53 Korean idol groups, including TVXQ and Girls’ Generation, have been nominated for the Hallyu 10th Anniversary Japanese Music Awards, which will be held in Chiba, Japan in October.

According to Oricon, a ‘Hallyu 10th Anniversary Awards’ awards ceremony will take place at the International Convention Hall in Chiba, Japan on the 9th of October to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Hallyu Wave. The committee in charge of the awards ceremony will hold a poll from the 22nd till the 30th of September for boy bands, girl groups, and female and male solo artistes, to choose the top 5 groups in each category.

The nominees for the boy band category came to a total of 33 teams including INFINITE, AJAX, EXO, Epic High, FT Island, MBLAQ, CN BLUE, JYJ, SHINee, SHU-I, SHinhwa, Super Junior, ZE:A, Choshinsung, TEEN TOP, 2AM, 2PM, TVXQ, NU’EST, B.A.P, B2ST, B1A4, Big Bang, VIXX, Boyfriend and U-Kiss.

The girl group category had a total of 20 nominees including Jewelry, After school, A Pink, f(x), Girls Day, KARA, SECRET, SISTAR, Girls’ Generation, Davichi, Dalshabet, T-ara, 2NE1, 4Minute, Brown Eyed Girls, Miss A, Rainbow, and the Wondergirls.

The male solo category includes Psy, Se7en, Rain and Kim Bum Soo while the female solo category includes IU, Gummy, Ailee, BoA and Wax.

(Junsu, 3:08am KST) I had been doing all the breathing without realizing that my microphone wasn’t on.. haha I went straight to the director before my two Sunday performances yesterday when I reached the Seoul Arts Center and asked him to turn the microphone on as soon as I appear on the bridge with the sound of the bell chimes! ..My breathing could only be heard from yesterday’s Sunday performances lol

It wasn’t the fault of the sound team^^ It was just that it wasn’t discussed like it had been for last year’s performances, and I had been added to the process at a later time.. Posts of protest are flooding social networking systems regarding JYJ’s exclusion from the ’2014 Incheon Asian Games Commemoration Hallyu Concert’, despite the fact that they are the honorary ambassadors of the sporting event.

One Twitter user sent a tweet to Song Young Gil, the mayor of Incheon, (@Bulloger) and said, “Are you aware of the fact that JYJ, the honorary ambassadors of the Incheon Asian Games, weren’t even invited to the upcoming commemorative concert?” and “Even though they had never been invited to the concert, the committee submitted a false report that JYJ declined their invitation.”

According to the argument made by this Twitter user, JYJ’s names were excluded from the ’2014 Incheon Asian Games Commemoration Hallyu Concert’, that will be held on the 1st of September, despite being the honorary ambassadors of the sporting event, and the decision was made by the Incheon Development and Tourism Corporation, who are in charge of inviting celebrities to perform at the concert jyjincheonasianganes

The current guest list for the concert features 20 teams including 2AM, miss A, Girls Day, B2ST, Girls’ Generation, Super Junior, SISTAR, SECRET, KARA and T-ara.

JYJ’s agency C-JeS Entertainment stated that they have filed a formal objection regarding the controversy and stated, “A misunderstanding arose when the Incheon Development and Tourism Corporation, who are in charge of inviting singers to perform at the concert, notified the committee that JYJ declined their invitation. We set the record straight that we have never received an actual invitation to perform at the concert. We have been told that the committee will verify the truth of the situation by tomorrow (8th).”

Hearing about his controversy, Mayor Song stated, “I, too, hope for JYJ’s appearance at the concert but I was notified by the Incheon Development and Tourism Corporation that the line-up issue is being dealt with by MBC. I will make sure to check on the situation with the representatives of the Incheon Development and Tourism Corporation and the committee of the Asian Games.”
