[TRANS] 131113 ‘Road Of Hope’ U-Know Yunho, “I Learned So Much From The Children Of Africa”

yunhoghanaI think I learned more from the children in Africa than they learned from me.”

U-Know Yunho attended the press conference of KBS’ ’2013 Road Of Hope’ program that was held in Yeoido and said, “I left with the determination to create great memories with the children I was set to meet.”

He continued to add, “I learned about what the children need most. Solving hunger is more important than curing illnesses for them, and they all have a sadness in them that can only be born from experience,” and “I realized that things I take for granted aren’t always available in the opposite side of the world.”

Near the end of his speech, U-Know Yunho stated, “Although I went on this journey to do something for the children, I came back with so many dreams that they gave me.”

The special ’2013 Road of Hope’ program will follow top stars like Lee Bo Young, Park Sang Won, U-Know Yunho and Kim Mi Suk as they travel to impoverished countries to give hope to the children who live there.

Meanwhile, the heartwarming stories will begin airing every Saturday at 5:30pm on KBS1 from the 16th of November.

[Info] 130910 The Music: EXCLUSIVE Interview with Duane Adler of “Make Your Move 3D”

duaneadler

Duane On Set – (Left to Right) Will Yun Lee, Jefferson Brown, Rich Ting, and Derek Hough

Below is Part III of a 4-part interview with Duane Adler, the screenwriter and director of Make Your Move 3D.

If you missed Parts I and II, you will definitely want to catch up here and here. Enjoy Part III below. :-)

Part III – The Music

Make Your Move Fans: The casting of Yunho in a cameo role has created quite a sensation. How did you decide to include him in the film?

Duane: I’ll be honest, the casting of Yunho was our partner SM Entertainment’s idea! They first suggested he do a cameo because he’s such an amazing dancer and performer, and they knew he would attract attention to the movie in parts of Asia. I had been to the SM Town concert at the Staples Center in October of 2010 (that’s actually where BoA and Derek first met!), and I saw TVXQ! perform live.

Staples Center During a SM Town Concert-the night that BoA and Derek first met.

During their number, Yunho had this spectacular solo that I thought was one of the closest performances I’d ever seen to Michael Jackson. He was incredible. So once SM suggested him, I loved the idea, but the logistical part of getting him in the movie was going to be a challenge. We were shooting in Toronto and his schedule was super tight. Once we locked our shoot schedule, SM Entertainment worked hard to find a window in Yunho’s schedule where he could fly to Toronto. They found two days! He had only two days to be in and out of the city.

NappyTabs created the choreography in Toronto, and they would upload it to Yunho in Korea, where he learned the choreography. But we were on such a tight schedule, if there had been any delays at the airport, we would have had to cut the number, because we only had that specific location for a specific time. Yunho arrived on Wednesday evening late in Toronto, and he went straight to the rehearsal studio with NappyTabs and our dancers, where he rehearsed for several hours with jet lag. The next morning, he reported to set early to shoot and just killed it.

I’m not sure I’d ever seen a dancer work as hard as he did. Once I called cut, he would be ready to go again in a matters of moments. He was incredibly gracious to all our crew, who knew he was a big star in Korea, but no one really knew how big until he arrived on set – there was just this energy about him that was contagious. We’re lucky we have him in the film.

Alumni Jung Yunho (TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho, Movie-Musical Major, Class of ’11)

“If you have a positive mind and work hard in your preparation and actions, you will be met with good results.”

Q. Please introduce yourself to our future and current Myongji University students and tell us what you’ve been up to.
A. Hello. This is TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho. Our Five Dome Tour in Japan began at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama on the 27th of April. Our last concerts in Japan were held from the 15th till the 17th of May at Tokyo Dome. Many Japanese fans came to our concert, so I was able to pour all of my passion into my performances. I believe that I was able to end the tour in success because of the attention and support given to us from Myongji University alumni and our fans.

Q. Please tell us about your future plans.
A. In July, we’ll be continuing our world tour in North and South America, and China. In August, we’ll be the first non-Japanese artistes to perform in Japan’s Nissan Stadium, the stage of dreams. This is something I feel every time I stand on stage for a concert, but the fact that our concerts give hope to so many people makes me feel so emotional. I believe that the success we’ve experienced till now is all thanks to the support of my fellow Myongji University alumni and the love of our fans. I hope to see you all soon as a great performer and a great actor.

Q. Do you have any advice for future and current Myongji University students?
A. I believe that the things we see and learn in school help us greatly in our transition to society. I think that you need to have the determination to see things through till the very end, no matter what you start, if you want good results. No matter what happens, if you have a positive mind and work hard in your preparation and actions, you will be met with good results. Most of all, you have to believe in yourself. To my future and current Myongji University juniors, always believe in yourselves and be willing to take on new challenges.

