I had theĀ opportunityĀ to go on Friday to the Symposium at the University of Michigan and attended the seminars (with the exception of the first block since I drove 3 hours and I overslept 30 minutes >~<), including āOf the fans, by the fans, for the fans ā the Republic of JYJā by Professor Seung-Ah Lee of Los Angles City College.Ā As a scholar, the conference as a whole was very informational and looking forward to the book that the university is planning to published within a year that includes the scholarly papers for each speaker, including the one regarding JYJ ;D.
I was also able to meet a fellow JYJ3 member at the conference when we went up to chat with ProfessorĀ Seung-Ah Lee after her talkĀ š It was nice meeting you Meaghan (not sure of the spelling, sorry) and too bad you had to go home right after the Second block of presentations. Would have loved to get to meet you even more.
I recorded audio of the talk for those that were unable to attend but are interested in what what was said and typed out an outline below:
Ā ]Several presentations had images of the trio since their debut in 2003. I ended the night by stopping atĀ Seoul StreetĀ in Ann Arbor with my group. If anyone is in the area I really recommend. My friend from South Korea said it tasted authentic. We ended up buying Bibimbap, Kimbap, Dukboki, Fried Rice,Ā Budae Jigae and Kimchi! So nommieā¦

It has been revealed that TVXQ will be making a āreturn of the kingsā when they make their comeback in the later half of this year.
TVXQ, whom we met just before the finale of the āTohoshinki Live Tour 2012 ļ½TONEļ½ā concert in the Kyocera Dome Osaka, said, āWe are preparing for our comeback, which is targeted for the later part of this year.ā TVXQ said, āIt seems like we have kept the Korean fans waiting as our activities were centered in Japan for the first half of this year. We will work hard to get closer to the fans in Korea with brand new images. The exact promotional period has not been decided upon, but we want to produce good results at an appropriate time. We would also like to have concerts if possible.ā TVXQ, who has completed 26 concerts over the course of 3 months, at a pace of about one concert every 4 days, will be taking a break before pushing forward with the preparations for their activities in Korea.
Yunho smiled while saying, āWe would like to rest. The tour has continued throughout these 3 months, so the fatigue which has accumulated cannot be ignored. Although it is true that our stamina is a little weaker since it is the finale, we get burts of energy just with the word āfinaleā.ā Changmin explained, āFirst, I would like to relieve the stress which has built up thus far by doing things such as having a drink with friends. Preparations are underway for an album to be released this year, along with other activities through which we will showcase the best sides of ourselves. In order to prepare well for the album, we will be taking a break after the concerts to recharge.ā

Despite the fact that they havenāt worked in the same company anymore, 5 outstanding members of DBSK can still affirm their tremendous attractiveness in the hearts of thousands of Vietnamese fans by winning the first position in the voting campaign āThe Most Favorite Kpop Artistā in this country in 2011.
The campaign is a major part of 360Kpop Award ā the annual event of 360Kpop (http://360kpop.com) ā the biggest website about Kpop in Vietnam. During one month of running (March 1st , 2012 to April 1st, 2012), the contest attracted thousands of supporters to vote via SMS. As a result, 5 amazing members of DBSK (DBSK Yunho, Changmin and JYJ Junsu, Yoochun and Jaejoong) together, they have become the most favorite group with the total votes of 16,124. Super Junior comes second with 13,743 votes, followed by BEAST (No.3), SHINee (No.4) and SNSD (No.5).
One special thing in the campaign is that the organizers have responded to the wish of Vietnamese Cassiopeia that 5 members are nominated as solely one group ā DB5K (DBSK with 5 members). This will express the dream of their fans to see 5 members standing on stage together and confirm that DB5K will always exist in the hearts of Kpop fans in Vietnam. Besides, with the title of āThe Most Favorite Artist in Vietnamā, Cassiopeia community wishes to see DBSK/JYJ coming to their country in the near future.
