Can the ‘Park Yoochun effect’ beat out ‘You, Who Came From The Stars?’
The value of SBS’ new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Three Days’, which features Park Yoochun as its leading role, is experiencing a sharp increase.
It is set to be exported to China at the highest price yet, even beating out SBS’ ‘You, Who Came From The Stars’, the drama that features a star-studded cast of Jeon Ji Hyun, Kim Soo Hyun and Park Hae Jin, and recently became a hot topic for becoming the Korea drama that was exported to China at the highest price.
A representative of SBS stated, “SBS’ Wednesday-Thursday dramas ‘Heirs’ and ‘You, Who Came From The Stars’ have both become a huge hit in China, shifting the focus to ‘Three Days’, which is set to air right after ‘You, Who Came From The Stars’ ends. The value of each episode has recently skyrocketed to 35,000 dollars (approximately 37 million Won).” Considering the fact that the average value per episode is 5 million Won for Korean dramas in China, ‘Three Days’ is set to earn 7 times the average amount.
China is considering to be one of the biggest markets for the Hallyu Wave, other than Japan. However, broadcasting rights are sold at much lower costs than in Japan, where dramas fetch up to 100 million Won per episode, and there is a quarterly restriction on foreign dramas broadcasted in China. But the power of Hallyu stars like Lee Minho, Park Yoochun, Jang Geun Seok and Park Haejin is helping to raise the value of dramas, reflecting a change in the market. The SBS representative stated, “Though the price of exports is still much lower than in Japan, China is a market with great potential. It will be extremely encouraging if ‘Three Days’ is able to break the record of ‘You, Who Came From The Stars’.”
‘Three Days’ is a story of the president mysteriously disappearing from his residence, and his secret service struggling to find him. The drama brings together screenwriter Kim Eun Hee and PD Shin Kyung Soo, and will feature a cast of Park Yoochun, Sohn Hyun Joo, Park Ha Sun, Yoon Jae Moon, Soh Yi Hyun and Jang Hyun Sung.

Kim Jaejoong has released his new song ‘Heaven’.
On the 20th, Kim Jaejoong released ‘WWW Removing One’s Makeup’, his first repackaged album, which features a new song called ‘Heaven’.
‘Heaven’ is the title track of the singer’s repackaged album, and is an emotional ballad that showcases Kim Jaejoong and Gummy’s melodious voices.
The album also features a remake of Nakajima Miyuki’s ‘Makeup’, which is a song about a woman putting on her makeup, filled with pain from the departure of her love. Kim Jaejoong’s simple but emotional reinterpretation perfectly portrays the longing and sorrow in the original song.
JYJ’s Kim Junsu showed his support for his fellow member on his personal Twitter account when he tweeted, “Makeup.. reminds me of the streets of Hong Kong on a rainy night.. My tears, please don’t fall.”
Meanwhile, Kim Jaejoong will be performing in Nagoya, Japan on the 22nd and 23rd of January, and in Seoul on the 25th and 26th to celebrate his birthday.

This post will be updated throughout the day with Twitter, Naver LINE and Instagram updates by JYJ. A time will be added with each tweet, LINE message and Instagram update as our translators will not always be able to provide instant translations This post includes updates from 6am KST, January 10th to 5:59am KST, January 11th.
(Junsu, 10:12am KST, Twitter) Let’s go on a trip~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~hehehehehe pic.twitter.com/ntARhyjxP4
(Junsu, 10:36am KST, Twitter) They keep adding syrup (even if I don’t want any) whenever I order an Americano..ㅜ pic.twitter.com/BMfGTUGB2Y
(Junsu, 10:58am KST, Twitter) The older I get.. the more I hate sweet things. I can enjoy one or two pieces of chocolate.. Cream puffs, sweet chips, sweet candy, sweet coffee etc.. If it’s sweet, it isn’t tasty.. I ordered something called a ‘Red Rise’ just now.. and it tastes like coconut and chocolate, the kind of thing you shouldn’t expect a meal to taste like.. I can’t take this
(Junsu, 11:09am KST, Twitter) At this moment, I’m already.. craving spicy sausage stew, kimchi stew and bean paste stew. But luckily.. what’s getting me through this is that our wonderful Hansol, packed my biggest bag full of things like Jonggatjib (T/N: It’s the most popular kimchi brand in Korea) kimchi, ramen and Haetban (T/N: The most popular brand of precooked instant rice). He says that when he put the suitcase on the counter and asked the people at the supermarket to pack all the food in there, they asked him.. are you immigrating? lol
(Junsu, 11:21am KST, Twitter) I used to drink coffee mixes.. but once you get used to the taste of Americano.. you start hating it when they add other things into your coffee. Coffee is meant to be enjoyed with the original scent of the coffee beans. People tell me that I shouldn’t drink too much coffee but.. these scientists in England, I think? They said that a person who drinks more than three cups of coffee a day
(Junsu, 11:24am KST, Twitter) actually live longer on average.. than people who don’t.. They say that the reason there’s so much talk about whether coffee is good or bad for you is because there are over 1,000 components in coffee.. Of course, some of them are good for you and some of them are not.. but if drinking coffee means I get to live longer.. wouldn’t you say that’s a good thing..? haha
(Junsu, 11:25am KST, Twitter) I can proudly say that.. I don’t touch nicotine, tar or alcohol.. but I will stick with caffeine.. haha
(Junsu, 07:29pm KST, Twitter) I have received the pictures of children affected by the Japan Tohoku Earthquake who received Christmas presents through “Habitat Santa”, organised by Jedusbody and Mari Christie, Goodwill Ambassador for UN Habitat. Seeing everyone happy makes me happy as well. I will continue to donate.