Gwangju’s Hallyu star U-Know Yunho (27) has been chosen as the honorary ambassador of ‘the 2013 Gwangju Design Biennale’.

The Gwangju Biennale Foundation announced that they have chosen popular Hallyu group TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho (Jung Yunho) as the honorary ambassador of the 2013 Gwangju Design Biennale.

The foundation stated that they have chosen U-Know Yunho as their honorary ambassador because his image as the center of the Hallyu pop culture goes well with the image of the Gwangju Design Biennale.

With BoA singing the logo song and U-Know Yunho acting as the honorary ambassador, this year’s Gwangju Design Biennale is set to be more approachable to visitors.

This year’s biennale gallery will feature the special ‘My Favorite Gwangju’ corner, which will be designed by U-Know Yunho himself through his reminiscence of his hometown, Gwangju. U-Know Yunho’s participation is meant to work with the biennale’s ‘Anyone can be a designer’ theme and has been created to initiate communication between designers and the masses.

Meanwhile, the main theme of the 2013 Gwangju Design Biennale is ‘Whatchamacallit, Thingamajig’ and will be held from the 6th of September till the 3rd of November for 59 days at the Gwangju Biennale gallery.

[Trans] 130320 [Queen Of Ambition] Though Jung Yunho Has Left, The Love Of His Fans Remains

[Trans] 130320 [Queen Of Ambition] Though Jung Yunho Has Left, The Love Of His Fans Remains

Though Jung Yunho has left ‘Queen of Ambition’, his fans’ passion still remains with the drama.

Jung Yunho’s departure from the SBS’ Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Queen of Ambition’ was marked by his character(Do Hoon)’s unfortunate death during the 18th episode. After Do Hoon’s death, various online communities and fanclub sites were flooded with messages of disappointment and encouragement.

Do Hoon’s sorrowed smile as he dreamed of calling out “Mom!” before his death had the fans’ hearts in pieces. His fans created a ‘Baek Do Hoon Resurrection Committee’ and made a request to resurrect the character but have now accepted that his death was necessary for the drama’s development. They are now continuing their love for ‘Queen of Ambition’, as though they are following the wishes that were expressed by Jung Yunho in his final letter for the drama.

Jung Yunho opened up on the drama’s homepage and stated, “I was able to learn so much from this precious experience,” and “Please love ‘Queen of Ambition’ till the very end.” The ‘resurrection’ committee has been turned into a ‘mourning’ committee, and the fans have stepped up to act as the honorary ambassadors of ‘Queen of Ambition’.

Some fans have printed out flyers and handed them out in the street while others have printed thousands of promotional bookmarks and placed them in bookstores around Seoul. There wasn’t a sudden decrease in viewer ratings either, something that had been a concern for the drama since the death of Do Hoon. Considering the fact that the majority of Jung Yunho’s fans are teenagers and women in their 20s and 30s, a drop in viewer ratings was expected, but most fans have continued their support for ‘Queen of Ambition’.

The dedication of Jung Yunho’s fans has been garnering attention since the drama’s press conference. They sent a total of 20 tons of rice wreaths and have also sent lunch boxes to the cast and crew. The fans’ also paid for promotional advertisements on buses and the subway, and provided the cast and crew with winter clothes to battle the cold weather.

Their consideration was greater than the love that has ever been seen for an idol star, and the reason for such dedication was to show the fans’ anticipation and support for Jung Yunho’s decision to work on his acting career.

As though he sensed the support of his fans, Jung Yunho worked hard and received high praise for his improved and sophisticated acting, and many are now curious to see what drama he will take on next.

Though rookie actor Jung Yunho will now return on stage as U-Know Yunho, ‘the king of the stage’, his fans’ love for ‘Queen of Ambition’ lives on.

‘Queen of Ambition’ Yunho Speaks of Leaving Drama, “I Hope my Acting Helped”

Singer and actor Yunho spoke about leaving SBS drama, “Queen of Ambition.”

In episode 18 of the drama, Yunho finished his part of the drama as he died. He said, “Through this drama, I realized the importance of faith. I tried my best to make my acting help the drama in every way possible even though I lacked a lot.”

The ‘faith’ that Yunho spoke of had 3 different meanings. It was faith in his fellow actors and staff members who worked with him through thick and thin despite the cold weather and busy schedule, the true love and trust of family toward his mother Dokyung and wife Da Hae in the drama and the faith in the viewers who supported him until the end.

Even though he is a member of the world-famous group TVXQ, Yunho emphasized that he is still an amateur actor, and had to try a lot while filming. He called Soo Ae and Kwon Sang Woo by their drama names, and showed great humility and serving heart as he was the youngest one of the cast members.

As soon as Yunho’s last scene filming ended, the staff members and other actors gave him a warm applause. Yunho hugged every single one of them to thank them.
