K-pop boy band JYJ will visit the Philippines in November as honorary ambassador to promote the 17th Asian Games that will be held in Incheon, South Korea, next year.
The popular group is scheduled to do a roadshow to promote the Games in four countries starting this month.
According to C-JeS Entertainment, the band’s agency, JYJ will attend a video conference interview for Singapore on Sept. 26followed by media and cultural events in Vietnam and Guangzhou, China, on Oct. 24 and Nov. 21, respectively.
JYJ is scheduled to go to an Asian Games media event in Boracay in Aklan in southern Philippines at the end of November.
The band was appointed as honorary ambassador of the Incheon Asian Games in February.
However, certain parties are preventing JYJ from promoting Asian Games in their own country.
Despite that the band is the honorary ambassador of the Games, JYJ was excluded from attending the Incheon Korean Music Wave 2013 concert held last Sept. 1 at the Incheon Munhak World Cup Stadium.
About 40,000 fans went to the concert which was participated in by 20 K-pop groups including Girls’ Generation, Super Junior, KARA, FT Island, EXO, miss A, BEAST and 2AM.
According to the 2014 Incheon Asian Games website, the concert “was part of a series of events to mark the one year remaining until the opening of the Games on September 19, 2014.”
C-JeS said JYJ was not included in the concert despite that it raised a formal objection to the organizing committee.
“Of course, we have raised a formal objection to the organizing committee because, from a common sense point of view, it is unacceptable for JYJ, honorary ambassadors of the IAG, not to attend the event which has to do with promoting the IAG,” C-JeS said, according to a translation by fansite Jaetaku on WordPress.com.
The agency said the Games organizing committee sided with it and requested people in charge of the concert including TV station MBC, the host TV station of the event, to include JYJ.
The organizing committee was informed by the Incheon Development and Tourism Corporation (IDTC) that it was impossible to have JYJ at the event.
According to C-JeS, the committee’s request was not for JYJ to perform at the concert but only to introduce the Incheon Asian Games and announce their upcoming overseas promotional activities.
MBC and IDTC turned down the committee’s request, C-JeS said.
JYJ has been unable to perform on TV music and entertainment programs in South Korea since 2010 stemming from a legal dispute between the boy band and SM Entertainment.
Last November, JYJ and SM Entertainment settled their legal problem.
Last July, Korea’s Fair Trade Commission issued an order against entertainment and media organizations in Korea that have obstructed JYJ’s TV appearances.
Despite the order and the lawsuit settlement, JYJ is still being prevented from appearing on TV.
C-JeS said despite the roadblocks, JYJ is committed to spreading Korean culture and raising awareness about the Asian Incheon Games, which will be held from September to October 2014 in South Korea.
C-JeS thanked the Games organizing committee and the Mayor of Incheon for acknowledging the importance of JYJ as honorary ambassadors of the Asian Games.
“JYJ are going to do their best to spread the excellence of the Korean culture and to raise the awareness of the IAG 2014 as its honorary ambassadors by making a tour of several Asian countries,” the agency said.

I have been waiting to hear news about the outcome of the decisions surrounding JYJ’s participation in the 2013 Incheon Hallyu Tourism Concert : Incheon Korean Music Wave 2013. The possibility that Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu would once again fall victim to a system that sees no moral dilemma in using their popularity as a means of promoting the 2014 Incheon Asian Games, yet continues to deny them the respect and courtesy deserving of their popular status, has come once more into public view. It is not a pretty picture. This is just another example of the pettiness of the entertainment industry in their bold disregard for the established institutions of their society which have been set in place to ensure fair treatment of all citizens. This basically boils down to violation of JYJ’s constitutional rights as citizens of South Korea.
How did I get here? It is obvious that the court system has ruled in favor of Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu through the countless lawsuits and injunctions resulting in decisions supporting JYJ handed down by the judiciary. The FTC and public officials of powerful rank and personal integrity have given their support, yet all are being ignored. This has dire implications. By ignoring the judiciary, the FTC, and public figures, a message is being put out there that states the belief that they are untouchable and hold all the power. Time will tell.
The industry has been told hands off of JYJ’s activities, thus implied, Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu’s individual activities as well. In essence, they are being told to take their hands off of JYJ’s potentialities in the marketplace of entertainment. There is no way that anyone can truthfully deny JYJ’s abilities, earning potential, or promotional power. So, in an effort to exploit those assets; perhaps in hopes of receiving recompense, or in furthering their own cause, the bait and switch method has been employed. Engage these dynamic, charismatic, patriotic persons to attract the public’s attention; then withdraw any opportunities that will permanently place them in the historical equation or that will allow them access to former teammates..
Those who have been totally underestimated in this situation are the fans and supporters of Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu. After all, this has happened before in the form of the ‘Jeju Island’s 7 Natural Wonders of The World’ incident as referred to in the message C-Jes recently placed on their Official Homepage. The dedicated fans will always be committed to trying their best to help JYJ to weather this seemingly unending storm based on the fans knowledge of Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu’s integrity. The fans and supporters are individuals and groups who can see the injustices for what they are– attempts to belittle and rob JYJ of their opportunities and self-esteem. Viewed in an objective manner, it is a complete travesty of justice. In whatever form the fan support appears, it is a direct message to Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu, and others who may some day face similar circumstances. Justice can prevail. It is JYJ’s commitment to maintain their integrity that will win the day.
Through all of this Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu have proven themselves to be strong, moral individuals, who, even as this insult among many has targeted them, have made a determination to carry through with the activities they have been offered as Honorary Ambassadors of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games. They will do well. Diplomacy is their largest suit. After all, how do you think they have managed all these years? Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu are wonderful candidates for honorary ambassadorship.

