[Trans] 120202 TVXQ Changmin To Act In Izutsu Kazuyuki’s Movie ‘Hold Onto The Gold And Fly’‏

Actor Tsumabuki Satoshi (31) will be acting in Director Izutsu Kazuyuki’s ‘Hold Onto The Gold And Fly’ for the first time. It is adapted from the novel of the same title by Kaoru Takamura (58) who won Naoki Award for her novel Makusu no Yama.

Based in Osaka, it relates Koda (Tsumabuki Satoshi) as the core character, about 6 men’s plan on robbing the gold and ran about in the cold winter of Osaka streets.

The original novel won the Japan suspense and adventure award in 1990 and distributed about 790 thousands of her debut novel. The author Takamura introduced this novel with her experience while working in Osaka’s foreign trading company, “Overlooking the scenic view in Osaka from dawn to dusk, smelling Osaka and wrote this novel just like how perspiration was forced out under the sun.” This is the 15th year since Tsumabuki Satoshi debuted as an actor and it is his first time collaborating with Director Izutsu Kazuyuki. He acted as Koda who executes for others and provides sources of extremists and criminals.

The members of the robbery gang ranges from a wide variety of age and jobs. Tadanobu Asano acts as Koda’s university friend and leader Kitagawa Koji. Kiritani Kenta (31) acted as the engineer of the bank’s programming. Mizobata Junpei (22) acted as Haruki, Kitagawa’s brother who provided the equipments. Nishida Toshiyuki will be Jin, the technician who operates the lift. A very grand showcase of actors.

As for Momo who is responsible for bomb-making and self-claimed to be a foreign student in engineering, the actor would be (Tohoshinki’s) Changmin (23), debuting his acting in a movie.

The filming starts on the 7th January with the main stage as Osaka and Hyogo. Everyday was a lengthy filming from wee morning till the late night and thus was very hard. Director Izutsu said, “I am very thankful to these trustful actors who together filmed this handsome and ruthless original work into a movie.”

“With love-worthy Osaka laying as the scene, it deeply depicts the passionate men’s looks for living a life,” the director strongly said. “To men who lived with a rebellious theme, what is the number 1 motivation in the world, what is the real reason? Through this movie, I would wish to portray if the current sense of occlusion and grievance can be relieved in front of the gold,” the director said.

The movie is set to wrap up filming by early this March.

[News] Kim Joon Soo: ‘The Role That Has No Correct Answer Attracts me’

[News] Kim Joon Soo: ‘The Role That Has No Correct Answer Attracts Me’

Kim Joon Soo will play the role of Tod in the Musical “Elizabeth.”

The musical “Elizabeth” is based on a true life story of Austria’s Empress Elizabeth, and the other protagonist besides Elizabeth is Tod, which is the personified character of death. “Tod,” who met Elizabeth when she was young, fell in love with her and came to stay right beside her during her lifetime while tempting her. Elizabeth, who came to be destined to live in the cage of the palace even though she had been pursuing her free life and love, became weakened by Tod’s temptations.

Rookie musical actor and star idol group member Kim Joon Soo of JYJ will challenge himself by playing the difficult role of Tod. Kim Joon Soo reportedly worried very much when was first asked to play the role, regarding whether he could play the role very well or not. Kim said, “Doing something that I want to do and something that I can do is another story. I thought that ‘Death’ has to be grave and dignified, and the actor who plays this role has to have enough acting experience. I agonized greatly whether I could successfully play the role. But I realized that ‘death’ does not exist and there will be no correct answer.” He explained that he decided to play the character because he would present something that does not exist. Kim continued, “The head of our agency asked me, ‘Why do you think that the character should be dignified even though it does not exist?’ After I listened to his question, I realized that it could be young or innocent, and I decided to present ‘Death’ my own way, according to how I think.”

His own thoughts on death have also changed from vague ideas of “What is after death?” and “Do I really die someday?” to a more concrete definition, in which is, “Death is something that makes people feel that they are only human who inevitably die, which makes people feel miserable.” Before he creates the image of “death,” he thought about how Elizabeth thinks and feels before “death.” Five actors who will play death and Elizabeth and the director discussed together. Kim Joon Soo said, “Death asked Elizabeth what ‘death’ meant to her, and she answered that she, who had been dreaming of free life, felt pessimistic when she became the empress. I thought that ‘death’ might have brought her a kind of freedom, comfort, and peace.”

