[TRANS] 130729 Post of JYJ Tweets

Good morning 🙂
(Jaejoong, 8:20am KST, English Tweet) Hi~ pic.twitter.com/PpiynrfASj

He’s reading a lot these days, isn’t he?
(Jaejoong, 8:52pm KST) “Don’t Risk Life and Limb For Happiness” – Richard Carlson- (T/N: Original English title is “What about the Big Stuff: Finding Strength and Moving Forward When the Stakes are High”) *Don’t think of everything that is happening to you in your lives as pain. Take these problems, add a strong sense of faith that you will find happiness, and find a solution to them one by one.* There are so many great books out there. pic.twitter.com/f0Jv7PcA3f

The passage from the book that Jaejoong took a picture of reads,
“Some people are able to overcome pain, sorrow, and hardships quite well. These people with hearts of steel are able to vanquish pain in an instant. Though the sudden death of a loved one makes them sad, they are able to overcome it. This is because humans have a surprisingly strong side to themselves. Though we lose things one by one, we find a way to survive.
However, there are times when you get to a point where you can’t take it anymore. At one point in your life, you are met with pain, sudden death, unexpected accidents and despair. Even if you are not a strong person, you must never surrender to these things. Even if you accept the sorrow, never surrender.”

Wait…. what? O__O

[TRANS] 130731 Max Changmin Says, “The Show Has Helped Change My Bitter And Depressed Personality” (Interview)

Our Changmin has changed~’

TVXQ’s Max Changmin is currently busy training for KBS 2TV’s ‘Our Neighborhood’s Master of Variety and Sports’. Although he has a packed overseas schedule as a singer, he always works hard to complete his missions for the show and is reaping in great success as an emcee. He has won over his viewers with his hard work and effort.

Max Changmin himself is very happy that he was able to join the ‘Our Neighborhood’s Master’ team. During an interview with Newsen, Max Changmin said, “My life has become more enjoyable. I actually found it hard to approach others first and I used to be quite an introvert, but I’ve become more of an extrovert thanks to this show. Exercising and participating in matches together has helped form a natural camaraderie with the others, and I find it easier to keep an eye on those around me.”

Anyone who watches the show can see just how much Max Changmin loves his fellow teammates, and how hard he works for every match and practice session. One of his bowling matches in early July had viewers reaching out for the singer when he cried over an unfortunate loss. Though it was not aired, Max Changmin was crying so hard that he was unable to say his closing comments. The staff came to the decision to cut that scene from the episode.

Regarding this, Max Changmin confessed, “I had become close friends with the other guys like Kang Ho Dong, Lee Soo Geun, Lee Byung Jin, Alex and Jo Dal Hwan and I felt even more disappointed at the loss because I had worked so hard to prepare for the match. I had practiced so hard, giving up my breaks in between our concerts in Japan, so I felt even more upset that I lost. I really wanted to end the match on a high… I felt sorry to the others and I felt disappointed at myself. There were so many emotions running through me.”

According to Max Changmin’s close acquaintances, he is the kind of person who always works hard at what he does. Not even the smallest things pass by him unattended to. Because of this, he has felt an immense sense of responsibility about appearing on the show. Staff members who saw the ripped skin on his hands from bowling too much even said, “Your primary job is being a singer. Focus on that. Take care of yourself so that you can focus on your concerts as well.”

However, Max Changmin refused to give up his Japanese concerts or his bowling matches. He had always laid low during his breaks, but since beginning the show, he began going to bowling alleys whenever he had a moment to spare and kept practicing as much as he could. Max Changmin said, “Practicing and getting used to the sports made me feel more at ease with myself. I think that’s why the tears came after I lost. I think those tears were proof that I’ve gotten more comfortable with the show.”

The singer has gained so much through the show. Not only has he become close friends with people such as Lee Soo Geun, Jo Dal Hwan and Kang Ho Dong, and has currently become closer with stars such as John Park and 2PM’s Chansung. He has been meeting with Chansung for dinner often and they have finally begun to feel more comfortable around each other for the first time in years.

Max Changmin smiled and said, “The kid who used to stay at home and sit around every day is now sweating it out and moving around. It’s helped a lot with my personality. In the past, I used to feel very bitter and depressed. But participating in sports activities through the show has helped me release my stress faster and it’s making me much happier. I’m grateful to myself for taking on this challenge. I’ve found a new sense of vitality in my life.”

