[Trans] 130117 Kim Jaejoong’s Solo Album Scores An All-Kill On Music Sites… Makes His Mark As A True Artiste

Kim Jaejoong has finally returned to our side with an album.

This album signifies Kim Jaejoong’s first solo activities as a singer and has a total of five rock genre tracks, but each song captures the unique style of Kim Jaejoong to showcase a variety of techniques in one album. In the pre-released song ‘One Kiss’ and ‘Mine’, which had its music video released on the night of the 16th, the intense sound and Kim Jaejoong’s explosive vocal talent are the main charms of the song. Meanwhile, the newly revealed tracks, ‘You Fill Me Up’, ‘My Own Consolation’ and ‘All Alone’, showcase his mellow voice with a melodious track. Overall, the album is being praised as a ‘high quality album’.

Mine’, which received an explosive response after having its music video released at midnight on the 17th, perfectly combines Kim Jaejoong’s explosive vocal talent with well-expressed emotions and topped the music charts of Bugs and Cyworld as soon as it was released. The intense beat, sophisticated melody line and honest lyrics stimulate the listeners’ ears and has made its mark as the most trendy song of the winter.

‘You Fill Me Up’ and ‘All Alone’ are melodious rock ballads that showcase the consideration the artiste has put in to ease fans into rock. If ‘Mine’ was an intense song, than these two tracks  have Kim Jaejoong’s mellow and emotional voice melting into the songs to tug at the heartstrings of listeners. The last track All Alone was composed and written by Kim Jaejoong, and the calming piano instrumental leaves a big impact.

‘One Kiss’, one of the tracks of Kim Jaejoong’s first solo mini album, topped the iTunes rock charts of nine countries including Japan, Singapore and Taiwan, as well as domestic music charts. The four other tracks that were released today ranked first to fourth on Bugs and Cyworld’s music charts, helping Kim Jaejoong making his mark as ‘Artiste Kim Jaejoong’.

Meanwhile, Kim Jaejoong will be holding a very special concert ‘Your, My and Mine’ at the Ilsan KINTEX on the 26th and 27th.

“MINE ”

Lyrics by Kim Jaejoong
Music by Kim Bada

넌 지독해 병에 걸린사람 같아 너
You are terrible. It’s like you are diseased, you

비명 섞인 폭주에 뱉은 독
Poison spat out in the wild runaway mixed with screams

이미 난 익숙한 독
Poison that I am already used to

왜 이렇게시끄럽게 소리지를까 OK?
Why does it scream out so loudly?

꿈은 깨줄께 왜 허무해?
I will wake up from the dream. Why, do you feel empty?

여긴 오지마 나의 바다야
Don’t come here This is my ocean

생각지도 못한 고통과 싸우기 바빠
I am busy fighting against pain that I’ve never thought of

내 바다야 나의 바다야
It is my ocean This is my ocean

나를 비춘 태양마저 가리려 하지마
Don’t try to block the sun that shines on me

(달콤한..)
(Sweet..)

달콤한 쾌락은 너무 달아 날 온통 삼켜버려
Sweet pleasure is so sweet that it swallows me up whole

왜 이렇게 시끄럽게 하고 다닐까 OK?
Why does it make so much noise OK?

울려퍼지게 말할게
I will say it so it resonates

여긴 오지마 나의 바Don’t come here This is my ocean

여기마저 오염 돼버릴까 두려워
I am afraid that this place will become tainted too

내 바다야 나의 바다야
It is my ocean, This is my ocean

나를 비춘 태양마저 가리려 하지마
Don’t try to block the sun that shines on me

하지마 나의바다야
Don’t do it This is my ocean

나를 비춘 태양마저 가리려 하지마
Don’t try to block the sun that shines on me

[TRANS] 130116 The Music Video Of Kim Jaejoong’s Title Song ‘MINE’ To Be Released At Midnight On The 17th

The music video of JYJ Kim Jaejoong’s title song ‘MINE’ for his solo mini album will be released soon.

C-JeS will be released the music video of ‘MINE’ on JYJ’s official YouTube channel at midnight on the 17th.

