It was revealed that JYJ’s Jaejoong was predicted to win Synnara Record‘s Grand Music Award for 2013 according to the results of a poll.

Jaejoong’s agency C-JeS Entertainment said on November 27, “Synnara Record held a poll from October 29 to November 26 to see who the people predicted would win the 2013 Grand Music Award and Jaejoong came in first place.  In this poll, which was under the title of ’2013 Predicted Grand Music Award,’ Jaejoong got his name in first place and proved his popularity.  In addition, he had gotten second place on Germany’s Asian music chart and first place for three weeks straight in the Korean portion of the biggest Chinese MV site Yinyuetai‘s V-Chart, proving himself without a doubt to be popular both in and out of Korea.“

Jaejoong had recently released a studio album ‘WWW: Who, When, Why,’ using rock as the grounds for an eclectic range of music.  He had been attracting a lot of attention for this album and doing well on the charts in countries all over the world.  He is currently on an Asian tour and will be performing in Nanjing, China on December 7 and Osaka, Japan on December 17-18.

Last year, our company declared war against vicious netizens who spread malicious rumors and attacks against JYJ.
The crimes of some vicious netizens have been  proven through countless lawsuits we have filed against them.
However, we would like to post the following notice as the number of incidents involving false rumors and malicious attacks being made online against the members has not decreased.

1) Our company has a special task team in charge of dealing with malicious netizens online, and they do their own monitoring and check over the screen-capture material that fans send in. This team is also in charge of a process that reports and files for legal compensation at investigative organizations, such as the police, when a crime has been verified.

2) In the case of the person who is active in DC Gallery under the ID ‘Holic’, they have not received a criminal penalty because they are a minor, and we are currently preparing a lawsuit against their parents instead. Because the truth of the crimes of ‘Holic’ have already been recognized, we ask that everyone deals with the posts of ‘Holic’ by not responding to them at all, and screen-capturing the evidence and reporting it to us. The same applies to ‘Sasahara’, who we talked about on our Japanese homepage. We are currently locked in a lawsuit with him at the Tokyo District Courts. On the 4th, SBS reported that JYJ sold out all 150,000 seats of their Tokyo Dome performances. In response to this, netizens criticized, “Those aren’t Hallyu fans, those are JYJ fans,” and “Stop generalizing JYJ’s achievements as those of the Hallyu Wave.”

JYJ held their ‘The Return of the JYJ in Tokyo’ concert from the 2nd till the 4th at Tokyo Dome. Reporting their concert, SBS stated, “With the relationship between Korea and Japan freezing up and the Hallyu Wave’s popularity dwindling in Japan, it seems as though things are getting better.” Visiting a Korea Town in Japan, the SBS reporter stated, “With a continuous string of large-scale concerts by Hallyu stars in Japan, many are curious to see if the dying popularity of the Hallyu Wave will be revived this year.”

Netizens threw sharp criticisms at SBS’ report of the concert.

One netizen (soce****) stated, “There exist Hallyu singers who can’t appear on Korean TV? And they have the nerve to slide in news about SM Town, which is part of the entertainment agency that’s stopping JYJ from performing in Korea, into news about JYJ’s concert? How underhanded. Those people aren’t Hallyu fans, they’re people who have waited for JYJ for three years. Korean broadcasting companies do all they can to stop JYJ from appearing on Korean television but once they do something amazing, they make it sound like their achievements were because of Hallyu. How disgusting.”

Other comments included, “I know for a fact that large-scale entertainment agencies have held concerts across the world using our tax money and exaggerated their successes to fill their pockets with even more money. It’s great that Hallyu is improving Korea’s image in the world, but it sickens me to see such acts by broadcasting companies who seal dirty deals with an entertainment agency that’s tying JYJ down and blocking their names from getting out… This isn’t the first time that JYJ’s achievements have been over generalized to that of K-pop as a whole.” (Daechae****)

More criticisms followed stating, “Though I can understand the broadcasting company’s desire to revive the dying popularity of the Hallyu Wave, shouldn’t it also focus on relaying news accurately? They should be focusing on how JYJ have survived and are still so popular when they haven’t been able to sing a single note on TV in many years whereas the Hallyu Wave, which was backed heavily by the government, is slowly fading away.” (soce****)

Since they beginning of their conflicts with former agency SM Entertainment, and their unilateral contract suspension by AVEX in 2010, JYJ have not been able to appear on TV or release albums through regular procedures. In November of 2012, JYJ ended their legal battle with SM Entertainment with a settlement, and won their lawsuit against AVEX in January of this year.

During a press conference on the 4th, JYJ stated, “The meaning of the first time we stood on this stage (Tokyo Dome) was ‘a new beginning’. We could have never guessed that it would be our last Japanese performance,” and “We were frustrated about not being able to perform or appear on TV, both our Korean and Japanese activities were completely blocked off.”

