[News] 120524 JYJ’s Kim Jun Soo Starts Two Month Asian Tour
JYJ’s Kim Jun Soo will start his two month long Asian tour.
Kim will hold the concert ‘XIA 1st Asia Tour in Thailand’ in Bangkok, Thailand, on May 27 at 6:00 in the afternoon. This is the first concert he will hold while touring Asia.
Kim previously held a concert in Korea and thrilled over 15,000 people. He will meet about 4,000 people in Thailand.
Kim’s agency, C-JeS Entertainment, says, “Tickets for his Thai concert sold out after only in 10 minutes. His unconventional music video is also receiving an explosive response. Since he held a successful concert in Korea, many Asian countries want to invite him to hold concerts.”
There are 3 big benefits for Kim’s Asia tour.
First, Kim will sing songs live so that people can listen to his talented singing skills.
Kim can sing very well while performing dance songs “Breath” and “Set Me Free,” which include intense choreography.
His emotional and sensational voice complements ballads, including, “Though I Already Know,” “I Don’t Like Love,” and “You are so Beautiful.”
Second, he will give unconventional performances.
Choreography for the title song “Tarantallegra” and “No Gain” was created by popular American choreographer Jeri Slaughter. As a result, the songs include high level and high edge choreography which is perfect for the songs.
Kim’s Asia tour will be another big present for Asian fans who haven’t had the chance to really meet Kim often.
He will also talk honestly about making his album and everyday life.
Kim will hold concerts in 7 cities, including Jakarta, and Indonesia, on June 16.

[NEWS] 120521 Fans Faint During JYJ Member Junsu’s First Solo Concert
On May 19th, JYJ‘s Junsu successfully kicked off his first solo concert, ‘XIA – 1st Asia Tour in Seoul‘, with an audience of 8,000 fans!
C-JeS Entertainment revealed, “The concert was an absolute success to the point that fans just couldn’t bear to leave the concert hall nearly two hours after the concert had already come to an end. There were a lot of fans that fainted in the middle of the concert, so we’re going to have ambulances on standby for today’s concert in advance.”
Fans from Korea, Japan, China, Malaysia, Canada, Chile, France, and other parts of the world flew in for the special two-day concert. Representatives commented, “Fans from all over the world came to congratulate Junsu’s first solo concert.”
Junsu performed all 11 tracks on his solo album as well as several musical numbers, bringing the grand total to 17 performances. He worked hand in hand with his dance team and brought out cheers for the sexiness he was able to exude in “Lullaby” and “Intoxication” especially.

Junsu‘s (XIA) solo album ‘Tarantallegra‘ is receiving an explosive reaction in Japan.
On May 18th, CJES Entertainment revealed, “XIA’s first solo album has taken the #1 spot on Japan’s Itunes. What is even more surprising it that he surpassed Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber to receive the #1 spot, proving XIA’s massive popularity in Japan.”
Pre-orders for ‘Tarantallegra’ grabbed first place at Tower Records Japan as soon as the release date of Junsu’s album was announced earlier this month, and the album completely sold out on the day of its release. Junsu’s solo album also snagged the #1 spot for sales in Japan’s Rakuten and Amazon site.
A music official from Japan stated, “After the explosive amount of pre-order sales, the album is now becoming a scarcity. This is even more surprising because Junsu has not had any activities in Japan lately.”
A representative of CJES Entertainment said, “Japan’s response towards XIA’s first album is really hot. The Japanese public has been looking forward to Junsu’s music and performances, I think it is because of Junsu’s solid fan base in Japan. Another reason why this album is gaining so much popularity is because it’s compelling in that it attempts to be exceptional and sensational at the same time. It’s just a well-made album derived from Junsu’s own skill.”
In related news, ‘Tarantallegra’ is also running short in stock on Korean online sites, and gaining many favorable reviews.

Kim Jun Soo held a press conference at Lotte Hotel in Seoul on May 16 and introduced his first solo album Xia Tarantallegra .
Kim said, “I used my stage name Xia as the title for my first solo album. Xia is my identity and the word includes everything about my identity.”
Kim debuted in 2004 as a member of group TVXQ and used his stage name Xia Jun Soo. Then he left SM Entertainment with Kim Jae Joong and Park Yoo Chun and formed JYJ together.
Kim explained why he used the name Xia again. “I haven’t been changed for the last 8 years so using the name Xia is natural. I didn’t think that much about my name. I don’t mind which name my fans call me among Jun Soo, Kim Jun Soo, Xia, and Xia Jun Soo.”
He added, “I use Xia when I give my autograph. I’ve never changed my autograph either. My situation has been changed but myself hasn’t been changed at all. That’s why I named my album Xia.”

