JYJ Kim Junsu: Solo Album Released Under “Restrictions” Circumstances

His first album was seen as a protest against JYJ’s restriction. To this, Kim Junsu felt disheartened.

When JYJ, who used to be a part of TVXQ, was resolving their contract with SM Entertainment, their company filed for their restriction from appearing on any music programmes or performances. The court later on ruled against the filing, however it was said that due to SM Entertainment’s strong influence, Korean broadcasting companies had to “show some respect and gave in”. Though the filing for restriction was ruled as invalid, JYJ is still under restriction circumstances.

It has been 8 years since Kim Junsu debuted and when he released his solo album “Tarantallegra”, he continued to be absent from all music programmes, causing rumours of the “restrictions” once again.

He helplessly said, “It was not easy during the production. Especially under the circumstances knowing that I was not able to promote it on television programmes. Therefore I emphasized more on the vocal quality and MV filming. But what troubled me was that, the album was seen as me using my own energy to protest against certain issues.”

Though he was unable to escape from the rumours, his album was a big sell-out. His Asia tour tickets were selling fast and almost every stop was sold out. The 17000 tickets in Seoul was in fact sold out in 15 minutes.

JYJ Park Yoochun envied Kim Junsu’s solo album and expressed, “Looking at Junsu’s album, it’s as though my wish was fulfilled. I am proud of him and no one else can do it better than him. Therefore I want to thank him for making JYJ shine so brightly.”

Colorado Movie Theater Shooting: Suspect Bought 4 Guns, 6,000 Rounds of Ammunition in Past 60 Days

ABC NEWS–GOOD MORNING AMERICA

Colorado Movie Theater Shooting: Suspect Bought 4 Guns, 6,000 Rounds of Ammunition in Past 60 Days

By CLAYTON SANDELL (@Clayton_Sandell) , KEVIN DOLAK (@kdolak) and COLLEEN CURRY

AURORA, Colo. July 20, 2012

Suspected Colorado movie theater gunman James Holmes purchased four guns at local shops and more than 6,000 rounds of ammunition on the Internet in the past 60 days, Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates told a news conference this evening.

“All the ammunition he possessed, he possessed legally, all the weapons he possessed, he possessed legally, all the clips he possessed, he possessed legally,” an emotional Oates said.

The chief declined to say whether the weapons were automatic or semi-automatic, but “he could have gotten off 50 to 60 rounds, even if it was semi-automatic, within one minute,” Oates said.

Authorities have yet to identify the 10 victims who died at the theater. Two other people died at the hospital, including 24-year-old aspiring sportscaster Jessica Ghawi, for a total of 12 dead. Thirty people remained hospitalized, 11 of them in critical condition, Oates said.

Fifty eight people were injured, most of them by gunfire but a “handful” during the ensuing chaos, Oates said. One person was hit in an adjacent theater.

As for the dead, Oates said he hoped soon to get a “confirmed list of the 10 deceased and we will begin the agonizing process of meeting with those families and confirming what has happened to their loved ones.”

Gov. John Hickenlooper opened the news conference this evening, saying, “We are seeing this community rise up and do the things that communities do.

At times lost for words, he repeatedly praised the efforts of the first responders.

The shooting occurred during a sold-out midnight premiere of the new Batman movie, “The Dark Knight Rises,” when Holmes, 24, allegedly unloaded four weapons’ full of ammunition into the unsuspecting crowd.

The number of casualties makes the incident the largest mass shooting in U.S. history.

An honors student and Ph.D. candidate at a nearby college with a clean arrest record, Holmes allegedly entered the movie auditorium wearing a ballistics helmet, bulletproof vest, bulletproof leggings, gas mask and gloves. He detonated multiple smoke bombs, and then began firing at viewers in the sold-out auditorium, police said today.

Holmes, who is being held in jail and will make his first court appearance Monday, is originally from Riverside, Calif., where he attended the University of California branch, Oates told the news conference this evening. “Neighbors report that he lived alone and kept to himself,” Oates added.

Oates also offered a warning about the veracity of online information. “In the era of blogs,” he said, “and everything else, we just caution you that everything you read may not be true.”