Kim Jaejoong wrote the lyrics for all the songs in his upcoming mini album and has filled it with his own stories to share.

‘One Kiss’ was pre-released on the 9th, and showcased Kim Jaejoong’s charming voice and exceptional vocal talent. The song received an explosive response on domestic and overseas charts.

C-JeS Entertainment stated, “We can say with certainty that this will be the most sensational music video of this year. The best staff have come together and the power of the song was magnified in the music video,” and “The music video was shot for a total of 60 hours, and Kim Jaejoong put all his concentration into his work, regardless of the risks of injuries, to make sure that the best scenes would be included in his music video. He received high praise from the staff members.”

Director Lee Sang Gyu, who directed the music video, commented, “The lyrics of ‘MINE’ seemed to reflect the agony and loneliness of an artiste who is trying to establish his own territory. Such an intricate and complicated world was expressed through a variety of symbolic images, and we added the transcendental image of the coexistence of good and evil to carefully express the thirst of an artiste who wishes to be different from what is considered normal.”

Meanwhile, Kim Jaejoong’s first mini album ‘MINE’ will be release online and offline on the 17th

[TRANS] 130111 [Interview] TVXQ l Changmin “I Find Joy In The Thought That Today Is Always Better Than Yesterday”

[TRANS] 130111 [Interview] TVXQ l Changmin “I Find Joy In The Thought That Today Is Always Better Than Yesterday”

TVXQ’s ‘maknae’ (youngest member). A small and quiet voice. The face of a person who grew up well. These were the few images we remembered of Max Changmin before the interview. Even during it, he was quiet, well-mannered, and gave us a peek at the humor that befits the youngest of the group. With these characteristics, Max Changmin talked about the TVXQ we know today. A group that has a very distinct divide between passionate fans and the public. A group that is creating its identity from scratch yet again. Max Changmin calmly discussed these points that others may have been hurt to hear about. And in that calmness, he is nurturing his competitiveness. He knows he is lacking in his dancing skills, so he works on it like a madman. He is nurturing his competitiveness to “never regress and nurture my promising skills whenever I start something.” The youngest who had always smiled is now starting to let his voice be heard, and he objectively looks back on his team’s progression and thinks of what will come next. He says he keeps moving forward with the thought that ‘There must be something more to come’, and it sounds more like a spell he places on himself rather than a mere wish. So many things have happened, but there must still be something more to come. For TVXQ. For Max Changmin.

– You’ve completed all activities for your second album as a duo. How would you critique yourself?Max Changmin: Our activities for our fifth album ‘Why’ were filled with songs and lyrics that worked well with our situation at that time as a duo. We did have the intention of showing that we were still going strong. But when we were preparing for this album, we were really worried because we thought that since the fans and public match TVXQ’s image with a ‘strong, intense’ performance, that image would just intensify more and more if we kept performing that kind of music. To be honest, ‘Catch Me’ wasn’t a song that completely appealed to the public, so I won’t go out on a limb and deny that there are as many people who didn’t like the song as there are people who did. But we have to embrace that response, and when I look back on our activities, I believe it was a transition period that we had to experience eventually. It was another step we took to widen the spectrum we have

“I fell for Choreographer Tony Testa’s compliments”

– With regards to widening the spectrum, the performance of ‘Catch Me’ begins with the two of you facing each other like a mirror, battling it out and then expanding to include the dancers. You must have had to put in a lot of effort to go one on one with U-Know Yunho, whose biggest strength is in dancing?
Max Changmin: Because everything was a new challenge, from the choreography to the song itself, I think I took on everything with more ‘determination’ than usual. Yunho is such a good performer to begin with and the ‘Catch Me’ choreography is about seeing another side of myself, so I was worried that the quality of the performance would be damaged if one person fell behind. I’m not someone who has a lot of confidence about my dancing, but Choreographer Tony Testa kept complimenting me over and over again. I fell for his sweet talk of, “Max, you’re really great. You have talent. Have confidence in yourself.” (laughter)

– If ‘Catch Me’ is a performance with a perfect concept, ‘Humanoids’ feels like it’s less intense and more relaxed within a generalized style of choreography.
Max Changmin: Tony Testa had to express the rage against a lover who is trying to leave with his ‘Catch Me’ choreography so I thought, ‘Ah. We must be the only people this guy is doing this to.’ (laughter) But then I saw Jong Hyun’s expression in SHINee’s ‘Sherlock’ and I could see that he had asked Jong Hyun to show intense emotions on his face as well. On the other hand, I felt like I could be more relaxed and enjoy dancing to ‘Humanoids’.