The character of “Death” will be played by Kim Joon Soo in his twenties, Song Chang Ui in his thirties, and Ryu Jeong Han in his forties. The three actors have different charms and different experiences, and their ways of presenting the same character might be different. Kim Joon Soo hinted that the character death that will be played by three different actors will be varied in their costumes and hairstyles, and he will present dancing more than the other two actors. He did not lose his courage in a situation where he had to appear with other veteran actors, but he said confidently, “Watching different acting by different actors who play the same character is a very exciting element and the power of the musical.” He also said confidently that he could use the best of his weak and husky voice to play his character. He seemed to be free from the restraint of an actor who came from an idol group. Kim said, “I knew that some people criticized me that I had been cast as the protagonist only because I came from a star idol group, and I had been very cautious. I did not know about musicals at all when I appeared in the musical ‘Mozart’ as the protagonist, but musicals gave me strength and hope when I had gone through a very difficult situation, so I do not want to give up appearing in musicals. Now I only think that I have to repay the audience and the producer who have shown trust to me. It is true that I come from a idol group, and I am trying my best to change people’s prejudice about me. I want to be regarded as a musical actor who really loves musicals.”

[Trans] 120128 JYJ’s Kim Junsu Says, “What Scares Me Most About Our First South American Concert Is…”

[Trans] 120128 JYJ’s Kim Junsu Says, “What Scares Me Most About Our First South American Concert Is…”

JYJ’s Kim Junsu recently expressed his anticipation for the group’s upcoming concerts in Peru and Chile in March.

Kim Junsu met with reporters and stated, “This is the first time in five years that I’m going to South America since visiting Rio de Janeiro in 2007 for a commercial. At that time, I only stayed for four or five days so I wasn’t able to see much while I was there,” and “My anticipation for our upcoming concerts there is as high as it could possibly be as we’ll work with passionate people in a new environment.“

His increased anticipation is partially due to the fact that he recently experienced the passion of fans from a similar culture through JYJ’s concert in Spain. He was deeply moved by the fact that fans were not merely spectators, but participants who were enjoying themselves.

Kim Junsu let out a long sigh as he said, “If there’s one thing that scares me, it’s the duration of the flight,” and “Last time, I think it took me more than 15 hours to get to Brazil with a stopover in Paris. I was told that it would take even longer this time around.”

The singer ended the interview with the statement, “As these South American concerts are the last leg of JYJ’s world tour, I think we’ll be able to provide the most complete performance we’ve ever given of everything we’ve done till now. We promise to visit our fans in other countries of the Central and South American region, such as Brazil and Mexico, someday.“

Meanwhile, JYJ will be holding solo concerts in Chile and Peru on the 9th and 11th of March respectively and Kim Junsu will begin performing in the musical ‘Elisabeth’ on the 9th of February.

Heavy Snow Leaves 53 Dead, Hundreds Injured In North, West Japan

Heavy Snow Leaves 53 Dead, Hundreds Injured In North, West Japan

Heavy snow has left 53 dead and hundreds injured in several prefectures in western and northern Japan, it has been learned.

The loss of life came primarily in five prefectures along the Sea of Japan in the Tohoku region and Hokkaido, with 12 dead in Niigata, 11 in Hokkaido, nine in Aomori, eight in Nagano and six in Akita. Reported injuries have already surpassed 574, with over 100 in four of the five prefectures affected most by the strong cold air mass sweeping through the region.

Meanwhile, a number of municipalities blanketed by the heavy snow say they have run out of funds for snow removal, and have begun urgent calls on the central government for financial assistance.

According to Niigata Prefecture, the prefecture’s 30 municipalities had budgeted a total of some 13 billion yen for snow removal, but that as of Jan. 23 at least 12 could no longer afford to keep clearing snow, forcing the prefectural government to step in with supplementary funds. Furthermore, six cities in the prefecture have tapped central governmental emergency aid under the Disaster Relief Act.

In the prefectural city of Myoko, where more than three meters of snow has accumulated, authorities had to close all 14 elementary and middle schools as well as special education schools in the area as the snowfall outstripped the municipality’s capacity to clear it.