Colorado ‘Dark Knight’ Shooting Witness: I Saw A Guy Right Next To Me Getting Shot

He added that two local high schools will be offering grief counseling Saturday.

Bullets from the shooting spree tore through the theater and into adjoining theaters, where at least one other person was struck and injured. Ten members of “The Dark Knight Rises” audience were killed in the theater, while two others died later at area hospitals. Numerous patrons were in critical condition at six local hospitals, the Aurora police said this afternoon.

Authorities began removing the bodies this afternoon, according to ABC News Denver affiliate KMGH-TV. Several people have been reported missing as the coroner identifies the dead.

Holmes was apprehended within minutes of the 12:39 a.m. shooting at his car behind the theater, where police found him in full riot gear and carrying three weapons, including an AR-15 assault rifle, which can hold upwards of 100 rounds, a Remington 12-gauge shotgun, and a .40 Glock handgun. A fourth handgun was found in the vehicle.

Agents from the federal bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms are tracing the weapons.

According to police sources, Holmes told the officers arresting him that he was “The Joker,” referring to the villain in the second installment of the Batman movie trilogy, “The Dark Knight.” He also warned police that he had booby-trapped his apartment, leading officers to evacuate the Aurora apartment building.

Chief Oates earlier today said that police, bomb squads and the ATF have found a large number of explosive devices and trip wires at Holmes’ apartment and have not yet decided how to proceed without setting off explosions.

“The pictures we have from inside the apartment are pretty disturbing considering how elaborate the apartment is booby trapped,” police said outside of the apartment complex today. The “flammable and explosive” materials could have blown up Holmes’ apartment building and the ones near it, police said.

The apartment complex is home exclusively to University of Colorado Medical Center students, patients and staff members, residents told ABC News.

Oates this evening said police will allow residents to retrieve personal belongings but leave the booby-trapped apartment alone for now, and inspect them Saturday with the help of federal law enforcement. Residents are staying at a local high school in the meantime. Oates didn’t know many people are displaced from the five apartment buildings involved.

Moviegoer Christopher Ramos today recalled the real-life horror of the midnight premiere of the latest Batman movie, “The Dark Knight Rises,” in Aurora, Colo., as a gunman decked in riot gear set off smoke bombs and opened fire on the unsuspecting audience.

“People were running everywhere, running on top of me, like kicking me, jumping over me. And there were bodies on the ground,” Ramos said. “I froze up. I was scared. I honestly thought I was going to die.”

“The image in our heads is stuck in there. I still have the ticket right here and, honestly, I’m never going to forget this night at all. Because it was the first time I saw something that was real. Like a real-life nightmare that was there, not dreaming of,” Ramos told ABC News today.

Witnesses in the movie theater said they saw smoke and heard gunshots that they thought were part of the movie until they saw Holmes standing in front of the screen, after entering from an emergency exit. Holmes methodically stalked the aisles of the theater, shooting people at random, as panicked movie-watchers in the packed auditorium tried to escape, witnesses said.

At one point the shooter exited the theater only to wait outside the doors and pick off patrons as they tried to exit, witness Jennifer Seeger told “Good Afternoon America.”

AURORA, Colo. July 20, 2012

“You just smelled smoke and you just kept hearing it, you just heard bam bam bam, non-stop. The gunman never had to reload. Shots just kept going, kept going, kept going,” one witness told ABC News.

“I’m with coworkers and we’re on the floor praying to God we don’t get shot, and the gunshots continue on and on, and when the sound finally stopped, we started to get up and people were just bleeding,” another theatergoer said.

The suspected shooter will face his first court appearance next week, according to district attorney Carol Chambers.

Holmes, originally of San Diego, moved to Aurora to pursue his Ph.D. at the University of Colorado medical center, living blocks from the hospital in an apartment that police say is now laced with explosives and being searched by HazMat teams.

Federal law enforcement sources told ABC News that Holmes bought a ticket to the movie, slipped out of the theater once it began and propped open the emergency exit before gathering his weapons and gear and coming back into the theater. Once inside, he opened fire.

A San Diego woman identifying herself as James Holmes’ mother spoke briefly with ABC News this morning.

She had awoken unaware of the news of the shooting and had not been contacted by authorities. She immediately expressed concern that her son might have been involved.

