic of the president’s personal life, but it was confirmed that political pressure played no part in any of the decisions.

In a phone conversation on the 4th, a representative of ‘Three Days’ gave a slightly positive response as he said, “It’s true that the drama was postponed. However, it seems to be due to a miscommunication that arose between the production company and SBS. The problem will be ironed out soon.”

It was later stated that the broadcasting company and production company were able to come to an agreement on the schedule of the drama.

Meanwhile, ‘Three Days’ is a Korean blockbuster drama that depicts the disappearance of the president with three gun shots, and his bodyguards’ desperate efforts to find him. The drama has already garnered great attention for bringing together PD Shin Kyung Soo and screenwriter Kim Eun Hui. Confirmed cast members are Sohn Hyun Joo, Park Yoochun, Park Ha Sun, Yoon Jae Moon, So Yi Hyun, and Jang Hyun Sung. They are currently preparing to begin shooting.

[TRANS] 131103 We Now Understand Why Everyone Gets So Crazy About Kim Jaejoong (Concert Review)

jaeseoulwwwcoex

At 6pm on the 3rd of November, the Seoul leg of Kim Jaejoong’s ’1st Album Asia Tour Concert’ for his first full-length solo album ‘WWW: Who, When, Why’ was held at Hall D in COEX. Having been held across two days on the 2nd and 3rd of November, the concert attracted a total of 14,000 fans who became one with Kim Jaejoong.

He was off with a bang from the very start. The lights were turned off inside the venue and once the video began playing, fans turned on their red light sticks and created a sea of red. The singer had everyone gasping with the sheer scale and stage effects of his first performance of the night. When the music for ’9+1#’ began, all the fans got on their feet, something that usually only happens halfway through a normal concert. And it wasn’t just the people sitting in the front. Everyone, all the way to the back of the seating arrangement, got up. This is the power of Kim Jaejoong.

After his performance, Kim Jaejoong joked and had everyone laughing when he said, “There’s something different from last night. I even see someone wearing hanbok (traditional Korean attire)? The atmosphere is quite different from yesterday. Yesterday, people were just sitting, even during the more upbeat songs. Halfway through a song, I had to ask everyone to get up. I think most of the people in the audience yesterday were in their 40s to 70s. So thank you all for screaming and cheering so loudly tonight.”

Kim Jaejoong then moved on to performances of ‘Rotten Love’, ‘Kiss B’, ‘Now is Good’, ‘It Used to Be’, ‘Sunny Day’ with Lee Sang Gon (Noeul), and ‘Luvholic’ with Gummy. Kim Jaejoong also performed his personal favorites such as ‘Glamorous Sky’, a song composed by Japanese rock star Haido, and ‘Ultra Soul’, which was sung by Japanese group B’z, as well as ‘Makeup’, which he translated the lyrics of himself.

jaeseoulwwwcoex1

◆7+7 = Kim Jaejoong
Even from the very beginning, he caught the attention of every person in the room. Kim Jaejoong appeared in a jacket covered in black feathers. Capturing the hearts of the audience with a revealing outfit, Kim Jaejoong went full-force from the get-go, as if he was repaying the fans for their applause. The singer acted cute and said, “My outfits a bit… I’m sorry but I don’t have anything else to change in to. You want me to take it off? You probably want that, don’t you? Then you all have to strip too. Why should I be the only one who strips?” Kim Jaejoong even casually took off his jacket and got changed on stage, showing how relaxed a 10-year veteran could be.

Having already announced that he wouldn’t hold back in the night’s performance as it was the last performance in Seoul, Kim Jaejoong’s true talent as a rock star shone through in ‘Light’ and ‘Glamorous Sky’ Wearing a pink leather jacket, Kim Jaejoong traveled a lap around the concert venue on a moving stage to check the reaction of his fans. During the concert, Kim Jaejoong went backstage with a camera to have a sincere chat with his fans. He sang Gummy’s ‘I should have at least become your friend’ and performed the ‘Gwiyomi Song’ up to 7+7, giving it his all.

◆An honest story about love
Through videos that were shown during the concert, Kim Jaejoong took some time to make honest confessions about his thoughts and feelings. Born in 1986. 28 years old in Korean age. With his 10th anniversary coming on the 26th of December, Kim Jaejoong has gotten more honest and more daring. He didn’t hold back in expressing his thoughts about being an idol and about his love life. Seeing idol singer Kim Jaejoong like this may have seemed strange to many. But his sincerity got through to his fans. Autumn is usually the season of emotions, and it may have been the season to discuss love.