With the Japan Meteorological Agency warning of continued snowfall mainly along the Sea of Japan, snow removal expenses in the region are expected to increase further.

In Tokamachi, Niigata Prefecture, after snow is removed, it is stored in rice paddies until the beginning of the rice planting season. The entire process, including the use of heavy machinery and dump trucks, cost the municipality approximately 200 million yen in fiscal 2010, officials said.

“In places where it snows heavily, a lot of money is used even after the beginning of the spring,” said an official from the city’s construction office.

The Aomori Prefectural Government, which had initially allocated approximately 1.9 billion yen for snow removal operations, has already used about 1.8 billion. To cover additional snow removal expenses, prefectural officials have applied for about 2.94 billion yen in additional central government subsidies.

Meanwhile, the heavy snow has left major scars on infrastructure as well.

An approximately 95-meter-long steel bridge in the Nagano Prefecture village of Sakae collapsed on Jan. 30. Municipal authorities believe the cause may have been heavy snow, which was more than three meters deep at the time of the collapse.

The accident fortunately caused no injuries, as the bridge had been closed following the major earthquake that struck the prefecture in March last year.

A 41-year-old man in the same village, who lived in a temporary housing unit following last year’s earthquake, was reported dead on Jan. 6 after he fell from his unit’s roof while trying to clear it of snow.

This year’s heavy snowfall seems to be approaching the magnitude of that in 2006, which left major damage predominantly in Niigata and Nagano prefectures.

According to the Fire and Disaster Management Agency, a total of 152 people died during that year as a result of heavy snowfall. Approximately three-fourths of those deaths occurred during snow removal, sources say.

Translation 120130 Kim Junsu’s Exclusive Interview: It’s Really Crazy Too Be Compared With Cho Seung Woo Hyung

[Trans] 120130 Kim Junsu’s Exclusive Interview: It’s Really Crazy To Be Compared With Cho Seung Woo Hyung‏

[Musical Elisabeth’s Lead Kim Junsu]

To compare me, who has only participated in three works, with the best senior…

Due to the pressure received for being an idol and overcame it in debut work, ‘Mozart’.

If were to reborn, I would not be an artiste.

During the later half of 2009, musical ‘Mozart’ production team’s EMK musical company had the last contractual discussion with TVXQ member Xiah Junsu. Xiah Junsu was the best as an idol singer but the experience for musical was naught. The performance fee that the company proposed was different from the request by Xiah Junsu’s representative. The 3000 seatings in Sejong Cultural Centre for the performance was considered to be a large hall. “The 3rd floor won’t be filled up anyway,” this was what the production company thought. The situation ended with Xiah Junsu’s representative’s , “Our Junsu can do it.”

“Our Junsu” made it. At the opening of ‘Mozart’ on January 2010, the crowd filled up the three floors of Sejong Cultural Centre. There were hundreds of Japanese middle-aged ladies who held the air ticket in one hand and the other hand holding onto to a binoculars, flying across the sea to see him. Xiah Junsu gained the title of ‘Running Guarantee’ (Performance fee received based on the tickets’s sales) with 30 million won fee. Last year, the online ticketing system crashed for his second work, ‘Tears of Heaven’ and the tickets were sold out within 5 minutes.

“Our Junsu” Xiah Junsu (Kim Junsu) will be the male lead Tod for ‘Elisabeth’ that is opening next February 9th. When we met on the 27th in a cafe at Seoul’s Jeong-dong, Jong-gu, his seemingly thin frame made others curious about the charm that made his noona fans lost their mind over this 25 year-old young adult. He reached 8 minutes later of scheduled time and lowered his head, saying ‘sorry’. His sincerity about punctuality during the practice sessions was complimented by many.

– Your ticket selling power was compared with ‘Musical Sage’ Cho Seung Woo. How do you feel about it?

“It’s really crazy. Please don’t do this. Isn’t Seung Woo hyung the best in musical industry? Although I am thankful, it’s best not to compare with me who is only just about to start my 3rd musical work. If the comparison was made after I acted in more than ten musicals, probably I wouldn’t be wanting to hide away (like now).”

– When you debuted in musical, nobody expected Xiah Junsu to be such successful. Personally, what is the reason behind your success?