[TRANS] 130728 Requests Flood In For Kim Junsu’s Appearance On ‘Inkigayo’ But The Staff Stay Silent

juneinkigayo

The viewers’ request page of SBS’ ‘Inkigayo’ has been flooded with fans asking for JYJ’s Junsu to appear on the show. This has been happening for all three major music programs, including KBS’ ‘Music Bank’ and MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’.

One viewer stated, “Till when will you tread on glass around large entertainment agencies and concede to their every whim,” and “Viewers are bored with the same celebrities always appearing on the show, and people don’t watch the show anymore because they’re bored.”

They continued to add, “The FTC have made their verdict, and now is the time to give Junsu an chance,” and “We want to see Junsu, the frontrunner of K-pop, on a broadcasted stage in Korea.”

JYJ left TVXQ in 2009 and since then, have been unable to appear on broadcasted music programs due to external pressure. The FTC recently found SM Entertainment and the Korean Federation of Pop Culture and Arts Industries guilty of interfering with JYJ’s activities. With the FTC’s verdict made on the 24th, JYJ’s fans began expecting to see JYJ on stage in the near future.

However, the staff of the show have stayed silent, regardless of the viewers’ requests. Although it has become the hottest issue of the week in K-pop, not a single staff member of any broadcasted music program has expressed his or her opinion on the matter through official posts, SNS accounts or news articles.

In order to ‘strengthen communication with viewers’, all three major broadcasted music programs

have incorporated SNS points, and text message votes into their ranking systems, but they have stayed silent when it comes to requests made by the viewers themselves. Broadcasting companies use viewers when they need to, but do not reflect their requests or opinions at all.

Another viewer stated, “Legally, all restrictions against JYJ have disappeared,” and “We hope that the media remembers that their most important role is to promote fairness.” It is time for the staff of music programs to express their official stance to gain the trust of their viewers.

[TRANS] 130724 JYJ’s FTC Verdict, 180,000 Fans Come Together To Solve The Problem

– SM and the KFPCAI have received a rectification order, the efforts of fans in the past three years has been tremendous
– 80,000 people participate in petitions during 3 weeks of 2011. Total participants in the movement is 180,000 people

jyjftcverdict

The fans move, and the fans succeed.

The Fair Trade Commission (hereafter known as the FTC) has sided with JYJ’s Kim Junsu, Kim Jaejoong and Park Yoochun, aided by a whopping 180,000 signatures from JYJ’s fans. On the 24th, the FTC prohibited SM Entertainment (hereafter known as SM) and the Korean Federation of Pop Culture and Arts Industries (KFPCAI) from interfering with JYJ’s activities. In their announcement, the FTC stated, “We received many petitions from fanclubs, asking us to allow JYJ to appear on broadcasted programs.” It was found that these ‘petitions from fanclubs’ were the work of both domestic and overseas fans. Some people on Twitter wrote, “The petitions mentioned by the FTC are those that were signed by 180,000 international fans. We were told by the judge that our petitions had been accepted.”

In an interview with edaily StarIN, Lawyer Lim Sang Hyuk, who was in charge of legal advice for JYJ, stated, “The latest decision by the FTC was a result of the fans’ efforts, rather than the work of C-JeS Entertainment or our legal team.” Lawyer Lim stated that the fans were the ones to collect and submit the petitions, as well as file the initial report, and today’s verdict was a result of the FTC investigating exactly what the fans had reported.

JYJ’s fans submitted their petitions to the Seoul District Courts and the Fair Trade Commission on the 28th of February, 2011. One fan who was studying in law school in the US at the time headed the petitions, which were translated into ten languages including French, Portuguese, Turkish and Spanish. Starting on the 2nd of February, the petitions collected a total of 86,418 signatures from 118 countries in a mere three weeks. The petition was submitted to the FTC as a report that required a legal solution. More petitions were added later to bring the number up to 180,000 participants.

The results led to the FTC announcing on the 22nd, “JYJ released their first album in October of 2010 and tried to resume their activities as singers, but SM and the KFPCAI interfered with their activities in the entertainment industry by releasing an official notice that asked those in the industry to refrain from inviting or allowing JYJ to appear on televised programs.” C-JeS Entertainment expressed their welcome for the verdict as they stated, “We believe that the FTC’s recent order to rectify such actions will shed light on the tyranny of super powers in the industry who go against the innovative economy policies of the current government.”

Regarding this, SM stated, “It is unfortunate that such a verdict was made, although there was no evidence to prove that such interference had taken place,” and, “SM is currently reviewing the option of pursuing legal action against this latest decision.”