– ‘How are you’ focuses on the two people’s harmony, while songs like ‘destiny’ and ‘getaway’ utilize your vocal talents to the extreme. How was it recording an album as you increased your responsibilities as a vocalist and took on a new challenge?
Max Changmin: In the past, we were given parts that really fit our vocal range from the part-division process, and I was usually in charge of what people call the ‘screaming’ part of the songs. But now that it’s just the two of us, if we don’t expand the range we can take on, people will look at us and think, ‘As expected, they can’t do it with just two people,’ so we worked really hard on that. People around me tell me to take care of my throat and they tell me not to push it too far because I’ll have a hard time when I get older, but thankfully, I’m still okay. I think I’ve discovered my own techniques, and I think we’re able to carry a song from the beginning to the end better than before. Though that may be a cocky thought… (laughter)

– Though you were probably stimulated by your competitiveness, there must have been a fundamental change that took place?
Max Changmin: I thought to myself that I needed to do really well during the promotions of our last album, and I think for this album, I was more sincere with the recording process than I’ve ever been before. But that doesn’t mean that the pressure has increased. Producer Lee Soo Man said, “You shouldn’t strain yourself for your songs.” I think this applies to anything, though I didn’t know that in the past. So I’m more sincere about my songs these days, but I try to enjoy the whole process.

“I really hate ‘feeling inferior’.”

– It feels as though you look back at, not only yourself, but the past and present of TVXQ, in an objective perspective in order to face what comes next. TVXQ is a team that has always had its own unique color with a passionate, large-scale fandom behind it and you’re currently in the process of remaking that color. What do you worry about as a person in the center of such changes?
Max Changmin: Songs like ‘O-Jung.Ban.Hap’ in the past or last year’s ‘Why’ were ones that our fans liked more than the public. There’s always been a distance that’s stopped us from getting close to the public, so not only did we change our music, but we also appeared in variety programs to create more opportunities to interact with the public. If we get stuck in the mindset that ‘We’re this kind of group, so we should do this’, we’ll fall into mannerisms. We have to keep accepting the changes in the flow of music if we don’t want to be static.

– Could you say that your individual activities, including your role in the Japanese movie ‘Run With the Gold’, are a part of your efforts to appeal to the masses?
Max Changmin: I believe that Yunho and I have to shine brighter as individuals to create a synergy effect that pulls the team forward. And though we’re a group that’s known for our performances, it would be hard for us to keep performing at the intensity we pursue right now forever. As our bodies age, we’ll be less able to perform at that level. (laughter) I think a natural change will come about our activities as we go through that process.

– During your interview for ‘Run With the Gold’, you said, “I’ve done a lot of things as a member of the TVXQ team for the past eight years, but I learned so much by working with such great actors.” What was it like to go from working with TVXQ members you’ve done everything with for years, as well as familiar staff members, to working on something you’ve never done before with people who speak a different language?

Max Changmin:If I had known from the start how hard it was going to be, I probably wouldn’t have done it. (laughter) Because the filming schedule clashed with our live tour schedule, I had to go back and forth from the filming set to the concert venue and it was hard for me to accept the two worlds, that were completely different from each other, into my life. And because I was with actors and staff who were working so hard and giving their all for the movie, I was worried that even if I tried my best, the end result wouldn’t be as good as it should be. But I think what helped was my personality  to never regress and nurture my promising skills whenever I start something.

– Looking back at your transformation from when you made your debut to where you are now, it feels like you enjoy the process of running headlong into things and progressing.
Max Changmin: What’s quite strange is that from the beginning, I’ve never had the dream of ‘I want to be a singer who sings this kind of music’ or ‘I want to be an actor who does that kind of acting’. Back when it hadn’t been long since my debut, everyone else had a dream so I used to believe that I was wrong for thinking that way. Even now, I don’t have an ultimate goal. But to use a common phrase to describe my personality, I really hate ‘feeling inferior’. (laughter) I find joy in the thought that today is always better than yesterday, and I want to keep moving forward.