“When I received the musical proposal, I did not sleep well for a week. Because this is my first step after independency (from the previous company SM Entertainment), thus I was very troubled. I did heard of discrimination against idols in musical industry too. However, other than me myself, nobody can protect me. Moreover there’s no existence of protective barrier at all. I am very clear about it.”

– The part where you worked hard due to your status as an idol?

“Being an idol is a double-sided blade. Although you are able to easily attained the lead and received the limelight but there’s the enormous hinder. Due to the performance in musical and overcame the obstacle and learnt about life. ‘In this world, having a dream will need to accept the woes as well’, whenever I am listening to the songs in Mozart, I would cry a lot inside me. As an artiste and to face the public judgement, the pressure is huge, and he (musical/Mozart) speak it out for me.”

– Other than the songs in musical, there were a lot of elements added in, which is your favourite?

“When I first stood on the musical stage, I crazily felt that it’s embarrassing. After I have done it, the joy that it brought me was totally different from a concert. In the two hours on stage, I am not idol Xiah Junsu but as someone else. I like this point a lot.”

In July 2009, after the successful injunction filed by him and two other TVXQ members towards SM Entertainment due to unfair contract length and income etc, they emerged as JYJ. However after that, as singers, JYJ are unable to appear on national broadcasting companies. In the one hour, he has been friendly answering everything, however he paused for a while towards such an inquiry.

“One can’t live (in the past). Have to keep holding on and rough it out. I had the thinking that I have to work even harder. To be able to do what we want, I think this is the happiest to us (JYJ).”

– Many teens dreamt to be the next Xiah Junsu?

“I would not be an artiste in my next life. (He repeated this thrice) Of course as of now, I have no regrets in my life. It is very happy to receive love and concern. But after I passed the audition when I was 15, I have never been in my relaxed mode the minute I went out the door. I have never been to Lotte World either. Sometimes I do felt that I’ve wasted it. It is very tough to be receiving provoking comments from others too. However I have to admit that it’s normal to have losses in life and to understand the surroundings and into thankfulness.”

With regards to new work ‘Elisabeth’, “Working with (Ryu) Jung Han hyung who also acted as Tod, (Song) Chang ui and Kim Sun Young noona and Ock Joo Hyun noona who acted as Elisabeth, is the biggest subject (to learn).” “Recently I am only listening to music from musicals. I would like to try choosing works for small-scaled musicals.”

[INTERVIEW] 120129 Kim Junsu – Attracted To The Role of The Transcendental “Death”

[INTERVIEW] 120129 Kim Junsu – Attracted To The Role Of The Transcendental “Death”

Musical “Elisabeth” Kim Junsu
Open from Feb. 9 at Blue Square Samsung Electronics Hall

In 2010, Kim Junsu has already experienced the musical “Elisabeth”. In the musical proposed by composer Sylvester Levay “Kim Junsu Musical Concert – Levay With Friends”, he has already performed most of the songs in the musical “Mozart”. However, it is revealed that “Elisabeth” will have six major songs.

Junsu personally performed ‘Death (Tod)’’s two songs, which were ‘When I Feel Like Dancing” and “Last Dance”. His greed rose as he sang the songs. During that time, it was not confirmed that the musical would premiere in South Korea but he had already set his eyes on the role of “Death”.

“Elisabeth” is the most successful German-language musical ever since it started in Vienna 20 years ago in 1992. It will finally premiere in South Korea this coming Feb. 9 at Hannam-dong’s Blue Square Samung Electronics Hall. Of course, Kim Junsu will play the role of the alluring fantasy being “Death” who stays besides the ill-fated Habsburg Empress “Elisabeth” constantly.

“Although they are all actors, I am a singer so I think that it is more important to select songs than choosing play. Even though I already know that it is a good musical, it will be more touching if I get to sing it personally. Also, the role of “Death” itself is not a person, but an imaginery transcendental existence. The role itself is charming. Adding a twist in Elisabeth’s life using the fantasy character “Death” in the musical, I think that Michael Kunze is really an outstanding person.”

Even so, Junsu did not accept the role without hesitation. He thinks that the role of “Death” should have substance. As there will be a triple cast of Ryu Jung-han and Song Chang-Ee, he is worried that he will be lacking in substance due to his age and experience in musicals.