Kim Junsu, Kim Jaejoong and Park Yoochun, who are former members of TVXQ, brought up the issues surrounding their exclusive contract with SM in June, 2009 and entered a legal dispute with the entertainment agency. Both sides were then locked in a legal battle regarding the validity of their exclusive contract, which finally came to an end on the 28th of November, 2012 through a settlement.

[Trans] 130724 JYJ’s Official Statement, “We Are Grateful For The FTC’s Verdict, It Gives Us Strength In This Endless Battle”

JYJ have spoken up regarding the recent decision made by the FTC.

On the 24th of July, the Fair Trade Commission (hereafter known as the FTC) has ordered SM Entertainment and the Korean Federation of Pop Culture and Arts Industries (hereafter known as the KFPCAI), a coalition of 12 pop culture related organizations, to rectify their actions of interfering with JYJ’s broadcasted appearances and activities as singers.

Regarding this, C-JeS Entertainment’s CEO Baek Chang Joo stated, “We would like to thank the FTC for conducting such a transparent investigation for the past three years to eradicate unlawful actions in the industry, collecting evidence of SM Entertainment and principal agents in the culture industry, such as the KFPCAI, unilaterally and systematically interfering with JYJ’s broadcasted appearances.”

jyjblase

CEO Baek Chang Joo welcomed the FTC’s verdict as he stated, “The investigation gave irrefutable evidence that SM Entertainment had violated the Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act by abusing their monopolistic and superior leverage in the entertainment industry to disadvantage those who have different opinions multiple times. We believe that the FTC’s recent order to rectify such actions will shed light on the tyranny of super powers in the industry who go against the innovative economy policies of the current government.”

He also stated, “The development of our nation’s entertainment industry, signified by the Hallyu Wave, will only take place if the creativity and diversity of every participant is respected and guaranteed. This means that we must no longer be swept up in the despotism of the few super powers in the industry. If the Hallyu waves develops henceforth on the basis of a lawful mould, starting with today’s ‘rectification order’, we believe that this will be an opportunity to leap forth into the world again.”

CEO Baek Chang Joo added, “Although JYJ’s legal dispute with their former agency was concluded in April, JYJ still suffered from unlawful external pressure. Including the unilateral notification they received from their album distribution company recently, it is an undeniable fact that JYJ have unlawfully been restricted from appearing on music programs, even when they release albums. This is an embarrassing truth in our society today. But if policies and institutions continue to be the foundation of change, as they were today, we believe that JYJ will be able to perform on a fair stage in the future.”

JYJ stated, “We would like to thank the FTC for their decision. Though it feels as though we have been locked in a hard battle since 2009 and are walking in an endless desert, today’s verdict gave us strength to keep going as it showed that the situation is slowly changing for the better. We hope that the FTC’s verdict will allow us to freely pursue activities in the entertainment industry and stand on a fair stage in front of the public. We also hope that such roads are also opened for our juniors as well.”

They continued to add, “Although a long and dark tunnel still lies ahead of us, we saw a strand of light in the far distance flash by our eyes. We will continue to walk towards that light, and we will always do our best to repay everyone with great performances and activities.”

Meanwhile, the FTC charged SM and the KFPCAI for interfering with JYJ’s activities in the entertainment industry when the group released their first album in October, 2010 after filing for independence from SM due to issues regarding an unlawful contract.

Regarding the FTC’s verdict, SM Entertainment stated, “It is unfortunate that such a verdict was made, although there was no evidence to prove that such interference had taken place. SM is currently reviewing the option of pursuing legal action against this latest decision.”

[TRANS] 130721 “Junsu! Junsu!” The 3,000-Strong Shouts That Rang Throughout A Bangkok Concert Arena

JYJ’s Kim Junsu opens his ‘Incredible’ Asia Tour in Bangkok, Thailand

“Junsu! Junsu! Junsu!”

On the 20th, the 3,000 fans gathered at the Siam Paragon in Bangkok, Thailand shouted these two syllables ‘Junsu’ as loud as they could.

When the lights darkened and the instrumental of his last album ‘Tarantallegra’ began playing, their shouts only intensified, switching quickly to ‘Hey! Hey!’ to go along with the song.

Although the song was in Korean, a language that is quite foreign to them, the fans followed along with the cheers to greet the night’s star to their country.

This set the scene for JYJ Kim Junsu (26)’s first concert in Bangkok, Thailand for his second Asia Tour ‘Incredible’.

Fans held picket signs that read ‘XIA Daebak (Big Hit)’, handed out by local fansites such as ‘JYJ Box’ and ‘Coconut Xia’, and packed the venue. A sea of red rises up and down as fans hold red fanlights, JYJ’s color.