Hello.
This is C-JeS Entertainment.
JYJ are currently active as the honorary ambassadors of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games. During the commencement ceremony in February, the committee of the Asian Games stated the reason behind choosing JYJ as their honorary ambassadors by stating, “In order to expand awareness of Incheon, the city where the tournament will be held, as well as kick off the tournament’s overseas promotional activities, we have chosen JYJ as our honorary ambassadors because of their immense popularity in Asia.”
Yesterday’s was held with the purpose of showing support for the success of the Asian Games. However, JYJ the honorary ambassadors of the Asian Games, were not in attendance. The fact that the honorary ambassadors of the Asian Games weren’t attending an event that was set to commemorate the tournament didn’t make any sense to us, so we submitted an official objection to the committee and the related organizations. We were met with an agreement from the committee, and we took action against the organizers, sponsors and broadcaster of the event and requested a change in the line-up.
The Asian Games committee received an opinion from the Incheon Development and Tourism Committee that JYJ would not be able to appear in the event, and expressed to the organizer that this was not a hope for ‘JYJ to appear in the concert’. A second request was made for JYJ to appear in the concert to appear on stage to introduce the sporting event and announce their overseas promotional activities for the second half of this year, as they are the honorary ambassadors and this was a concert to commemorate the Asian Games. However, MBC, the broadcaster of the event, and the Incheon Development and Tourism Committee notified the Asian Games committee that their second request would also be denied.
In July, the Fair Trade Commission laid down a prohibitive order against the organizations guilty of systematically interfering with JYJ’s activities. However, JYJ’s activities are still being interfered with by the broadcasting company in charge, despite the fact that JYJ have valid reasons for attending the event. Regardless of the Fair Trade Commission’s prohibitive order, it has been revealed that the celebrity industry is still engaging in unlawful activities as it is controlled by the influence of a large-scale entertainment agency.
Two years ago, a similar controversy took place while JYJ were active as the honorary ambassadors of Jeju Island’s 7 Natural Wonders of the World bid. Even then, JYJ continued to do their best to fulfill their roles as honorary ambassadors. This time will be no different. JYJ will tour Asia as the honorary ambassadors of the and do their best to increase the awareness of the event, as well as the cultural excellence of Korea. Also, they will do their best to fulfill their responsibility of getting Incheon known throughout Asia, through a true cultural mission rather than a musical stage that is a mere formality in name.
Last of all, we would like to thank the Asian Games committee and the Mayor of Incheon who recognized JYJ’s value as honorary ambassadors of the and did their best to rectify the situation till the very end, despite the absurd external pressure that faced them.
* We would like to notify you of JYJ’s overseas promotional schedule for the [2014 Incheon Asian Games]
– Singapore Road Show – Greeting interview through a conference call (9.26)
– Vietnam Road Show – Attendance at a media event and cultural event (10.24)
– Guangzhou Road Show – Attendance at a media event and cultural event (11.21)
– Attendance of the Incheon Asian Games’ 100th Anniversary media event in Boracay (end of November)

JYJ (Park Yoochun, Kim Jaejoong, Kim Junsu)’s Kim Junsu has broken through the prejudices surrounding idols in the musical industry with his explosive presence in ‘Elisabeth’.
JYJ’s agency C-JeS Entertainment stated, “Kim Junsu has returned to the role of ‘Tod’ (Death) in the musical Elisabeth, which opened its curtains for the second time in July. Having been praised for his rendition last year, Kim Junsu has been praised as the one and only ‘XiahTod’ of the world for this year’s rendition.”
They continued to add, “In all eight of his performances, since he began performing on the 14th of August, he has received a standing ovation. He has taken the musical by storm by evolving ‘Tod’ into a more beastly and dynamic character.”
If last year’s ‘XiahTod’ was like a beastly and instinctual panther, this year’s ‘XiahTod’ has returned as a cold but deadly ‘Vampire’ with black hair, red lips, and eye make-up that resembles the wings of death. As someone who was in the cast last year, Kim Junsu worked hard to analyze every scene and character as thoroughly as possible. His solo numbers such as ‘The Last Dance’ and ‘As the Shadows Grow Longer’ completely captivated his audience.
A representative of C-JeS Entertainment revealed, “Kim Junsu monitors all his performances after every show, and looks over every detailed movement and line, pouring all his passion into his work.”
Multiple sources stated, “Kim Junsu is the only musical actor who has sold out all of his performances in this Summer’s lineup of large-scale musicals. Because of his passion and the show’s top quality status, even overseas fans have chosen it as the must-see show of the season, and we hear that even scalper’s tickets are hard to find these days.”
Kim Junsu will step on stage again on the 28th of August at 8p.m. at the Seoul Arts Center’s Opera Hall.