“I hesitated and questioned myself, ‘Who will give substance to this role?’ When I heard that, I think I should take the role. My self-confidence increased when I think that I can express the role well.”

Interpreting the sweet temptation of Elisabeth’s longing for freedom

Mobilising the country’s best musical actors for the premiere

Junsu thinks that the role of “Death” in the musical is sweet. To Elisabeth who longs for freedom, her life in the imperial family is a tragic one and death gives her the sweet temptation of rest and peacefulness.

“There is no answer to death. Nobody has feel and experience it before. I think that to Elisabeth, experiencing the existence of death is sweet. The voice and music will be dark, but I have to express a slight sweetness in my role.”

From his debut musical “Mozart”, “Tears of Heaven” to “Elisabeth”, Junsu always takes the lead role in South Korea’s musical premieres. Although it is a great risk for the producer, he believes in the growth potential of Junsu who only has a year of experience in musicals.

“Even though I have no plans, I think that I was given a good opportunity. To me, the image of the actor in the premiere becomes the image of the Korean actor. Although there is a burden, I think that I have to do well since I have accepted the role. It will be good if I can show the other sides of myself, which I did not show in the previous two musicals. To a musical actor, this musical gives me a chance to develop my skills.”

JYJ’s schedule is tight, but Junsu always thinks that he is lacking as a musical actor, hence he constantly listens to musical music and watches musicals in his spare time.

“This play mobilises the best musical actors in the country. It is Elisabeth’s strength. It will be fine if I do well. I was worried about my voice when portraying the transcendental existence in this play. I have paid a lot of attention to details like expression and hand and body movements.

Besides Kim Junsu, the cast of the musical “Elisabeth” includes Ok Ju-hyun, Kim Sun-young and Park Eun Tae.

[NEWS] K-pop Idols Drive Fast Cars! -JYJ Possess The Fastest Cars Out Of All The Idols In The Industry

More and more k-pop idols are purchasing limited edition race cars these days. So if they’re going to put it out there, then let’s take a look.

It has been reported that members of JYJ possess the fastest cars out of all the idols in the industry, but what about the other qualifications?

JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong drives a Italian Lamborghini Murciélago LP-640, which is a 12-cylinder, 6.5 liter engine that produces 640 horsepower. This race car goes from 0 to 60 in an impressive 3.4 seconds and rides as fast as 205 mph. Estimated price in Korea for this vehicle is around $445,000 USD. Production of the Murciélago began in 2001 and ended on November 5, 2010, with a total run of 4,099 cars.

Kim Junsu‘s ride is the precious Ferrari ‘458 Italia‘, whose 8-cylinder, 4.5 liter engine produces 570 horsepower, but gets the same acceleration time at the lambergini 0 to 60 mph in 3.4. It drives as fast as 200 mph, and the starting price is $337,000 USD. Yesterday, The 458 Italia added two further plaudits to that collection at the International Engine of the Year Awards when its V8 was voted “Best Performance Engine” and “Best Engine Above 4 Litres”.

Fellow member Park Yoochun also drives a Ferrari. His ‘California‘ is a 4-seater convertible which boasts a 8-cylinder, 4.3 liter engine that produces 460 horsepower. It accelerates from 0 to 60 in 4 seconds, and drives as fast as 192 mph. Starting price is $311,000 USD. This is the around town version of the Ferrari.

Big Bang‘s G-Dragon drives a luxury car, a Bentley Continental GT. This model in particular boasts a 6.0 liter engine and the starting price is $254,000. The car can produce 575 horsepower off of a vehicle that weighs more than 2 tons. The Continental GT can accelerate from 0 to 60 in a mere 4.6 seconds, and gets up to 197 mph.

So, basically, these guys have some of the coolest cars from across the board, hands down.

120126 A Birthday Surprise Fanfic For Kim Jaejoong by Momma Cha

Birthday Graphic #398

All situations in this story are fictional. The only thing real is the main characters.  🙂

Birthdays are meant to be special and fun. After all, how many times do you get to celebrate the only day out of the whole year that you can pretend is exclusively yours? Yes, pretend. There are hundeds of thousands of people who share your birthday with you. You are unique but there are only 365 & 1/4 days in a year. Except leap year of course.