– You’re only 24 but you’ve already accomplished so many things as a member of TVXQ, and you’re going to be the first Korean singer to hold a five-leg Dome tour in Japan. What lies ahead of you after this?
Max Changmin: I haven’t really thought about what I should do next. But I have a vague anticipation that when we finish our Dome tour, there will be a bigger stage waiting for us, and there will be a new world that we haven’t experienced yet. That anticipation of ‘There must be something more to come’ is what has kept me moving forward till now.

[Trans] 130112 Park Yoochun Hopes To Break Into China, Hints At Ending Of “I Miss You”

[Trans] 130112 Park Yoochun Hopes To Break Into China, Hints At Ending Of “I Miss You

The “Park Yoochun Media Day” event was held in Beijing on 11 January. The popular Korean singer-actor met with the fans and media in Beijing after one and a half years, and there were over 100 media present that day. Yoochun thanked the fans who have been supporting him for the past 10 years since his debut, and also spoke freely about the dramas that he has acted in over the past 3 years, going into details about his two popular pieces from 2012, the dramas “Rooftop Prince” and “I Miss You.”

When Park Yoochun arrived at the Beijing airport on 10 January, a large number of fans carrying blue balloons and blue banners greeted him there, and there were even fans who had clothes pegs in their hair just like the younger Lee Soo Yeon did in “I Miss You.” Netizens said that the “airport had become a concert hall,” proving Yoochun’s high popularity in China.

Full Recap Of The Park Yoochun Press Conference

“Actor Park Yoochun” Surprised at the massive number of views for his dramas on streaming sites

Park Yoochun made his debut in 2003 and became popular as a member of TVXQ, and started activities as part of the group JYJ in 2010. In the same year, he made his official entrance into the Korean drama industry playing a lead role in the drama “SungKyunKwan Scandal”, then participated in “Miss Ripley” in 2011. Within those 2 years, Park Yoochun’s acting skills have gradually matured, and finally, in 2012 he took on a drama that combined the two popular themes of “time-slip” and “crown prince” attained massive local and international popularity for the drama “Rooftop Prince.” Then in winter of 2012, he co-stars with Yoon Eun Hye in the melodrama “I Miss You,” presenting two very different works within the same year and allowing “Actor Park Yoochun” to gain more love and recognition from the audiences.

Park Yoochun said that he felt surprised that his dramas were receiving extremely high views on the Chinese sites. The press conference that was held on this day was actually done because of the dramas, but instead of coming for the sake of promotions, it was due to the great popularity and love from everyone in China that presented him with this opportunity to come to China. On the Korean drama rankings of the Sohu streaming sites, “Rooftop Prince” has been played over 88.38 million times, and with 2 more episodes to the end of “I Miss You,” there have already been over 81.08 million views for the drama, making them the no.4 and no.5 drama on the list, exceeding the numbers for that of hit dramas in 2010 and 2011, “Secret Garden” and “City Hunter.”

Talks in detail about the drama “Rooftop Prince” and hints at spoilers for “I Miss You.”

In previous interviews, Park Yoochun had said that he fell in love with the drama “Rooftop Prince,” and he explained this time that it was because everyone had gotten along really well on set and it felt really good. In the 2012 SBS drama awards, his co-star Han Ji Min had praised Park Yoochun, saying that it was usually the female lead that brightens up the mood on set but Park Yoochun had taken her place in cheering everyone up instead. When talking about the two roles that he had to play in “Rooftop Prince,” Park Yoochun said that he had placed more focus on Lee Gak, as the role of Yong Tae Yong was a new one but Lee Gak’s assumption of his role (in the drama.) He also talked about scenes that left a deep impression on him, such as the happy ending in the final episode as his reincarnation is reunited with Park Ha; the tearful wedding in episode 19 when he leaves the modern world, and how the scene before the wedding where he confesses to Park Ha while lying on the bed had brought tears to his eyes even though the script didn’t call for it, showing how Park Yoochun had become one with his drama character.