“You have the right person,” she said.

“I need to call the police,” she added. “I need to fly out to Colorado.”

The woman and her husband later released a statement saying their “hearts go out to those who involved in this tragedy and to the families and friends of those involved. We are still trying to process this information and we appreciate that people will respect our privacy.”

The highly anticipated third installment of the Batman trilogy opened to packed auditoriums across the country at midnight showings this morning, and features a villain named Bane who wears a bulletproof vest and gas mask. Trailers for the movie show explosions at public events, including a football game. Though many moviegoers dressed in costume to attend the opening-night screening, police have made no statements about any connection between the gunman’s motives and the movie.

Police in New York have intensified security around showings of the film throughout the five boroughs today, with Police Commissioner Ray Kelley saying that “as a precaution against copycats and to raise the comfort levels among movie patrons in the wake of the horrendous shooting in Colorado, the New York City Police Department is providing coverage at theaters where the ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is playing.”

The Paris premiere of the movie has been cancelled in the wake of the shootings. “Warner Bros. and the filmmakers are deeply saddened to learn about this shocking incident. We extend our sincere sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims at this tragic time,” the movie’s producers said in a statement.

Witnesses watching movies in theaters next to the one where the shooting took place said bullets tore through the theater walls and they heard screaming.

“The suspect throws tear gas in the air, and as the tear gas appears he started shooting,” said Lamar Lane, who was watching the midnight showing of the movie with his brother. “It was very hard to breathe. I told my brother to take cover. It took awhile. I started seeing flashes and screaming, I just saw blood and people yelling and a quick glimpse of the guy who had a gas mask on. I was pushed out. There was chaos, we started running.”

One witness said she saw people dropping to the ground after the gunshots began.

“We were maybe 20 or 30 minutes into the movie and all you hear, first you smell smoke, everybody thought it was fireworks or something like that, and then you just see people dropping and the gunshots are constant,” witness Christ Jones told ABC’s Denver affiliate KMGH. “I heard at least 20 to 30 rounds within that minute or two.”

A man who talked to a couple who was inside the theater told ABC News, “They got up and they started to run through the emergency exit, and that when she turned around, she said all she saw was the guy slowly making his way up the stairs and just firing at people, just picking random people.

“The gunshots continued to go on and on and then after we didn’t hear anything …we finally got up and there was people bleeding, there was people obviously may have been actually dead or anything, and we just ran up out of there, there was chaos everywhere.”

Witnesses and victims were taken to Gateway High School for questioning.

Hundreds of police and FBI agents are involved in the investigation. A senior official who is monitoring the situation in Washington said that early guidance based on the early snapshot of this man’s background indicated that this act does not appear to be linked to radical terrorism or anything related to Islamic terrorism.

Dr. Comilla Sasson, at the University of Colorado Hospital where many of the victims were taken, said they were operating on nine critical patients and have treated 22 in all. She called the hospital “an absolutely terrifying scene all night.”

“The good news is that the 3-month-old has actually been discharged home and is in the care of their parents.”

In a statement, President Obama said, “Michelle and I are shocked and saddened by the horrific and tragic shooting in Colorado. Federal and local law enforcement are still responding, and my administration will do everything that we can to support the people of Aurora in this extraordinarily difficult time. We are committed to bringing whoever was responsible to justice, ensuring the safety of our people, and caring for those who have been wounded.”

[Pic+Trans] 120719 Star Selca: Message From Dr Jin’s Jaejoong‏

[Pic+Trans] 120719 Star Selca: Message From Dr Jin’s Jaejoong‏

The message left on the filming set by Jaejoong, who have been into the character of Kim Kyung Tak since May.

Hi everyone, I am Jaejoong who is acting as Kim Kyung Tak in Dr Jin. Everyone has been keeping up with the broadcast, right? ^^ I received a lot of energy from every viewers’ passionate attention and love. Even under such a hot summer, wearing hanbok and perspiring, I am still smiling while filming. As this is my first saeguk drama, I felt unfamiliar from the speaking tone to the costumes and hairstyle. But I adapted to it with the help from seniors. I am finally gotten used to the top knot that binds my forehead but the drama is ending soon. Such a pity~ Do love Dr Jin to the end~ I will also do my best till the end!