As our tale unfolds try to imagine that this day is exclusively Kim Jaejoong’s in which to celebrate his birthday–to laugh, to have fun, and to share it with others……Sigh….. (sudden grinding halt….)

Enter Scene One

La-ti-da-ti-da…Jaejoong awakes to the smell of freshly brewed expresso and JiJi lounging luxuriously on his new bedspread. “JiJi!! Get off the bed!!!  Huh? Is someone here? I smell expresso”. Then he remembers, “OH Yeah!! Today is my Birthday!!”
He has put the timer on the Expresso Machine just to awaken him on this special morning, and to begin his birthday with zest!! Sadly, Junsu has flown to Japan the night before, calling late to express his regrets for not being in Seoul on Jaejoong’s birthday, and… to tell Jaejoong of the wonderful present he will give him upon his return. “Regrettably’, said Junsu, “That will be next week”.

Jaejoong is not dsturbed. Yoochun is in town, not to mention family and friends, so today is looking up.and his anticipation grows of an exciting birthday among loved ones.  Jaejoong has received several calls from family members wanting him to drop by to pick up his presents.

Suddenly, his cellphone rings. “Jae hyeong, this is Micky. I’ve just been called out of town by the new casting director for “January Blessing”, you know–that new drama I was telling you about?  I’m so excited. I’ll be away for your birthday. but don’t worry, Ricky said that he would come over and spend some time with you”. “I gotta run, See ya”.  Oh, BTW, I have a cool gift for you. I’ll give it to you soon’.

Jaejoong puts down his cellphone with a puzzled look. “Why didn’t they tell me that they were leaving earlier than this? That’s odd. Oh, well, I’m going to get my day started with a fresh cup of expresso and a decent breakfast.”

Jaejoong follows his nose to the kitchen where the expresso awaits, hot and hearty. He cooks some ramen, pores a huge cup, and sits down to read the morning paper, but it isn’t distracting enough to keep him from thinking about Junsu and Micky leaving town so abruptly on his birthday. If he allowed himself to dwell on it much longer it was going to ruin his mood.  Draining his cup, Jaejoong cleans up, then picks up his cell phone to call his family. “I’m supposed to be there at 11:00. I wonder what I should bring”?  The telephone rings and rings. No answer. Then a message kicks in. “Due to an important family event the Kim’s will not be in town from today until February 3rd’. If you have something important to tell us, please leave a message after the beep. We will get back to you as soon as possible.”

Jaejoong stares at his cell phone. This is unbelievable. Most of the people he has depended upon to help him celebrate his birthday have gone out of town. ‘If I didn’t think it was crazy, he thought–I would assume that they are running away from me. Oh Well, Yunho and Changmin promised to stop by on their way to that red carpet gala event.

What is the name of it? ‘Promises for The Future Road Show’?  “I can’t remember–I’m starting to get a headache”… I think that I’ll just grab a pillow, lie on the couch and take a nap until someone calls. JiJi, keep a look-out, will ya?– And take that Santa suit off!!!

(Scene Fades)

(Enter Scene Two)

Jaejoong has fallen sound asleep.

“I’ll protect You” starts to play. it is Jaejoong’s cellphone. “Snort”. Jaejoong startles awake and flips the phone.  ‘Hello, this is Jaejoong”. “Hi Jae Hyeong, this is Ricky”. “Oh yeah, great–you’re coming over right?” ‘You’re spending time with me on my birthday, right”?  Complete silence. “Aw. it’s your birthday?  Sorry, hyeong, I was calling to tell you that I’ll be going out of town and I heard that they needed you to call the office. You didn’t answer your phone earlier. Bye”.

Jaejoong’s jaw drops three inches. “What is going on?  What event is  more important than my birthday? So Ricky has decided to go out of town too”?

” I’m not calling. I’ll just get dressed and go on down. Naw, that won’t work. They’ve probably gone out of town. If I wasn’t a grown man I would cry”.

Just then the phone rings. “Jaejoong, did Ricky tell you we had an assignment for you? You need to hurry”. There’s a photoshoot today at Seoul Forestry. Did you forget?  Your manager set it up. You need to meet the crew at the reserve”.