As for the current drama “I Miss You” which is still being broadcast, Park Yoochun said that even though many people object to this, he still hopes for a tragic ending, because he feels that only Han Jung Woo’s death can the bring the story to a close. With regards to the character of Han Jung Woo, Park Yoochun said that he envies Jung Woo, because Jung Woo is a normal person, who is very humane, occasionally brash, occasionally childish. As for the kiss scenes which everyone was concerned with, Park Yoochun said that the feeling of the scene that was aired is usually different from when it was shot, but in both dramas, but as he got along well with both female co-stars Han Ji Min and Yoon Eun Hye, shooting the kiss scenes were easy. He also said that the kiss in episode 18 of “I Miss You” is the first time he was kissing and smiling at the same time, as he was always crying in previous kiss scenes.

The lamb skewer-loving Korean idol, unspoken plans to break into China

As for movies, Park Yoochun expressed that he does not feel the rush to appear in movies, and that it wouldn’t be late for him to do so even after he turns 30 or 40. This is because his acting would be more mature by then, and there would be more roles that are suitable for him. As for the genres of movies that he likes, Park Yoochun said that he thought about trying out horror shows but gave up because he was afraid, that shooting love stories are tiring and take up too much energy, and that he really wants to try shooting a war film, for example having 500 horses gallop towards him…a descriptive example with such strong imagery that the media in attendance started laughing. When talking about the delicacies in China, Park Yoochun said that lamb skewers are his favourite, causing the audience to break out into laughter once again.

With his coming to Beijing and holding this press conference so early in 2013, his plans to break into the China market are unspoken yet obvious. Park Yoochun said that he had only gone to Shanghai for his 2012 fanmeeting tour, and was busy with the shooting of “I Miss You” after that, having no chance to come to Beijing. He said that Beijing was very cold, but was actually not as cold as Korea. Time was passing by so quickly that he himself didn’t realise that it had been a year and a half since his last visit for the JYJ concert tour. Currently, he has received a lot of requests to appear in Chinese films and dramas, and that he is still looking for a suitable piece. We hope that in the near future, we will be able to see more of Park Yoochun in China.

[TRANS] 130110 Why Did Kang Ho Dong’s New Variety Show Change Its Name To ‘Moonlight Prince’?

[TRANS] 130110 Why Did Kang Ho Dong’s New Variety Show Change Its Name To ‘Moonlight Prince’?

Kang Ho Dong’s new KBS variety show has changed its name to ‘Moonlight Prince’.

The staff recently confirmed that the title of Kang Ho Dong’s variety show, which will start airing on the third week of January, will be ‘Moonlight Prince’. Though the show was initially set to be called ‘I Like You. A Night to Meet’, the title was changed as it was decided that a title that was shorter and had a greater impact would be more appropriate.

Regarding this, a representative of ‘Moonlight Prince’ explained, “The secret behind the name of the program will be revealed after shooting the first episode. The staff and representatives of the program are keeping everything top-secret. Even the celebrities participating in the show haven’t been told all the specifics of the show. As this is a program that Kang Ho Dong and the staff have spent a lot of time and effort on, we plan to bring a surprise with us when we present the show to viewers.”

A representative of the KBS variety sector also added, “‘I Like You. A Night to Meet’ was only a temporary title. The staff recently held a meeting and have decided to go with a fresh title of ‘Moonlight Prince’.”

‘Moonlight Prince’ will hold its first closed filming on the 12th of January. The first guest has been confirmed as Lee Seo Jin and the talk show will take place in a variety of ways. ‘Moonlight Prince’ will combine the strengths of variety shows like ‘YaShimManMan’, ‘Sang Sang Plus’ and ‘Happy Together’ and honest talk shows like ‘Knee Drop Guru’, ‘Win Win’ and ‘Healing Camp’. The MCs will be part of a ‘Kang Line’ and will have a horizontal relationship rather than a vertical one.