However, they added, “But, it was a time for us to grow and mature as people and artistes. We’re grateful for every little thing that has happened,” and “Now, even just having our voices on the radio makes us happy. We would like for this concert to be a new beginning, rather than an end.”

They continued to state, “Just because our legal issues have been resolved, doesn’t mean that the obstacles around us will go away,” and “We know that the external pressure around us might intensify. Nothing is going as we had planned. But we will do our best, however small the tasks that we’re given are.”

Meanwhile, domestic fans cheered JYJ on as they successfully completed all three of their Tokyo Dome concerts. Netizens left comments such as, “The three of you really are the representatives of Hallyu! You’re amazing! I can’t wait to see what you do next! IT IS SO DISGUSTING when corporations such as KBS try to ‘pull the wool’ over the eyes of JYJ Fans. As a “‘fanily”, we are aware of every album, and every single that JYJ puts out there. Why? It is because we love them and await every opportunity to listen to their music or watch them perform on DVD. ‘The Beginning’ is an album. In my opinion, ‘Their Rooms’ is an album accompanied by a book. After all, the book includes the lyrics to their songs. So this is my say on this KBS matter. STOP making excuses for decisions that you made to ignore, eliminate opportunity, bow to SM, etc. that are now staring you in the face.

JYJ is a quality group of talented, popular singers, composers, musicians, actors, models, director, athletes, and dancers. They are also excellent leaders. This group is more appreciated, loved, and supported than you can even imagine. So–call a spade a spade, admit your mistakes, and, in future, give our guys some much deserved respect. News 110519 KBS Explains Why They Deleted Their Statement Regarding JYJ’s Broadcast Appearances

Shortly after the release an official stance by KBS on the exclusion of JYJ from music show broadcasts and variety show programs on May 18th, JYJ’s agency, CJES Entertainment fired back with a heated response, claiming that their statements did not match up with the current situation. KBS had since deleted their post from their official site, which brought upon further speculations amongst fans.

The next day, KBS’s promotional team explained that their official statement was actually an outdated statement that was written back in February as a response to a question that was posted on their bulletin board that asked about JYJ’s lack of broadcast appearances.

KBS’s promotional team explained, “The statement was a reply to a question that our help desk received back in February, but because of a certain service error, the response was posted late, which is why we took it down shortly after.”

KBS also came forth to explain that the only reason why JYJ have not yet appeared on “K-Chart” or performed on “Music Bank” was simply because JYJ hadn’t released a new single or album since February.

They stated, “The group has only been releasing OSTs, not official albums. When they do release official albums, a decision on whether they will appear on broadcast will be made by the show’s producer.”

In contrast to KBS’s statements though, JYJ did indeed release an official album back in 2010, titled “The Beginning“, and also unveiled a ‘music essay’ back in January 2011.

So why weren’t JYJ able to perform their songs on “Music Bank”?

In the case of their music essay, it was categorized and sold as an ‘essay’ rather than a single or album. As it was considered more of a book rather than music, “Music Bank” had not taken their sale aggregations into consideration.

But in the case of “The Beginning”, the album has it clearly written on its cover, “First Worldwide Full Album“, and was even properly distributed by Warner Music.

JYJ’s agency stated, “The album ‘The Beginning’, was sold properly via a legit distribution company. However, we have never been notified by the broadcasting company regarding what measures or actions to take in order to be included in aggregation calculations for their charts. Moreover, there has never been a time when we asked why JYJ haven’t been able to appear on broadcasts. Protests that are written up on KBS’s viewers’ discussion board are not our official statements, but the opinions of the netizens.”

I believe that we have to analyze motivation and method here. The goal is to discourage producers from approaching Yoochun or JYJ with any offers of drama work based on the possibility that the producers may not be able to properly market the production due to outside interference. This is a dirty, underhanded trick that certainly needs to be approached with a unified front.on the part of the producers, promoters, and actors because it is not aimed exclusively at Yoochun or JYJ but at anyone who decides to use their talent. Who, indeed, is the best idol of the Republic of Korea chosen by her netizens?

MstarTV, the audition website for new entertainers and entertainer-hopefuls (www.mstartv) “conducted an unusual survey with the theme of “(who is) the best idol singer of the Republic of Korea?” from March 10th through March 20th,” and revealed that “JYJ won the survey with an overwhelming number as the best idol (group) of the Republic of Korea.”

In the survey, a total of ten teams of idol singers – Big Bang, TVXQ, JYJ, Shinee, 2PM, 2AM, B2ST, MBLAQ, Infinite, Teen Top – were selected as candidates and furiously competed.