Jaejoong is so stunned he can’t answer for a moment. “A-a- photoshoot? At The Forestry Reserve? O.K. I’ll be there soon”.  After closing the phone. ” I am so mad. I ate that great big breakfast and now they want me to do a photoshoot on my birthday? They told me I had the day off!

(Scene Fades)

(Enter Scene Three)

‘Where is this Forestry Reserve? I’ve been driving around for two hours!! Oh, wait a minute–that looks like an entrance. Yes!

Jaejoong drives up into a clearing. There is no one in sight. It is winter. The birds aren’t singing, there is snow on the trees… ‘What kind of photoshoot is this going to be? There’s so much snow I can hardly drive. I wonder if the crew is held up? I’ll call the office”.

Two calls later and there is no answer. Jaejoong is starting to panic. It is also starting to snow. Suddenly–“I’ll Protect You”. Jaejoong answers the phone with “Why am I here? Where is the crew?

‘What crew, Jaejoong? This is your manager. I stopped by for your birthday but you aren’t home. Where are you?

Where am I?  Don’t you know? The office said that I had a photoshoot at the Forestry Reserve and that you had set it up. I’m sitting here with the car running and no crew in sight”.

‘I know nothing about this. There must be some mistake”.  Come on home and I’ll be waiting for you”. The manager rings off.

Unbelievable. Jaejoong turns the car around–grateful to be heading back home. “The office never makes mistakes like this. I wonder what really happened. Following a back road to avoid detection, Jaejoong pulls into his Private garage 90 minutes later. “Br-r-r-rrrrrrrr, it is cold. I may as well be in Alaska”.

The journey to the Penthouse seems endless, especially since Jaejoong has made it a habit of climbing the stairs for exercise. When he arrives at the entrance winded and tired, he stops for a moment and leans against the wall. “What a birthday”, he says to himself. “I could have stayed in bed’

Turning the key he enters the luxurious apartment expecting to see the manager. JiJi meets him in the foyer with a bag of kitty treats in his jaws. “Thank, You, JiJi, but I can’t eat those. Oh! You want me to open them for you? O.K.  Someone should get a present”!!

A crashing noise from the master bedroom sends Jaejoong sprinting down the hall. As he skids around the corner he sees the manager calmly picking up pieces of his prize Taiwanese urn from the floor.  Jaejoong is too tired to care. All he wants to do is to go back to sleep.

“Hey, I’m sorry man. I accidentally hit it with your suitcase”.  As Jaejoong stares at him he points toward two large suitcases filled with Jaejoong’s clothes and toiletries.

“I took the liberty of packing for you. We don’t want to be late”.

Jaejoong just stares at him blankly. What more surprises could the day bring? “Late for what ? Where are we going”?, he asks.

“On a little trip; just you and me going to a friend’s lodge. The staff decided to pull together and give you a week away for your birthday. You’ve been pushing it rather hard these last few weeks. You deserve a rest”.

‘You’re right”, Jaejoong stifles a big yawn. “I deserve a week’s rest right here in my own home away from forests and trees.  I’m going to bed”.

“No, No, you can’t do that”.!  The manager is frantic. “We really need to go right now. Look, I have a picture of the lodge right here. Remember the fun you had there with Yoochun”?

The manager grabs the suitcases and starts heading for the door. “We have to catch the plane in a hour. I promise there will be plenty to do, even in winter. I already called your housekeeper. She’ll take care of JiJi and the house.

Jaejoong sways on his feet. “O.K. O.K. I’ll go, but only if I’m allowed to sleep for two days”.

“Fine with me.. You can sleep in the car”…………………………..ZZZZZZZZZZZ.

(Scene Fades)

(Enter Scene Four)

Jaejoong is so exhausted that he can’t remember the trip to the airport or the flight. When he awakens they are traveling down a snow-covered road that looks slightly familiar. He has  been here before.  Stretching and yawning he watches the scenery go past and reflects on the fact that his birthday will soon be gone with no celebration; no presents; no family; and–well, he does have the manager. That knowledge does nothing to lighten his mood. At least he will have a whole week in which to choose his own pursuits.

As they round a corner the lodge appears ahead. It is dark and looks cold and totally uninviting. “I’ll sleep well, though, he thinks. Yeah!