Kim Junsu’s 150-minute-long performance of sincerity and vocal talent has left a lasting impression in the hearts of his fans.
C-JeS Entertainment stated, “Following the previous year’s concert, Kim Junsu held his ’2013 XIA Ballad&Musical Concert with Orchestra vol.2′ and met with 13,000 fans. The concert, which featured a 35-member orchestra and a 100% live performance, had the singer expressing his hopes, dreams and love through musical numbers, ballads and OSTs.
The musical numbers reflected Kim Junsu’s four-year career in the musical industry. Kim Junsu reinterpreted memorable numbers from ‘Mozart!’, ‘Elisabeth’ and ‘December’.
‘The Shadows Get Longer’, ‘Last Dance’, ‘Golden Star’, ‘What A Cruel Life’ became bigger than ever with a chorus and orchestra, while Kim Junsu and his dancers prowled the stage for a more theatrical effect.
His duet with Kim So Hyun was a highlight of the show. Standing on stage together for the first time in four months since ‘Elisabeth’, Kim Junsu and Kim So Hyun sang ‘If You Love Each Other, You’ll Know Each Other’ from ‘Mozart!’ and ‘A Brushing Touch’ from ‘December’, showcasing an amazing harmony of voices. Kim Junsu introduced Kim So Hyun as ‘The goddess of the musical industry’ and said, “I was a fan of Kim So Hyun for so long, and I got to work with her on ‘Elisabeth’ and perform with her during this concert. I’m so happy and grateful to be sharing this stage with her.”
Kim Junsu continued to transform with the help of the various instruments in his orchestra. From melodious ballads to extravagant and overpowering musical numbers and OSTs, Kim Junsu proved why he is called one of the greatest vocalists in the industry. To commemorate his 10th anniversary, a video montage was shown to show how much Kim Junsu has grown in the past four years to become a pillar of the musical industry. The video showed the sincerity and passion Kim Junsu holds for the musical industry, as well as his gratitude for the people who showed their love and support for him in his new career path.
Kim Junsu’s ballads created a beautiful drama for the lovers and families attending his concert. Warmth was added to ’11 o’clock’, a favorite from his second solo album, through an accompanying acoustic guitar, while the ballad version of ‘Incredible’ was met with a positive response from fans.
The OST performances were also another highlight of the show. From ‘Too Love’, which featured a violin solo to his most recent OST ‘I Love You’ and ‘Love is Like a Snowflake’, Kim Junsu sang various OSTs to the delight of his fans.
For ‘Thank U For’, Kim Junsu ran up to the second floor to get up close and personal with his audience. The singer was joined by his dancers as they gave fans high-fives. To go along with the sweet melody of the song, a small event of passing out sweets and chocolates to fans was prepared and the singer was met with a standing ovation.
The countdown event was a rare sight to see. Kim Junsu’s comment that it was 11:55pm, five minutes before the new year, had the screen showing a scene from Times Square in New York. When the clock struck twelve, the orchestra started playing to greet the new year. Kim Junsu was surprised by the audience and staff, who had prepared a birthday party for him as his birthday is on the 1st of January. The romantic countdown event, and Kim Junsu’s surprise birthday party created unforgettable memories for all those who were present.
Kim Soo Min, a fan who attended the concert, stated, “LIstening to ‘Father’, I began to think about my family and those most dear to me. I will be leaving this concert with happiness and excitement for the new year. It was an emotional performance that will be hard to forget,” while Jeon Hyun Sun said, “The musical performances were so touching, and I cried and laughed throughout the whole three hours. I felt happy as it gave me a chance to reflect on the past year. Kim Junsu’s music makes me happy.”
Kim Junsu did not forget to talk about his dreams and aspirations, as he had done in the previous year. He said, “I suffered from my voice cracking for three years. The doctors all told me that I wouldn’t be able to become a singer. But I couldn’t let go of my dreams, so I worked hard and am now standing on this stage. As long as you have the determination, never give up on your dreams and work hard till they come true.”
He also stated, “I’m so happy to be with you all. I’m so happy to hold a concert where I can showcase such great songs from my albums and musicals. I want to hold a Ballad&Musical concert every year. I plan to greet you all with a variety of activities this year. Please anticipate it.”
In 2010, Kim Junsu was pulled out of his despair when he was given the opportunity to appear in a musical. The past four years have seen him greeting fans time and time again on the stage. After his concert ended, Kim Junsu walked around the stage and gave a bow in all directions. He kept saying his farewells, up until the curtains finally closed on him, his dancers and his orchestra. It was a concert that reflected his affection for the stage and his gratitude for his audience members. The fans left his concert with smiles on their faces as they began thinking of their own dreams and aspirations for 2014.
Meanwhile, Kim Junsu will return to the stage on the 2nd of January for the musical ‘December’.