Kim Jaejoong said, “I want to be called an idol singer forever. I’ve never once wanted to shed that title,” and expressed his satisfaction about his life. Regarding love, Kim Jaejoong honestly confessed, “Now that I’m 28, I’ve become a little more relaxed about things. A lot of people around me are getting married, but I don’t have any thoughts about marriage yet. I do want to date though. The hardest thing in the world is talking about love. I’m scared of loving someone because I’m scared of what happens when you break up with that person. So there are many times when my love ends after a quick burst of emotion. But I still want to fall in love. How could you ever survive without love for a single day?” Kim Jaejoong’s fans gave a slightly chilled response of, “Can you not,” and had everyone there chuckling.

jaeseoulwwwcoex2

◆A stage that is undisputedly perfect
The concert started and finished with love, the theme of Kim Jaejoong’s latest album ‘WWW’. The singer wrote lyrics for ten of the tracks in the album, and expressed everything from a first love’s racing heart, a sorrowed story of a lost love, a strong love for his fans, and the pain of a twisted love. The lighting equipment and concepts seemed to reflect these emotions perfectly to create a drama.

3D VJ videos played on the 12m-long, 21m-high LED and various LED screens and curtain LEDs that were installed on stage during his hard rock performances, and the special effects and music on the 70m-long stage had the fans cheering. During his grunge rock and pop rock songs, the stage seemed to transform the venue into a rock festival.

◆Even the guests who attended were off the charts
Even the guests who attended the concert shone brightly. Kim Bum Soo and Moo Myung Jin performed with Kim Jaejoong the night before, and the singer was joined by Lee Sang Gon (Noeul) and Gummy on the 3rd. Lee Sang Gon had the audience laughing with witty comments like, “I’m a bit nervous, so I’m going to drink some of Jaejoong’s water,” and also sang ‘Proposal’ because, “Jaejoong’s future wife might be in this very room right now.” He had everyone cheering as he took on a song that is difficult enough for four people to sing, let alone a single individual.

Gummy didn’t disappoint either. Appearing for the first time since moving to the same agency as Kim Jaejoong, Gummy appeared with a powerful burst of energy that filled the venue. Gummy had everyone cheering with a rendition of her song ‘Childish Adult’ and ‘Snowflake’, her OST for the SBS drama ‘That Winter, the Wind Blows’. They were also joined by Hong Seok Chun in the audience, who got up during the ‘Innocence and Impurity’ dress code event and began appealing to the camera. Seeing this, Kim Jaejoong shouted out, “Stop it, baby!”

[TRANS] 131011 The End Of 2013 To Feature Three New Musicals, ‘Fans Are Already Excited’

threenewmusicals

The end-of-the-year season is approaching the musical industry. Though it’s only mid-October, musical fans are already excited. Especially consdiering the fact that some concerts already have begun selling tickets, people are busy looking for great musicals to watch and nabbing the best seats in the house.

The hottest musicals that are set to make their debut this year are ‘Wicked’ (Korean), ‘December: The Song That Hasn’t Ended’ and ‘Ghost’. All three will be making their debut in the Korean industry for the first time. Considering the fact that it’s difficult to gauge how good a musical is if it’s never been shown before, it’s natural for musical lovers to be skeptical about these productions. Because of this, ‘Wicked’ is obviously the favorite of the list with a 96% ticket reservation rate (Interpark), attracting 200,000 people in the shortest time ever. Musical columnist Jung Da Hoon stated, “It’s not easy to guess the success level of a debuting musical,” and “Considering the fact that ‘Wicked’ has a storyline and music that has already been recognized, many are excited for it.”

‘Ghost’, which comes all the way from the 5-trillion Won industry of the UK’s West End, stands out as having a well-built storyline, which is familiar as the movie the musical is based on was released in Korea in 1990. The original movie’s popularity and familiarity are the greatest weapon of ‘Ghost’.

‘December’ is in the most unfavorable position as it has never been shown before. However, it has more than enough up its sleeve to come out on top. Bringing in Kim Junsu, who has the biggest ‘ticket power’ in the industry, and teaming him up with Kim Kwang Seok’s music. The smart choices made by NEW, the movie production company making its debut in the musical industry with the upcoming production, have proven that ‘December’ is a force to be reckoned with. Many representatives in the industry have voiced their opinion that in terms of competitiveness of cast members, ‘December’ comes out on top though ‘Wicked’ has Ok Joo Hyun and ‘Ghost’ has Joo Won. Some are saying that having Kim Junsu on the cast list is enough to guarantee success. Musical columnist Park Jung Hwan stated, “Kim Junsu, who has the greatest ticket power in the musical industry, and Kim Kwang Seok’s music have teamed up,” and “The synergy those two will create is astronomical.”

yunhomanfromthestarsU-Know Yunho, an actor and a member of TVXQ, may be ready to return to the drama industry.