[TRANS] 120516 JYJ’s Kim Junsu, “Difficulties With Broadcast Activities? Times Have Changed”
JYJ’s Junsu, who released his solo album, spoke honestly about his feelings towards being unable to appear on broadcast activities.
On the early afternoon of 16 May, Kim Junsu held his first solo album “Xia Tarantallegra” release press conference at the Seoul Lotte Hotel, and said, “‘Being unable to do broadcasting activities could be a minus point, but nowadays the situation is different from before,” he said honestly.
JYJ are in a situation where, aside from appearing in concerts, dramas and musicals, they are unable to do broadcast activities such as music shows and variety shows.
To this, Junsu sais , “If you release an album, you have to attend the basic broadcasting activities, but these activities cannot be done at all. Even while creating this album it was already assumed that “broadcasting activities cannot be done” but as the album still had to be released, it was a helpless situation.” “Therefore, we had to prove ourselves even more with the quality of the album, and the music video. Although it is just one album and music video, we had to show something even better” he emphasized.
Also, “It is not a good thing to not be doing broadcast activities. If you talk about negative factors, it is a minus point. But times have changed recently. Via youtube and various internet sites, everything you are interested in can be seen. If you have watched my music video, I think that to a certain extent, it is more expensive that most Korean music videos. If you look at Korea, in the situation where you cannot attend broadcast programs, it would be impossible to create such a music video.”
Following that, he said, “Although I cannot attend broadcast programs, I think that I hold on to my freedom of expression. I can show more variety of color,” emphasizing on the positive aspects.

This song was composed and written by Jaejoong. Beautiful collaboration. Junsu, I love your voice here. Momma Cha 🙂
I pause and forget everything for a moment
Just reminiscing the memories that you gave
The flames in my heart that I’ve forgotten
I want you to listen to it
The space in my heart seem to grow narrower
What should I do…I’m sorry but we’re growing further apart
Those precious time (we had), finding other love
I try to erase your scent
CHORUS
Baby even if I found someone new, I can never forget you
Baby you know I can’t forget
Calling you when I’m drunk
Just listen when I say I love you
If you’re thinking of me girl call my name
That’s all that I need
Even if I’m with a another girl
Baby girl Baby girl Baby girl Baby girl
I was too selfish
Had done nothing for you
Feeling sad, I’m just ashamed of myself
Maybe that’s why I’m like this now
I try to make some other excuses by seeing someone new
A happy girl and I…this isn’t it
CHORUS
Baby girl Baby girl Baby girl Baby girl
No matter what happen you will not cry
Its okay there’s no need to blame no more
I will bury in those memories, I won’t forget you
Does that mean anything to you? No gain no gain no gain
Though I don’t need to know your thought
CHORUS

Hello! ^_^
I had the opportunity to go on Friday to the Symposium at the University of Michigan and attended the seminars (with the exception of the first block since I drove 3 hours and I overslept 30 minutes >~<), including “Of the fans, by the fans, for the fans – the Republic of JYJ” by Professor Seung-Ah Lee of Los Angles City College. As a scholar, the conference as a whole was very informational and looking forward to the book that the university is planning to published within a year that includes the scholarly papers for each speaker, including the one regarding JYJ ;D.
I was also able to meet a fellow JYJ3 member at the conference when we went up to chat with Professor Seung-Ah Lee after her talk 🙂 It was nice meeting you Meaghan (not sure of the spelling, sorry) and too bad you had to go home right after the Second block of presentations. Would have loved to get to meet you even more.
I recorded audio of the talk for those that were unable to attend but are interested in what what was said and typed out an outline below:
Several presentations had images of the trio since their debut in 2003. I ended the night by stopping at Seoul Street in Ann Arbor with my group. If anyone is in the area I really recommend. My friend from South Korea said it tasted authentic. We ended up buying Bibimbap, Kimbap, Dukboki, Fried Rice, Budae Jigae and Kimchi! So nommie…