What stuck out was the fact that the concert venue was filled with teens, middle-aged parents with their children, and Koreans living in Thailand.

The day’s concert was the first event since the singer’s ‘Incredible’ showcase on the 15th.

After greeting his fans in Thai with a ‘Sawadikap (Hello)’, Kim Junsu said, “I’ve decided to kick off my tour with songs from my first and second album. Thailand has more passion than any other place I know. I’ll go all the way today.”

With a video that showed him shyly admitting his feelings to someone, he returned to the stage with a pink suit on to perform ‘I’m Confessing To You Right Now, Okay?’, ‘Chocolate Girl’, that has a sound as sweet as its name, and ‘No Reason’, which featured an erotic performance with the female dancers on a sofa.

Though there weren’t any ‘eye-popping’ special effects, Kim Junsu filled the stage with ballads that showcased his amazing vocal talents with ‘Don’t Go’ and ’11 o’clock’.

Fans didn’t let a single moment pass them by, whether Kim Junsu was drinking water, or had his veins popping on his neck as he sang the soulful ‘Rainy Eyes’, or was wiping the sweat off himself with a towel.

Fans could also hear the singer perform familiar drama OSTs such as ‘Love is like a Snowflake’ from ‘Nice Guy’, and ‘Foolish Heart’ from ‘Chunmyung’.

At his fans’ request, Kim Junsu sang the ‘Gwiyomi (Cutie) Song’, starting with “1 plus 1 is Gwiyomi” and also performed Ayaka’s ‘Minna Sorano Shita’ and Song Joong Ki’s ‘Nice Guy’ OST ‘Really’ without an instrumental, which was met with thunderous applause from the crowd.

The short videos that had been prepared in between the performances were another sight to see. The road that ‘Singer Kim Junsu’ has walked down was shown through pictures from his childhood and trainee days, and Thai subtitles ensured that the fans would be able to understand the video. When a kiss scene with an actress appeared on the screen, fans would be heard screaming “NO~” from even the very back of the crowd.

The atmosphere of the concert was at its climax during the last song of the night, ‘Incredible’, which also happens to be the title song of the singer’s second album.

Kim Junsu ran up to the front of the ‘I’-shape stage and had both hands in the air as he got his fans to join along. All his fans stood up and shook their fanlights as they danced to the music. Some even left their seats and ran up to the fence in front of the stage to get a closer look.

Mrs. Apapat (48), who attended the concert with her daughter Tataraphun (20), said, “Both of us really like Junsu,” and “My daughter says she likes him because he sings so well, and I like him because he always does his best and works hard, which makes him a great role model for my daughter. Like how we came to this concert together, Junsu has bettered our relationship and increased the amount of conversations we share.”

Kim Junsu will move on to Shanghai, China on the 28th, and then move on to perform in Seoul and Busan.

“I opened my Asia tour last year in Bangkok as well, and I think I’ve finished on a high with a lot of energy. I received so much energy and strength from the audience today. I will work hard to continue that ‘unlimited energy’ that I received today in the other countries I visit.”

[TRANS] 130721 ‘World Tour’ TVXQ Arrive In Shanghai, China.. ‘Captivates 10,000 Fans’

On their world tour, TVXQ have performed in LA, USA, Santiago, Chile, and now Shanghai, China.

TVXQ held their ‘TVXQ! LIVE WORLD TOUR ‘CATCH ME’ in SHANGHAI’ concert at 7:30pm at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, China. They captivated 10,000 fans with an amazing performance and great stage sets.

On this day, TVXQ performed a total of 25 songs, including hits like ‘Catch Me’, ‘Humanoids’, ‘Rising’, Why? Keep Your Head Down’, and ‘Mirotic’, as well as solo performances by U-Know Yunho and Max Changmin of ‘Honey Funny Bunny’ and the Chinese ballad ‘Ting Hai (聽海)’ respectively.

hominconcertshanghai

Fans in the audience held pearl-red fanlights and sang along in Korean, enjoying the performance to the fullest and even prepared a paper slogan event that said ‘TVXQ! Let’s Fly’, touching TVXQ and making the atmosphere of the concert better than ever.

There was fierce competition at the arena to grab last-minute tickets on the day of the concerts, and countless fans flocked to the area to take their chance. As they rushed towards the entry gate, the door at the gate broke, requiring the presence of public safety officials to sort things out.

Meanwhile, TVXQ have now successfully completed their Shanghai performance and are set to become the first non-Japanese singers to perform at Japan’s Nissan Stadium on the 17th and 18th of August. These two performances will conclude their large-scale Japanese tour that is expected to attract a total of 850,000 people.