U-Know Yunho is currently in discussions to appear in SBS’ new Wednesday-Thursday miniseries ‘Man From the Stars’. A drama representative stated, “The discussions with U-Know Yunho’s representatives are headed in a positive direction. Though his appearance isn’t confirmed, it is highly likely.”

The part that U-Know Yunho is gearing up to play is Lee Hwi Kyung, the son of a chaebol. Though he is the fiancee of Chunsong (Jeon Ji Hyun), he feels helpless because he doesn’t know what to do about Chunsong’s indifference towards him. He will compete against Do Min Joon (Kim Soo Hyun) for Chunsong’s affection.

If U-Know Yunho’s appearance is confirmed, ‘Man From the Stars’ will feature the greatest lineup to grace the drama industry. The drama representative stated, “Kim Soo Hyun and Jeon Ji Hyun have already signed on to the drama, and if U-Know Yunho, the Hallyu Wave’s most representative star, joins them, this drama will become a true Hallyu drama that will be popular both domestically and internationally.”

Since ending his role in the SBS drama ‘Queen of Ambition’ early this year, U-Know Yunho has been focusing on his activities as a singer. U-Know Yunho took on the role of a character who would die for a woman in ‘Queen of Ambition’ and was praised for his improved acting skills.

‘Man From the Stars’ will be written by Park Ji Eun, who created the nationally loved drama ‘You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly’ and will depict the love of an actress and a talented and handsome alien who has been alive for 400 years.

[News] 130903 JYJ to Visit The Philippines in November

jyjasiangamesorgaizingcommitteeJYJ members Junsu, Jaejoong and Yoochun with Asian Games Organizing Committee President Kim Young-soo (Photo courtesy of 2014 Asian Incheon Games website)

K-pop boy band JYJ will visit the Philippines in November as honorary ambassador to promote the 17th Asian Games that will be held in Incheon, South Korea, next year.

The popular group is scheduled to do a roadshow to promote the Games in four countries starting this month.

According to C-JeS Entertainment, the band’s agency, JYJ will attend a video conference interview for Singapore on Sept. 26followed by media and cultural events in Vietnam and Guangzhou, China, on Oct. 24 and Nov. 21, respectively.

JYJ is scheduled to go to an Asian Games media event in Boracay in Aklan in southern Philippines at the end of November.

The band was appointed as honorary ambassador of the Incheon Asian Games in February.

However, certain parties are preventing JYJ from promoting Asian Games in their own country.

Despite that the band is the honorary ambassador of the Games, JYJ was excluded from attending the Incheon Korean Music Wave 2013 concert held last Sept. 1 at the Incheon Munhak World Cup Stadium.

About 40,000 fans went to the concert which was participated in by 20 K-pop groups including Girls’ Generation, Super Junior, KARA, FT Island, EXO, miss A, BEAST and 2AM.

According to the 2014 Incheon Asian Games website, the concert “was part of a series of events to mark the one year remaining until the opening of the Games on September 19, 2014.”

C-JeS said JYJ was not included in the concert despite that it raised a formal objection to the organizing committee.

“Of course, we have raised a formal objection to the organizing committee because, from a common sense point of view, it is unacceptable for JYJ, honorary ambassadors of the IAG, not to attend the event which has to do with promoting the IAG,” C-JeS said, according to a translation by fansite Jaetaku on WordPress.com.

The agency said the Games organizing committee sided with it and requested people in charge of the concert including TV station MBC, the host TV station of the event, to include JYJ.

The organizing committee was informed by the Incheon Development and Tourism Corporation (IDTC) that it was impossible to have JYJ at the event.

According to C-JeS, the committee’s request was not for JYJ to perform at the concert but only to introduce the Incheon Asian Games and announce their upcoming overseas promotional activities.

MBC and IDTC turned down the committee’s request, C-JeS said.

JYJ has been unable to perform on TV music and entertainment programs in South Korea since 2010 stemming from a legal dispute between the boy band and SM Entertainment.

Last November, JYJ and SM Entertainment settled their legal problem.

Last July, Korea’s Fair Trade Commission issued an order against entertainment and media organizations in Korea that have obstructed JYJ’s TV appearances.

Despite the order and the lawsuit settlement, JYJ is still being prevented from appearing on TV.

C-JeS said despite the roadblocks, JYJ is committed to spreading Korean culture and raising awareness about the Asian Incheon Games, which will be held from September to October 2014 in South Korea.

C-JeS thanked the Games organizing committee and the Mayor of Incheon for acknowledging the importance of JYJ as honorary ambassadors of the Asian Games.

“JYJ are going to do their best to spread the excellence of the Korean culture and to raise the awareness of the IAG 2014 as its honorary ambassadors by making a tour of several Asian countries,” the agency said.