Suddenly, as the van comes to a stop, there comes a loud shriek followed by a sudden blazing of lights at the windows. Jaejoong sits stunned as the door flings open and Micky and Junsu, grinning from ear to ear, drag him from the car and half-carry him to the door, legs flailing. Yunho and Changmin rush out to form a chair with their hands to carry the birthday boy inside. All of a sudden people are popping out from every corner of the lodge. There is his umma and appa; and his sisters and their families. Friends, relatives, and staff all grin from ear to ear as they clamor for his attention. Story after story of keeping this a secret for weeks rolls off of their lips while Jaejoong slowly comes alive with the excitement of it all. Just think–a whole week with all of these people…. (sudden grinding halt)   🙂

I am so glad that this has been subbed. As usual, Junsu becomes the fall guy, Jaejoong is the charming spokesman, and Yoochun manages to keep most of the attention off of himself. Noone believes that Yoochun is that retiring, especially after the Hollywood Party. If I can remember correctly, if the beer didn’t appeal to him, the liquor in the hotel did.
Lots of love my rascals.   Momma Cha

In the days of the New Year, Avex, which has been shaken by Hamasaki Ayumi’s announcement of her divorce, is said to have finally begun talks of the Tohoshinki Reunification project.

“Avex released a DVD-BOX on New Year’s day which records all of Hamasaki Ayumi’s PVs and special videos since her debut. Even with the outstanding topic of ‘divorce’ being released at this stage, the success of Avex and Hamasaki Ayumi still looks hopeful“ (Music Industry Personnel)

Furthermore, another of Avex’s aces alongside Hamasaki Ayumi, EXILE, released a PV collection set at the same time as their album, but it seems that they can no longer allow sales to remain in its current state.

“On top of the long-running poor situation of the music industry, this is a time where selling just songs is not enough anymore. To this, Avex has been releasing first press editions and giving away premiums, and selling PVs on a large scale, as a change in strategy. However, despite it being good that Hamasaki Ayumi is from their company’s management, other “cash cows” artists such as Amuro Namie and Exile are under other management agencies, so they do not bring in that much money.” (as above)

Speaking of other management agencies, Avex and Korea’s SM Entertainment-managed artist has been holding large scale promotions in Japan, and are developed as artists under Avex’s own management. However, 3 of the members have broken away from the original 5 due to issues surrounding their contract with SM Entertainment, and are holding activities as JYJ, and it is said that there are talks of a project to re-unify the 5 members.

“Although currently Tohoshinki is made out of the 2 members Yunho and Changmin, the most popular member in Japan is JYJ’s Jaejoong. Initially, Avex had a contract with JYJ’s management, but due to suspicions of a person with a “dark past” in the company, the contract was disrupted. Because of this, not only has JYJ not been able to hold activities in Japan, last year there was a court dispute surrounding the charity event that they held for the Tohoku Earthquake disaster recovery. Furthermore, more trouble followed with the occurrence of the fake disaster relief charity party at the end of last year. Despite their limitations in being unable to appear in programs within Korea due to the pressures from SM Entertainment, their draw is massive. Therefore, before the troubles surrounding JYJ have been resolved, a project to get the 5 members reunited in a live performance at Tokyo Dome has emerged. If this is true, this will be the “saviour” for Avex, which has nothing left to “sell.” However, with rumours of JYJ’s “dark ties” still left unresolved, it seems that it will be hard for this project to move forward.” (Weekly Magazine Reporter)

Also, it is said that Hamasaki Ayumi is part of the team helping in this project.

“Hamasaki has close ties with JYJ from before, and has even recorded a collaborative track with (JYJ) member Junsu’s twin brother, Junho. In last year’s a-nation, Avex’s live event, due to the powerful influence of Tohoshinki’s two members “not wanting to stand on the same stage as Junho,” (Junho and Hamasaki Ayumi) were not able to sing their collaboration song and to oppose this, Hamasaki rejected the role of closing the show. She also spoke of her dissatisfaction with Avex in this matter, on twitter. Even with all the disorder, Hamasaki stands between the two sides, and is apparently negotiating for a compromise between the two sides for a reunification.” (as above)

There are many fans that hope for a reunion of TVXQ, but even with this project which is extremely difficult to realize emerging, it seems that the current situation of Avex is tough.