Meanwhile, ‘Moonlight Prince’ is garnering attention for combining the forces of Screenwriter Moon Eun Ae, who is called the Midas of the variety sector and participated in MBC’s ‘Golden Fishery-Knee Drop Guru’, and PD Lee Yae Ji, who has worked on KBS 2TV’s ‘Public Talk Show  Hello’. The MC team is made up of Kang Ho Dong, Choikang Changmin, Brave Brothers, Jung Jae Hyung and Tak Jae Hoon and the show will begin airing on the 22nd at 11:200pm.

[TRANS] 130108 ‘I Miss You’ To Get A One Episode Extension And Will End On The 17th With Its 21st Episode

MBC’s Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘I Miss You’ will end with a total of 21 episodes after recently getting a one episode extension.

The staff of MBC’s ‘I Miss You’ stated on the 8th of January that, “We will be extending ‘I Miss You’ by one episode and will provide viewers with a well-made drama till the very end.”

This means that ‘Level 7 Civil Servant’, the follow-up drama of ‘I Miss You’ will begin airing on the 23rd of January.

Meanwhile, the episode of MBC’s ‘I Miss You’ that aired on the 3rd of January showed Kang Hyung Jun (Yoo Seung Ho) placing the blame of a murder on Lee Soo Yeon (Yoon Eun Hye) to punish her for not loving him. Many are curious to see what Han Jung Woo (Park Yoochun), who has always stayed by Lee Soo Yeon’s side, will do. The next episode will air on the 9th of January at 9:55pm.

130613 Junsoo & Omma – Goose’s Dream from 2012 Ballad&Musical Concert with Orchestra

This is so marvelous. Mother and Son. Their voices are so similar in their tones and strengths. They need to make an album together. Hint. Hint. 🙂

Translated Lyrics to Goose’s Dream

I… I used to have a dream
Though thrown away and torn
and looks worn out
I kept it within my heart as if it was a treasure

Sometimes, though someone laughed at me
for an unknown reason
behind my back
I had to endure, I could endure
For that day…

You always tell me worriedly
That pointless dream is a poison
That this world is like a book, where the end is already written
That it is a reality that can’t be reversed

That’s right, I… I have a dream
I believe in that dream.
Just you watch me.
I can proudly confront
That coldly standing wall called fate.

Some day, I’ll climb over that wall
And fly high to that sky
Even this heavy world cannot bind me.
Let’s spend the day when I’ll laugh at the end of my life together…

You always tell me worriedly
That pointless dream is a poison
That this world is like a book, where the end is already written
That it is a reality that can’t be reversed

That’s right, I… I have a dream
I believe in that dream.
Just you watch me.
I can proudly confront
That coldly standing wall called fate.

Some day, I’ll climb over that wall
And fly high to that sky
Even this heavy world cannot bind me.
Let’s spend the day when I’ll laugh at the end of my life together…

(chorus)

Lyrics to “This Is The Moment”  from Jekyll and Hyde

Writers:  Leslie Bricusse & Frank Wildhorn

The song is more beautiful than the lyrics, but I can understand how Junsu connects to the lyrics. Junsu takes this music and song to a new level. It reminds me somewhat of ‘I Gotta Be Me”.

JEKYLL:
This is the moment!
This is the day,
When I send all my doubts and demons
On their way!

Every endeavor,
I have made – ever –
Is coming into play,
Is here and now – today!

This is the moment,
This is the time,
When the momentum and the moment
Are in rhyme!

Give me this moment –
This precious chance –
I’ll gather up my past
And make some sense at last!

This is the moment,
When all I’ve done –
All the dreaming,
Scheming and screaming,
Become one!

This is the day –
See it sparkle and shine,

When all I’ve lived for
Becomes mine!

For all these years,
I’ve faced the world alone,
And now the time has come
To prove to them
I’ve made it on my own!

This is the moment –
My final test –
Destiny beckoned,
I never reckoned,
Second Best!

I won’t look down,
I must not fall!
This is the moment,
The sweetest moment of them all!

This is the moment!
Damn all the odds!
This day, or never,
I’ll sit forever
With the gods!

When I look back,
I will always recall,
Moment for moment,
This was the moment,
The greatest moment
Of them all!