December 26, 2003- a day never to forget for fans of DBSK. I remember watching the BoA and Britney Spears Showcase knowing nothing of this five-member boy group before they sang the first versus of “Hug,” but after they were done wooing the hearts of females everywhere with their sweet voices and looks, I was fascinated. Then when I saw them sing live at one of the weekly music shows, I fell for them hook, line, and sinker. It was so rare then to see a group sing live AND dance at the same time during those days.
In 2008, December 26 was a day to remember fondly forever. Today in 2013, it is a day to remember with bittersweetness. DBSK now celebrates their 10-year anniversary as TVXQ and JYJ, and while I happily congratulate both groups, there is a corner of my heart that is still a bit sad.
Still, December 26 is the day to celebrate these five fantastic boys, excuse me, men, for their hard work and the music and enjoyment they have brought to world over the past ten years. Thank you, Changmin, Junsu, Yoochun, Yunho, and Jaejoong. It’s been a fantastic ten years. Here’s to ten more!
In honor of their 10th anniversary, TVXQ announced that they will be releasing their seventh album on January 6 next year, titled “Tense.” The title track is “Something,” and the TV commercial celebrating the anniversary and the upcoming release will be aired throughout the day today on SBS, KBS, and MBC.
JYJ also released a special video celebrating their 10 years and thanking fans
TVXQ is currently busy with their “Time Slip” concert at SMTOWN Week, holding shows on December 26 and 27. Jaejoong recently completed his “2013 Kim Jaejoong 1st Album Asia Tour,” Junsu is be holding his “2013 Xia Ballad & Musical Concert with Orchestra Vol.2” concert on December 30 and 31, and Yoochun will begin filming for the new SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama “Three Days” in January.

Relive it!
DBKS’s debut performance, singing “Hug” at the BoA and Britney Spears Showcase on SBS.
DBSK’s “Hug” Music Video- Max with his cat, U-Know with his crooked teeth, Hero with his anime hair, Xiah before his “smile angel” days, and Micky with his shiny lips. Also, Go Ara looking so young!
A personal favorite- DBSK (THSK) singing their Japanese track “Bolero” live. I’ve watched this more times than I would like to admit.
Cassies! What are YOUR favorite memories of them?

Wow! What a lot of accomplishments for the year 2013, Birthday Man. We have seen Xia all over the planet, and Kim Junsu all over the entertainment field. He has starred on the song and dance stage in two major Asian and World Tours, and has excited us with the three Xia album hits ‘Uncommitted’, ‘Incredible’, and ’11 am’. Junsu has performed once again in the musical ‘Elisabeth’, and in the ‘Ballad and Musical Concert with Orchestra’. The second ‘Ballad and Musical Concert with Orchestra’ is also coming soon.
Junsu has scored on the soccer field as captain of the FC Men, and, as a fellow member of JYJ, is engaged in promoting the 2014 Incheon Asian Games. He has won many awards and I daresay that I have probably just touched the iceberg tip of his activity schedule. After all, let’s not forget the modeling individually or with JYJ.
Last, but not necessarily least, Junsu is starring as the lead actor in the new musical ‘December. This musical, a tribute to the late singer and songwriter Kim Kwang Seok, premieres June 16th, 2013–one day after the 28th birthday celebration of our own talented Kim Junsu. There will be a release of an album featuring Junsu’s vocals to Kim Kwang Seok’s songs on the 18th of December.
In addition, Junsu has recorded the OST song, ‘I Love You’, for the drama Empress Ki.
Beyond all these things is the inherent musical and personal ability that Xia Junsu has to draw others into the creative human process. Junsu, you are truly loved beyond what you could ever imagine. <3