1. Are sideburns Kim Kyung Tak’s pride? ^^ I don’t really use the mirror while filming, but I will neatly arranged my sideburns after putting the topknot on.

2. Even for a while, the make up artists will come over with their brushes and touch up. You’ve worked hard. Applause

4) I re-realised the beauty of hanbok after filming Dr Jin. Even more handsome with the fan, right.

5) I got infatuated with horse riding recently. Every time when there’s a break, I will console the horse who had a tough time filming.

6) Though I practiced with Yoochun but wearing the top knot is still difficult. TT I’m so lucky that I don’t have to stick on moustache.

7) It’s always joyful to film with Yi Han hyung. I always wanted to laugh when I meet him.

8) Teacher Kim In Soo who is acting as my father. His own character is in fact 180 degrees opposite from the character~ I’m thankful that he’s always taking care of me.

 9) This is the scene where I relayed my one-sided love for Young Rae. The mushy romantic lines aren’t really suitable to me.

[News] 120714 MBC’s ‘Dr. Jin’ Extended Two Episodes

MBC’sDr. Jin‘ starring Song Seung Hun, Lee Bum Soo, and Kim Jaejoong has been extended by 2 more episodes.

A staff member at the drama said on July 12th, “We have decided to add two more episodes.  Although we started with a plan of just 20 episodes it seems that it will be hard to tie up the story so for the sake of creating a more complete story, we have decided to add the extra episodes.”  Dr. Jin is now scheduled to conclude in early August.

The actors have already shown a positive response to this idea.  Lee Bum Soo recently stated, “I hope it is 40 episodes and not 20.  It is too short for the viewers to follow the overall arc in just 20 episodes.“  Song Seung Hun said, “It is hard to show everything in just 20 episodes especially for a historical drama.

Even after the positive response from the actors, the staff was still worried on how the viewers would take the news that the show has been extended.  ‘Dr. Jin’ began airing on May 26th alongside SBS’sGentleman’s Class‘ with the plan of ending on July 29th.  A staff member said, “With the extension of our show, some people might think that we are trying to take the place of the number one show in our time slot, ‘Gentleman’s Class.’  But we never thought about the ratings when we made this decision.

Are you looking forward to the additional episodes?

[Trans] 120710 Kim Jaejoong in Dr. Jin, Acts Out BEST 3 Crying Scenes

[Trans] 120710 Kim Jaejoong in Dr. Jin, Acts Out BEST 3 Crying Scenes

Hi everyone

This is C-Jes Entertainment company.

Recently we got to see many scenes in which Kim Jaejoong showed his acting skills. In the past 10 episodes, the scene where he found out the leader of the anonymous gang was his best friend Hong Younghui, he fired the gun towards the sky howling out in pain. [NEWS] 120705 ‘Dr. Jin’ Kim Jaejoong, Secret To Acting Is ‘Tearful Eyes’?

[NEWS] 120705 ‘Dr. Jin’ Kim Jaejoong, Secret To Acting Is ‘Tearful Eyes’?

He entered hurriedly. The man who apologized several times and sat down was actor Kim Jaejoong. He is the JYJ member who is acting as an upright military officer, Kim Kyung Tak in MBC’s Dr Jin.

In the afternoon of Jul. 5, a press conference for MBC’s Dr Jin was held in Iljuk-myeon, Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. Even though filming was behind schedule and Kim Jaejoong was about 30 minutes late, we could see his look as he answered questions in the remaining time.

Kim Jaejoong “Ji Sung? Jin Yi Han? I like the both of them… Are there any other questions?”

Comparing to the usual actor, the time that Kim Jaejoong has with a horse is as much as the time he acts as a military officer in the drama. Kim Jaejoong said, “There are about one or two horses. As I rode on the same horse continuously, I became fond of it.” Hence, there was a buzz that he even rode the horse during the break and showed warm-hearted affection for it. When asked about the charm of horse riding, he smiled and said, “When it is cold, I feel warm thanks to the body temperature of the horse. When it is hot, it is cooling because of the wind.”

On receiving favourable comments about his stable performance in his first historical drama challenge, Kim Jaejoong said shyly, “It’s all thanks to the screenwriter and director. I’ve watched all the JYJ members act and I think I’m still ranked the last in acting. Even though my acting ability is lacking, I think I can still concentrate on acting the character. The viewers seem to be able to understand the character well and I want to thank them.”

However, he also depended on the know-how. He said, “In the beginning of the drama, the director frequently told me to show sadness in my eyes even when I’m smiling. Recently, I’ve been keeping his advice in mind and I’m trying my best in portraying tearful eyes during sad scenes.”

Kim Jaejoong has also become closer to his actor colleagues and is enjoying himself during filming. Most notably, he is close to actor Jin Yi Han who acts as his close friend, Hong Yong Hwi in the drama. Kim Jaejoong said, “We are originally close to each other, but we’ve grown closer because there are many scenes where we’ve to appear together. Even though he is eight years older than me, he treats me comfortably like a friend and we contact each other often.”

When asked candidly to choose who does he like better – SBS’s Protect the Boss’s Ji Sung or Jin Yi Han, he evoked laughter from the audience by saying, “I like them both…This is a tricky question. Are there any other questions?”

Lee Bumsoo “I want to give Kim Jaejoong a high score in acting”

Kim Jaejoong’s senior actors have given him a pass for his acting ability. Actor Lee Bumsoo said, “He sincerely wants to express the scenes that he is given. To concentrate on reaching his goal, he watches the actor’s acting and reacts to it. I think this is how actors learn from each other. I want to give Kim Jaejoong a high score in acting.”

This was his reason – “When Kim Jaejoong-ssi acts, it’s nice to see how he ‘feels’. He acts with his sincere feelings. He tries hard to convey [the character’s feelings] and focus on it.” Lee Bumsoo said, “It is good to see him concentrating and working hard to convey the feelings. I look forward to the scenes we have together.”

Lee Bumsoo said, “Kim Jaejoong’s fans expressed their dismay that if the number of fans I have increases, the number of Kim Kyung Tak’s fans will decrease. I want to let them know that the number of fans I have has nothing to do with the number of Kim Jaejoong’s fans.” The people in the hall laughed. Kim Jaejoong replied tactfully, “I want to say that the number of fans that I have is unrelated to Lee Bumsoo sunbae’s number of fans.”

Lastly, Kim Jaejoong expressed his resolution to finish filming the remaining episodes of Dr Jin. He said, “Kim Kyung Tak may be a heart-wrenching and foolish character to viewers, but he’s only trying to protect his own belief. I think you’ll see his pain if you only look at the surrounding situation.” He also asked for the viewers’ interest and said, “During the times when he is protecting his belief, instead of feeling sad for Kyung Tak, believe that he’ll become stronger.”

120703 Andy Griffith Dead At 86…(also George Lindsey [Goober Pyle] and Harry Morgan [MASH]) Have Died in 2012

[I will always enjoy the characters of Sheriff Andy Taylor, et al. Even though it was fictional, so much of the father in Andy Griffith was shown and it has influenced two generations…]

Andy Griffith dead at 86, friend says…
July 3, 2012, 10:46 AM EST
By Tim Molloy
TheWrap

Television icon Andy Griffith has died at 86, a friend told a North Carolina news station.

Former University of North Carolina president Bill Friday told WITN News that the “The Andy Griffith Show” and “Matlock” actor died at his home in Dare County, N.C.

Bing: More on Andy Griffith

The Dare County Sheriff’s office would only confirm to TheWrap that emergency services were sent to Griffith’s home Tuesday morning.

The actor’s agent did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

With his slow drawl and penchant for playing characters who wore their decency like a badge in shows like “The Andy Griffith Show,” the actor came to personify small town values with their emphasis on family and community. He was, in many ways, America’s sheriff.

He first came to prominence on Broadway in the 1950s in the army comedy “No Time for Sergeants” and the musical version of “Destry Rides Again.”

He would reprise his country bumpkin role in “Sergeants” for the 1958 film version, earning rave reviews and propelling the film to the top of that year’s box office winners.

But his film debut in 1957’s “A Face in the Crowd” mined a darker side of Griffith, one that he largely abandoned in favor of more populist slices of entertainment. Working with legendary director Elia Kazan, Griffith gave his finest dramatic performance as Larry “Lonesome” Rhodes, a drifter who is discovered by an ambitious producer and transformed into a national television phenomenon. With his folksy bromides, Rhodes seemed to presage such modern boob tube bloviators as Glenn Beck and Keith Olbermann and the film itself was a sly commentary on the power of television that was way ahead of its time.

Remembering Andy Griffith: Share your thoughts on Facebook

Yet it was television that would launch Griffith into the pop culture pantheon. Playing Sheriff Andy Taylor, a widower trying to raise a young son, on the long-running “The Andy Griffith Show,” the actor found the perfect vehicle for his easy-going delivery and comic talents.

Mayberry, the fictional North Carolina town where Taylor represented law and order, was populated by village eccentrics like hapless deputy Barney Fife (Don Knotts) and naive gas station attendant Gomer Pyle (Jim Nabors). Griffith provided the show’s center of gravity; his gift was to be a proxy for the audience and to respond to the antics around him instead of providing the spark to the lunacy.

Ron Howard, who played Griffith’s son on the program before starring in “Happy Days” and becoming an Oscar winning director, paid tribute to his television dad on Tuesday.

“His pursuit of excellence and the joy he took in creating served generations & shaped my life. I’m forever grateful RIP Andy,” Howard wrote.

The show they starred in together ran for eight seasons and nearly 250 episodes before wrapping up in 1968. Although it remains his most iconic role, Griffith’s generosity as an actor may have worked against him when it came to awards — he was, amazingly, never nominated for an Emmy for his work as Taylor.

But popular culture had moved very far away from the bucolic Mayberry, and throughout the 1970’s and early 80’s, Griffith struggled to establish another show as successful as “The Andy Griffith Show.” Among his failed efforts were “Headmaster” (1970), “The New Andy Griffith Show” (1971) and “The Yeagers” (1980).

As he neared his sixth decade, he finally found the right vehicle in “Matlock,” a legal drama that ran on NBC and ABC from 1986 to 1995. Griffith portrayed a folksy criminal defense lawyer with a penchant for courtroom dramatics and a love of hot dogs. The accent was the same as Taylor’s, but unlike the small-town sheriff, Matlock was a brilliant attorney with a worldliness and wiliness that allowed him to translate to modern viewers.

In addition to his acting career, Griffith was a successful recording artist. He recorded several hit albums of Christian hymns for Sparrow Records and earned a Grammy Award for his work. Perhaps his most famous recording is “The Fishin’ Hole,” the jaunty theme song to “The Andy Griffith Show.”

120702 [Dr. Jin Episode 12] Commentary–Now We’re Getting Somewhere

Hurrah and Hurrah!!!  Kim Kyung Tak and Hong Young Rae are finally alone together!!

Why is this important? Mainly because even though Kim Kyung Tak has been in love with Hong Young Rae for years–she has yet to make an effort to understand her man. Yes, her man!  I believe that they are going to be given a chance to get to know one another a little better. Maybe not by much–but enough to help Young Rae to see beyond his military air into his heart which is breaking… His friendship with Hong Young Hwi is close and enduring beyond political boundaries. I say this because I truly do not believe that Hong Young Hwi is dead. Yes, he was shot, and we watched him fall. Yet there was no noticeable splash into the river, and it was the typical peek over the ledge see no body that was used in Episode One.  O.K. O.K. I’ll lighten up.

Dr. Jin needs to get back to his 2012 lady love and no one knows it better than himself. So…he is trying to right the course of history and in that original course I personally do not believe that Hong Young Hwi dies in this way.

Anyway, back to the two estranged lovers. Somehow I believe that Hong Young Rae can soften the “Le Miserables” type character of Kim Kyung Tak. [This is my literary reference–I am occidental]. After all, he is so smitten that he will probably listen just to be with her. On his side, this gives him opportunity to talk about those things important to him. They both are grieving the ‘death’ of Hong Young Hwi. if the writers will allow them some time now or in the near future–I believe that they may be able to pull it together.

Our own Kim Jaejoong is doing a marvelous acting job as Kim Kyung Tak, and all of the cast is exemplary. My only protest–stop kicking Jaejoong!!!  😮
